Chapter 1 Cemetery

Chapter 1 Cemetery
It's raining.

Tang Wan, dressed in a black dress, stood in the cemetery, her slender figure reflected on the rain-soaked ground, a still and broken silence. She lowered her eyes, quietly gazing at the cold tombstone before her, a thousand strands of sadness etched in them, a look of vacant energy.

There is a black and white photo embedded in the tombstone.

The man in the photo is wearing a black suit and has handsome features.

When taking the photo, he was looking at the camera and smiling gently.

Tang Wan slowly squatted down and sat on the stone slab.

She lowered her eyelids, leaning against the cold stone tablet in a trance, letting the raindrops as big as beans hit her face and body. These subtle pains made her slowly accept everything in front of her.

Raindrops streaked across the black and white photograph on the tombstone.

The father in the photo smiles warmly and kindly.

After so many years, she thought that this sadness would gradually fade away, but she didn't expect to experience this scene again. The nostalgia and grief that had been buried for many years seemed to have found a point of release, and surged into her heart like a flood. Her heart felt blocked, depressed, and even a little numb.

Tang Wan raised her hand and gently stroked the photo with her fingertips.

Looking at the lush cypress trees beside the cemetery, she murmured softly, "Dad, I'm here to see you."

Those who came to mourn have left one after another because of the sudden rain.

She was the only one in black in the huge cemetery.

After an unknown amount of time, someone came up to her with an umbrella, his black leather shoes polished to a shine.

Tang Wan slowly raised her head, her long eyelashes covered with raindrops that were about to fall and blocked her vision, and her eyes were hazy as if there was a thick layer of mist in front of her.

She pursed her lips, wiped her face, and her eyes gradually focused as she saw the person coming.

She called him softly, "Uncle."

Looking at the embarrassed girl in front of him, Li Kuiwen sighed and reached out to hold her hand, "Xiaowan, come home with your uncle."

Tang Wan looked at the hand he extended, her eyes calm and composed. Home?
If it were me in my previous life, I would definitely follow him after experiencing the grief of my father's death.

But she didn't want to do it again.

She stood up with the help of the tombstone, her body a little shaky. She gently brushed away the big hand in front of her and smiled calmly, "No need, I can do it alone."

Li Kuiwen was stunned.

Without waiting for him to speak, the girl turned and left, walking slowly and firmly, step by step.

He came to his senses and hurriedly chased after him with an umbrella.

After sending the girl to her home, Li Kuiwen wanted to persuade her to go to his house. "Xiao Wan, it's not safe for you to live here alone. You should go to your uncle's house. You haven't seen your grandparents for so long. They miss you very much."

Unfortunately, Tang Wan didn't believe this.

How could her biological grandparents, such patriarchal elders, miss her? They must have wished she was as far away as possible, never to have anything to do with them.

Tang Wan turned her head away, a deep sense of fatigue hidden between her delicate brows.

"Uncle, thank you for sending me back. I'm a little tired and want to be alone."

Seeing that he couldn't persuade her, Li Kuiwen sighed and said, "Okay, then I'll go back first."

"Ah."

"Go change your clothes quickly to avoid catching a cold. You must be careful when living alone. Lock the doors and windows at night. If you need anything, remember to call me. Don't be afraid to bother me."

This is the only relative in the world who loves her.

In the end, she couldn't bear to make him worry, so Tang Wan smiled and nodded, "Okay."

After he left, Tang Wan took the key from her pocket and opened the door. Leaning her back against the door, she looked up at the house, which had returned to its familiar state, and her eyes couldn't help but well up.
