Chapter 305: Barry's Day
Chapter 305: Barry's Day (Please subscribe, read, vote and comment)
Barry's day starts on a sunny morning.
He slept until he woke up naturally, opened his eyes, gently kissed his fiancée on the cheek, then walked to the bedroom, opened the curtains, and stretched lazily facing the rising sun.
"Another beautiful day!"
Barry had a satisfied smile on his face.
Ever since he got engaged to Alice, he moved out of his adoptive father Joe's house and lived a wonderful life with Alice.
His career as the Flash has skyrocketed, and he’s stopping crimes and saving lives on a near-daily basis.
Through the Justice League's network, Alice met Lois Lane, a famous reporter, learned a lot of experience, and gained a firm foothold in the journalism industry.
“I really hope this kind of life can continue forever!”
Barry sighed, looked at the colored light band tied around his right wrist, encouraged himself mentally, and then started to work.
He stretched out his legs and rushed into the bathroom in the blink of an eye.
Although Barry can get rid of all the dirt and odor on his body through high-speed vibration, he still maintains his past living habits to prevent himself from being separated from normal life because of his superpowers.
After Meimei took a hot bath, he walked out of the bathroom and shook his head quickly, not only drying his hair but also creating a complete hairstyle.
"Handsome!"
Barry walked past the mirror in front of the bathroom, looked at himself in the mirror, touched his face and was a little narcissistic.
Then he went into the kitchen and started preparing breakfast.
Half an hour later, when Alice walked out of the bedroom with a messy head and sleepily opened her arms to Barry for a hug, a hot breakfast was already on the dining table, steaming and smelling delicious.
mua!
"Go take a shower!"
Barry hugged his fiancée, who had milky white skin, kissed her, and then pushed her towards the bathroom.
Alice put her arms around her fiancé's neck, hung on him like a koala, and said in a coquettish tone, "No, let's take a shower together!"
"I don't mind, but you have an interview today. What if you're late?"
After Barry reminded her, the dazed Alice remembered that she still had work to do. She screamed and rushed into the bathroom in a hurry.
Fortunately, Barry had already prepared everything for her. Alice didn't take too long to take a bath and put on some light makeup in the bathroom.
"Oh no! Oh no! Louise helped me get this opportunity. I can't be late!"
Alice rushed out of the bathroom wailing, completely losing her appetite for food. She shuttled back and forth between the bedroom and the living room, picked out the clothes she would wear today, and then slowly put on some foundation on herself.
Barry just watched quietly by the side, eating and waiting, without any urging.
Although time was tight, rushing would only make things more chaotic and might even lead to a quarrel. Besides, he ran very fast, so even if Alice wasted some time putting on makeup, she would still be able to arrive on time.
"I'm ready. Honey, take me to the newspaper office."
Alice came out of the bedroom, putting on her high heels.
"Come right away!"
Barry flashed, washed all the dishes, put them back in place, and packed food for Alice.
Then he picked up his briefcase, hugged Alice like a princess, and rushed out of the house.
Alice looked at the world that was constantly retreating at an extremely fast speed and couldn't help but exclaimed: "Oh my God, no matter how many times I see this scene, I can't get used to it."
Barry smiled and said nothing. The world that Alice saw was actually far from Zoom!
Although he can now control the speed force freely and bring people into a state of extreme speed.
But ordinary people simply cannot withstand the consumption of extreme speed. If they stay in the extreme speed state for a long time, a grown person can burn all the energy in the body within a few seconds and then starve to death.
So, he just used his starting speed and carefully protected Alice with the force field.
"Ding, we've arrived at the final stop, please get off!"
Barry walked steadily to the door of the newspaper office and spoke to Alice in the tone of an electronic voice broadcast.
He appeared suddenly and so fast that the people next to him couldn't react at all to find out whether there was a living person next to them.
"Your service attitude is great. I will definitely give you a five-star rating and will take your car again next time."
Alice jumped out of her fiancé's arms and cooperated with him in his antics.
"Wait for me at home tonight. I have a surprise for you!"
Alice gave Barry a sweet kiss, which made him stand there in a daze, grinning foolishly for several minutes.
It was not until the alarm on his cell phone rang that he remembered that he also had to go to work, so he instantly went into top speed and headed straight for the police station.
Central City Police Department, Forensic Technology Laboratory.
"The time is up and Barry hasn't shown up yet. He's late again."
The laboratory supervisor watched the second hand of the wall clock slowly move towards the scheduled working time and announced loudly that Barry was late.
But just as he finished speaking, Barry's voice came from behind him:
"Gabe, what are you talking about? I've been in the lab a long time ago, and I've been going over yesterday's case."
Barry walked out of the experimental area, wearing a white coat and goggles, holding a freshly completed report in his hand.
"That's impossible. I've already checked the lab thoroughly."
The director of the laboratory looked as if he had seen a ghost. He snatched the experimental report from Barry and after repeated confirmation, he found that there was no problem with all the data. It was indeed the data that had just been produced this morning.
"Barry Allen, I don't know what tricks you played, but remember, I will always keep an eye on you."
The supervisor's face darkened as he saw the data report fall on Barry's chest. He slowly stepped back and made a gesture of staring at him.
Barry took the report honestly, raised his hand and said, "You are the boss, everything is up to you."
"Hmph, start working right away."
The supervisor snorted coldly, walked quickly into the office, and slammed the office door hard, making a loud noise.
"Phew, I finally managed to fool you!"
Barry heaved a sigh of relief and sat down in his seat. Although he was the Flash, the pressure from his boss was still so real that he couldn't bear it.
Several colleagues nearby, who also had no good feelings towards the strict boss, comforted Barry and joined him in scolding the inhumane boss.
Their complaints are nothing more than that their wages are getting lower and lower, the work pressure is getting higher and higher, and the boss's temper is getting worse and worse.
In the past, this laboratory was subsidized by the government, and while providing support to the police, it was also able to take on private work to earn extra money.
However, in the past year or so, the Central City Police Department has handed over most of the superhuman cases to STAR Labs for analysis and processing. This forensic laboratory would have been disbanded long ago if it weren't for Barry, a sucker who worked almost for nothing.
Barry listened to his colleagues' complaints and didn't know what to say.
After all, Star Labs is actually Team Flash. In order to help him deal with superhumans quickly, it took over the police station's forensic business almost free of charge.
And the forensic laboratory does not have the ability or sufficient equipment to analyze the complex evidence left behind by superhumans.
According to Cisco, if it wasn't for Barry's disguise, he should have resigned immediately, because staying in the forensic laboratory was a complete waste of time. Complaints aside, these people still have to continue working before finding a new job, otherwise they won't be able to support themselves and their families.
As soon as Barry turned on his computer, he received a notification from Joe that another superhuman crime had occurred and someone was needed to go to the scene.
He immediately packed up his tools, carrying the box and meeting Joe at the door of the police station.
"Late again?"
Joe looked at Barry's hurried appearance and couldn't help but teasing him, "I really don't know why you are always late with your speed? Can't you run from home to the police station in one second?"
"To be fair, I did run to the police station within a second. I ran into the office the moment the needle reached it."
Barry put the tool box in the trunk and sat in the passenger seat.
"Then why can't you leave a second earlier? What's the point of having to get to the office on time?"
Joe shook his head helplessly, started the engine, and rushed to the place where the crime happened.
"I promise to try to leave earlier next time."
Barry made a promise that he didn't even believe in, and then asked about the details of the case.
"Someone broke into the hospital and stole Craven Madden's body! According to the report, there were three people who broke into the hospital, and they all had different superpowers. But the victim couldn't remember what happened exactly."
"Clavin Madden?"
Barry muttered the name and immediately recalled all the information related to this person.
The Madden family was once a criminal family. On the night of the particle accelerator explosion, the family had an internal conflict over interests.
The eldest son of the family, Craven Madden, was murdered by his wife and struck by lightning. He was resurrected again through the magic wand he developed that could control the weather and became a weather wizard.
The second son, Mark Madden, killed his sister-in-law to avenge his brother, and then voluntarily went to prison to serve his sentence.
Not long ago, in an operation, Joe shot and killed Craven Madden in order to protect Barry. The other party's body was taken away by the hospital and has not been buried yet.
"Sisko and his team are transferring all evidence of superhuman crimes to Star Labs. Maybe they will have more information."
Barry took out his cell phone and looked at the two different systems of the Justice League and Team Flash, feeling a little awkward.
"We should find an opportunity for Arthur to bring Cisco and the others in."
As he spoke, he dialed the number of Star Labs and heard the voices of Cisco and Caitlin.
"No, Craven Madden's wand is in the lab, but there is no news about Mark Madden here."
"That guy has been serving his sentence in Tieshan Prison. He has been very well behaved and has never even been involved in a fight. All his family members have died, and no one has even visited him in prison."
"In short, we need you to collect more evidence at the scene before we can make a judgment."
Barry listened to Cisco and Caitlin's intertwined voices and didn't react at first.
It wasn't until Caitlin finally summarized her demands that he realized something was wrong.
"Wait, Caitlin. Why are you back from LA?"
"Things there were over for us, so we came back."
Caitlin is not very interested in what's happening in Los Angeles. Although she is also worried about those young superhumans, she is not willing to follow the Justice League to get involved in too many political affairs.
Barry felt the gap between his teammates and the league, but didn't take it to heart. He didn't realize what the meeting last night meant.
"We're already here. Keep in touch. I'll let you know if I find anything."
He followed Joe out of the police car.
Sisko responded, "We're always online."
Barry showed his work ID to the police guarding the cordon. He looked at the police surrounding the hospital and said in surprise, "What happened in the hospital that required such a tight cordon?"
"be prepared!"
Qiao had seen the photos of the scene before, so he was given a special shot of prevention before entering the hospital.
Barry nodded, walked out of the hospital door, and gasped.
"Wow!"
The hospital was filled with bright mirrors, and in each mirror was a person, both men and women, stuffed in it. They were like living portraits, constantly knocking on the mirror.
"Let us out!"
"Oh my God, what the hell is this place?"
"I'm claustrophobic, please, let me out."
The sounds made by these people trapped in the mirror are reversed. The syllables of every word they utter are reversed, and what reaches their ears is a mess of noise.
Only Barry's brain was fast enough to analyze the meaning of these sounds in an instant, faster than the supercomputer in Star Labs.
"This is the work of the Mirror Master."
Barry scratched his head and said regretfully, "Oh, Sam wasn't this violent before. What happened to him?"
"I told you before, it's not a good idea to be friends with criminals."
Joe looked at Barry's calm expression, frowned and asked, "Besides, what did the people in the Justice League teach you? They didn't even react when they saw such a scene."
"They just let me know that after the matter is resolved, there is no time to feel sentimental."
Barry took a deep breath and collected the mirror that had fallen to the ground.
Then he walked into the hospital and saw the medical staff inside dancing and muttering something like they were strange creatures.
Barry forcibly grabbed a man, opened his eyes, and found that his pupils were constantly rotating.
"These people's self-awareness is already confused. Follow their words and control them. Don't use force!"
"It's the Peak Man!"
He asked the police to deal with these victims first. These people who had lost their self-awareness were the most dangerous and it was hard to say how they would react.
Passing by the victims, he walked into the morgue and looked at the charred marks on the corridor, identifying them as the marks left by lightning.
With Joe following Barry, these things weren't so hard to tell apart.
"I am very familiar with this kind of thunder and lightning. Could it be that Craven Madden has come back to life?"
"I don't think so."
Barry shook his head slightly: "Even if the power of the particle accelerator is amazing, it can't revive a person twice in a row!"
