The Great Way to Truth, Starting from Jiazi Laodao
Chapter 8: Dragon stings in the clouds, swords descend from the sky
Chapter 8: Dragon stings in the clouds, swords descend from the sky
Floating Cloud Mountain, halfway up the mountain.
Put the peach wood sword back into the sheath.
The white-haired Taoist priest stood with his hands behind his back, stroking his beard and smiling.
This was the first time he showed his power in another world. Although the incident happened suddenly and he encountered a few little monsters on his way back after a tour, he finally got his fill of being a master who wields a sword to slay monsters.
No matter how good his mood is, when facing the first time, there will always be some ripples in his heart.
Otherwise, it would be too pretentious, fake and hypocritical.
The ultimate goal of practicing Taoism is nothing more than seeking the truth.
However, Xuanming was not excited for too long.
After sixty years of settling down, the state of mind is finally different.
After calming down, he concentrated on thinking.
After being surprised at how quickly he dealt with several small monsters, including a fourth-level snake monster with a broken arm, Xuanming felt it was natural.
"Hunyuan Yiqi Jue" is a top-level magic formula.
The "Eight Truths of External Scenery" has been cultivated to the fifth truth.
In the first three months, he was able to fight to a draw with his fourth-level master disciple, let alone himself after his breakthrough.
I am not the same person today as I was yesterday.
Although he had just broken through the realm and didn't know how strong he was, Ye Luo Zhiqiu knew that judging from the ease with which he killed the snake demon, although he was not invincible in the realm of refinement, he was also hard to rival.
When he has perfected his training, he may be invincible among his peers.
Thinking of this, Xuanming was delighted.
But he did not get carried away and soon calmed down.
There is a sky outside the sky, and there are people outside the world.
Refining the essence is only the first step in spiritual practice.
Let alone anything else, the evil dragon alone made Xuanming helpless, not to mention the most powerful spiritual cultivator in the world, or even the legendary immortal.
The mountain is dangerous and the world is deep.
As an old Taoist priest in the mountains, he still has a long way to go and a very high mountain to climb.
We have only just started our journey.
"The road is a long way to go, and I will go up and down to find out."
After expressing his feelings, Xuanming's mood improved slightly.
The monster is huge and difficult to move.
He lightly tapped his toes and leaped a hundred feet in one step, like an immortal flying in the air.
With flying white hair and fluttering Taoist robe, he looks full of Taoist spirit.
After returning to the temple, he called Chang'anzi over.
When he heard that there was a demon sneaking up the mountain, he was terrified.
Hearing that the demon was killed by Xuanming, he felt relieved.
As for the fact that his uncle had been practicing Taoism for just over a year and yet was able to slay demons from all four realms, Chang'an Zi accepted it well and even felt a sense of pride that he was the only one sober while everyone else was drunk.
Looking at the entire Qiuzhen Temple, I am the only one who knows the true strength of my uncle-master, and the rest are all fools.
When he heard that Xuanming would entrust him with such a good task as transporting the demon's body, he was ecstatic.
"Thank you, uncle."
"Master uncle still cares about me."
Hearing the sound of Chang'anzi suddenly picking up the hair, Xuanming's hand that was stroking his beard trembled and he pulled out a strand of it.
He puffed his beard and glared, tapping his cheap nephew's forehead with the Taiyi whisk in his hand.
"Don't be weird, go now."
Chang'anzi pretended to be in pain.
He ran out wailing.
The breeze blows, bringing with it his cry.
"Uncle Master, I will do the job, don't worry."
Xuanming shook his head and laughed, "Stinky boy!"
---
On the second floor of the Sutra Repository, one can read the sutras and attain enlightenment.
The fragrance of tea is refreshing and the scent of books is refreshing.
Xuanming immersed himself in it, unraveling the principles in the sutra, understanding them from shallow to deep, and then removing the dross and retaining the essence, choosing the good ones to use, and then they flowed into the ocean of Dharma in his heart like a trickle of water.
Three threes are endless, six sixes are infinite, and nine nines return to one.
The last time he attained enlightenment, he already understood the rules of the Huangting Jing Wai Jing Yu Jing.
Three, six, and nine are all infinite in Taoism, and each has its own emphasis:
Three is the starting point.
Six is the process. Nine is the end.
It is a new beginning and also a return to the origin.
After the last creation, Xuanming’s understanding increased dramatically and surpassed most people in the world.
In the past, it took him five years to comprehend the three hundred volumes of Taoist scriptures; now, he has read more than two hundred and sixty volumes of Taoist scriptures, and it will take him at most three months to finish reading the three hundred volumes and reach the total of six hundred volumes.
At that time, you will be able to attain enlightenment again.
He was looking forward to what he would get.
Of course, Xuanming did not put all his hopes on the golden finger, because a good blacksmith must first sharpen his own tools.
You can't wait for the Huangting Sutra to feed you. Otherwise, even if you can comprehend the truth, how different is it from a sutra-brushing machine? What's the point of having outstanding comprehension? Just to brush the sutra faster?
The most valuable thing about people is their wisdom.
What he should do is to give full play to his subjective initiative, turn the principles of Taoism into resources, apply them to reality, try to perfect the methods and techniques of seeking truth, and even try to create his own techniques, perfect his own methods, and explore his own Tao.
Xuanming had just finished reading a volume of Taoist scriptures and closed his eyes to digest it.
This is the scripture reading habit he developed.
Soon, the sound of hurried footsteps was heard.
Then, Chang Anzi's anxious voice came into his ears: "Uncle Master, this is not good!"
"The snake demon's body is gone."
"Do you think he faked his death to get away?"
Hearing this, Xuanming opened his eyes, and a look of surprise appeared on his kind face.
"The snake demon was pierced through the heart by my peach wood sword and its head was cut off. There is no way it can be alive."
"Can you check it carefully?"
Chang'anzi did not dare to neglect and replied quickly:
"Uncle Master, I led some people to search the nearby forests and mountains, and we dug three feet into the ground, but there was no trace of the snake monster. There were only some bloody scales left."
Frowning slightly, Xuanming said solemnly:
"It seems that there is something fishy going on here."
He ordered Chang'anzi to get the scales and remaining blood, and Xuanming lightly tapped his fingers to cast the Qiuzhenguan spell to track the trace.
The two objects flew up and merged with each other.
He flicked his fingers and a stream of light fell on the scales. He then waved the whisk lightly, and the scales suddenly vibrated and flew out.
Xuanming followed immediately.
---
Night falls, and the moon shines brightly in the sky.
The white-haired Taoist priest held a whisk in his hand and carried a peach wood sword on his back. He leaped into the air and covered a hundred feet in one breath. A hundred feet was just a stone's throw away.
The scales followed the remaining energy of the snake demon and wandered among the mountains and forests, and Xuanming followed it.
After one stick of incense, we arrived at the foot of Floating Cloud Mountain.
The scales suddenly dimmed and fell to the ground.
Xuanming stopped and stood on the treetop, looking out at the deep night outside the mountain. A solemn look appeared in his old eyes, and he said in a deep voice: "Things are going to be troublesome."
I thought I would gain something, but it turned out to be a wasted trip.
He was very sure that the snake demon was dead at that time, but now the whereabouts of the demon was unknown.
Does this monster really have some mysterious skill of escaping from its shell that allows it to hide from its own perception, or is there another reason?
"No matter what, we will fight back if the enemy comes and block the water with earth."
After a moment of contemplation, Xuanming let it go.
all will be good.
If the snake demon was seriously injured, it would definitely take a lot of time to recover. By the time it becomes a great Qi training demon and comes to seek revenge, I would probably have already gone further in the Qi training realm.
After all, he is a cheating man.
One step at a time, one step at a time.
If there is something else fishy, as long as he is strong enough, he will be able to deal with it with ease even if the crisis comes.
Ultimately, it all comes down to strength.
At least for now, the crisis is away from Fuyun Mountain.
After figuring it out, Xuanming turned around, took a hundred steps in one step, and returned to the Qiuzhen Temple.
A small green snake as thick as a chopstick secretly crawled out of the hole in the ground, looked at the Taoist figure going away, and spit out its tongue.
Then he turned around and looked out over the mountain.
There was strong hatred in his pupils.
Thinking about how he had failed in his attempt to transform into a dragon, his body and most of his soul had been sealed, and he had gone through untold hardships to escape a remnant of his soul, a hint of murderous intent flashed across his body.
When this possessed demon body cultivates to the Qi training stage, he will destroy this Taoist temple to vent his anger and get some benefits from those powerful old Taoist priests.
Just when the green snake was about to hide in Floating Cloud Mountain, a sword light fell from the sky.
