Dedicate loyalty to the good empire
Chapter 101 Towards the Cadian Sector
Chapter 101 Towards the Cadian Sector
After returning from the black ship, Taylor was in a trance because a complex and noble object fell into his pocket.
Now he has become one of the most powerful people in the entire universe!
But this does not mean that he has real rights, nor does it mean that he is a judge. As long as the court declares his rights invalid, those things will become a thing of the past.
And what is the Tribunal? The Tribunal is the judge. They are the expression of power, no, they are power itself.
In the compartment of the transport ship, Taylor played with the crystallization of honor and power. As long as this inconspicuous thing was held and raised, he could declare an extermination order for a world, or form a fleet of dozens of imperial ships to fight for him.
But this power was meaningless. It could not free him from this damn service, nor could it truly allow him to escape from the dark 41st millennium.
He sighed and carefully put the thing close to his body.
He was a little confused. There were so many outstanding people in the world, why did he have to take on this responsibility?
It was so heavy that it almost took his breath away.
Now Taylor tried his best to encourage himself to forget those things, and at the same time tied it tightly to the inside of his clothes with the strongest python knot, a position that would never fall off.
Next, he returned to the mechanical world where he was stationed, said goodbye to Sister Krieg, and danced with Ms. Elena.
And that greedy little guy from the Mechanicus wrote a new recipe that incorporates many things that mortals cannot and should not eat.
Finally he organized a dinner party of his own, after all, so many friends were there.
He asked Miss Lightling to bring out her specialty, and at the same time he was cautious and requested that no canned ant bulls be allowed to sneak into his dinner team.
The high lords simply waved their hands and added most of the production lines to that thing, but in fact, apart from taking the lives of soldiers, this order was not very effective in alleviating food shortages.
No, if solving the problem of soldiers is also considered a solution, then this thing is actually a success?
Taylor's thoughts gradually expanded. He thought about how the empire would rule this chaotic world from a small can, until he was called and pulled to the long table.
Now he was facing a large group of elite dignitaries of the Imperial Guard, who were also his comrades.
Be prepared to express your gratitude.
He looked at the girl Krieg, Ms. Elena and those comrades he knew or didn't know, and was at a loss for words for a moment.
He only stammered. "I prepared... well, enough Amsett wine and food, that's it."
"That's it, let's eat!"
It wasn't a perfect dinner party speech, but the fact that Taylor was there was enough, and people were feasting, almost forgetting about the war and death. That was enough.
When he got up with the hangover he deserved the next day, Taylor opened his eyes blearily.
Metal walls, towering ceilings. He wiped his wrinkled cheeks and, in a daze, took the hangover medicine and kettle handed to him by a metal hand beside him.
He spoke automatically. "Oh, thank you, I needed this."
"Oh, I need you to eat this too." The old and familiar voice sounded as awkward as if one had been out playing all night and was suddenly caught by one's father.
Taylor sobered up immediately, not even needing to take medicine. Old Tychus, standing next to him, grinned and said, "It's okay. I know your party was a great one."
"Until you all got drunk and crazy, and everyone except the Krieg soldier ran into the command room noisily, shouting incomprehensible words and smashing my favorite radio."
"I know it needs replacing, but it's the only radio I can get a good signal on under any circumstances. It's been with me for over six years, longer than you."
"You are now in the brig of a cruiser. You have plenty of time to calm down and reflect on what you have done."
Taylor sorted out his thoughts and figured out what was going on here. He... smashed the war room?
"This is just a small mistake made after drinking. I can compensate you with throne coins or labor. Can you get me out of here?" Taylor explained hurriedly.
Tychus said with a smile. "No, this is good because you can finally sit back and listen to what I have to say next."
This sentence made Taylor alert. It was definitely not a good sign.
Old Tychus spoke now. "First, the Inquisition gave us a mission to deal with the Unclean. Then the Military Affairs Department ordered us to go to the Cadia Sector."
"First, I need to commend you on your excellent teamwork with Dragan, the Chaos Space Marine."
"Secondly, I must emphasize that the Cadia sector is currently under attack by the Death Guard led by Typhon. A large number of plagues and abnormal creatures are constantly breeding."
"We will serve as a reserve force, ready to put out fires when local forces are insufficient."
"This is a difficult task, and we are only able to get this task thanks to you."
"As a loyalist, I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to have my name on Terra."
"But it's likely that he was carved there as a sacrifice."
Tychus smiled wryly.
Then he suddenly changed the subject. "So, you need to keep us alive, and the most important thing is..."
After he finished speaking, the door of the confinement room was opened, and several costume designers and makeup artists walked in with a large and complicated camera.
Taylor immediately understood what was happening and kept repeating, "No, no, no, never!"
"I don't want to do weird poses and smile at those young people showing those posters with titles like, 'What is the hero of the empire?'"
"Those damn things are hanging in the Starport and the Plaza. Don't you know what publicity rights are?"
"Now the aliens, heretics, and loyalists in several sectors all know my name!"
"People are afraid of being famous, and Grokos beasts are afraid of being strong. There's no need to repeat this common saying!"
Tychus said with a smile. "I know some good photo editors working in the lower levels of the hive. I just need to give them a few negatives, and they'll make the poster."
"They can make those who are crying laugh, and make those who are laughing feel like a loved one has died."
“It’s like magic, and the price is right.”
"Believe me, you don't want your photos to be manipulated by those people. After all, there are many more interesting things that can be produced from a copy."
"For example, you have a relationship with an alien, and it 'happens' to be filmed, or something..."
"I think those magicians would like to see that."
"And if you're willing to help, you'll be a celebrity under the protection of the Ministry of Military Affairs. Let alone modifying your image, even insulting your name could lead to investigation and imprisonment."
"I ask you now, would you rather become a porn star known to everyone in the hive, or devote your life to the Empire?"
Taylor replied, looking ashen. "What the hell do I have a choice?"
