Chapter 226 Discovery
All the tourists on Fuyun Island left after receiving ten times the compensation.

The quiet Floating Cloud Island, devoid of human presence, exudes an indescribable chill and desolation in the sunset.

Li Yubai looked at the map of Floating Cloud Island in his hand and circled fifteen places on it with a pen.

An hour later, a violent explosion rang out, and fifteen deep underground pits appeared on Floating Cloud Island.

Hundreds of bodyguards and mercenaries carefully surveyed the area around each pit with their instruments. In the pavilion at the highest point of Floating Cloud Island, Li Yubai and Rong Jingchen gazed at the scenery of Floating Cloud Island, each lost in their own thoughts.

"Are you sure you can dig something out?" Rong Jingchen asked skeptically. "The guy surnamed Ning seems to be the most harmless one among us. Even that green tea Yan Yu is more aggressive than him."

"You can't judge a book by its cover when it comes to attack power." Until his suspicions were confirmed, Li Yubai remained wary of Rong Jingchen. "The scenery is beautiful, but staring at it all the time gets boring. How about we talk about you?"

"Me?" Rong Jingchen's eyes flickered slightly. "Are you interested in my bloody past?"

"Let's talk about what happened at Ziwu Pavilion nineteen years ago."

Rong Jingchen said "Oh": "I was very young at that time and don't remember anything, but I heard that I had a serious illness and was confused for a long time after I recovered. If you want to know about this time and place, I'm afraid I can't give you the answer you want."

“I just casually mentioned a time and place.” Li Yubai looked him up and down. “You didn’t even think about it before you blurted it out. It seems you have a very strong memory of that point.”

“There’s no need to test me.” Rong Jingchen sneered, but also gave me face by explaining, “You know why I came all the way to China. In order to find out the reason for my indescribable feelings for Xiaoshu, I have repeatedly studied every point in time I spent in China.”

"The results of it?"

Rong Jingchen sighed softly: "If I had found the answer, I wouldn't be here right now. I would either have gone back to France alone or taken her with me. In short, I wouldn't be wasting my time with you men."

Li Yubai hummed in agreement. "If your feelings for her are truly related to those days at Ziwu Pavilion, then perhaps I can give you an answer."

Rong Jingchen was taken aback: "What are you going to say?"

"What I say depends on what you're going to say to me." Li Yubai smiled faintly. "No rush, take your time thinking. I don't need a fragmented reply. The more you say, the more accurate my answer will be."

Rong Jingchen stared intently at Li Yubai for a long time: "The longer we spend together, the less I can see through you."

Li Yubai did not respond to him, but instead focused his gaze on Floating Cloud Island.

Looking at Floating Cloud Island from the highest point gives you a very different feeling.

Despite the vibrant flowers, there was a sense of gloom and loneliness at the top, as if... one were in a cold cage.

He looked at the well-arranged hotels on the island, and the flowers, plants, and trees that seemed to grow in a particularly orderly manner, lost in thought.

Another half hour passed.

Finally, one of the bodyguards' detectors detected an anomaly, and after some digging, a deep underground pit suddenly appeared before their eyes.

Upon seeing what was inside the pit, everyone took a step back in unison.

Li Yubai slowly walked up from behind, his gaze falling on the deep pit.

A giant black python completely blocked the pit. Its scarlet tongue was as thick as an adult's forearm, and its body was over ten meters long. On its huge triangular head, two large, bulb-like pupils stared coldly at Li Yubai.

Rong Jingchen stood to the side, pondering, "Could it be... wild?"

Before Li Yubai could speak, a message came from another excavation team: "Boss, there are some here too!"

Rong Jingchen: "..."

Li Yubai looked at another snake pit that was much the same, closed his eyes, and said in a more serious tone, "Continue." Another hour later.

Of the fifteen locations circled by Li Yubai, nine yielded giant pythons. These pythons neither harmed anyone nor left, seemingly integrated with the deep pit, forming a bizarre yin-yang symbol, exposed to the light of day…

Now, Rong Jingchen obviously no longer thought it was wild!
Who keeps nine wild snakes together?
"Ning Yunzhan seems like a refined and upright man, but I never expected him to be so cunning," Rong Jingchen sighed. "What does he gain by keeping a bunch of snakes around?"

Li Yubai didn't speak, but returned to the pavilion on the mountaintop.

Looking down at the entire island from above, nine enormous snake pits meander in the shape of a yin-yang fish, stretching across several mountains and resort hotels like a strange thread, stringing together the ridiculously brightly colored flower areas like beads.

The most central location of the yin-yang symbol is the hotel where Ning Yunzhan specially took Jiang Shu to stay for Yan Yu's birthday last time.

Li Yubai still remembers that Jiang Shu didn't sleep well at the time. She woke up early in the morning complaining of chest tightness and shortness of breath, and was very averse to the environment.

How can I not be resistant?
This was a trap... specifically designed to kill her.

"Dig up the hotel's basement," Li Yubai ordered again.

Rong Jingchen raised an eyebrow: "There's something else in the basement?"

"This is a spirit-binding array from an ancient vampire text. There must be a carrier at the very center of the array."

Rong Jingchen took the detector: "I'll dig it myself."

On a private plane bound for China.

Feng Li closed his eyes to rest. Ning Yunzhan was teaching Jiang Shu how to play a mobile game.

Jiang Shu played terribly, but Ning Yunzhan showed no impatience whatsoever; in fact, he seemed to enjoy it. Feng Li, standing beside him, would occasionally glance at him, lost in thought, but he would only smirk and say nothing, nor would he disturb him.

Ning Yunzhan's phone beeped.

He took out his phone, read the message from his assistant, and a chill crept into his eyes.

Jiang Shu keenly sensed that something was wrong with him: "Is something the matter?"

"It's nothing serious." Ning Yunzhan smiled. "Let's land directly on Fuyun Island later. Li Yubai and Rong Jingchen are there too, so it'll be more lively with more people."

Jiang Shu said "Oh," and asked, "What are they doing there?"

"Perhaps, they're treasure hunting?" Ning Yunzhan joked.

Jiang Shu sat up straight: "Treasure hunting?"

Beside him, Feng Li chuckled meaningfully. He had naturally caught wind of the situation and was eager to see what would happen next.
"Wow, Ning Yunzhan is incredibly wealthy; Floating Cloud Island must have a lot of treasures hidden there!"

Jiang Shu's curiosity was piqued: "Really?"

“No.” Ning Yunzhan paused, and seeing the obvious disappointment on Jiang Shu’s face, he added as if possessed, “But it is possible.”

Jiang Shu's eyes lit up again.

Ning Yunzhan thought for a moment and said gently, "We haven't had a family team-building activity in a long time. This time when we go back, I'll bury some treasures on Floating Cloud Island, and then we can play a treasure hunt together. How about that?"

Meanwhile, on Floating Cloud Island, something was indeed unearthed again.
