Chapter 193 Common Room

Chapter 193 Common Room

Harry still felt his mind was dull as he headed to the Great Hall for lunch.

The three-headed runesnake, the basilisk in the chamber of secrets, the phoenix singing the song of courage, the Room of Requirement connecting two eras, and the Potions professor who came back from the dead.

These things alone would be enough to talk about in the common room for a whole day. If the person who went through all of this was Professor Lockhart, perhaps a few more Defense Against the Dark Arts textbooks would have to be added.

Oh, and now you can't call Lockhart "Professor".

Harry thought angrily.

"The monster in the Chamber of Secrets turned out to be a basilisk. Lockhart is such a liar. If he hadn't said that he had dealt with the monster in the Chamber of Secrets, I wouldn't have been so careless as to walk into Myrtle's bathroom."

"Harry! You heard from the portraits that you went to the headmaster's office? Did you get into trouble again?" Harry had just walked into the hall when he ran into his good friend Hermione.

Harry hesitated for a long time, and finally said: "This... is very complicated... In fact, I don't quite understand it... and Professor Dumbledore forbids me to tell anyone."

But he promised to explain everything after the Christmas holidays. Hopefully, by "everything" Professor Dumbledore meant any questions I could ask.

Harry thought silently.

"Well..." Hermione's suspicious eyes turned around his face again and again, and finally decided to change the subject, "We didn't have lunch in the Great Hall. The headmaster's portrait had called everyone in the castle to the Great Hall, and it was time for lunch at that time, so the deans invited everyone to eat after setting up defensive spells. As a result, a large group of cats and knaves ran out from nowhere, almost ruined all the food on the table, and even chased Ron's mice all over the floor."

"Everyone now thinks those Kneazles are Dumbledore's Christmas surprise, right down to the cat hair on the plates," Hermione concluded.

Harry smiled. He knew that those Kneazles were all raised by Ivy. "Why would anyone think that? It was just an accident, just like the other magical creatures that appeared in the castle before."

"Oh, Fred and George's work." Hermione shrugged. "Not hard to guess, right?"

"How's Scabbers? Is he okay?" Harry asked. When they had a conflict with the Malfoy trio before, Scabbers had bravely bit Crabbe. Harry thought that he shouldn't be eaten by Ivy's Kneazle like that.

"You know what, that fat mouse ran so fast! Even a group of kneazles couldn't catch it." Hermione laughed. This was the first time Harry saw her laugh so happily during the Christmas holidays. It seemed that she no longer took Lockhart's homework seriously.

Thinking of this, Harry couldn't help but start to worry about Hermione. How disappointed she would be if she knew that Lockhart was just a big liar.

"Thanks to Scabbers, the Kneazles left the Great Hall, otherwise our lunch would have been completely ruined," said Hermione. "They ran all the way to the Gryffindor Tower!"

"Grumble--" Harry's stomach growled. After playing snowball fights all morning and experiencing such a thrilling moment, he was already hungry.

"Professor McGonagall had the food delivered to the common room, and I asked them to save a portion for you." Hermione said sympathetically, walking towards the Gryffindor Tower with Harry.

"Beeswax." This was the password for today, and the fat lady turned around to make way.

The atmosphere in the common room was as cheerful as ever. Fred and George were each holding a Kneazle and chasing their younger brother around. Ginny, with her flaming red hair, was screaming beside them, showing none of the shyness that Harry had seen at the Burrow.

When Harry got a little closer, he saw that Ron was holding a hamster wheel in his hand, and the one holding the cage in panic was Scabbers.

"Get those stinky cats away!" Ron shouted as he ran, "If Professor McGonagall finds out you put a Kneazle in the common room, you'll forget about learning Professor Victor's spell!" "It's Christmas vacation now, Professor McGonagall won't make things difficult for herself!" The Kneazle in George's hand almost grabbed the hood of Ron's robe.

"That's right! Let Scabbers get some love with these little cuties!" Fred shouted. "Dumbledore isn't completely crazy! He just doesn't know if we can keep them."

Of course not.

Because those Kneazles were all owned by Ivy, Harry thought as he stuffed his sandwich into his mouth.

After the three brothers ran around the common room a few more times, Fred and George finally gave up chasing them, and Ron was able to catch his breath.

He threw the hamster wheel with Scabbers in front of Harry and panted, "Hey, buddy... watch it for me for a while... I just had a meal... I really can't do strenuous exercise... I have a stomachache..."

Harry's mouth was busy chewing, so he could only nod and move his plate in the opposite direction.

The hamster wheel with Spotted on it was very exquisite. Harry knew that it was a Christmas gift from Ivy to Ron. It must have been made by him himself, but he couldn't tell what was so magical about it for the time being.

"Hey!?" The Weasley twins shouted in surprise in the common room, attracting everyone's attention.

"Where's the Kneazle? I've already thought of a name for it! Alexander the Great!" Fred complained.

The twins' hands were empty, with only a little bit of brown hair left to prove that the two cat-kins had once existed.

Ron quickly put the hamster wheel into his robes. He thought it was a trick played by his two brothers. He was often fooled when he was a child, so he was not so naive and defenseless now.

But Harry knew everything.

Ivy and Dumbledore came to the unanimous conclusion that the two Kneazles had simply returned to the Room of Requirement more than a hundred years ago.

This is how Ivy's phoenix disappeared before Harry left the headmaster's office.

At that time, Professor Dumbledore invited it to eat some of Fawkes's snacks. The phoenix left the perch with its front feet and disappeared in the air with its hind feet.

Ivy also talked about some difficult words like "space-time structure" and "time paradox", which Harry could neither spell nor understand.

He only knew that those magical animals simply returned to where they came from, just like the Runespoor that had finally escaped and the Purple Horned Beast that was rampaging in the dungeon.

It was so difficult to restrain himself from telling the truth, and Harry had never been so eager for the holiday to be over.

"It seems to have really disappeared." Ron watched for a long time before taking the hamster wheel out of his arms. Banban also looked relieved.

"Harry, can I have some ham for Scabbers?" Ron looked at the sandwich in Harry's hand.

Harry was completely full now, so he pushed his plate towards Ron.
