Chapter 111 Meeting the Parents (Part Two)
Lu Zhiyan and Nan Xu went to a shopping mall near their home and bought some gifts.

At six o'clock in the evening, just in time for dinner, they arrived at the Lu family's old house.

Although Cenxi and Lu Ji are divorced, both Grandpa Lu and Grandma Lu like Cenxi very much.

The two elders felt guilty towards Cenxi for their divorce.

They didn't have a daughter either, so they treated Cenxi as their daughter.

Lu Zhiyan carried the gifts in one hand and held Nan Xu's hand with the other as they walked into the old house.

To show that it was important, Cenxi and Madam Lu cooked dinner together tonight.

Grandpa Lu sat down at the tea table early to brew tea.

I had previously heard from Lu Zhiyan that Nanxu went on a business trip to Yaocheng, and after returning, I learned about Nanshan's death sentence, in addition to the kidnapping incident not long ago.

He wanted to cool down Nanxu, so he prepared chrysanthemum tea.

Nanxu was still a little reserved as she walked to the door, feeling extremely nervous.

She couldn't help but tighten her grip on Lu Zhiyan's hand.

Lu Zhiyan noticed that Nan Xu was nervous, so he gently patted the back of her hand to comfort her.

"Don't worry, don't be nervous, I'm here for you."

His words were like a reassuring pill, and Nan Xu took a deep breath.

Seeing that Nanxu had calmed down, Lu Zhiyan pushed open the door.

The moment she pushed open the door, a polite smile appeared on Nan Xu's lips.

The first person to hear the voice was Grandpa Lu, who was wearing a Tang suit and reading glasses.

Lu Zhiyan placed the things he was carrying on the cabinet in the entryway, then took out a pair of new slippers from the shoe cabinet and placed them next to Nan Xu's feet, before finally taking out his own slippers.

Just as he knelt down on one knee to help Nan Xu change her shoes, Nan Xu caught a glimpse of Old Master Lu and dodged Lu Zhiyan's hand with a quick movement.

However, none of this escaped Old Master Lu's eyes.

He was so shrewd that no clue could escape his notice.

However, he still found it somewhat unbelievable.

Lu Zhiyan has always been cold and stubborn, so how could he willingly lower himself to a woman?
Clearly, if she wasn't truly in love, then this woman must be very cunning.

Judging from the situation, he prefers the former, otherwise he wouldn't have been in such a hurry to bring it back.

He then glanced at Nan Xu's outfit and felt that Lu Zhiyan wouldn't like it.

There is no doubt that they are a perfect match, both in terms of family background and appearance.

Lu Zhiyan looked up at Nan Xu, his deep eyes revealing a clear sense of confusion.

Nan Xu met his gaze and coughed lightly; Lu Zhiyan already understood.

She then got up and changed into her slippers herself.

As soon as I turned around, I saw Grandpa Lu standing behind me.

With a slight upturn of his lips, he respectfully called out, "Grandpa."

Grandpa Lu nodded.

"Come and sit down." He said, putting his hands behind his back and slowly walking towards the tea table.

Looking at Grandpa Lu's retreating figure, Nan Xu felt uncertain.

He didn't even send a greeting; does that mean he's dissatisfied with her?

Her complexion wasn't good, and the smile on her lips had faded somewhat.

Lu Zhiyan led Nan Xu to follow in Grandpa Lu's footsteps.

She whispered in Nanxu's ear, "Don't overthink it, that's just the kind of person my grandfather is."

As soon as the two sat down, Grandpa Lu placed the tea he had prepared in advance in front of them.

"You young people are busy with work and often stay up late. You're prone to getting internal heat, so drink some chrysanthemum tea."

Grandpa Lu spoke with a beaming smile, but the smile lingered in his eyes.

Nanxu couldn't figure out Old Master Lu's temperament, so she didn't dare to speak casually.

She and Lu Zhiyan both picked up their teacups and took a sip of tea.

"Grandpa, this is Nan Xu. My girlfriend." Lu Zhiyan took Nan Xu's hand and placed it in his palm.

With her entire hand enveloped, Nanxu felt less nervous.

Before Nanxu could speak, Old Master Lu spoke first.

“I recognize you. You are Lin Duoye’s granddaughter. I even held you when you were little.” Grandpa Lu leaned back in his chair, looking at Nan Xu with a smile in his eyes.

Nan Xu was somewhat surprised and almost dropped her teacup.

Why does that sound so strange?

“I often hear my grandfather mention you,” Nanxu put down her teacup and answered softly.

This piqued Old Master Lu's curiosity.

"Really? What did he say about me?"

Nan Xu's smile was somewhat forced. Lin Duoye had been traveling abroad for many years; she was just making up a lie, there was no need to press her for details.

"It's simply that Grandpa's ruthless methods in the business world are very admirable," Nan Xu replied, forcing a smile.

All she can recall now is the glorious moment when Grandpa Lu once dominated the business world.

I can't think of anything else.

Seeing this, Lu Zhiyan came to Nanxu's rescue, his tone revealing helplessness, "Alright, Grandpa, she's timid, why do you have to tease her?"

Upon hearing this, Old Master Lu gave a disgruntled snort.

They're siding with outsiders!

He forgot his grandfather after getting a wife.

The group chatted casually for a few more minutes.

After several attempts, Nan Xu had basically figured out Old Master Lu's temperament.

She has a sharp tongue but a kind heart; every word she says is barbed.

"I heard that you and Jing Shu were kidnapped not long ago. I hope you were alright?" Grandpa Lu asked with concern.

"No, thankfully my uncle and Zhiyan arrived in time."

Grandpa Lu breathed a sigh of relief.

"That's good. Have you caught him? What are your plans?"

Before Nan Xu could speak, Lu Zhiyan spoke first.

"Handed over to the police station, and they will be severely punished." As he spoke, Lu Zhiyan exuded a chilling aura.

Old Master Lu knew at a glance that this matter would not be easily resolved.

"Who on earth is so bold?"

It would have been better if these words hadn't been said, because they made Lu Zhiyan feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Seeing Lu Zhiyan's expression, Old Master Lu thought he had asked something he shouldn't have.

He quickly waved his hand to indicate, "It's okay, it's fine if I can't say. Grandpa doesn't really want to know."

As he spoke, he touched the tip of his nose.

Okay, he really wanted to know, and even if Lu Zhiyan didn't tell him, he would find out himself.

Nan Xu didn't think anything of it and spoke directly.

"He was a fanatical follower of Lu Zhiyan."

Grandpa Lu thought he had misheard.

The Evolution of the Road?
A fanatical pursuer?
How could someone like him, who would rather stay out of the news for eight hundred years, have such fervent admirers?
Are you kidding me?

"Don't talk nonsense. He doesn't have any ardent admirers. Who else but you would like him?"

Grandpa Lu shook his head and sighed, looking incredulous.

It's no wonder that Mr. Lu said that; Lu Zhiyan rarely appears in the media.

He usually turns down all public appearances, and if he can't turn them down, he lets Secretary Li attend.

Although there are many rumors about Lu Zhiyan in Beijing, he only made an appearance once, when he first took over the company.

Or it could be personal information, but that information consists of photos from many years ago.

Seeing that Grandpa Lu didn't believe her, Nan Xu took out her phone and searched for Ruan Meng's social media accounts.

Grandpa Lu took the phone with some skepticism.

Goodness, out of 677 works, 432 bear the tag of Lu Zhiyan.

What dream girl?
He didn't understand; it must be a new term used by young people.

He casually glanced at a few more posts, including some of Ruan Meng's meticulously edited selfies.

Grandpa Lu muttered a complaint in a low voice.

"It's not pretty at all; her face is so thin it looks like she has no flesh on it."

"Those eyes aren't big at all! And her face is deathly pale, like she's been plastered with white paint."

Listening to Grandpa Lu's complaints, Nan Xu couldn't help but touch her own face.

Her face is indeed not big, and her eyes aren't as small as he said, are they?

As for her skin, she has a cool-toned fair complexion... she can't possibly get a tan, can she?
She doesn't like it.

Is there really not a single place I'm satisfied with?

Noticing Nan Xu's subtle actions, Grandpa Lu made no attempt to hide them.

"Oh, I wasn't referring to you, I was talking about her."

He pointed to Ruan Meng's photo on his phone screen.

Upon hearing this, Nan Xu laughed awkwardly twice.

She thought they were talking about her.
