"Tracking the international gangs is not just a technical problem. They sell weapons abroad, and people in certain government departments must have taken money from them."

Everyone knows, without Martin's telling, that a rampant underworld like the International Gang must have someone supporting it, otherwise he would have been killed long ago.

The arms trafficking is a very special industry in itself, not to mention that the international helpers have special skills.

"Clark, continue to communicate with General Sam and try to find out more information about the International Gang. Tell the government people to get out of here and stop disturbing us."

"Bruce is responsible for coordinating the overall situation and coming up with a complete plan as quickly as possible based on the information obtained."

"Diana, continue to prepare the Amazon army and wait for our news."

"Barry will be in charge of logistics and coordinate the deployment of all resources of the Alliance. Arthur will bring the Mother Box to Gotham. I will seal the Mother Box. You will stay in the Alliance and be responsible for organizational work and mobilize everyone."

"I will take Barbara with me and follow the clues of the International Gang. I will inform everyone immediately if there is any news."

Martin directly assigned tasks to everyone, and no one had any objections, as this was a job they were already familiar with.

When the communication was interrupted, everyone became busy.

Barbara showed Martin her handwritten meeting minutes, and then found out all of Bruce's investigations into the International Gang.

Martin took a quick glance and found nothing wrong, so he started watching Bruce's investigation records.

The background check of Bruno and his wife Onomatopoeia was very ordinary, and they maintained the life trajectory of an ordinary American for the first few decades of their lives.

Both of my parents are white-collar workers, living in a middle-class community, have good grades, went to a decent college, and then took on heavy student loans.

Until Bruno found the mother box hidden by the human kings, his life changed and he suddenly embarked on the path of a gangster boss.

In the eyes of outsiders, this gangster's rise was miraculous. However, the Justice League confirmed that he was the spokesperson of Apokolips on Earth.

Clark thinks Bruno is just an isolated case, but Bruce has put a question mark on this matter and the case has not been closed to this day.

The alliance's subordinate and cooperative agencies have not stopped investigating Bruno's partners, and various intelligence has been summarized into a complex network.

The person who did this was Dick, because Bruce was too busy during this period and had no energy to do such things.

"At least Dick is right about one thing. He does a good job as a detective."

Martin looked at the intelligence network summarized by Dick, nodded in approval, and asked Barbara to call Dick over.

"Why don't you go find him yourself?"

"I just had a fight with him. I don't think he would listen to anything I said."

Barbara stood up and walked away from the computer. "Dick is not that petty. I mean, he won't let his personal emotions affect his work."

Martin nodded and made a zipping motion.

Dick did not go on strike because of the unpleasant quarrel just now. He followed Barbara and started to introduce his discovery to Martin directly.

"According to my research, the International Gang's biggest partner is Luther. After Luther was wanted, he took over a large portion of Luther Group's shares and used these channels as a cover for the arms business."

"Normally, an arms dealer would secure his own territory so as to maintain stable trading relationships. But the international gang's trade network is too large. There are signs of their activities in South America, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. He simply can't make money from many businesses."

"It's just that he always gets help from some local people. It will take time to find out the relationship between these people and the international gang."

"I understand that the situation in these places is too complicated. It is difficult for the Wayne Group to gain anything in a short period of time just by using business relationships."

Martin frowned as he looked at the introductions of organizations and characters that appeared on the computer screen.

"I need someone to analyze those who trade with the International Gang and find out which ones are profitable and which ones are losing money. It seems normal for the International Gang to provide weapons to informants from other Apocalypse Stars."

"I will notify Bruce immediately and ask him to pay attention to this matter."

Barbara immediately made a phone call to communicate with Bruce.

Dick leaned back in his swivel chair, swaying his body, and said to Martin, "We can go directly to Bruno and his wife. You can use magic like mind reading to dig the information out of their heads."

"Well, let's go meet him again. Maybe we'll get something unexpected."

Martin had not seen his partner in Bruno's memory before.

Although his memory did not set up any defenses, the existence of Apocalypse was shocking to any earthling.

Martin also suspected that his attention might have been drawn to Apocalypse, causing him to ignore the truly valuable news.

"This guy is in Blackgate prison right now, and no one has tried to save him or his wife. If it weren't for Bruce's insistence, she would have been forgotten."

Martin didn't call Barbara. He and Dick, who had just changed his clothes, got into the Batmobile.

He sat in the driver's seat without hesitation, started the engine, rushed to the Batcave, and then said:

"Don't you think this is unusual? Putting aside the background of Apokolips, Bruno's crime of selling arms is much more serious than that of the Penguin. Why didn't anyone pay attention to him? Why didn't the police, the district attorney, and the court follow up on this case in a timely manner?"

"Gotham's judicial system has always been like this. Slow action is actually the norm."

Although Nightwing said this, he realized something was wrong.

Bruno is not a lunatic from Gotham. His business is so big that he must be involved with some members of Congress.

Now that his business has been exposed, the people behind it have not reacted at all and let him stay in Blackgate Prison. Do they expect this man to be able to survive Batman's interrogation?

Thinking of this, Nightwing immediately began to investigate who in Washington was involved in this case, but even if he was the eldest son of the Wayne Group, it would be impossible for him to know such a thing immediately.

So, they have to wait for a while.

"Why didn't I think of such a simple thing?"

Nightwing clenched his fist and slammed it on the car door, regretting his carelessness.

"It is better to stay still than to move. Bruno's partner is quite smart. He fully grasped the mentality of superheroes not wanting to conflict with the authorities and secretly exerted influence on the judicial process. As long as Bruno is forgotten, he can be removed from Gotham."

Martin nodded, indicating that this was the method that those in power should use - directly manipulating the order itself, which was much more effective than fighting and killing.

"They are all shameless, playing with the law like a toy."

Nightwing was outraged.

"Even if they comply with the law, the existing law itself has serious problems."

Martin smiled and persuaded Nightwing to calm his anger.

"Ask Alfred to contact Washington and ask those congressmen who are close to the Wayne family to pay attention."

Martin drove the Batmobile on the road, looking at Gotham under the dark clouds, and said in a deep voice: "I have a feeling that maybe we have to go to Washington again."

Nightwing looked at Martin in surprise, he and Bruce had never done this before.

But after hesitating for a few seconds, he still made the call to inform Alfred.

……

"Bruno Mannheim, someone wants to see you, come out immediately."

The prison guard's commanding voice was very harsh. Bruno slowly opened his eyes and looked at the prison guard holding a baton, feeling something was wrong.

"Who wants to see me?"

"Why are you talking so much nonsense? Get out of here right now. You're a prisoner, it's good to have someone watching you. Why are you complaining so much?"

With the training of crazy people like the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler, the level of the prison guards at Blackgate Prison has increased dramatically.

Bruno thought he hid his emotions well, but the prison guard saw through his intentions at a glance.

If he didn't have such ability, he would have died at the hands of the Joker and his gang long ago.

"Get out of here right now. This is a prison, not a tourist resort. If you don't obey, you will be beaten."

Under the threat of the electric baton, Bruno obediently stretched his hand out through the gap in the door.

The prison guards put special handcuffs on him before knocking on the cell door and pushing him towards the interrogation room with batons.

"go in!"

When Bruno saw the sign for the interrogation room, his heart sank.

No matter who was interrogating him, this was not a scene he wanted to see.

Punishment is a very cruel thing. The stories of those who were tortured but still kept secrets sound very glorious, but those who could do those things are absolutely heroes.

Bruno never thought of himself as a hero, so he kept a low profile after entering the prison, in order to avoid the attention of the police or the Justice League, and then quickly slip away. "Damn Justice League, damn superheroes!"

Bruno's hands, which were holding the door, trembled uncontrollably, and sweat kept pouring out of his forehead.

If given a choice, he would rather face the Gotham police than Batman.

But reason told Bruno that the person sitting inside could not possibly be a Gotham police officer. If the police wanted to intervene, they would have done it long ago.

Only superheroes would suddenly bring up old issues.

"Don't dawdle, go in quickly."

The prison guard saw Bruno dithering and knew that he was hiding something, so he urged him to go in quickly.

Although Gotham's police do not have the ability to deal with lunatics like the Joker, the police in various departments, especially the prison guards, have a strong sense of justice, otherwise they would not be able to withstand the pressure from those lunatics.

Of course there are corrupt police officers, but they are very rare among prison guards.

Blackgate Prison and Arkham Asylum are the biggest cages for people like the Joker. Every time they escape, they wreak havoc and kill people crazily.

The corrupt police in prison are alive to earn money but not alive to spend it.

As time went on, those who stayed were all good people, and those who had connections with gangs went to work as patrolmen.

"Brother, how much is your monthly salary? Are you so enthusiastic?"

Bruno turned his head to look at the prison guard who was urging him and looked at him hatefully.

"I just can't stand you criminals. It has nothing to do with how much money I make. Get in now!"

The prison guard raised his baton. The flashing electric light on the tip of the baton made Bruno's heart jump suddenly, and then he pushed the door open and walked in obediently.

Seeing that the person standing in the room was Nightwing, his nervous heart relaxed a lot, and even his steps became lighter.

"Ryan, this is why I don't like Gotham. People only remember Batman and are not afraid of Nightwing at all."

Nightwing noticed the change in Bruno and had no choice but to joke with the prison guard who brought the person in.

"We remember you, we are all brothers!"

The prison guard named Ryan locked Bruno's hands to the grounded iron chain, then squatted down and locked his feet as well.

The moment Ryan squatted down, Bruno clenched his fists, trying to seize the only chance for the other party to get close to him.

But noticing Nightwing watching him intently, he finally gave up the idea of using force.

He knew his level and knew he could handle a prison guard without any problem, but it would be a dream to defeat Nightwing in a narrow interrogation room.

"Excuse me, Ryan! Please go out first. I will call you when I have finished asking questions."

Ryan made an OK gesture, threatening Bruno to behave himself, and then walked out.

"I have told you everything I know. Why are you still looking for me?"

Bruno spoke first, expressing his absolute willingness to obey.

Nightwing had interrogated so many criminals and had seen this trick so many times that he had no reaction at all.

Martin stood on the other side of the one-way glass, also observing Bruno's reaction.

He seemed to be sitting relaxed in the position being interrogated, but various small movements showed that he was very nervous at the moment.

"It seems that he is indeed hiding something that we don't know."

Martin told Nightwing about his discovery through the headset: "According to our previous agreement, don't give him a chance to react, attack directly."

"Don't play dumb, Mr. Mannheim!"

Nightwing slammed the table and shouted angrily: "You did admit your crime of selling weapons, but you can't tell where the weapons came from. Why? Is it because we can't guess it?"

"Do you still think that your master far away in Apocalypse Star will send someone to rescue you?"

Nightwing took out a document and smashed it on the table. When he opened it, he saw information about Darkseid and a sketch that Martin had drawn on the spur of the moment.

The moment Bruno saw the portrait, he was stunned. He turned the pages of the document one by one with trembling hands, and his brain and heart were shaking uncontrollably.

He forgot about Martin and didn't know that the memories in his mind had been dug out by Martin.

What's more, the dossier that Martin prepared on the spur of the moment described several leaders of Apocalypse in more detail than Bruno knew.

How could this make Bruno, who didn't regard this as the biggest secret, lose his composure?

"It's no secret to the Justice League that Apokolips is about to invade."

Nightwing pretended to know everything and said calmly, "You are Apokolips' informant on Earth. We have confirmed this. Based on this alone, we will never hand you over. Don't think that you in Washington can save you and your wife."

"Since you know Apokolips, you should know how big the gap is between Earth and them. Everything the Justice League is doing now is nothing but a joke."

Bruno clenched his back teeth, believing that the outcome of this war had already been determined.

This attitude was extremely abominable, but Martin and Nightwing had expected it, so their reactions were indifferent, and they were not willing to argue with him on this topic.

"Don't ask him directly about the information of other Apocalypse informants. Ask him indirectly. Don't let this guy die."

Martin has seen through Bruno's tough exterior and found that there is actually fear beneath it.

He didn't dare to rebel against Apokolips, but he also didn't have the courage to confront the Justice League head-on.

After listening to Martin's advice, Nightwing directly put forward the conditions and said: "You and your wife have done so many things for Apocalypse, and you will definitely be sentenced to death. But your children still have a chance. As long as you hand over the account books of the International Gang, we will let your children change their appearance, get rid of your influence, and start a new life."

"Does it make sense? Even if I surrender now, Apocalypse will come and settle the score with me after he wins."

Bruno didn't care about Nightwing's conditions.

Nightwing frowned and shouted angrily, "Is this how you act as a father? You leave your child's future in the hands of a group of aliens? Do you think Apokolips is such a good person that he would let your family be the king of a colony?"

Bruno had no reaction to Nightwing's words.

The more agitated Nightwing became, the calmer his emotions became.

"Asshole!"

Nightwing's anger suddenly rose and he was ready to take action.

Just at this moment, Martin pushed the door and walked in.

"Nightwing, don't be impulsive! We are civilized people, we don't do lynching."

Nightwing snorted and made way for Martin.

Bruno saw Martin walking in and felt familiar with him but couldn't remember his identity.

"Finally, someone whose words have an impact has arrived. The Justice League is not as upright as I thought. They actually pushed a child out as a shield while they hid behind the scenes and gave orders remotely."

"That's a hundred times better than sending your own child to the guillotine. At least I never lied to Nightwing. Does your child know that you are a traitor?"

Martin lit a cigarette for Bruno, and after he took a long puff, he slowly said this.

Bruno was about to take a breath, but when he heard Martin say this, the smoke was blocked in his lungs and he couldn't help coughing violently.

"You, what do you mean? You want to do something to a child. Is this what a hero of the Justice League is supposed to do?"

Martin flicked off the cigarette ash on his legs and said calmly, "You and your wife colluded with Apocalypse, betrayed Earth, and shipped weapons to war-torn Earths around the world. There is absolutely no problem with being sentenced to death. Your child enjoyed the bloody benefits and paid a considerable price. Is there a problem with this?"

"They're still kids!"

Bruno tried to stand up, but his hands and feet were bound with chains.

Martin held Nightwing down with one hand and grabbed Bruno's collar with the other, staring at him and saying, "Most of those killed by your weapon were children. It's only right that your family should go to the execution ground. If you hand over the account book, I'll count it as a meritorious service and let your child go."

Bruno softened instantly.

He saw the word "cold" in Martin's cold eyes, and knew that the other party would never waver, so he retreated.
