The Great Way to Truth, Starting from Jiazi Laodao

Chapter 64: Dao creates life to reward goodness, Jiaolong relics

Chapter 64: Dao creates life to reward goodness, Jiaolong relics

The setting sun and sunset glow a fiery red.

Xuanming took Chang'anzi out of the Wendaoyuan.

The old and the young remained silent.

It was not until they got closer to a courtyard that Chang'anzi's expression changed, with a mixture of excitement and sadness.

Standing in front of the door, Xuanming did not push it open immediately. The memories flooded in and temporarily overwhelmed him. It was not until a few breaths later that he pushed open the door.

With a creak, the wooden door opened to both sides.

The small courtyard is ordinary yet elegant, with three thatched huts, a stone table, four stone benches, and clumps of lush bamboos standing tall. Because no one has lived there for a long time, the courtyard looks particularly quiet and peaceful.

As they walked in, Xuanming and Chang'anzi walked very slowly, as if they were walking in old times.

There are always people cleaning here. It used to be Chang'anzi. After he came down the mountain, he became a Taoist boy. Xuanming would sometimes come and clean.

This is because this place is the former residence of Senior Brother Xuan Ye.

Xuanming asked Chang'anzi to sit down. Looking at the slightly emerging autumn bamboo shoots, he said slowly:

"Back then, I was stupid and ignorant, but Senior Brother Xuan Ye loved me the most, so I often came here to play. I lived the most freely in this small place. I liked to dig bamboo shoots here the most. Senior Brother would always play with me and fry bamboo shoots for me.

It has been so many years, and it seems like it happened yesterday. It is still fresh, but unfortunately, the people who knew me are no longer around."

Chang Anzi was in a complicated mood and said, "My master also told me a lot back then, asking me to take care of my uncle in my spare time."

Xuanming's eyes were deep, but he didn't immerse himself too much in the old times. He reminisced about his old friends and then went straight to the point.

"You are Xuan Ye's fellow apprentice. Now that the Dao Yuan Festival is over, there are some things that I should not hide from you anymore."

Looking at the confused Chang'anzi, Xuanming dropped a bombshell: "More than half a month ago, the Chu family sent a piece of news. The sudden death of Senior Brother Xuan Ye was not an accident, but was related to Wang Sheng, the eldest son of the Wang family."

After hearing these words, Chang'anzi was stunned.

He was stuck in the past for years.

I have been brooding over my master's death for many years.

I thought I would have a chance to find out the truth only after entering Tiandiyuan, but unexpectedly things took a turn for the worse and now the truth is right before my eyes.

After being shocked, Chang'anzi instantly became furious.

Although he wanted to tear the murderer into pieces, he did not let his anger get the better of him. He understood the gap between himself and Wang Sheng. Acting impulsively would only result in him losing his life in vain.

Moreover, from what he heard today, it seems that his sect is cooperating with the Chu family and has already discussed a plan to deal with Wang Sheng. If he acts rashly, it will only alert the enemy and bring disaster to his sect.

Finally, they figured out who the culprit was and their long-cherished wish was finally coming true. Chang'anzi fell to his knees, crying and laughing.

Seeing this, Xuanming sighed.

Despite the ups and downs he has experienced, Chang'anzi has a steady temperament, but he is still young after all.

What's more, he and Senior Brother Xuan Ye have a deep relationship, like father and son, and it is normal for him to express his true feelings in this way.

When Chang'an Zi's emotions calmed down a little, Xuanming comforted him, "The Tao established life to reward good and death to deter evil. Wang Sheng did evil and will not have a good end. Now the retribution has come. The Chu family will not let him go, and neither will I, the Seeking Truth Temple.

I told you the truth because I wanted you to see Wang Sheng fall into the mire with your own eyes, not because I wanted you to try to stop him. I hope you understand this."

Chang'anzi understands these principles.

He bowed respectfully and said, "Uncle Master, rest assured. I will not act on impulse. If there is a need in the future, I hope you will let me participate and personally avenge my master."

Stroking his beard, Xuanming said with relief: "Don't worry, there will be such a day."

Half an incense stick later, he walked out of the courtyard alone, leaving Chang'anzi to silently digest the information and emotions.

Walking in the mountains and gazing at the bright moon in the sky, Xuanming did not regret telling Chang'anzi the truth.

A young eagle can soar into the sky only after experiencing wind and rain, and a seedling can stand upright only after enduring wind and frost.

They can't always protect the younger generation from wind and rain. Now that they have grown up, they should learn to take on responsibilities so that they can grow up quickly and stand on their own. Moreover, the death of Senior Brother Xuan Ye has become an obsession for Chang Anzi. If he waits until the dust settles before informing him, it may seem well-intentioned, but it will actually backfire. Chang Anzi will feel guilty while happy, and it will be difficult for him to completely reconcile with the past, leaving him with a mental block.

Only by informing him in advance, or even letting him participate in it, can this kid truly let it go. On the day of Wang Sheng's death, he can have a clear mind and be at ease with everything.

Moreover, Xuanming believed that this boy could get through this.

The moon sets into the mountains, the woods are quiet, insects chirp, and the bright moonlight shines on my body. I collect my thoughts, and the white-haired old Taoist priest, covered in silver light, walks forward slowly towards his residence. It is natural, harmonious, and beautiful like a painting.

---

The morning light is dim.

After an autumn rain.

The tail end of the summer heat was swept away, the heat gradually dissipated, and the weather became a little cooler and more moist.

Floating Cloud Mountain, a place to seek truth.

Taoist priests of all sizes devoted themselves to their practice.

Or meditate to contemplate the mysteries, or recite scriptures to attain enlightenment.

Either collect herbs and make elixirs, or draw talismans and make weapons.

In front of the sword cliff, the fourth generation disciples were more active.

The success of Chang'anzi and Changqingzi inspired them greatly. These young disciples got rid of some of their impetuousness, paid more attention to their practice, and became more calm and composed.

The three generations of Taoists including Xuanyin were no exception.

In the past, they did not feel deeply, even if Senior Brother Xuanming achieved the status of an Immortal, they took it for granted. It was not until Xuanxu achieved the status of an Immortal that the Taoists began to take it seriously and realized that achieving the status of an Immortal was not a luxury.

They also don't want to fall behind too much, and at least want to see the threshold of Qi training, so that they can grab the opportunity when it comes, take advantage of the wind, and soar straight up, instead of sighing and missing the opportunity, leaving regrets.

Although they have no hope of cultivating the spirit in this life, they still have some ambitions to cultivate the qi. They would be happy if they could hear the truth in the morning and die in the evening.

Reading scriptures to gain enlightenment, practicing sword skills, learning from others' experiences, studying formations... Although Xuanming's practice has its own emphasis, there is an overall rule.

In his spare time, besides sorting out the rich treasures obtained from the dragon snake, he would indulge in the mountains and rivers or exchange experiences in refining equipment with Junior Brother Xuanyang.

A stone from another mountain can be used to polish a jade. Junior Brother Xuanyang has a high level of attainment in weapon refining. Communicating with him will help him comprehend the way of weapon refining and make more preparations for refining the inherited spiritual weapon.

The whole sect is thriving.

Spiritual cranes fly in the sky, spirit deer run, people and earth are in harmony, and a quiet and natural atmosphere gradually arises. Even the clouds and mists floating in the mountains seem to be influenced by it, tainted with a hint of Taoism, and become more hazy and peaceful.

Hundreds of Taoists practice Taoism together. Although their days are busy, they are spiritually fulfilled and at peace in their hearts.

The sun rises and the moon sets, day and night alternate.

Three days later, at Zangdao Peak, I went to Daoyuan.

Under the vigorous old pine tree, Xuanming held a scale in his palm, and his spiritual sense sank into it. In front of him were well-arranged treasures from heaven and earth.

Just as the tit spirit Hongdou said, the Jiao snake contained some of the Jiao dragon's treasures. The Jiao dragon had been practicing for more than 900 years and had never been to a place without treasures. It also occupied an area of hundreds of miles in the Canglong Mountain. It had many subordinates in the past. Even if it was only part of the treasures, the number would be considerable.

The scales of Jiao snakes are similar to Ruyi capsules, with a large space inside, about three meters long and wide, and about ten meters high. They are filled with many kinds of things, which can be roughly divided into four categories:
One category is magical medicines and fruits, all packed in jade boxes. There are hundreds of them, each of which is very valuable, and many of them are treasures that can only be taken by real people.

One type is spiritual materials such as spiritual iron and spiritual stone. They are full of spiritual power and cannot be compared with ordinary spiritual materials. They are enough to refine spiritual weapons. At this moment, Xuanming was somewhat grateful that the demon clan was not good at refining weapons, which gave him an advantage.

One category is various jade slips. Although the number is small, they are very valuable. A small part of them belong to the human race, and they are probably left by Qigong practitioners who died at the hands of the dragon or the big monster in the Ten Thousand Snake Cave. Most of them belong to the monster race, and they contain the experience of cultivation, the methods of cultivation, as well as the records of mountains, rivers, and geography, ancient legends, etc.

One type is various crystal stones, which are red all over. Xuanming felt pure spiritual energy from these stones, but it was mixed with turbid air and a hint of special aura. They were obviously treasures suitable for the demon clan to practice.

Although Xuanming would not kill innocent people for the sake of natural treasures, he was happy to hear about this kind of unexpected wealth and felt at ease to receive it. If you don't take what heaven gives you, you will suffer the consequences. Now that it has come into his hands, it is fate.

With these, whether it is yourself or those who seek truth and watch the Tao, the path will be much smoother.

However, what Xuanming valued most were three items. When his spiritual perception fell on the three items, he was overjoyed.
