Chapter 174 Snape Seeks Help

Chapter 174 Snape Seeks Help

October arrived in the blink of an eye. The damp cold air penetrated into every corner of the castle. The teachers and students of Hogwarts silently added more clothes for themselves.

But even so, it failed to stop the sudden outbreak of colds. Madam Pomfrey, the head nurse of the school hospital, was overwhelmed and had to ask for help from Snape, the professor of Potions, hoping that he could provide a batch of stimulants as a special medicine for colds.

Professor Snape has always been the busiest person in the college. He has to clean up the mess made by clumsy students in class, and often has to deal with conflicts and riots between two colleges after class (even if they are not named, everyone knows which two colleges they are), and he also has to put Harry Potter in detention from time to time, not to mention his own research.

Recently, Snape has a paper to submit to the Extraordinary Apothecary Association, which is about improving the wolfsbane potion. Not long ago, Damocles Belby published a paper on the wolfsbane potion in the Extraordinary Potions journal of the Extraordinary Apothecary Association. As a potion master, Snape saw at a glance that there was still some room for improvement. The raw materials of the wolfsbane potion are too expensive now, and the poor werewolves can't afford it at all.

If this problem can be solved, I believe the Ministry of Magic will not be stingy with an Order of Merlin medal. As a Slytherin who pursues honor, Snape has every reason to pursue it.

"You really gave me a long time to look for you, Mr. Doom." When Ivy, who was sitting in the crup kennel and using the magician's hand to clean the hairy crabs off the puppies' bodies, saw her own dean, she was stunned.

This semester, Ivy had clearly obtained Dumbledore's permission to not attend any classes and to decide her own study plan. Apart from career guidance next semester, she should not have any interaction with Snape.

"What can I do for you, Professor Snape?" Ivy closed the book and asked politely, but he did not get up from his chair, and even the wizard's hand that was fiddling with the crup in the air did not stop.

"Simply put, I need your 'hand'." Snape glanced at the wizard's hand that was catching hairy crabs on the crup and said expressionlessly.

"Oh, I see. They're all there. Please help yourself." Ivy spread his hands, indicating that Snape could help himself.

"Lucius has been writing to me since last Christmas, and he never hesitates to praise you in his letters, Mr. Doom. 'You can lead Slytherin to another glory', is that what he said?" Even though he was muttering words of praise for Ivy, Snape's face remained expressionless, "If you still remember, I am the head of Slytherin..."

"I have OWLs to deal with, Professor." Ivy interrupted Snape's flattery and raised the book in his hand, which was "The Most Toxic Magic" borrowed from the restricted area. "I'm busy with schoolwork!"

Ivy was surprised to see Snape's mouth curled up. "Busy studying the dark arts? I can teach you a few tricks, Mr. Doom."

He took out his wand, pointed it at the dogtail flower on the open ground, and said in a voice close to a whisper: "God's Sharpness Without Shadow."

Without any sound or light effects, the dogtail grass suddenly broke into two pieces.

Ivy narrowed his eyes. He knew that this was Snape's specialty, a silent black magic cutting spell that could only be healed with a specific counter-spell. It was an excellent black magic, and Snape, who invented it, was still studying at Hogwarts.

"Make a refreshing potion for Madam Pomfrey, the head nurse. The ingredients are in the Potions classroom. I allow you to use it after dinner." Snape looked at the expression on Ivy's face with an inquiring look. "When everything is over, I will tell you its counter-spell."

After saying this, Snape left in a hurry without waiting for Ivy's consent. He flew through the corridor of the castle like a bat with its wings spread, said this year's password "Noble Rot Wine" in front of the gargoyles, and then broke into the principal's office on the eighth floor.

"Severus?" Dumbledore had just poured a bottle of misty memories into the Pensieve when he saw Snape with a solemn face. "Whatever you have to say, please take a seat."

Snape moved away from the chair that had run to his bottom. "I think you must know that Ivy Doom is studying the Dark Arts. And this is not the first time I have discovered this. I don't know who gave him the restricted section note."

Dumbledore slowly left the Pensieve and picked up his half-moon glasses that had been placed on the desk. "I gave them to him. I believe Ivy knows his limits."

"Oh? You believe a Hogwarts transfer student who claims to be from more than a hundred years ago but has never been found?" Snape asked, "Did he give you a love potion?"

"Of course not, Severus." Dumbledore smiled, "Ivy is the most talented wizard I have ever seen..."

"I must remind you, Dumbledore," Snape interrupted him, "the last person you commented on in this way was Voldemort."

"Ivy is different from Voldemort," Dumbledore took out a bottle of glittering noble rot wine. He and Ivy had received a lot of it when they left Nicolas Flamel last time. "He knows exactly what he is doing."

"..." Snape was silent for a while, and continued, "It seems that something happened between you that I am not clear about. Perhaps you should know that Lucius Malfoy had too close contact with him."

"You mean the breeding and reproduction base for magical animals?" Dumbledore raised his eyebrows. "When did you find out that Ivy was raising dragons in the castle?"

"He's still raising dragons in the castle?" Snape raised his voice, almost growling, which was unusual for the Potions professor who always spoke in an aria.

"Oh - so you haven't figured it out yet... I allowed you to raise a dragon. Perhaps the Ministry of Magic's permission will be sent to you by owl soon." Dumbledore said briskly, "Then you will be able to use fresh dragon blood."

"Ivy is a talented wizard, perhaps too talented." Dumbledore sighed, "In some ways, he is stronger than me and Voldemort. But don't worry, we are united in destroying Voldemort."

……

Snape was unhappy with the conversation with Dumbledore, so when he saw Harry walking into the castle covered in mud, he didn't do anything extreme. He simply deducted five points from him and asked him to go to Filch to collect his reward.
