Chapter 3 Huang Liang’s Sweet Dream

Chapter 3 Huang Liang’s Sweet Dream
"Who?!"

Link yelled in annoyance.

"Sir, you're still alive, great, it's time to check out."

"Check out? Check out what room? This is my office."

Link opened his eyes and suddenly froze.

Where is this? Where is Nicole Kidman? Where is my office?

Link rubbed his eyes, sat up on the bed and looked around, and found that he was not in the bright and clean office of the president of DreamWorks Pictures facing Venice Beach, but a dark and damp small room filled with a strong smell of mold and foot odor.

There was only a bed and a cabinet with a broken door in the room. On the cabinet was a TV with a black shell, a black kettle, and a poster of Nicole Kidman on the opposite wall.

Although the windows of the room were closed, the cold wind still blew in through the gaps.

Link shivered and quickly pulled the quilt to cover his neck, trying to resist the biting cold wind coming from all directions.

It was just that the musty and sweaty smell coming from the quilt continued to stimulate his sense of smell.

Link's head was spinning.

He couldn't understand why just a few seconds ago, he was making love with the beauty Nicole Kidman on the solid wooden desk in the president's office.

The scorching sun of Los Angeles shone on his naked body, making him feel hot and sweaty.

How come just a few seconds later, I found myself in this cold and damp room again?

Bang bang bang! Bang bang bang!
The sound of banging on the door outside became more violent and harsh.

"Sir, it's 11:30 now. If you don't check out after 12:, we will charge you one more day's room rate. It's up to you!"

The person outside the door shouted.

"No, I'll check out right away."

When he heard that they would charge more for the room, Link responded hastily and subconsciously.

After answering, Link was puzzled. After the release of "Buried", it sold more than 100 million US dollars worldwide, and the balance in his account was over eight figures. Why should he worry about not being able to pay the rent?

With great doubt, Link slowly stood up from the bed. His head was dizzy again, his limbs were weak, and he staggered and almost fell on the dirty floor.

Link touched his forehead with the back of his hand, and found that the temperature of his forehead was obviously higher than that of the back of his hand.

Got a fever.

Sniffed.

The nose is a little blocked.

what happened?
Where is my sea view villa, Rolls-Royce sports car, DreamWorks Studios, and Nicole Kidman?

Link picked up the down jacket covering the quilt and put it on, then squatted down to put on his sneakers. After tying his shoelaces, he found that he was not wearing any pants, so he had to take off his shoes and put on his cotton pants and jeans first.

While doing these actions, he gradually came to his senses and discovered a shocking fact that he would never believe.

Everything that happened before was fake, just a pipe dream.

Although he participated in the 8th Sundance Film Festival.

But did not win any awards.

There wasn’t even any media coverage of his film.

There is no such thing as Hollywood tycoon Harvey Weinstein spending a huge sum of money to acquire the film rights to "Buried" from him.

There was no such thing as "Buried" selling for tens of millions of dollars after its release.

And the Nicole Kidman with fair skin and charming fragrance was not the heroine of the movie "Buried", nor was she lying on the table, allowing him to examine her body.

She was just the projection of the poster on the wall in the dream.

There are also Rolls-Royce sports cars, Beverly Hills villas, DreamWorks Films, a large number of Hollywood actresses waiting in line for auditions, Harvey Weinstein begging for cooperation, and he beat director Quentin Tarantino. He was praised by the media as the most powerful new director in Hollywood.
These are all dreams.

"No way! No way! Those scenes are so real and Nicole Kidman's touch is so good, how can it be a dream? This must be a prank."

Link shook his head, feeling even more dizzy.

He covered his burning forehead and staggered into the small bathroom.

As usual, there was no hot water from the tap.

In Park City, Utah, where the temperature is minus 4 or 5 degrees Celsius, the cold water flowing from the tap can chill people's hearts.

Link scooped up a handful of cold water and poured it on his face. The biting cold water forcefully drove away the warmth on his forehead.

My thinking is gradually becoming clearer.

His name is Link, and there is no mistake about the name.

He is a time traveler. Five months ago, an accident caused him to travel from China in 2024 to America in 1991, and he became a Chinese orphan living in the slums of Los Angeles.

In order to improve his life, he returned to his old job and started working as a director.

He took the script and looked for investors everywhere, but no film company was interested in his project.

The script submitted to many film companies fell into oblivion, and no film company responded.

He made up his mind and went to work as a waiter in a Chinatown restaurant. In his free time, he played minor roles in major Hollywood film crews and worked as a puppet in a McDonald's restaurant.

One person works four or five jobs.

It took three and a half months to earn 2 US dollars.

He used $2 to rent a camera, recording and lighting equipment, and some props.

Be prepared to invest in filming yourself.

When selecting actors for the movie, no one wanted to star in his movie after hearing that he was the only one in the crew and he couldn't afford the salary.

The cost of renting a camera is very expensive, more than two hundred dollars a day.

Link couldn't afford the money, so he made up his mind and wrote, directed and acted in the film himself.

It took 10 days and under extremely difficult conditions to finally complete the filming of "Buried".

When the Sundance Film Festival came, he brought his newly completed "Buried" to Park City, Utah, to participate in the Sundance Film Festival, the world's largest independent film festival.

The Sundance Film Festival was founded in 1984 by the famous director and actor Robert Redford. It is dedicated to independent filmmakers and films.

It is held in mid-to-late January every year and lasts for 10-11 days.

This year is the eighth edition of the film festival. During the festival, more than 3,400 films were exhibited, bringing together the best independent films from around the world.

Link came to the Sundance Film Festival with his film, full of confidence.

I hope "Buried" will be a big hit at the film festival.

It was favored by the judges at the Sundance Film Festival.

It has been sought after by many film distributors.

Make a lot of dollars.

Unfortunately, the reality is very skinny.

During the three days that "Buried Alive" was on display, only a few viewers entered the screening room to watch it, and many left halfway through.

The fewer people watch it, the less popular the movie becomes.

"Buried" failed to make any splash at the film festival, and not even a single film producer approached him to inquire about the price of the film rights.

Contrary to what happened in the dream, Quentin Tarantino's new movie Reservoir Dogs was a huge hit.

Harvey Weinstein, president of Miramax Films, personally approached Quentin and paid a high price to acquire the distribution rights for Reservoir Dogs.

Link was cold, hungry, and feeling extremely lost, so he got drunk.

Then he fell ill in this cheap hotel without heating and had a super luxurious dream.

"Alas, it's easier to dream. Things won't be that smooth in the real world."

Link looked at the person in the mirror. The only consolation was that the face looked pretty good, with neat short hair, sharp eyebrows, bright eyes, a straight nose, and well-defined facial features.

With his pale cheeks, he looks like a handsome Asian vampire.

Link showed his white teeth in the mirror and said, "Damn Hollywood, I'm going to eat you."

[Filming has been completed, and the box office subsidy system is counting...]

[The host's participation in this film is 95.3%, and the film's completion quality is 87.7%]

[Rewards: 4 times the box office subsidy; Director experience +30%; Director physical fitness +10%]

Am I still dreaming?

Link rubbed his eyes, and [Get 4 Times Box Office Subsidy] flashed three times in a row in his sight and gradually disappeared.

"Is there really a system?"

Is it to subsidize the box office four times based on the original box office performance of "Buried"?
If so, will the global box office of my movie "Buried" exceed 8000 million?
After the movie was released, I became a multi-millionaire in seconds?
After having money, a film company, a big villa, a sports car, Nicole Kidman and a solid wooden desk are no longer dreams.

Dang Dang Dang!
In Park City, the clock struck 12 noon.

Link suddenly remembered that he had no money to pay the rent, so he quickly packed a few simple things and rushed out of the room, shouting:
"Check out! I want to check out!!!"
