Magic Academy Bans Harem
Chapter 339 The End
Chapter 339 The End
Amidst the violent earthquake, Millie and "Sylvie" arrived at the outside of the Golden Mansion immediately.
Outside the room, the two saw an incredibly bizarre sight.
The entire White Stone City, or rather, everything within their sight, was shaking violently. But this shaking felt different from an earthquake; it was more like the surreal sensation of throwing a stone into water, causing the surface and its reflection to sway.
There's even a comical feeling that everything in the space is anthropomorphized and constantly twisting its waist.
"What exactly is going on!?"
Although there were still many things she hadn't had a chance to discuss with Sylvie, the entire space was undergoing a dramatic transformation, and Millie couldn't help but be drawn to the scene before her.
"Shouldn't we be asking you? Nothing like this happened before you came along."
Sylvie frowned, glanced around briefly, and replied without much panic.
"I"
Millie wanted to say something, but her voice was completely drowned out by the deafening roar that followed.
Suddenly, the top layer of the space where the white boulder was located cracked open.
A blinding white light streamed straight in through the crack in the sky. The area enveloped by that beam of light instantly turned into a void of white, leaving nothing behind.
"how come."
Sylvie found the crack in the sky even more unbelievable than the wiping light that shone in.
What appears to be merely humanity's last "market" located underground is actually situated in a space almost entirely disconnected from the original world. Otherwise, the monsters that can move freely beneath the surface as if they were nothing would have already conquered this place.
In other words, even if someone could break through the ceiling of this space, the scene wouldn't be what it is today.
Following the crack in the sky wall, Millie could see directly into the gray sky outside.
At this moment, the sky outside looked like a series of perfectly intact photographs, torn to shreds. Terrifying cracks were everywhere, with pieces missing here and there.
Having recently experienced something similar, Millie immediately realized what was happening in the outside world.
The end of the region.
This snow-capped mountain region is very likely to be destroyed soon.
But she had only just arrived in this area; she hadn't even had a chance to do anything yet. And even including her companions, those two were still lying in hospital beds!
Who exactly is it?
Suddenly, Millie thought of the subtle number of gaps on the golden apple tree, which seemed to have been there from the beginning. She also thought of the completely sealed-off "Tin Man" area.
This world of "bedtime reading" doesn't exist entirely for them. So, could it be that while they're conquering the "Pigeon" area, other "stories" are unfolding in parallel in other areas?
Screams and screams erupted throughout the white ancient city. In the face of this sudden disaster, almost everyone was fleeing for their lives, trying to avoid the white light that would completely "wipe out" anyone who was touched by it.
Millie, however, remained where she was, raising her head to try and see what was happening outside through the crack.
Even though it looked as if the sky had been torn open, the gap was still very limited, preventing Millie from seeing the crucial scene.
As if sensing Millie's anxiety, another series of violent sounds reverberated. The crack above the space where the white giant city was located suddenly expanded more than tenfold, revealing more of the destructive white light and the outside world to Millie.
But Millie couldn't even feel happy about the better view.
Besides the white light, other things followed the crack in the sky and fell straight into the "market" along with the collapsed mountain wall.
One type is something resembling silvery droplets, embedded in the gaps between various falling objects. However, these tiny droplets, no bigger than a thumb, contain destructive energy condensed to its extreme. The moment they touch anything upon falling, they instantly trigger a violent explosion that reduces everything around them to dust.
The other type is something like a branch of a tree that has been cut off.
However, this branch is simply too enormous.
It wasn't an exaggerated description of it being like a mountain; it really was a "mountain" falling from the sky.
For a moment, the crack in the sky seemed to be completely blocked by this enormous branch, which resembled a continuous mountain range. But it didn't hold for long. As more tearing sounds appeared, the mountain wall above the white city finally couldn't hold on and began to collapse in all directions.
Huge branches were falling on everyone who was stuck in the "market".
Faced with the shadow of annihilation that seemed to have materialized, Millie also began to flee.
Sylvie had long since disappeared.
Even though Millie had used everything she could, transforming herself into a bolt of lightning and flying horizontally, a pure and enormous black shadow still lingered over her.
For a fleeting moment, Millie even doubted whether there was any safe area left in the entire space. She even felt a sense of despair, wondering what would happen even if she managed to escape.
Finally, Millie, having exhausted all her strength, knelt on one knee, frozen at the edge of the collapsing shadow.
Millie was almost out of the market area, and it seemed that with just a little more effort, she could avoid being crushed by the giant branches. But that final distance was so far away for her, who was already exhausted.
Just as Millie sighed, feeling that she could only pin her hopes on an uncertain "next time," she realized that...
A green branch suddenly stretched out from the side, scooped up Millie, and flung her far away to safety.
boom!
The huge branch crashed to the ground.
However, the aftershocks of its fall caused the ancient city, which had stood for countless ages, to collapse in large sections like building blocks.
"Miss Alan."
Amidst the devastating impact, Millie, tossed about by forces of indistinguishable origin, finally crashed into a mountainside, dazed and disoriented. With great difficulty, she softly murmured the name of the figure that had appeared beside her.
"Sigh, if you weren't so sturdy, it would save you some trouble."
As Alan said this, he hoisted Millie onto his shoulder and prepared to leave the market.
Perhaps because of what she had experienced, Millie showed an unusual composure in the face of such a cataclysmic disaster among the people she knew in this world, whether it was Alan or Sylvie.
Or perhaps it's apathy or indifference.
"Can you take me to the outside world where I can see everything clearly?"
Millie said with difficulty.
"."
As if he hadn't heard Millie's words, Alan didn't change his direction or respond.
"This is the end, there will be no tomorrow. So, no matter how painful or desperate you are, at least go and witness it."
Millie, who had been injured in some unpleasant places during the previous catastrophe, spoke again with heavy breathing.
This time, Alan stopped in his tracks. Then he looked up at the sky, which was now completely "outside" except for a limited area that could be seen, and pondered for a moment.
"Alright, since this is the last one..."
After letting out a soft breath, Alan changed direction. Millie, who had been somewhat disoriented along the way, didn't know how much time had passed.
When she opened her eyes again, she found herself stranded in a desert filled with gray sand and dust.
How long has it been since she returned to the ground?
Millie didn't know.
Because at this moment, the sky outside was in a much worse condition than what was seen through the "small window," making it impossible to distinguish between day and night.
The entire sky appears either distorted, fragmented, or displays bizarre and wonderful colors.
In a fragmented and bizarre world that can only be seen after consuming large quantities of poisonous mushrooms.
There were only earth-shattering sounds of fighting.
Struggling to straighten up, Millie saw Alan's figure. Then she saw Alan staring blankly at a corner of the sky.
Looking in that direction, Millie saw a "pseudo-World Tree".
The pseudo-World Tree, which had expanded dozens of times compared to its original size, now occupied most of the entire snow mountain area. No matter how far away you were, most of your field of vision would still be filled by the pseudo-World Tree.
At the top of this pseudo-world tree, a green human face protruded from the withered canopy.
That face was distorted, ferocious, and ugly. And there was basically only one face.
A huge green human face roared and howled like a wounded beast.
"This face"
Millie looked at the "tree man" that seemed poised to devour the entire world with astonishment.
Even though it has become so ugly that less than one-tenth of its original form remains.
But for some reason, Millie was able to recognize her.
Tree Witch.
That was the face of Livis, the Tree Witch and headmistress of Erles Academy.
By now, Millie no longer believes any of the sights she witnessed in the snow-capped mountains to be believable. Furthermore, she suspects that this region is a chaotic world created from the memories and perceptions of some madman.
Admittedly, the scenery in this area is far from a "fairytale." But the distance between these scenes and "reality" is even greater than the distance between them and a fairytale.
"What I saw before wasn't an illusion. It really was 'Estria'."
Millie had completely lost trust in the information of this world, and even felt that what she saw and experienced here would pollute her cognition.
She heard Alan whispering nearby.
Estria.
This was undoubtedly an unfamiliar name to Millie.
If she vaguely remembered the name "Aran," she was certain that this was the first time she had ever heard of Estria.
It was Alan's whisper that made Millie realize that what Alan was gazing at was not the Tree Witch who had turned into a tree person.
On the other side of the "world," a figure, like a speck of dust compared to the world-destroying treant, was wielding a magic wand and fighting the treant in the sky.
All the destruction in this area was caused by the fierce battle between the two sides.
It can be vaguely seen that the "Estria" mentioned by Alan is a girl, a silver-haired girl.
Although she could barely see clearly, Millie couldn't help but cup a strand of her hair that was naturally falling to the ground in her palm as she looked at Estria.
Millie wasn't bragging. Both she and Estria had radiant, beautiful silver hair that, while silver-gray, didn't have a hint of weariness or dryness.
In the sky, Estria, holding her magic wand, condensed a drop of silver liquid.
The next moment, many parts of her body lit up with fluorescent patterns that seemed to be magic circles. Then, Estria, who had acted like a mage before, conjured a longsword in her hand and slashed at the silver droplet she had condensed with a strike that caused the surrounding space to collapse instantly.
Although the distance is too great to discern many details, and considering that the differences in swordsmanship are only observed from the sidelines, there isn't actually that much difference between them.
But Millie still recognized it; it was swordsmanship from the "Elson style."
The silver liquid that was struck suddenly burst forth with intense energy, tearing through the sky like a silver spear, adding a touch of silver light to the colorful heavens, and piercing straight at the pseudo World Tree Treant with Livis's face.
While Estria launched her attack, the treants were not idle either.
She, who had been roaring, gathered a ball of fire in front of her.
That flame was like a real sun igniting the sky. However, for some reason, the inside of this flame looked as if liquid was flowing.
To some extent, what Estria and the Treant condensed were extremely similar substances, differing only in color and size.
In an instant, as Estria's silver light pierced through, several enormous magic circles, seemingly slicing through the entire world, appeared in front of the "sun."
With a roar from the treant, a thick ball of fire shot through the magic circles and exploded, instantly igniting the entire sky.
"!"
Millie, seemingly forgetting her injuries, stared wide-eyed.
Although the release process is somewhat different, what is blooming in the sky is undoubtedly one of the Tree Witch's signature spells, "Eclipse," which added a psychological shadow to her heart at the end of the first semester!
In an instant, the silver light collided with the solar eclipse, producing a violent explosion that not only further shattered the entire world but also caused large swathes of desert to be overturned.
Despite the seemingly vastly different sizes and scales, Estria's magic displayed a power comparable to that of a solar eclipse.
In a world that had been turned upside down, many of the rules that allowed the world to survive were immediately shattered.
Millie was instantly reduced to ashes across the entire desert by the aftershocks of the collision between the two world-destroying spells.
As the golden apple, transformed into golden particles, enveloped her and was returned, in the final moments, she witnessed a scene even more profoundly moving than the previous solar eclipse.
Then, the light of the solar eclipse faded.
In contrast to the treant that was still roaring in anger, countless silver droplets had already gathered around Estria.
With each lightning-fast slash, the silver light, increasing in quantity but not diminishing in power, rained down upon the pseudo-World Tree Treant with Livis's face.
Amidst countless silver rays of light, a vast black mist seemed to emanate from the treant, capable of instantly enveloping its entire body. But along with the treant, that fleeting black mist was completely submerged in a white light of annihilation.
