Chapter 467 Fearless Before the Abyss (Seeking monthly votes! Seeking further subscriptions!)
Unfortunately, over the years, Dr. Carrie has tried various methods with little success, and her human experiments have been rejected by Lord Morgan, so there has been no breakthrough progress.

Just recently, Lord Morgan convened a high-level meeting to prepare for implementing the Three Laws of Anime on the Lighthouse—

Firstly, it abolishes family ties, which means abolishing all emotional bonds such as family, kinship, and love, including the maintenance of marriage, free love, and blood relations.

Even reproduction is conducted solely through genetic matching in the "Hall of Dawn," completely detached from emotional factors.

Secondly, classification and genetic optimization: residents are divided into two classes: "upper class" and "lower class".

The superior citizens have superior genes and enjoy priority in resource allocation, reproductive rights, and important positions; while the inferior citizens are deemed to have genetic defects and can only engage in low-level labor, and have no right to a name or the right to reproduce. This arrangement can alleviate the pressure on resources and ensure the efficient operation of the lighthouse.

Finally, there was the system of exile: all the elderly over seventy years of age or those who were unable to work, whether they were upper class or lower class, would be forcibly exiled to the ground.

While ostensibly a search for hope, the real purpose is to reduce resource consumption and ensure that the resources of the lighthouse can be supplied to those of greater value.

It must be said that although the three laws sound extremely cruel and full of contradictions, they can barely maintain the continuation of human civilization in the desperate environment of the apocalypse.

However, this approach is ultimately only a temporary solution, especially when it comes to human emotions. Long-term and excessive suppression will eventually lead to a huge backlash. Even without the threat of the Devouring Beasts, the Lighthouse may still face self-destruction.

These were issues that many of the higher-ups in the Lighthouse had considered, including Dr. Carrie and Lord Morgan's wife, who all voiced their objections.

However, Morgan, as the city lord, acted arbitrarily and, in alliance with the Lighthouse's strongest armed organization, the Wasteland Hunters, attempted to forcibly implement the Three Laws.

Unsurprisingly, the residents of the Lighthouse who were classified as Dust People through genetic testing immediately launched a rebellion, and a bloody crackdown quietly began.

As for Wu Xian, he was lucky enough to still enjoy the status and treatment of an upper-class citizen. However, his leader, Dr. Carrie, was unwilling to sever ties with her family and began to secretly unite with other high-ranking officials who also opposed the Three Laws. They adopted a more radical approach to initiate the Abyss Beasts, which involved human experimentation.

Wu Xian originally didn't care and just wanted to be a lazy bum in the research department. But perhaps after several attempts to use the residents of the Lighthouse with Scarlet Syndrome were not very effective, Dr. Carrie actually turned her evil claws to the people around her.

That's right, Wu Xian was chosen by this crazy woman. Taking her by surprise, she injected her with a sedative, and then she used a machine to stuff him into the armor of the Abyss Walker. And then... Wu Xian arrived in the mysterious space.

"Wait! What's your current situation? Could it be that your physical body outside is already dead?!"

After reviewing the memories, Wu Xian of Da Feng was immediately startled, and his gaze towards the newcomers in the Ling Cage world became somewhat strange.

Could this be the first version of myself to die in this mysterious space?

"No, it can't be!"

Upon hearing this, Wu Xian's expression stiffened slightly.

Damn it, I got so carried away with awakening my cheat ability that I completely forgot about this!
……

Ling Cage World, Lighthouse, Ecological Research Department.

Wu Xian suddenly opened his eyes, and after confirming that he was still alive, he breathed a sigh of relief. Then he saw a dark red substance that was hard to describe.

Not only that, but a strange sensation also came from the surface of his skin, as if something was penetrating it and extracting its active energy, causing trillions of cells all over his body to twitch slightly, as if they were about to be drained dry.

Is this feeling... that the One Who Is About to Abyss is actively draining my life force?

Wu Xian's thoughts stirred slightly, and immediately afterward, a completely new change occurred within his body.

An immense energy was born out of thin air, bursting forth simultaneously from the depths of the genes and the soul, instantly spreading throughout the limbs and every corner of the body.

At the same time, those cells that were on the verge of depletion regained their activity, becoming thousands or even tens of thousands of times more vigorous than before, and continuing to increase as if there were no end in sight.

buzzing-

Suddenly, a peculiar fluctuation appeared, which Wu Xian keenly noticed.

Based on his knowledge of various power systems gained from the mysterious space, he understood that this was a fluctuation similar to mental power and telepathy, from which he sensed complex emotions such as doubt, greed, and vigilance.

The next second, the suction force throughout his body accelerated, frantically drawing out active energy, or rather, life force. Wu Xian didn't care at all, not even flinching.

It's very simple. Now that he has awakened his cheat ability, he is a genuine extraordinary life form, and has achieved immortality. The life force that the Abyss-Dweller extracted is like using a spoon to scoop water from a vast ocean. To say that it's a drop in the ocean is an exaggeration; it's not worth mentioning at all.

But more than this insignificant vitality, Wu Xian was concerned about the source of that mental fluctuation.

buzzing-

In an instant, a vastly larger spiritual force swept out. In less than a nanosecond, Wu Xian detected the source of the thought and, ignoring the other party's struggles and resistance, began to forcefully invade it. He quickly understood the reason.

"So that's how it is. The Abyss-Bearer is actually alive, and its materials come from the Mana ecosystem..."

Wu Xian murmured to himself, and a red and blue light gradually appeared in his eyes.

The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception is a skill that Wu Xian, a reincarnator, obtained from the main god. It is unrelated to bloodline but is a power that points directly to the source. Therefore, after being shared in the mysterious space, other Wu Xians can also use this ability.

Thinking of this, Wu Xian's gaze swept over the will of the Abyss Beast that he had bound with his mental power. After a moment, several death lines and death points gradually appeared in his sight.

……

Outside, in the research department, inside the ecological laboratory.

"Strange, why is there no reaction at all? This is completely different from before."

Through the bulletproof glass, Dr. Carrie looked at the motionless Abyss Armor, her brows furrowed, and she couldn't help but feel a little agitated.

In recent days, the Lighthouse has begun to show signs of chaos due to the Three Laws, and the Lighthouse residents who have been selected as Dust People have begun to hold mass protests.

At the same time, tensions are rising between the city defense forces responsible for the lighthouse's security and the hunters.

One can imagine that an unprecedented transformation is about to take place on the Lighthouse, and everyone is trying to solve this crisis in their own way, including Dr. Carrie.

She herself opposes the three laws, or rather, she opposes the law that abolishes all family relationships.

This would mean ending her marriage with her beloved husband, and possibly even having sex with a stranger and procreation due to genetic factors.

In Carrie's eyes, such behavior was almost no different from that of breeding animals, and she simply could not accept it.

Thinking of this, she looked at the Abyss Walker in the laboratory, a resolute look flashing in her eyes. Just as she was about to order the researchers inside to turn on the power and stimulate the Abyss Walker armor, there was a sudden commotion in the laboratory.

"Uh uh uh--"

Amidst a low growl resembling that of a wild beast, the all-silver-white, violently beautiful armor of the Abyss Warriors gleamed with crimson light in its eye sockets.

Then, with a sudden tug, he broke free from the mechanical arm's restraints, and his neck and upper torso began to twist and tremble as if he were enduring some kind of immense pain.

"Did we fail again...?"

Seeing this, Dr. Carrie immediately showed disappointment, but the next second, the Abyss suddenly stopped moving.

Under Carrie's surprised gaze, his arms, which had been holding his head, fell to his sides, and he slowly straightened up, the crimson light in his eye sockets disappearing.

Instead, there was a calm and deep blue, like the ocean, with only a single point in the center flashing a dangerous red light.
