Chapter 9 Classmates

"So you must be a Slytherin?" The pale face of the thin blond young man in front of him flushed a little. "I will go to Hogwarts this year. I dare say I will be a most standard Slytherin..."

"Draco." The man who was obviously the father stopped his son's chattering and tapped his stick on the worn wooden floor of Ollivander's Wand Shop. "Remember? First, introduce yourself."

"Oh, I remember, Dad." Although Draco tried hard to pull his eyes away from Ivy's gorgeous Slytherin relic robes and put on a proud expression, everyone could see his envy.

He held out a hand and introduced himself in a drawling voice: "Draco Malfoy, first year at Hogwarts, I bet I'm a Slytherin."

Ivy extended her hand to shake his, and introduced herself: "Ivy Doom, like you, I'm also a freshman at Hogwarts."

"You're a freshman too?" The younger Malfoy's voice seemed to become a little shrill because of surprise, but he cleared his throat before the elder Malfoy frowned and regained his pretentious aristocratic demeanor, "But you're wearing... Oh - I see! Maybe I should learn from Ivy's confidence? Dad?"

"Obvious ambition and self-confidence? I think this is exactly the quality that Salazar Slytherin himself likes." Old Malfoy's aristocratic manner was more sophisticated and more disgusting, especially his slightly raised chin, which made Ivy hate him from the bottom of his heart, and it was definitely not because of the difference in perspective brought about by the height.

"Why don't you ask your classmate where he had his robe made? Maybe I can order one for you." Old Malfoy continued with his suggestions.

Little Malfoy turned his head and stared at Ivy with eager eyes.

Ivy declined: "Slytherin relic robes, I think... it's a bit old."

"What a pity..." Old Malfoy shook his head to express his regret and wanted to say something else.

But Ollivander, the shopkeeper, had returned from the room behind the counter, holding a wand box lined with purple velvet.

"Mr. Doom!" Ollivander exclaimed enthusiastically, handing the wand case to Ivy. "I think it is absolutely my grandfather's finest work! Silver lime tree and phoenix tail feathers, fifteen and a half inches, a gorgeous and wonderful combination, which can show powerful advantages in Legilimency and Divination!"

"Leilimy and prophecy?" Ivy raised his eyebrows as he looked at the pale silver wand. It turned out that more than a hundred years ago, people sought after silver basswood because of this quality.

"That's right." Ollivander rubbed his hands, looking eager to learn about the capabilities of this wand. "Try it, Mr. Doom. If it's not suitable, we can choose another one for you."

It was certainly not the first time that Ivy raised a wand, but the wand in his hand was different from all the wands he had used before. The magic flowing through it was as smooth as eating Dove.

He shook the tip of his wand gently, and a dazzling silver light gushed out from it, transforming into a gorgeous phoenix in the air. It flew around the cramped wand shop once before exploding into a sky full of light.

"Perfect!" Ollivander shouted excitedly, "I think I will never forget this scene. You are destined to go down in the history of magic, Mr. Doom."

Ivy nodded with satisfaction, put away the wand, and then asked: "After all, you came to pick it up more than a hundred years late. I wonder how much the storage fee will be..."

"No need." Ollivander shook his head vigorously, and his silver hair fluttered. "The scene just now is enough!" Ivy thanked him again and walked out of the wand shop. When he passed by the Malfoy family, he whispered, "Excuse me."

After watching Ivy leave, Lucius Malfoy patted his son on the shoulder and said, "In addition to Harry Potter, you also have to have a good relationship with him. Remember, Draco."

Seeing his son nod, Lucius took out a few gold Galleons from his pocket and said, "Perhaps a few gold Galleons can help you make a few extra requests from Madam Malkin. However, it's best if you go alone. I'll buy your textbooks, and Mom will help you with your wand. We need to go home early today."

Little Malfoy took the gold coin from his father, cheered, and left Ollivander's Wand Shop.

Walking in Diagon Alley, Ivy checked her shopping list. Now only the wand was completed.

He still needed six textbooks for his first year, at least three sets of plain school uniforms with name tags, Potions utensils - that is, cauldrons, crystal flasks, scales and dragonhide gloves, and a telescope for astronomy.

Potions and astronomy equipment were easy to solve. Ivy remembered that there were quite a few old ones in the Room of Requirement. However, he was not short of that little bit of money. Any problem that could be solved with gold galleons was not a problem at all.

"Then let's start with books." Ivy decided that the next target would be Flourish and Blotts, but he would not buy any additional books for entertainment because the collection of books in Hogwarts was enough, and there was also a treasure trove like the Restricted Books Section.

Ivy was a little happy because he had plenty of time to spend on this, and the first-year homework was not too heavy. Studying magic was his main job.

There are many wizards of all sizes in Flourish and Blotts. Most of them are probably here to prepare for the children's school start, so there are students from every grade.

Ivy noticed that the clerk had already bundled up the books. All he had to do was tell the customer the grade, and he would put the stack of books in the customer's box, then tell the customer a number and wait for the customer to check out.

While waiting in line, Ivy looked around Flourish and Blotts. In addition to the students queuing for textbooks, there were also many young wizards interested in other books who were standing among the wooden bookshelves, trying to find their favorite books.

There was a girl with bright golden hair that caught Ivy's attention. Judging from her height, she might be enrolled in school with Ivy, or she might be a year or two older.

Ivy went over in his mind all the female characters in the original work that he remembered, but found that none of them matched the character.

This made him sigh with satisfaction: "This is indeed a real world. In addition to the scenes described in the seven novels, there are many other vivid characters existing in this world."

Perhaps noticing Ivy's gaze, the girl raised her head from the book.

Her slanted eyes and teardrop mole make her look noble and majestic. Her emerald eyes and bright golden long hair also complement each other. She is a girl who can easily leave a deep impression on others.

Seeing the girl's gaze, Ivy nodded slightly in response. He was not going to go up to her and get to know her now. There was always plenty of time in Hogwarts, wasn't there?
