Chapter 336 I Won't Let You Eat
Qin He looked at the little dumpling again. How could she be with Prince Rong? Prince Rong was dashing and elegant, while Qin Bi was just a concubine's daughter in the Marquis's mansion. The fourth branch of the family had no say in the Marquis's mansion.

"Should we not go along with it?" Qin He didn't want to sound amiss.

Several princes sat in the main seats, and Qin He sat next to Prince Xue. She was favored by men and attracted attention. Qin He was dressed in the dress of a prince's consort, looking charming and beautiful. The young ladies from various mansions looked at her with envy.

Prince Rong lifted his eyelids: "What do you mean by that?"

Rong Jun wasn't angry; his handsome face remained calm and expressionless. Qin He felt a chill in her heart and immediately put on a smiling face: "What could I possibly mean? I just think the young master looks more like my cousin."

Qin He then added, "The young prince is so cute."

Rong Jun then turned his gaze to the little dumpling. In front of Rong Jun, Qin He could only say nice things. Qin He breathed a small sigh of relief, then cursed herself for being so weak. What was there to be afraid of? She was still the Princess Consort of Prince Xue.

Qin Yan glanced at Qin He and sensed that Qin He was not being entirely sincere.

He Yan remained calm as he spoke with Qin Yan. After Su Shizi arrived, he also came over and sat down in the main seat. The children were running and playing around. Xue Shizi's eldest son looked to be two or three years old, even though he wasn't actually two or three.

However, Qin He didn't like children who were too young, so she used rare and precious materials to raise her eldest son until he was about two or three years old.

Actually, Qin He would prefer the child to be five or six years old, but times have changed. Qin He and Prince Xue can no longer afford to provide so many good things for their legitimate son, and the child is no longer so fussy at two or three years old.

At this moment, Fu Bao was playing with the other children. Prince Xue was holding the child and tried to give him to Qin He several times, but Qin He maintained the airs of a princess consort. The child, Xue Rui, stared at Rong Chi in Rong Jun's arms.

The owl eats melon seeds, its little hands flailing and its little feet kicking.

Rong Jun only had eyes for Rong Chi, and couldn't see that Qin He's child, Xue Rui, was staring longingly at Rong Chi, his mouth watering, but the child didn't ask for melon seeds.

Rong Yang ran over and leaned against Rong Jun's leg. Rong Jun fed him the peeled melon seeds.

Rong Yang ate some melon seeds, asked Rong Jun for some, and ran off to play. Soon the children started arguing. Rong Jun, who was very protective of the children, looked up and went to find Rong Yang.

Fu Bao cried loudly, "I want to eat boiled melon seeds!"

The children stopped playing, including Rong Yang. Fu Bao yelled at Rong Yang.

This scene was familiar. Qin He quickly got up and went over to Fu Bao, asking, "Fu Bao, what's wrong? Why are you crying when you were playing so well? Did someone bully you?"

The children looked at each other, and one of them said, "No one is bullying her."

"I want to eat boiled melon seeds," Fu Bao complained, pointing at little Rong Yang. "Mother, Rong Yang won't give me boiled melon seeds. He shares them with others but not with me."

Rong Yang said, "I won't give you any."

Qin He looked at Rong Yang, disliking this child who had ruined her feelings for He Yan. She had always thought that He Yan was different and could remain chaste for her, but Rong Yang's existence had slapped her in the face.

It's all Qin Bi's fault for seducing Prince He.

"Rong Yang, how could you give the boiled melon seeds to other children but not to Sister Fu Bao?" Qin He faced Rong Yang, her face devoid of a gentle smile. She couldn't bring herself to like Qin Bisheng's children: "They're so young, why are you treating them differently?"

Rong Yang ignored her and looked toward the main seat: "Father."

Rong Jun glanced at the scene, handed his youngest son to Qin Yan beside him, strode over to Rong Yang, bent down and picked up the little dumpling, who was leisurely eating boiled melon seeds.

Rong Jun turned his head and sneered, "Qin He, how could you let the child starve like this?"

Qin He's face flushed red. Rong Shizi was making fun of her. Only those who have no food at home would ask others for things. But Fu Bao was not born into a poor family. She was born into the Xue Wang Mansion and was a first-rank princess.

Qin He wanted to retort, but couldn't utter a single word. Rong Jun carried Rong Yang back to the main seat, and the child leaned over to talk to the little dumpling in Qin Yan's arms. Fu Bao got upset and burst into tears, saying that she hadn't even had boiled melon seeds since her mother had come.

Fu Bao ran to He Yan, who could support her: "Uncle, I want to eat boiled melon seeds."

Qin He glanced at Rong Yang and sighed helplessly: "Young Master He, look, Fu Bao is still young. Rong Yang gives the boiled melon seeds to others, but doesn't give any to Fu Bao to try."

Rong Yang stopped talking to her younger brother and looked up. He Yan said, "Rong Yang, let Fu Bao try your melon seeds. Father will find you some spiritual melon seeds later so you can make boiled melon seeds."

Rong Jun was taken aback, and Rong Yang said, "Rong Yang's."

Fu Bao shouted, "What do you mean 'your'? You just like to steal my things!"

“I didn’t steal it,” Rong Yang retorted.

"I just snatched it!" Fu Bao shouted even louder. "The boiled melon seeds weren't yours either; Uncle He gave them to you."

Rong Jun laughed. Sure enough, it really was the spirit-infused melon seeds that He Yan had sent to the Rong Prince's residence. Rong Jun didn't stand on ceremony and tossed them to the guards. They were boiled melon seeds that the Prince's cook had made for the young prince.

So what? Rong Jun said to Prince Xue, "Is this how you raise children in your royal household?"

“Aren’t we all family?” said Prince Xue. “Fu Bao is my older sister.”

"It's just a handful of melon seeds," Qin He said. "Rong Yang is too stingy."

Qin Yan had no choice but to say, "I'll tell the kitchen to cook some melon seeds for the kids, and everyone stop making a fuss."

After Qin Yan said that, Fu Bao stopped making a fuss. Qin He was unhappy because Qin Bi and her child were fighting over everything. Qin Yan felt the weight in her arms tilt, and Qin Yan lowered her head.

The little dumpling tugged at He Yan: "Sunflower seeds."

He Yan didn't notice whether Rong Yang in Rong Jun's arms was happy or not. He glanced at the little dumpling. The older children were making a ruckus and didn't pay attention to the little one, who was looking up at him with his head tilted up.

"Father," came the childish voice.

Qin Yan thought she had misheard and blinked. He Yan's eyelids twitched and he said, "Rong Jun, your youngest son wants to eat melon seeds."

Rong Jun was puzzled. Rong Yang fed the melon seeds that his father had peeled for him to his younger brother. The little dumpling opened his mouth and ate them. Then, he turned around and ate melon seeds in front of Xue Rui, who was in Xue Shizi's arms.

When Xue Rui was just one year old, he was drooling with envy.

"I won't give you any." The little dumpling said in a childish voice.

Prince Xue: "..."

Seeing Xue Rui on the verge of tears, Qin He immediately felt sorry for him.

Rong Jun was stunned for a moment, then laughed in exasperation. He took the child and held both children in his arms. The little dumpling, for some reason, stretched out its little hands and tried to climb into He Yan's arms, determined to find He Yan.

Seeing the child's eyes brimming with tears, Rong Jun angrily handed his youngest son to He Yan: "I raised Rong Yang from a young age. You got a child for nothing. Help me take care of the child."

The little dumpling was so soft and cuddly that He Yan froze, holding it.

Rong Chi cackled happily, finding He Yan's jade pendant quite nice, and held it tightly, refusing to let go.
