Dedicate loyalty to the good empire

Chapter 340 Why don’t you thank Brother Dun yet?
The corpses of the Black Legion are increasing.

Until the heavy Marauder tank lay on its side by the road, and the Space Marine's body was hollowed out to the remnants of bones and black carapace, and the suit of Black Legion power armor.

The fragments of Catachan plants and the corpses of Catachan creatures nearby were still vivid in his mind, with wounds or burn marks caused by bombs, each one was so terrifying.

The wounds those monsters inflicted on the Black Legion warriors rivaled those inflicted by Guilliman himself.

This plain of death therefore looks so crazy and silent, the smell of blood and war fits perfectly together, making people sick while carrying the unique smell of plants.

Taylor raised his head, almost unable to bear it any longer, and cursed. "Am I dreaming?"

Roland said. "Boss, this is true. Demons and Chaos Space Marines were killed like puppies by those plants..."

Taylor rubbed his temple and said, "Look at those overturned Marauder tanks on the roadside. Life is almost going to be tough."

"This is a Space Marine vehicle, turned over like a toy, and the crew inside was eaten clean by vine-like carnivorous plants..."

"Look at us again. Those guys probably think we don't have much flesh on us, which is why we've managed to survive till now!"

"Thanks so much for Mr. Abaddon's help, otherwise we wouldn't be able to get here..."

Taylor said with a hint of mockery.

After all, the Warmaster had given him so much help, whether it was leaving the dark side of the empire or arriving here.

As they gradually approached the front line, a smell of blood and the sound of explosives began to appear.

To be honest, Taylor was not surprised. On the contrary, it would have seemed abnormal if no one was attacking.

He asked the convoy to slow down and the infantry to get out and move closer to avoid any trouble caused by the roar of Ferenstein's engine.

They moved through the dense forest to conceal themselves, as Catachan natives do, skillfully and quickly.

Navigating mud and forests is a must-have skill for almost every Skadi veteran today. Ironically, such scenery does not exist in their hometown.

Taylor, now hiding in the forest, cut off the body of a Catachan face-eater with a tactical dagger and said.

"Close enough."

"I can smell chaos."

Roland couldn't help but ask, "Boss, you always say you can smell it, but what does chaos smell like?"

Taylor replied. "It's like temple incense mixed with sulfur, and the rust and smell of blood."

Roland said with a bit of nausea, "I want to vomit."

Taylor replied. "You get used to their company."

As he spoke, he pushed aside the forest and tried to create a small field of vision for himself, which was difficult in the dense forest.

Fortunately, his luck was on his side, as the Chaos Space Marines fired a plasma blast right at his face.

A hot plasma blew up some of the grass and at the same time cleared away the Catachan thorn grass that wanted to attack Taylor, preventing him from being pierced by those things that were comparable to projectiles.

He was frightened by the explosion of plasma, but did not scream. He just endured the sparks bursting in front of him and watched the war situation in the distance.

However, unlike what he expected, what Chaos faced was not the brave and fearless counterattack of the Catachans, but this terrible nature.

The Black Legion warriors were picked up and thrown around by giant Catachan bats, and there were twisted and horrible plants writhing on the ground.

A bunch of grass that seems harmless will now turn into a projectile launcher filled with explosives, shooting out its iron-like leaves in an instant.

It was an absolutely deadly and terrifying weapon, like a plant-based fragmentation grenade, exploding among the crowd.

Even the armor that the Space Marines were proud of was pierced through, and amid screams and madness, their formation was finally disrupted.

Nearly 40 fully-armed Chaos Space Marines are now holding out. Yes, the word "holding out" is used for Space Marines...

Their combat experience is indeed sophisticated and sharp, and even those Space Marines who survived have figured out a secret way to fight against Catachan creatures.

They used flamethrowers effectively to destroy the lichens that Catachan creatures relied on for survival, while using explosive bombs to kill the giant animals that came to feed.

Of course, Taylor didn't want to admit it, but those guys fought well, and they would probably be able to clear a path to safety soon. This was not good news for Taylor. Although the animals and plants from Catachan did consume a lot of their strength, the Space Marines were still difficult to deal with.

He picked up his chainsword, ready to end this damned bloody show with the wrath of the Emperor.

Just before he made his move, a rustling sound, like something hitting wet soil, began to appear.

Taylor naturally recognized the voice. It was probably attracted by the smell of blood. It was the top predator in the Catachan world.

Taylor lowered his weapons and asked the soldiers to be quieter. After all, the owner of that voice might be far more deadly than the Space Marines.

While those Chaos Space Marines were still gloating over their victory, Taylor had already predicted when death would come.

He was now extremely glad that he had not driven Franstein over and had not fired rashly.

He said, "Whatever you see next, don't make a sound!"

"Disable the power armor's audio system, and ideally, the helmet's visual system as well."

At this point, the drum-like sound became more rapid, like a metal rod hitting the soil under a hydraulic press, powerful and heavy.

The Chaos Space Marines realized that something was wrong and hurriedly turned the gun barrels of the Marauder Tanks around, wanting to use humanity's greatest weapon of war against the enemy.

But when they locked onto something and fired at it, the large-caliber heavy armor-piercing shells passed through the forest, but only received a dull sound.

As the arthropod's steps became more and more rapid, a huge "centipede" crawled out of the dense forest.

Taylor saw the monster destroying the enemy with ease. Its body was 20 meters long and had a huge height of 6-7 meters.

In other words, the one Taylor and the others saw before was actually a child.

When the battle cries of the Chaos Space Marines and the roar of the Marauder Tank engines faded, the behemoth reluctantly departed, leaving behind only a cloud of ash and death.

Taylor said timidly. "Go clean up the battlefield, just like usual."

"I need bullets and weapons and equipment."

"And we also need to know which Warlord of the Black Legion they belong to."

Roland asked. "Boss, is that true? There might be some monster out there."

Taylor swallowed. "All I can say is, I hope the Emperor blesses me."

He grabbed his weapon and walked out of the dense forest, and at the same time he found that there was another dark figure crawling out of the bushes and ferns next to his position.

The two men looked at each other, and Taylor could see the Catachan decorations and attire on his body, as well as the stench of the black, rotting mud on his body.

Taylor said. "I don't know that anybody had their eye on those guys before me."

The Catachan warrior said, "I didn't know anyone in the Imperial Guard could hide so well."

"Don't you need to breathe?"

Taylor pointed to his mask and said, "I have this thanks to Cawl, the Mechanical Sage."

Taylor also found that the soldier in front of him was very young, only about 16 years old, and should be a scout.

There was no Catachan blade at his waist, just an ordinary tactical dagger, and no red scarf on his arms or head.

"Recruit?"

The young man said as he saw the handle on the chainsword at Taylor's waist.

"I'm not yet of age, but I recognize your weapons."

"This is my father's knife..."

"Or rather, the hilt?"
