Chapter 333 Sharing Secrets
Chapter 333 Sharing Secrets
"You have a fire dragon?" Furong stared at Norbeta, looking left and right. Cassandra was feeding her bonded partner. "No wonder you are not afraid of them at all!"
"I'm not afraid of fire dragons, not because I have one. It's because I know very well that fire dragons can't pose any threat to me." Ivy corrected, "It is precisely because of this mentality that I would raise a fire dragon."
"Okay, okay, I already know that you are the most powerful wizard of our time, there is no need to emphasize this point again and again!" Fleur rolled her eyes, "So, this is the secret you want to share with me."
"It's one of the secrets." Ivy said lazily. Although it was already December, magic ensured that he could enjoy the warm winter sun in the open rocky area. "I have more than one secret."
"That blonde girl is also one of your secrets?" Fleur said with a mischievous smile, "She seems to be very popular among Slytherin students, but she comes here to help you..."
"Miss Delacour, my relationship with Lord Ivy is much closer than you think." Cassandra stopped the work in her hands and interrupted Fleur's question with a frown. Norbeta, sensing the emotions of the contractor, also stopped eating and let out a threatening roar at Fleur.
"Wow!" This little dragon with many thorns was more intimidating than it looked. Furong couldn't help but take a step back. "You are so fierce! Little guy! But I am a witch who just defeated a full-grown fire dragon. I won't be afraid of a little guy like you!"
"I don't think that passing by a sleeping dragon can be considered as defeating it, especially since your robe was caught on fire by the snoring of the Welsh green dragon." Cassandra ruthlessly exposed Fleur's bragging, and even Norberta, who had a telepathic connection with her, laughed harshly.
Furong was not embarrassed or shy at all when being laughed at. In her opinion, being able to complete the first task of the Triwizard Tournament was already proof that she had conquered the dragon. But now, she was concerned about something else.
"A fire dragon... can actually laugh?" Furong asked in surprise, "This is too weird!"
Norbeta's laughter was not pleasant to the ear. Instead, it sounded more like the sound of some rusty door hinge that had been in disrepair for a long time, even more harsh than its hissing and howling.
"Fire dragons are very smart creatures, and Norbeta is a genius among them. Besides, there is my magic. I am not surprised that it has learned to laugh. Maybe one day, it will be able to speak." Ivy answered casually, flipping through the magic book in his hand for entertainment.
"Let a fire dragon speak?" Furong asked in surprise, "Why do you have such an idea?"
"Because I believe the secrets of magic can do that."
Nobeta was now considered Cassandra's pet, and among the many pet templates, there were quite a few that could speak, and some could even transform into human form. Ivy believed that as long as he continued to study the magic contract, sooner or later he would be able to make Nobeta speak, and even make it a real dragon that could cast spells.
"The secret of magic." Furong sighed, "You always mention this word."
"Because that is Lord Ivy's lifelong pursuit." Cassandra said immediately, and it was hard not to notice the other meaning of her words.
Furong stared at Cassandra with a smile for a few seconds, then asked, "So... this beautiful blonde girl is really not your fiancée? The kind of marriage that pure-blood wizard families in Britain use to strengthen their blood ties?"
"No." Ivy turned another page of the magic book in his hand. "Although the British magic world is indeed quite corrupt, it has not reached that level yet."
"Really?" Fleur joked with a smile, "You even have a queen! And we in France are a republic for the people!"
It is impossible for the magical society hidden in the Muggle society to be completely isolated from the influence of Muggles.
This is just like British wizards still speak English and French wizards still speak French. Wizards have not developed a unique language that is different from Muggles, which proves that apart from magic, they still have all the attributes of Muggles, including the unique culture and eating habits of each country.
As an old revolutionary base in Europe, France naturally has a cultural background that despises all ancient traditions and bloodlines, not to mention that Britain is their mortal enemy that they have been fighting for a thousand years.
Although Fleur, as a witch, didn't know much about the history of France's founding, she at least knew that this country nominally belonged to her people, rather than worshipping a queen like Britain across the Channel.
"Yes, the Republic was established five times." Ivy agreed, and then put away the spell book in his hand that he had finished reading. "Cassandra is my spellcaster, not my fiancée."
"Bound magician?" This was another new word for Furong. "Will she fight for you?"
"I will fight in the name of Lord Ivy, yes." Cassandra straightened her back and said proudly.
"The magician means that we share magic power through a magic contract." Ivy stood up from the chair and also came to Nobeta's nest, reaching out to gently stroke the fine scales on the little dragon's neck.
"A black magic contract." Nobeta squinted his eyes and enjoyed the caress of Ivy's fingers, humming with satisfaction.
"Dark Arts?" The word made Fleur uneasy. "I didn't know you knew that... I thought you were Professor Dumbledore's successor..."
"I study all types of magic, whether it's black magic or white magic, ancient magic or modern magic." Ivy did not stop what he was doing, but moved his fingers to Norbeta's head covered with thorns. "Also... Dumbledore never taught me personally. We are more like partners than teacher and student."
Furong gave a dry laugh, seemingly not understanding what Ivy said: "…Why are you telling me this?"
"Because we are in a romantic relationship, I think it is very necessary to improve our understanding of each other." Ivy stopped stroking the little dragon's head and turned to look at Furong, ignoring Norbeta's claws trying to stop him. "And I happen to be a person with many secrets."
"...Share a secret?" Furong breathed a sigh of relief, her soft silver hair reflecting the warmth of the winter sun. "Your secret is indeed fascinating... Wait!"
Furong's face flushed: "...I haven't heard that we are...in love..."
"Really?" Ivy smiled, "I thought you liked me?" "Do I like you?" Furong's expression was full of surprise, as if she was hearing about this for the first time. Cassandra, who had witnessed the whole thing, rolled her eyes.
"Hmm..." Furong only raised her head to think for a second before she couldn't help but break her composure, "Haha... so let's just take it as that? But I don't have any secrets to share..."
"I'm a French girl, and I have a sister named Gabrielle, who you've seen was kidnapped by the Phantom of the Opera... I go to school at Beauxbatons, a school that gave birth to the greatest alchemist in the world! I'm envied by all the girls in the school, and that's easy to see... Well, I also have a Veela grandmother, and you found that out when you checked the wands... In fact, apart from my stunning beauty, I'm pretty shallow - especially compared to Mr. Doom, who is so powerful and proficient in countless magics, and is considered the best in modern times?" Fleur shook her body and counted her secrets. Rather than sharing secrets with Ivy, it would be better to say that she was showing off her graceful body curves.
"Admitting your own shallowness is the beginning of the road to self-improvement." Ivy stared at Furong with admiration for a while and then said, "Compared to the endless mysteries in the universe, everyone in the world is shallow, but this does not prevent us from continuing to explore the unknown."
Fleur chuckled twice, and seemed very satisfied with Ivy's gaze lingering on her waist. Beauxbatons' shorter silk cloak revealed a section of her fair skin at this position. "You are really good at speaking such big truths. Do you need me to call you professor? Professor Doom?"
"If you consider this as part of flirting, then I won't refuse." Ivy's focus shifted back to Furong's face.
"I want to ask a question! Professor Doom!" Fleur really raised her arm obediently as if she was taking a magic class.
"Ask, Miss Delacour." Ivy perfectly demonstrated the demeanor of a professor, raising his hand slightly to signal. His expression seemed nonchalant, but his eyes told you that he was listening carefully.
"Why do you bring another girl from the lower grade with you when you are dating your student? It seems like she shouldn't step into the adult realm yet!" No one knew whether this was Furong's long-planned counterattack or a spur-of-the-moment response.
"Good question." Ivy praised, "Because the relationship between Cassandra and I is indeed beyond your imagination. The contract between the magician and the master is not just about sharing magic power. Her soul also belongs to me."
"Soul?" Furong looked shocked. "Is that what I'm thinking of? You control the soul of an ignorant girl?"
"I offered it voluntarily... for my own goals." Cassandra lowered her eyes.
"Because I will solve something for her, even if it means sacrificing myself. After that task is completed, her soul will belong to me and she will serve me for the rest of her life." Ivy did not think that the relationship between the magician and the sect leader needed to be concealed.
"For many wizards, the favor of Lord Ivy is unimaginable. He will not only grant me power, but also knowledge." Cassandra looked at Fleur and shook her head, "And you are not qualified. Judging from the current situation, I don't think you will stay with Lord Ivy for too long, especially when you think you are shallow."
"At least I'm an adult!" Fleur, who had been thinking about defending Cassandra, immediately threw the matter out of her mind and retorted, "Besides, I'm a Beauxbatons warrior and will dance with Ivy at the Christmas ball! And you, can only hide in the audience and cry secretly!"
"Ball?" Cassandra was a little confused, because no Hogwarts professor had mentioned this matter. "So this is why the opening notice requires fourth-year students to prepare dress robes."
"You don't know about this yet?" Fleur looked a little surprised. "I thought you were going to invite me to dance with you today! No wonder you didn't ask for a moment. By the way, the Triwizard Tournament should allow two warriors to dance together, right?"
"I don't think you need to worry too much about the rules, Fleur." Ivy answered Fleur's question very naturally, "They will want to see you standing with me."
Furong nodded, then shook her head and said, "Perhaps you chose to study the dark arts because you don't care about the rules."
"Studying black magic doesn't mean I have to use it to do evil. Black magic is just a means, and wizards are the ones who can really use magic to achieve their goals." Ivy explained that this kind of conversation is also a means for both parties in a relationship to understand each other's ideas. "If we use black magic for a noble reason, can it still be called black magic?"
Fleur shook her head in disapproval and said, "Prove it to me. A magic master as great as you must know how to use dark magic to achieve a noble purpose, right?"
Ivy stared at Fleur's face for a long time, then suddenly smiled.
"Okay, but this is another one of my secrets."
A breeze gushed out from Ivy's robe and lifted him up lightly. The breeze soon enveloped Fleur and Cassandra's feet, making them both float in the air.
This is the group flight ability of [Invocation of Wind Element]. Although Apparition is not possible within the range of Hogwarts, Ivy still has other means of fast travel. Flying in the air is a spell-like ability that combines coolness and elegance.
"Come with me." Ivy's voice comforted Furong, who seemed a little panicked because her feet left the ground. "We are going to go deeper into the forbidden forest."
"You can actually take other people flying with you?" Furong asked in surprise, "Professor Doom, please teach me this!"
"I don't think you are strong enough to master this kind of magic at your current level," Cassandra said coldly. Somehow, she was obviously hostile to Fleur.
"Can't you hear that I'm flirting with Ivy, Steve?" Furong was not angry at all, she just asked with her big eyes blinking.
Cassandra seemed a little depressed and turned her head away and stopped talking to Furong.
While Ivy was turning around, Furong secretly made a scissors gesture to him.
There should be another chapter soon, I'm really stuck...
