Chapter 202 Infiltrating the Rival's Lair
Country M. Li Yubai knocked on the door of the main residence of the Feng family, a wealthy conglomerate in FY, amidst the heavy fog.

At the door, the old butler looked haggard and looked at the distinguished man with a very respectful tone: "Mr. Li, there are matters at home, and it is not convenient for me to receive guests at the moment."

"About Feng Li?" Li Yubai asked with elegance and composure. "I came here specifically for him."

Fifteen minutes later, in the Feng family's reception room.

Old Master Feng leaned on his dragon-headed cane, his face exuding an imposing aura even without anger: "What did you mean by what you said earlier?"

“Feng Li has been away for a long time, and his family is urging him to come back. I came to check on him, and if possible, I'll take him back to China.”

"You have quite the nerve! When did my beloved grandson become part of your family?" Old Master Feng sneered. "Your life-or-death struggle with Ali a while ago was watched by the whole world. This trip makes people suspect that you have ulterior motives."

Li Yubai smiled slightly: "Indeed, he had ulterior motives."

Old Master Feng's expression softened: "State your conditions."

“I will use my connections to ensure he leaves the military investigation team unscathed within two days. In exchange, I will require him to visit his three permanent residences in the United States within two days.”

Old Master Feng frowned: "The conditions you have set are rather strange."

"Strange? The old man should have sent someone to investigate as well. He probably knows that Feng Li and I were in the same room, so to be precise, we are rivals in love. My actions are simply to learn more about my rival in love, so that I can better deal with him in future battles in love."

Grandpa Feng's face darkened: "You may go back. We, the FY, can coordinate things with Ali ourselves and get him out within five days. There's really no need to sacrifice my future granddaughter-in-law just to save a few days of waiting."

"..." Li Yubai rephrased, "What if I told you that the forces from Misty Continent have also intervened and are planning to carry out frequent assassination attempts against the Crown Prince in two days?"

Old Master Feng sat up straight, roaring in fury: "They dare!"

"Whether you dare or not is another matter, is the old man willing to take this risk?" Li Yubai remained calm. "My beloved wife is waiting for my reply. If the old man is still unwilling, then I will return now."

Grandpa Feng remained silent for a long while with a gloomy face before suddenly speaking: "I have met your father and grandfather. You three generations not only look exactly alike, but your personalities are also exactly the same."

Li Yubai's eyes narrowed slightly: "Oh?"

"I'll leave Ali's affairs to you. As for the three places Ali usually stays, the steward will take you there later." Old Master Feng offered tea to see the guest off. "Ali is in poor health and it's already difficult for her to live. If she and you two are destined to fight to the death one day, I hope you will show mercy."

"Grandpa, you're joking. Of the five men in our family, your grandson is the most energetic." Li Yubai stood up and chuckled. "If I'm not mistaken, this main house will be our first permanent residence. Why don't we start here?"

"Whatever you like." Old Master Feng gestured to the old butler, "Take good care of Mr. Li. I am old and frail, so I will not keep you company."

Grandpa Feng left with his hands behind his back.

Li Yubai glanced at the spot where he had just sat down, and then followed the butler to the second floor.

“Mr. Li, this is the young master’s study. When he was young, he was in poor health and couldn’t go out often, so he especially liked to stay here reading books. His elite education was mostly completed in this study, which drove away at least ten teachers…”

The old steward seemed particularly talkative when it came to matters concerning Feng Li:
"And that wall of figurines, they all belong to the young master, especially after he turned eighteen, he really liked collecting them."

Li Yubai's gaze fell on the exquisite figurines, his eyes narrowing slightly before he scrutinized the books, asking casually, "Does your young master still frequently read those books?"

“We don’t flip through them as much now. The older the young master gets, the more restless and unruly he becomes.”

Li Yubai walked into the study and casually picked up a book with a laminated peach petal bookmark: "Has he always had a hobby of using peach blossom bookmarks?" "No. He only developed this habit five years ago." The old butler recalled, "That year, the peach blossoms in the backyard were particularly beautiful, and the young master liked them very much, so he started to tinker with them. He not only made peach blossom bookmarks, but also tried to brew peach blossom wine. That wine is still buried under the peach tree. He said that if he has the opportunity to get married, he will dig it up and drink it."

Li Yubai grunted, "Where are the figurines? All the figurines are tied with red Chinese knots, is there any significance to that?"

"I'm not quite sure. The young master has always loved Chinese culture, and he practiced tying these knots for a long time."

Li Yubai nodded slightly and put the book back on the shelf. "Would it be convenient for you to take me to his bedroom?"

“Of course. It’s just that since the young master came of age, he has preferred his freedom and has been staying at the main house less often.” The butler pointed the way, “This way, please.”

after an hour.

Li Yubai returned to the reception room. The old butler made a phone call to arrange the car and said to Li Yubai, "Next, we'll go to the villa in the northern suburbs. That's the young master's second residence; he stays there for most of the month—I mean before he went to China."

"Thank you for your trouble." Li Yubai paused as he passed the spot where Grandpa Feng had been sitting. "Grandpa, could I borrow your tea set for a couple of days?"

“Mr. Li likes this style? Then take it. The old man has several more sets.”

“No need for the whole set, this one has a very unique design, just this one will do.” Li Yubai leaned down slightly and gently picked up the teacup that Grandpa Feng had just drunk from, his gaze fixed on the rim of the cup, his expression inscrutable.

Two days later.

On a private plane bound for China.

Feng Li remained as sickly yet arrogant as ever, sitting lazily on the comfortable sofa as if she had no bones.

Li Yubai sat next to him, looking at him thoughtfully.

"What are you staring at me for? Are you sick?" Feng Li glared at him. "Or do you think I've become even more handsome since we haven't seen each other for a few days, and that I'm threatening your position in the family?"

"No." Li Yubai slowly reached out and naturally removed a few strands of hair from his clothes.

Feng Li's vigilance was heightened: "You scoundrel, what are you doing?"

"I haven't seen you for a few days. How much have you been suffering in there? You've even started losing your hair." Li Yubai calmly tucked some hair away. "I'll have to let my sugar daddy take a look and give you a proper makeover."

"What nonsense are you talking about? Apart from being a little restricted these past few days, I've been living the high life. Didn't you study biology before, you dog? Losing a few hairs is perfectly normal." Feng Li looked at him suspiciously. "Ning Yunzhan said you've been acting strangely lately, always focusing on us. I think so too."

"The journey back is long, why don't you listen to me tell you about my childhood?" Li Yubai poured him a glass of red wine and gave him a meaningful look.

Feng Li said impatiently, "Since you went to so much trouble to get me out of here ahead of time, I'll reluctantly be a listener."

Li Yubai pondered for a few seconds, swirling the wine in his glass, his gaze gradually becoming unfathomable:

"I have a few little habits that I've maintained for many years, and even my closest benefactor doesn't know about them."

Feng Li replied casually, "Oh."

Li Yubai smiled inexplicably and met his gaze:
"I like making peach blossom bookmarks and Chinese knots. Recently, I discovered someone who shares the same hobbies as me, like... someone is copying me. I wonder what their intentions are..."
