Chapter 150: Disappointment after Extreme Hope

"There was a conflict between the Mechanicus and the people of the Arsing Shipyard."

When Martin got the news, he took Mira and immediately got on the elevator and headed straight for the shipyard of the space station.

The reason for the conflict between the two parties made him feel both ridiculous and sad.

In order to ensure that the three warships can perform to their maximum potential, engineers at the Alsing Shipyard hope to remove unnecessary decorations on the hull.

In fact, at Sidonus's urging, the engineers had tried to retain as many exterior decorations as possible that had only decorative functions.

But the priests of the Mechanicus refused to accept such a modification. They claimed that "removing even one statue would be disrespectful to the Emperor."

Sidonus was unable to reconcile the conflict between the two, so he asked for help from Martin, the company commander.

"The priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus do have a deep faith in the Emperor, and it seems understandable that they would do this."

Mira explained from another perspective: "We have to go back after all, and we still have to deal with the demons in the warp. These statues do need to be preserved."

"With hyperdrive, there's no need to travel through the warp. What's wrong with taking down some statues for that?"

Martin shook his head and said, "If they really care about the Emperor, they should consider the interests of the Empire and demand the unification of the two methods."

"If they are sabotaging on purpose, it proves that they are bad enough to put the interests of the Adeptus Mechanicus above the Imperium."

These accompanying priests actually have average status within the Mechanicus, and may not understand what the Emperor's faith is.

……

"This is blasphemy and must not be allowed."

"Lieutenant Sidonus, you are a great Space Marine, the Angel of Death of the Empire. How can you watch this happen?"

"Today we have to tear down the Emperor's statue just for an engine. I dare not even think about what we will do tomorrow!"

The priests, whose bodies had undergone various transformations, surrounded Sidonus and prayed to him humbly.

If the priests had taken strong measures, Sidonus would have responded by driving them away.

But one by one they knelt down and begged for mercy, standing on the moral high ground and pleading humbly.

Sidonus had no choice. This was absolute political correctness. He had to go back. If this matter got out, the Second Company would be investigated or even executed.

"So this matter is so serious!"

Martin shook his head. He didn't care about these priests. He was helpless as he looked at the shipyard workers who were sitting nearby watching the show.

"If you've had enough of the trouble, get back on the boat."

Martin didn't say to these guys who were either bad or stupid, or maybe both bad and stupid: "The hyperdrive can bring the Empire into a whole new era. If you really care about the Emperor, get out of here right now."

His tolerance for the evils of the Warhammer world has reached its limit, and if any of these idiots dare to jump out and cause trouble, he will draw his gun and kill them immediately.

"roll roll roll!"

Martin's anger and dissatisfaction were evident.

Sidonus thought something was wrong and immediately ordered his men to drive all the priests back to the ship.

Martin didn't look at Sidonus, but at the rabbit staff who greeted them at the port, and finally felt relieved:

"I'm sorry to have embarrassed you. If possible, I hope to complete the modification of the spacecraft as soon as possible and only install a hyperdrive."

"Ok!"

The rabbit staff member looked at Martin, then looked at the Space Marines standing behind him, shook his big ears, and said nothing more.

"Company commander..."

Martin interrupted Sidonus and said dissatisfiedly:
"The environment in the empire is indeed very harsh, and everyone lives in dire straits. In order to survive, even if the empire made several major strategic mistakes, people are still willing to fight for this community."

"But some idiots take the blood shed by countless civilians for granted and as the price they pay for their willful behavior. Isn't this a joke?" Sidonus stopped talking. He had nothing to say, even though he was also dissatisfied in his heart. He felt that Space Marines were superior to humans. Without them, how could mortals resist the evil gods of the Warp.

"Space Marines are nothing special!"

The shipyard workers entered the dock again. Martin said coldly to the officer who was approaching, "Don't take yourselves too seriously. Every grain you eat, every resource you use for transformation, every bullet you fire... Is there any that is not raw material dug up by mortals, processed and transformed by mortals, and transported by mortals?"

Martin no longer expected these officers to understand him; he was just venting his dissatisfaction.

"After the engine is installed, we will find a planet with a fast rotation speed. Go back to where you came from!"

Martin stated his decision resolutely and was extremely disappointed with the behavior of these soldiers.

The Extreme Marines did not expect their captain to suddenly say such a thing, and they could not understand how they had offended him.

Sidonus was struck by lightning, and he hated the priests of the Mechanicus in his heart. If it weren't for them, why would the captain be so angry with him?

When Martin saw him like this, he knew that he had no idea why he was angry.

"I will give you one last piece of advice. The people of the Empire fight for a better tomorrow, not for you bigwigs to take their lives and use stupid decisions to drag the Empire into the abyss."

Martin raised his hand, silencing Sidonus from saying anything more.

"Mira, let all the soldiers who are proficient in machinery and engineering work with the workers and let them learn as much as possible about the hyperdrive."

"Yes!"

Mira saw the hopeful and peaceful order on Al Star and suddenly understood why the captain was angry.

She ignored the glares from the Ultramarines and assigned her warriors to work with the workers in the shipyard.

Martin was not angry because of the current behavior of the Mechanicus or the Ultramarines, but because these people had no intention of changing.

These people are so obsessed with fighting despair that they forget how to grasp hope.

He knew better that the truly responsible thing to do was to stay with them until they understood what real life was like.

But Martin didn't have such conditions, nor did he have enough time.

"Get ready!"

Martin only left these words to Sidonus, then left the port and returned to Al Star again. He no longer had any fixed purpose, but just wandered around alone.

He tried to understand the news in the universe, and heard news about the Green Lantern Corps, the Reach Zerg, the Zanian bounty hunter Wolf, and the planet Tamaran.

Merchants on Al were discussing various news, which was enough to prove that the universe had become active.

Martin believes that the turmoil in the universe will soon spread to the earth, and a series of good dramas will gradually unfold on that seemingly inconspicuous planet.

After ninety-six standard hours, the sun in the sky of Al gradually moved westward, and the entire planet began to gradually fall into darkness.

Alxing's service robot found Martin and told him that the transformation of the three spaceships had been completed and the purchased goods had been delivered to the spaceships.

"Thank you!"

Martin, who was enjoying a special liquor, drank it all and followed the robot back to the port.

All the Ultramarines stood in front of the spaceship, waiting in line for Martin.

“It still hasn’t changed!”

Martin looked at the spaceship whose appearance had not changed, said only one sentence in his heart, and then waved his hand for everyone to get on board.
