Chapter 165 Summer Vacation Memories
Chapter 165 Summer Vacation Memories
Harry had a great summer vacation.
As soon as he got home, his uncle Vernon locked his spell books, wand, robes, cauldron and the top-of-the-line flying broom, the Nimbus 2000 (even after being defeated by Ivy, he refused to admit that the Nimbus 2001 was the top-of-the-line flying broom) in the small, dark cabinet under the stairs.
But at least he still had letters from his friends.
Hagrid sent him a photo album full of moving photos of wizards, and waving and smiling at him on every page were his parents.
Along with the photo album came a text message full of complaints.
"Dear Harry:
I don’t know how you’ve been doing lately, but I haven’t been doing well either.
Those idiots at the Ministry of Magic kept asking repetitive questions, wanting to know where I got all those furry little cuties from.
I know very well that they just want to trick me into saying the word "Chamber of Secrets" so that they can convict me! But this is all nonsense, and Professor Dumbledore knows that I am innocent. "
Harry held the letter up to the light and spelled out the crossed-out word "Chamber of Secrets", but he didn't have a good memory like Hermione to recall a long list of related rumors and stories based on just one word. And he might not have even heard of it at Hogwarts.
Harry continued reading.
"Not only did they forbid me from coming into contact with any magical creatures, they even stopped my job as gamekeeper at Hogwarts! Merlin's beard! I can only (a smear of marks) pass the time by weeding the vegetable fields! But this also gave me time to write to your parents' old classmates and ask them for these photos. I wonder if you like them?"
Harry could imagine the smile on his own lips without looking in the mirror. He noticed that the words that Hagrid had crossed out were unhealthy activities such as "playing cards, drinking", so he considerately forgot about Hagrid's mistake.
"Happy birthday in advance! May everything be going well for you.
Yours faithfully, Hagrid.
PS: If your Muggle relatives dare to bully you when you go home, you can tell me. The next time I meet them, I will let them know not to annoy any wizard! "
Someone still remembered my birthday!
Knowing this made Harry happier than receiving Hagrid's birthday present. Considering that the album was full of photos of his parents, perhaps receiving the gift would make Harry happier.
Harry's other friends at school also sent him letters, especially Ron, who invited Harry to visit his home!
Although Uncle Vernon locked Harry's owl Hedwig in a cage to prevent it from delivering letters to anyone in the wizarding world, he was a Muggle after all and couldn't control the owls that delivered letters to other wizards.
Taking the opportunity of receiving birthday cards, Harry told many friends about his predicament.
So his good buddy Ron, who was usually responsible for giving bad advice and complaining about his two companions' inadequate magical knowledge, came up with a genius idea.
He's going to rescue Harry from Privet Drive in a flying car!
so cool!
Harry read the line over and over again eagerly, fearing that he was hallucinating because he was dizzy and hungry.
He had ridden a broomstick and heard of flying carpets, but he had never known that wizards also had flying cars!
Could it be that this was some kind of "wizard-like" magical disguise, just to avoid attracting the attention of Muggles? But when Harry remembered that his good brother Ron had never even heard of football, he became a little unconfident. Is this flying car really safe?
No. Whether or not the flying car was safe, it was better than starving to death on Privet Drive.
Look at Hedwig's food! Just a few soaked vegetable roots, and remember that she is a snowy owl, a carnivorous bird of prey!
Those few vegetable roots were the best Harry could do, and he himself only had a sip of cold vegetable soup.
But considering that Ron would come to rescue him soon, Harry didn't feel hungry at all.
The hands of the clock tick away, and time passes by every second.
It's almost time, it's almost time, in one minute, his birthday will come. Tomorrow he won't have to endure the ugly faces of the Dursleys and the surprised eyes of their Muggle customers, the Masons, and can play happily in the wizarding world.
Lock!
Harry suddenly thought of this problem. All his things related to the wizarding world were locked up by the Dursleys. If he couldn't open them, he would have to come back once before school started...
Harry felt a cramp in his stomach and a sour feeling rising in his throat.
Perhaps I could do one more necessities shopping in Diagon Alley?
Although it was a bit expensive, Harry would rather spend the money to avoid disaster as long as he could see the Dursleys less.
"Harry!" it was Ron's voice.
Harry looked up and saw a man with freckles, red hair and a long nose looking at him through the iron bars.
Crowded next to Ron were his twin brothers, Fred and George. They had identical red hair and the same broad grins Harry had seen them wear so many times around Hogwarts when their pranks were successful.
"Are you ready?" Ron's second question brought Harry back to reality. Not only did he have to face the iron bars in front of him, but he also had to face his personal belongings locked under the stairs.
"My luggage is locked up! And this iron fence..." Harry said painfully. He felt that he was completely overwhelmed by the surprise brought by Ron's letter and did not even think of making any preparations for it.
"Don't worry!" one of the twins said, "You might have forgotten who we are! So we better remind you..."
Another one immediately followed up, and he even tied a bundle of rope to the iron bars in front of the window while speaking: "Gryffindor's Prankster is here!"
So with the help of the First and Second Kings, Harry got his spell book, wand, robes and cauldron, as well as the top-level flying broom Nimbus 2000 and the snowy owl Hedwig.
The only problem was that before the flying car left, the pranksters decided to play a trick on the Dursleys, so they threw a very bright and sparkling firework out of the window into Harry's uncle and aunt's bedroom.
"See you next summer!" Harry shouted goodbye to them amid his uncle Vernon's angry roar, and the three Weasley brothers laughed together.
The turquoise Ford Anglia carried them toward the moon, and Harry felt that the wind blowing from the window was full of the smell of freedom.
