The Wizard: From Zero-Ring Wizard to Almighty Lord.
Chapter 358 Hearthstone Old Friends, Unexpected
Outside the Hall of Life, the figures of Lynn and Tina quietly appeared, suspended in mid-air.
Beside him stood a familiar figure, none other than Lynn's old acquaintance, the wizard Ald.
Old looked at Lynn, gave a helpless bitter smile, and said:
"After the Black Wizard Exchange Conference, I returned to Mountain City with the Sea Emperor of Surging Waves... He went straight back to the Deep Sea Civilization, saying he was going into seclusion to try and break through to the fifth level. I also plan to reflect on what I've gained from this exchange conference and see if I can make a breakthrough."
“I didn’t expect such a big commotion to suddenly occur in the Nightmare Rift Valley. All council wizards and law enforcement wizards were required to come out of seclusion and stand by. It was during that time that you emitted the aura of ancient god energy… So I took on this task to be responsible for contacting you.”
Ald spoke eloquently, briefly explaining his experience after the Black Wizards' meeting.
Then, he changed the subject, took a deep breath, and glanced at Tina, who was in soul form beside Lynn.
The other party faintly exudes the aura of a Morning Star wizard, as well as the gift of the Morning Star bestowed by the origin of the world, clearly indicating that he is also a Morning Star councilor.
It's worth mentioning that Wizard Ald was well aware that since Lynn hadn't introduced Tina's identity, he wouldn't proactively ask about it. He was simply confirming whether she was qualified to hear the important content of the Wizard Council, nothing more.
After confirming the facts, he did not hide anything and said frankly:
"The level seven power in the Nightmare Rift has been confirmed to originate from the Ancient God Civilization... However, it is still uncertain whether it was a level seven being from the Ancient God Civilization who personally arrived, or whether a Morning Star Wizard used the Ancient God's energy to advance further."
"But based on our understanding of the ancient god civilization, only the ancient gods could break free from the constraints of the civilized world and roam freely across the endless heavens. Therefore, the latter is more likely..."
"That's why the Wizarding Council has been highly vigilant about the energy of the ancient gods lately. And the ancient god aura that recently erupted on your side has once again drawn the Council's attention. Furthermore, because this place isn't too far from the Nightmare Rift, many council members speculate... that your ongoing dimensional expedition, and the native deity infected by the ancient god's energy, might have some connection to the level seven power in the rift..."
At this point, Wizard Ald took a deep breath and continued:
"Because of the events that have occurred in the Nightmare Rift, the Wizarding Council is paying close attention and has decided to send a Morning Star Wizard to directly enter that plane of existence through the Star Gate of the Green Forest Wizard, and capture the infected Level 4 native..."
Upon hearing this, Lynn's expression finally changed, and his brows furrowed slightly.
For the Morning Star Wizards, after a planar expedition ends, all the spoils of the entire plane belong to them, and the Wizard Council never takes a cut.
But now, Lynn and Tina, working together, are 90% confident of completely defeating that level-four native.
This should have been his "prey," his spoils.
The Wizarding Council's sudden intervention, sending people to arrest them, suggests a possible attempt to seize the property.
He was naturally a little unhappy.
Old noticed Lynn's subtle change at a glance and quickly added:
"Wizard Qinglin need not worry. After this operation, no matter how much the native infected with the ancient god's energy contributes to the Nightmare Rift incident, the Wizard Council will provide you with certain compensation..."
"For example, you can make your own decisions about the mandatory Morning Star Wizard missions that come every so often, or the various resources available in the council."
Upon hearing this, Lynn's brows gradually relaxed, and he nodded gently.
"If that's the case, then I have no objection."
Although the Wizarding Council is the superior authority of the Morning Star wizards, it is different from forces like the Forgestone.
Inside the Forgestone, superiors have extremely high authority and can issue mandatory commands to subordinates.
The Wizard Council, however, is relatively loosely organized.
If Lynn doesn't receive the compensation he deserves after this order is issued, he can use his authority as a councilor of Morning Star to cause trouble in Mountain City.
Moreover, if he really makes a scene, he will receive secret assistance from many Morning Star members.
After all, everyone here is a Morning Star Wizard and will participate in planar expeditions. The Wizarding Council has already done what it set out to do.
Whether for self-preservation or for other reasons, those Morningstar members will make wise choices.
"By the way, does Wizard Alder know anything about the Morning Star Wizard who came this time?"
Since the council was willing to provide compensation, Lynn was naturally happy to see it happen. This would actually greatly accelerate the pace of the interdimensional expedition.
Since the Wizard Council has sent people here, they must be here to capture that level four native directly, and at least they will send out level five wizards.
Therefore, Lynn was also somewhat worried. The Lord of Life and the Church of Nature that he supported in the Spirit Eye Plane were clearly following the path of the civilization of gods.
But the wizarding civilization doesn't care about these things, as long as they don't cause trouble in their native wizarding world.
Lynn was worried that the Azure Sky Spirit he placed within the Body of Life might be detected by the Morning Star Wizard who had descended from the sky.
Should we put away the Lord of Life in advance?
Upon hearing this, Wizard Alder pondered for a moment, then calmly replied:
"I didn't get a definite name for him. But the council wizard I was in contact with said that the one coming was a Morning Star wizard from Forgestone... and that he had some past with the Greenwood wizard."
Upon hearing this, Lynn frowned almost imperceptibly.
The Wizarding Council does not mandate missions; rather, Morningstar wizards select missions themselves from the mission hall.
If it meets your needs, you can accept it.
This Morning Star Wizard clearly saw the relevant information in the mission hall before taking on the task.
The Temple of Life is located in the territory of Forgestone, so it makes sense that the visitors were Morningstar Wizards from Forgestone.
But if there really is a "past," then it's hard to say.
Lynn didn't have many connections with the Morning Star wizards of the Forgestone, and aside from fourth-level Morning Star wizards like Grimm, he knew even fewer others.
"Hercules? He's at the peak of the Morning Star realm; it's unlikely he could come..."
"Sirius? I don't have any real connection with him. Even if I did, it would just be a superficial deal between him and his disciple. It shouldn't be..."
"Aquila? If it's him, that's really troublesome... He and I have old grudges, especially the Lord of Life who carries the Spirit of the Azure Sky. I need to find a way to put him away first..."
Lynn quickly considered various options, a multitude of thoughts flashing through his mind.
Just then, Wizard Ald suddenly looked up, his gaze fixed on the distant void, and whispered a reminder:
"Here comes the Morning Star Wizard from Forgestone..."
Upon hearing this, Lynn and Tina also suddenly looked up.
At this moment, the distant sky is a clear, cloudless expanse of azure, with the sun shining brightly overhead—a truly comfortable and beautiful day.
But after being reminded by Wizard Ald, the two of them used some means to see a more distant scene. There, under the same azure, cloudless sky, a rather enormous figure was rolling towards them.
It was an incredibly long, jet-black serpent with a massive, ferocious head. Although its scales were black, they were now shimmering with starlight, making it quite extraordinary.
If you get close and observe carefully, you will be shocked, because every scale of that enormous, jet-black serpent is filled with the power of stars.
These stellar powers are not formed from the light of the stars, but are refined by absorbing the cores of countless stars in the myriad worlds!
In other words, the starlight contained within the dense scales on this jet-black serpent represents the destruction of countless stars.
Although the power of a single star's core can transform numerous scales into a dazzling starlight, the total number might not be as exaggerated as the "Hercules-Corona Borealis Great Wall" in the Hercules constellation.
Even so, it is still a very large number.
At least, it's far more than the number of planes conquered by a newly minted Morning Star wizard like Lynn, who only possesses one and a half planes.
When Lynn and Tina saw the long, black serpent rushing towards them from afar, and combined this with the fact that it came from the Forgestone, they were certain that this Morning Star Wizard was the real person.
Ophiuchus!
Lynn and Tina both murmured to themselves in unison.
There are many Morning Star Wizards in the Forgestone, after all, it is one of the four great forges of the Black Wizarding Realm.
In the southern region of the Wizarding World, there are currently nine major Moonlit factions, and the Forgestone is one of them. It occupies a vast area, and naturally, the number of Morning Star wizards within it is also quite large.
Inside the Forgestone, among the many Morning Star Wizards, there is also a ranking system, namely the Constellation Wizards.
Those who can obtain a constellation as their identifier are considered to be ranked Morning Star Wizards!
For example, Hercules, a sixth-level Morning Star; Aquila, Lynn's old enemy; and Sirius, who is greedy for profit...
The one who arrived riding a long serpent was none other than a powerful Morning Star wizard, Ophiuchus!
Ophiuchus!
"So it was him!"
Lynn belatedly realized that he had overlooked Ophiuchus.
It wasn't that he had a bad memory, but rather that he himself had absolutely no real connection with Ophiuchus.
So when the wizard Alder mentioned "a Morning Star wizard from the Forgestone with whom he had a past," he couldn't even think of the name Ophiuchus...
Upon closer examination, Ophiuchus does indeed fit the words of the wizard Ald.
Ophiuchus and the Spirit Eye Wizard have a close relationship. Back when the Spirit Eye Wizard had not yet broken through to the Morning Star Wizard level, Ophiuchus already had high hopes for him.
After the Spirit Eye Wizard broke through to the Morning Star Wizard level, Ophiuchus repeatedly taught him and even gave him some forbidden knowledge.
The relationship between the two can even be described as one of both teacher and friend.
Lynn's current public identity is clearly that of a student of the Spirit Eye Wizard.
This can be evidenced by his control over the Kingdom of Eluria, his marriage to Astrid, the daughter of the Spirit-Eyed Wizard, and the construction of the Temple of Life in this place.
Therefore, in the eyes of the wizards outside, Lynn could indeed inherit the connection of the Spirit-Eyed Wizard and have some conversations with Ophiuchus...
Rumble!
Just as Lynn was lost in thought, a series of auras suddenly descended from afar.
The long, dark, shimmering serpent suddenly vanished, replaced by a figure dressed in a thick wizard's robe.
It was a middle-aged man with eyes like snake pupils and a somewhat sinister expression. A long, black snake was crawling and covering his robe.
At first glance, it appears to be a pattern, but in reality, it is a living creature that is constantly moving across the robe.
The constellation Ophiuchus had just appeared when it suddenly materialized in front of Lynn, Tina, and Ald.
His snake-like eyes first glanced at Ald, the law enforcement wizard, knowing that he was there to corroborate his completion of the Morning Star mission, so he paid no attention to him after that.
The next moment, his gaze fell on Tina, the Morning Star Wizard who was only a soul, and he glanced at her but didn't care.
Finally, his snake-like eyes locked onto Lynn, and a tremendous amount of spiritual power and pressure surged toward Lynn.
"Um?!"
Upon seeing this, Lynn's heart stirred. He felt the immense spiritual power and oppressive aura emanating from this man. If he had just broken through to the Morning Star Wizard stage, he would probably have already been suppressed.
But now, he is not far from the mid-stage of a level four Morning Star Wizard, and has experienced many battles between Morning Star Wizards.
Even when facing the mental power and pressure of a level 5 Morning Star Wizard, it wouldn't be completely unable to resist.
Moreover, it seems that this Ophiuchus did not intend to go all out; it was merely testing the waters.
Therefore, within Lynn's mental realm, wave after wave of mental power surged, covering his limbs and bones. At the same time, the World Tree within his body was also releasing rays of green light, which was the power to create rules.
Under the combined pressure of the two forces, he remained as steadfast as a rock in a raging torrent, even amidst the mental pressure from Ophiuchus!
"Not bad, not bad, you're the disciple of the Spirit Eye Wizard? Your strength is probably no less than that of a mid-level fourth-tier wizard... It hasn't been long, and you're almost surpassing your teacher. It seems the Spirit Eye Wizard has taken on a good disciple..."
Ophiuchus had a hoarse voice, and although his face was cold and his pupils were frightening, he treated Lynn quite well.
It's obvious that Lynn benefited from the influence of the Spirit-Eyed Wizard.
Then, Ophiuchus specifically transmitted his voice to Lynn, saying in Lynn's ear:
"Your teacher has died in the Nightmare Rift Valley... but at least he had you as his disciple, so he had something to rely on..."
The death of the Spirit-Eyed Wizard was no secret, so Lynn wasn't surprised that Ophiuchus knew about it.
What the other party said was not untrue. Although Lynn forcibly controlled the Spirit Eye Wizard, he did not do anything to the Spirit Eye Wizard's wife. Although he took in the other party's daughter, in the eyes of outsiders, this was actually a good thing, indicating that the Spirit Eye Wizard's lineage was orderly...
So Lynn simply replied, "Thank you for your concern, Ophiuchus."
"Ah."
Ophiuchus nodded lightly, then stopped transmitting his voice and spoke:
"Next, come with me to see that Level 4 native infected by the ancient god's energy... Bringing him back as soon as possible might be crucial to the Nightmare Rift..." (End of Chapter)
