"I still have to thank Ion Shark. If it wasn't for him holding back the Guardian, I'm afraid I would have to fight another round!"

Martin and Hal sat on the edge of a tall building on Ajurui, overlooking the intelligent machines of the Interstellar Court repairing the damage caused to the planet by the invasion of Apokolips.

Thanks to Martin and Hal's efforts, they kept Steppenwolf's fleet away from the planet, and Ajurui did not suffer a truly devastating blow.

Except for some mentally fragile lives that cannot accept the fluctuations caused by the fight between Martin and Steppenwolf and need psychiatric treatment, the rest of the losses can be repaired within today.

The later Green Lanterns did not stay for too long. Theoretically, they had no jurisdiction in the Interstellar Court, and not everyone liked the Green Lantern's way of doing things.

So after confirming that there were no problems inside Ajury and that Martin and Hal would stay to handle the remaining matters, the Green Lanterns left here, taking the information obtained from the battleship, to search for traces of the Apokolips operation.

"What's next?"

Hal looked at the vast interstellar court, thinking about obtaining information from the battleship, and for the first time fully understood the structure of Apocalypse.

A race called the New Gods, with a vicious and sinister style of doing things and a terrifying army.
These things kept spinning in his mind, making him worry about the situation on the mother planet and want to seek a solution from Martin.

"Weren't you so confident before? Why are you sighing again after looking at some data?"

Martin knows more about Apokolips than Hal, or rather, he knows more about the horror of Darkseid.

But he had been preparing for this for too long, and the oppressive feeling brought by Apokolips and Darkseid could no longer make him panic.

"How can I not be nervous? The Earth can't even launch large-scale manned rockets right now. Satellites in orbit can only attack the Earth, not to mention the weapons on the ground. There is such a huge gap between the Earth and Apocalypse, and the dark clouds of war are already hanging over the heads of mankind. How can I not be nervous?"

The more Hal spoke, the more uncomfortable he felt. He jumped up from the ground, and his legs moved uncontrollably as he turned around.

"It seems that you still don't have confidence in the Justice League and me! I've already told you that what Darkseid wants is the equation on Earth. If he destroys the Earth directly, he won't get anything."

Martin confidently said to Hal: "War is always just a means. What really matters is what purpose the people who start the war want to achieve through war."

"To Darkseid, Earth is just an ordinary, backward planet, an ordinary member of the countless lives in the universe, and not worth his fanfare. If it weren't for the Anti-Life Equation, this arrogant New God wouldn't even cast his gaze on Earth."

"That being said, even if Apocalypse does not use weapons that can directly attack the planet, it will not be easy for us to force back a group of New Gods."

After hearing Martin's calm analysis, Hal's restless heart calmed down and they continued to discuss matters on Earth.

"That's why we need the Green Lantern Corps and the help of all civilizations in the universe that are willing to make peace. Although the power held by those people on Apokolips is powerful, their brains are no different from those of people on Earth. Until now, Darkseid has only sent Steppenwolf to attack the Interstellar Court, which shows that he regards this war as a war between Earth and Apokolips."

Martin looked at the disappearing sunlight on the planet Ajurui and saw more from the attack of the Steppenwolf.

"Does it make any difference?"

Hal didn't react. Since Darkseid wanted the anti-life equation hidden on Earth, what else could he do besides attacking the Earth?
Martin looked at Hal's bewildered expression and smiled, "So, you still need to continue learning, and get rid of those vulgar American ways of dealing with the world as soon as possible!"

"Uh, could you please stop talking about Americans all the time?"

Hal's face was full of black lines. He had long seen that Martin was very dissatisfied with the United States and wished that this country would disappear from the earth.

If this had happened in the past, as a member of the US military, Hal would have either fought with the man or had a good debate with him if he had heard such words.

But after he received training from the Green Lantern Corps, he looked at America from a new perspective and found that the ideas he had accepted in the past were too frustrating.

He was so frustrated that he didn't even mention it.

"From a purely war perspective, if Apokolips wants to launch a point-by-point attack on Earth, it is impossible. Although space travel is difficult, with the Green Lantern Corps, communication between them is not completely blocked."

Martin no longer expected Hal to understand these things on his own, and directly explained all the reasons: "In short, when Apokolips attacks the Earth, others can also attack Apokolips. So, before that, the Green Lantern Corps must be patient and restrained, act normally, but not provoke Apokolips."

"I'm counting on you for this!"

Martin reached out and patted Hal on the shoulder.

Hal knew that Martin would leave soon, and like Ion Shark, he directly took on the task of persuading Green Lantern.

But besides this, he was still somewhat puzzled: "I have seen the new god Steppenwolf, who is arrogant and cunning. Although he has the title of a new god, his morality is not even as good as that of a human. Can a simple attack on Apokolips cause a figure like Darkseid to retreat?"

"There is a saying on Earth that a monarch without people is not a monarch. Even if he is a new god, if he has no one to rule, he will be a lonely man and no longer a dark monarch. Darkseid may not care about the demons transformed by the Mother Box, but he cannot give up the new gods."

"And I can assure you that if the entire Green Lantern Corps is mobilized, they will definitely be able to wipe out the New God on Apokolips."

Martin has been a superior for a long time and knows what Darkseid is thinking better than Hal, a pilot who loves freedom.

As for the combat effectiveness of the new god, there is no need to think about it.

The gap between people is even greater than that between people and dogs.

The gap between the New Gods is the same. Even the most benevolent monarch will use his subordinates as tools, not to mention that Darkseid is not a benevolent monarch.

As they were talking, the last ray of light from the star withdrew from Ajurui, and the entire planet was instantly lit up, illuminating the cities as if it were daytime.

Martin exhaled softly, relaxed his body, and lay on the cold casting board, waiting for the end of the day.

Hal still has a lot of questions, such as how to unite the Lanterns in the future, how to convince the Guardians, how to arrange the war against Apokolips, etc.

But seeing Martin lying on the ground, looking relaxed, Hal realized that these were things he should do and should not bother Martin, so he said nothing more, just sat beside Martin, quietly thinking about what to do next.

Suddenly, Hal remembered something very important and turned to ask Martin for help, but found that he had completely disappeared.

"This is so strange. He was right next to me, but I didn't even notice he disappeared! What an amazing person."

Hal shook his head and contacted the Green Lanterns who had just left Ajurui through the Green Lantern Ring, asking them for Martin's name, but the answer he got was unanimous that they didn't know.

The Green Lanterns all forgot about Martin's existence and attributed the credit for blocking Steppenwolf's attack to Hal.

"Why do I feel a little awkward? Forget it, as long as we can protect the Earth from the invasion of Apokolips, let's put these meaningless morals aside for the time being!" After making this decision, Hal left Ajouri and went to find other Green Lanterns to explain the situation on Earth to them.

……

Martin opened his eyes and saw a pure white ceiling. There were brackets installed around the simple iron bed, holding up white gauze curtains.

Through the small holes in the gauze curtains, one can see that the roof of this room is not made of putty, but iron sheets coated with white paint. The air conditioner in the room is whirring, and while the strong wind blows out the cold air, it also makes the walls of the room buzz.

"This seems to be a tin shed commonly seen on construction sites. Where am I now?"

Martin was well-informed and immediately recognized the house he was living in.

He climbed out of bed, wearing a simple vest and shorts. There were not many things in the room. There was a computer and piles of documents on a table, and an ordinary filing cabinet was also full of documents.

Martin walked to the table in his slippers and picked up a document with the words "General Design of New City Construction Plan" written on it. When he opened the palm-thick atlas, he saw dense lines and countless data.

"The flow rate in the universe is much different than I expected. It has already been a month, and the foundation of the new city seems to have been laid!"

Martin threw the thick paper documents aside, turned on the computer, pulled out more detailed data, and began to browse the results of Clark's work this month.

His identity today is tied to the construction work of the new city, and there is nothing special about him.

But Martin didn't care about these. He just logged into the Justice League's network with his own identity and started browsing the data.

During this month, Bruce successfully contacted a friend who was interested in the Justice League project and signed a series of business contracts with him.

In order to complete this plan, Bruce is still traveling around the world and has not returned to Gotham once, which can be regarded as temporarily giving up the identity of Batman.

His actions caused an uproar in the United States, mainly because the Justice League required that everyone involved in the construction of the new city must abide by a series of regulations.

This aroused the anger of European and American financial groups that were accustomed to plundering the world, so those people launched a large-scale public opinion attack in the United States, attacking Bruce from all aspects from public to private, and even dug up the matter of Batman.

Bruce is not a person who cares about false reputation. As long as he can protect the weak, he doesn't care what method he uses. He has also long disliked his colleagues.

While Americans' attention was attracted by Bruce, the Martian Manhunter, a spiritual master who was well versed in human nature, signed contracts with countries, tribes and warlords of all sizes around the African desert.

Immediately, Clark took the organized team and plunged into the desert. Under the guidance of Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing, they quickly greened an area in the desert and began large-scale construction.

"Clark is quite suitable for this kind of work. There were no accidents!"

Martin focused on Clark's work. As for technical matters, he only had a general understanding and did not look into them further.

Of course, it is not difficult for him to understand these technologies with his brain, but as a leader, he does not need to know all the details of everything.

"Martin, Martin!"

Clark's voice came from outside the door, and his voice was full of surprise and unexpectedness.

The door of Martin's house was pushed open, and a big man rushed in. His tall body was facing the sun, and his shadow directly covered the entire room.

"It's only been a month. Are you so happy? It's like I've come back from the dead!"

The sunlight in Africa is very strong. The room was tightly sealed before, so Martin didn't feel it. But as soon as Clark opened the door, strong light shone in, causing him to subconsciously squint his eyes into a line.

"You are our core. You suddenly disappeared. We were almost scared to death. We hoped that you would come out as soon as possible day and night. If Bruce hadn't talked to you about the alien things in the past, we would have thought that you had an accident."

Clark breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Martin sitting there unharmed.

During this month, he finally understood the importance of Martin. Without him, all communication between superheroes, between the Justice League and the Amazons and Atlanteans became very difficult, and no one was willing to submit to each other.

If Bruce was there, no matter how much quarrels there were within the Justice League, they would still be able to come up with a plan in the end.

Once Bruce starts flying around the world, it will be useless for the Justice League to quarrel internally. No one is sure how many problems there are in their own plans, so naturally they dare not take responsibility.

For example, when dealing with domestic public opinion in the United States, the two sides advocating refutation and those advocating friendship argued several times, but to no avail.

Because none of them knows what consequences will arise from doing so, and no one can blame anyone else, so they would rather do nothing.

"You don't know, I haven't slept much during this period!"

Clark sat across from Martin, and although he looked unchanged, Martin could clearly feel that the flesh all over his body had loosened a little.

"I've read the minutes of this month's meetings, and I can only say that things are normal. Bruce and I were too strong before, so it's normal for everyone to be afraid to show their faces. As we have more and more things to do and our actions become more standardized, things will improve soon."

Martin was not angry, and even advised Clark not to worry about it.

Although this sounds terrible, Clark and his colleagues rarely attended these meetings because they had their own responsibilities.

This is not a big deal, just establish some discipline and slowly form a habit.

"Anyway, now that you're back, you should do these things!"

Clark unceremoniously threw the question to Martin, and then sighed: "Dealing with people is always so complicated, it gives me a headache!"

Martin said helplessly: "If you don't interact with people, is it still a society? You are escaping from it, don't mention it again in the future."

Clark would only complain like this in front of Martin. In front of others, he was a tough guy with a soft heart and never backed down.

Seeing Clark nod seriously, Martin stopped talking about these things and told him about his contact with the Green Lantern Corps and the battle against Steppenwolf.
