Chapter 256 A New Plan to Kill the False Emperor
Chapter 256 A New Plan to Kill the False Emperor
"I've finally met Irebas."
Li Nuo, possessing the "Poison Nail" Axon, stood on the bridge ceiling of the "Law of Faith," looking down at the every move of Eribas.
Legend has it that Loka's flagship was a mobile Gothic cathedral.
During the period of dual religions and the 40k era, the design and construction of ships were mostly based on the "Law of Faith".
Now it seems that it is indeed the case.
The pillars are carved with exquisite and delicate scriptures, and the team members coming and going wear robes with a sense of faith, decorated with scrolls of devout scriptures.
In an inconspicuous corner, a subwoofer chants scriptures at a volume almost inaudible.
While other flagships rely on the roar of their engines for background noise, the "Faith Law" is different; its background sound is a faint, ethereal chanting.
A sacred aura lingers here, bringing peace to the heart.
It's really strange, how could such a piece of crap like Irebas be born in such a pure place?
Does faith ultimately lead to malice and treachery?
Or is it that faith is easily exploited by cunning people?
Li Nuo didn't want to think about such profound questions for the time being.
He looked down and saw the scene of Irebas spying on Mona and the other two.
Mona and her two companions are witnesses who accuse the cultists. They carried navigation computer components from the cultists' ships, as well as recordings of farting conversations.
Under normal circumstances, this level of witness testimony and physical evidence, coupled with the confessions of tantric practitioners under the influence of truth serum, would be sufficient to convict them.
But this is clearly not the normal situation now.
Irebas knew that the two people he rescued were cultists, yet he still protected them. Who would believe there was nothing wrong with that?
Li Nuo wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he had a feeling that Aribas was targeting the cultists.
"I hope I'm just overthinking it, otherwise this is too weird."
Below, Irebas pondered for half a minute, picked up the communicator, and issued an order:
“Find two prisoners from the lower deck cells who are similar in height, build, and appearance to the two wounded.”
"Yes, my lord."
After a short wait, a voice came from the other end of the communicator.
"Sir, the two wounded soldiers have woken up. They want to see you, saying they have important matters to discuss with you. Also, we have found two prisoners who meet the requirements, but we need some time to prepare their disguises."
"Yes, gouge out the prisoners' eyes, cut out their tongues, and fake that they were injured in an explosion. I don't need to teach you these things, do I?"
"Yes, my lord."
As he coldly issued the orders, Irebas headed toward the top-level medical room.
The place was located near the main keel on the upper deck. The ship's structure was sturdy, and its security and secrecy were extremely high. Only the most loyal mortals and those who cherished words could enter it.
Iribus wore precision-engineered power armor, in the standard Word Bearer style, with the company number clearly visible on the curved surface of the shoulder armor.
The two rescued cultists were standing upright in the amniotic fluid of the medical pod.
They heard heavy footsteps approaching and wearily opened their eyes.
The man's gloomy features and expression came into view, and the insignia on his shoulder that read "Company Commander of the First Company of the Huaiyanzhe" was extremely eye-catching.
"Gulu gulu~~"
"Gulu gulu~~"
The esoteric practitioner exhaled large bubbles in the amniotic fluid, his body trembling with excitement, his eyes wide open.
Irebas waved his hand, "You all get out."
"Yes, my lord."
The surrounding medical personnel quickly left the intensive care unit.
The airtight door closed, and the room became much quieter, with a low, buzzing hum emanating from the base of the medical pod.
Iribus stepped forward, scrutinized the two people inside the medical pod, and then pressed a button to activate the sonic array device on their breathing masks, allowing them to speak freely.
"Speak, who are you? Why do you want to see me?"
“Lord Eribas, we…we are messengers of the Secret Cult.”
The injured man, speaking in a male voice, said:
"My code name is Black Cup, and the one next to me is my partner; her code name is Red Wine."
“Cultists…” Eribus took a deep breath, his eyes turning sinister:
“I have nothing to talk about with you alien cultists.”
Even so, Eribus had no choice but to follow the instructions of the Supreme God and continue talking to the two of them.
The black cup, nestled in the jar, bowed slightly with difficulty and humbly said:
"Lord Eribas, you are the chief priest of the Word Bearers, a wise and sagacious elder. Your reputation is widespread, even our elders have heard of you. We seek your cooperation with reverence and goodwill. As a token of our sincerity, we will present you with a gift."
Iribus nodded indifferently:
“Go on, but get to the point and don’t ramble. I have a trial meeting involving you to attend, and I don’t have time to chat with you here.”
Black Cup twitched in fear and quickly said:
"We have brought you a gift, a gift hidden in the code of our souls."
“Soul coding?” Eribus paused, “Isn’t that the magic of the Eldar? Does the Secret Cult also possess the same magic?”
“Yes, sir. However, those who possess the soul encoding technology are limited to our elders.” Black Cup pointed to the buttons on the control panel:
“Our gift needs to be extracted from the soul using psychic energy. Please allow us to use our psychic energy.”
Iribus checked his weapons and shields using the sensors inside his power armor.
After confirming that everything was correct, he pressed the button.
The anti-psychic collars on Black Cup and Red Wine were removed.
The two turned around to face each other and activated the spiritual energy within their bodies.
The psionic reading has risen to the delta level.
The two men's eyes lit up with white light, projecting four beams of light.
The beams of light converged above the open space between the two people, forming a virtual image.
In the scene, a gray figure appears and communicates face-to-face with Irebas.
"Eribas, Chief Priest of the Word Bearers. The scene of the High Gods blessing you is no secret. Many in this galaxy know your secrets..."
Eribas looked astonished, not expecting that his secrets would be exposed by the cult right away.
The gray figure in the picture continued:
"I know you will be shocked by this, but rest assured, from now on, you are no longer just a pawn on the chessboard of the gods. You will become a qualified player, playing against your enemies—the emperors of the human empires—and your masters—the gods of the High Heavens—on the same chessboard."
“You are blaspheming my faith, and you will pay the price for your words.”
After recovering from his initial shock, Irebas strode forward and stared intently at the figure in the image.
The figure in the picture showed no reaction to Irebas's threat.
"Your faith is like an ant to me, and your masters are nothing but ghosts hiding in the warp."
"Listen carefully. Your masters originally planned to ignite the galaxy in the 31st millennium. They made ample preparations for it. "In their original plan, at some point in the future, Horus Lupecal would become the Warmaster of the Imperium of Man. He would be wounded by Nurgle's blade on Daven and receive healing from the natives on Devon. The so-called healing ritual was merely a trap. On that day, at that moment, Horus would be possessed by the Four Gods, losing his own will, becoming the first Primarch of Man to sacrifice himself. The plan to incinerate the galaxy and annihilate the False Emperor would then begin."
Irebas had a stern face:
What do you mean by all this?
The figure said:
"The man who stabbed Horus was named Eugene Tamba. The Nurgle Blade he used came from you. It was you who gave him this murder weapon, corrupted his soul, and caused him to stab Horus. It was also you who recommended that Horus go to Dewyn for treatment. And it was you who, during Horus's treatment, infiltrated Horus's dreams and corrupted Horus on behalf of the four gods."
Irebas frowned, his eyes darting around rapidly.
"This is all a lie you made up..."
"If everything I've said is a lie, why did your god send you to meet my two agents?"
The gray figure hit the nail on the head.
Iribus took a half step back in shock, only then remembering that he had come here because of the gods' command.
The gray figure said again:
"You must be wondering about the divine arrangement right now. Why did they send you to meet my agents? I'll tell you the answer now."
The gray figure paused:
"Believe it or not, the future of the galaxy has been completely altered by an obscure force. Your gods' meticulously crafted plans have fallen apart because of this force. They must make changes and devise new plans, but they fear that the mysterious force will once again disrupt their schemes. They need a helper. And I am their first choice."
"You think you can take me on?" Iribus scoffed.
"Don't you cults yearn to exterminate humanity, warp beings, and all other aliens, and to monopolize the galaxy? On what basis should our sovereign cooperate with you?"
The gray figure didn't speak, but raised its hand and shot out a beam of light.
Its movements were so fast that even the genetically modified Irebus couldn't react in time.
The beam of light fell on Irebas's forehead, leaving his mind feeling icy cold.
Iribus felt something leave his head, and then something else enters it.
The beam of light disappeared.
"What did you do to me?" Iribus asked, both shocked and furious, drawing his chainsaw sword from his waist.
"The gods have placed a new plan in your soul's code. I just read your soul and reviewed this plan. I approve of their plan. I have placed a copy of my reply to the gods in your soul. The next time you pray to the gods, they will naturally receive my message."
The gray figure disappeared.
The light in the eyes of the cult agent faded.
The two men snapped out of their daze and saw Irebas holding a chainsaw sword, his expression ferocious and furious, and their hearts sank.
"Lord Eribas, what just happened?"
"Lord Eribas, please put your weapon away. Whatever you just saw was an expression of goodwill from the elders, not a threat."
The black glass and red wine hurriedly tried to calm Irebas down.
Neither of them knew anything about what had just happened.
In a sense, they were merely tools for the elders of the esoteric sect to relay messages.
Since it's a tool, it's perfectly reasonable to throw it away after use.
Irebas put away his chainsaw sword with a stern face.
He glanced at the agent, said nothing, and turned to leave.
after awhile.
Two prisoners who were originally intended to take the blame for the cultists were thrown into an incinerator and burned to ashes.
The black glass and red wine were pulled out of the medical pod, their vocal cords severed, their eyeballs pierced, and all traces of treatment erased. They were then escorted into the trial scene in a barely alive state.
With witnesses, physical evidence, and confessions all present, the verdict was announced in court, the identity was verified in court, and the execution was carried out on the spot.
The cultists were sent to the pyre on the middle deck and burned alive in full view of everyone.
After the trial concluded, Mona and the other two returned safely to the Sun Army.
Li Nuo watched all this silently from the shadows, secretly relieved, but then became wary again.
The gray figure who spoke with Eribas earlier was probably the elder of the secret cult, the lizardman.
It says that the gods placed a new plan within the soul of Erebas.
This new plan to burn down the galaxy and kill the false emperor has been approved by the lizardmen.
Both sides will definitely cooperate according to the new plan.
Li Nuo intends to get his hands on this plan.
But here's the problem: how do we extract the plan from Irebas's soul without alerting him?
Li Nuo was stumped by this question.
But then I thought about it.
its not right.
After I fucking killed Iribus and Loka, do I still need to check the plan?
Without Loka, the leader of the heretics, and without Eribus, the troublemaker, it would be a miracle if the Four Vendors could still make waves in the galaxy.
So stop worrying about how to avoid alerting Irebas, just go for it!
Full of fighting spirit, Li Nuo began to execute his ambush plan.
Eribus and Loga were aboard the "Law of Faith," surrounded by the 47th Expeditionary Fleet and the Solar Force.
Even if Brother Li had connections and influence throughout the online world, he wouldn't dare open the gates of the online world in front of so many people.
He needs to lure Irebas and Loga out alone first, and then take them down when no one else is looking.
Li Nuo originally planned to create a disturbance in Expedition 47.
But before he could even make a move, an unexpected yet logical situation arose.
A battleship even larger than the "Law of Faith" teleported in, followed by an endless army of green-skinned soldiers.
The moment the fleet appeared, the human empire's ships sounded their piercing alarms.
"Warning! Warning!"
"The 'Wolf Blade' of the Orc Emperor Ulgr has been discovered!"
"27 green-skinned battleships, 212 green-skinned cruisers, and at least 300 green-skinned frigates have been discovered!"
"All personnel, enter maximum combat readiness!"
"Repeated...Warning..."
"Sizzle s ...————"
Strong electromagnetic interference disrupts communication.
A rough, green voice squeezed into the Human Empire's channel.
"Ha! I've finally caught you, Loka Aurelion! I'm the coolest and most powerful greenskin in Ulanor! I challenge you! If you've got the guts, come and fight me one-on-one! Whoever chickens out is a spineless coward!"
