Chapter 446 Kaji's Gym
The fisherman's battle with the king of fish unfolded in a torrential downpour.

Although he was almost pulled into the water by the huge force of the hog at first, Xiuze reacted and used all his strength, his face red, to desperately reel in the rod.

Human strength is certainly no match for the roaring beast in the water.

However, the structure of the fishing rod in this world is not quite the same as that on Earth. A moment later, Roaring Beast touched the Poké Ball attached to the fishing line and was captured in the blink of an eye.

Xiuze immediately picked up the fishing rod and swung the Poké Ball behind him.

Meanwhile, Roaring Beast broke free of its Poké Ball and came to the outside world, only to be flung onto the shore.

It was an enormous fish, more than ten meters long. Its body shape was similar to that of a howling whale, but its appearance was more like that of a catfish.

It seems that anglers don't necessarily have to wrestle with fish that weigh nearly a ton underwater. After using the Poké Ball's mechanics to bring the fish ashore, it's just a normal battle.

"Go! Octopus Bucket!"

The angler sent out his best helper.

However, in the next instant, Chihouba used his "Earth Shatter" move to shatter the land on the shore and jumped back into the water.

While it's not necessarily true that you need to be stronger than the king of fish, which weighs over 200 kilograms, you still need "strength" to keep it on the shore after it's been thrown ashore...

"Well, the legendary fish is still a bit beyond my ability, but I won't give up. I'll definitely catch it again next time!"

"Fu?"

That fish looks really powerful. Could it be a member of Team Sunny?

"Why bring a Roaring Beast when it's already in the Sunny Team? It's already been added to the Pokédex, so let it stay in the Lake of Rage."

Link looked up at the night sky; the downpour seemed to have lessened somewhat.

Not long after, Lance, who was operating in Kaji Town, sent a message indicating that he and Shiba had wiped out the Team Rocket below, leaving no one behind.

In that case, he no longer needs to guard this escape route.

So he bid farewell to the fisherman who dreamed of catching the king of fish, and rode his Dragonite southwards back to Kaji Town at the foot of the mountain.

As Team Rocket's transmitter stopped interfering with the surroundings, Porygon once again received the same mysterious radio waves as those in the Dark Cave, clearly originating from another Ruins of Alpford beneath Lake of Rage.

Where does this melody, which sounds like a celestial flute, come from, and what does it want to express to people?

We can't really go to the Three Illusions Stage in the ruins of the capital and have Arceus create new life for Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina...

……

Link was utterly bewildered but impressed, and thus ended the day.

After his dream-filled battle with the Dream Sky Alliance ended in failure until dawn, he woke up early and scheduled a challenge for the Kaji Gym.

The Gym Leader of Kaji City is known as "the one who understands the harshness of winter." He has over fifty years of battling experience and is an Ice-type expert in the Johto region, renowned for his willpower.

It is said that his training method involves meditating while resisting the impact of a cold waterfall, making him a rather hardcore and strict old man.

Trainers with experience comparable to Master and Alder were not to be underestimated, so Link carefully assembled his team before challenging the gym. When he arrived deep inside the Kaji Gym, Lyub was sitting quietly on the icy surface emanating a chilling aura.

Aren't people in this world all physically strong?
Seeing that the challenger had arrived, Uncle Liu was ready to fight.

"Krillin, we owe you a lot for the Rockets, but the battle is a different matter. I will definitely give it my all and show you the strength of my name, 'Winter Willow.'"

"Ice is a very powerful type. I'm curious, how did Uncle Liu overcome the weakness of Ice-type Pokémon's low defense?"

So far, none of the trainers Link has seen, such as Soraka, Lorelei, and Bonnie, have been able to completely solve this problem. Surely an Ice-type trainer with over fifty years of battle experience should have his own ideas?
The second battle in the Johto region has begun.

"Go, you ivory pig!"

"Metal Monster, prepare for battle."

Although this Pokémon does not have the "Levitate" ability, it floats on the ground using magnetism the moment it enters the field.

The ivory pig, even heavier than the Roaring Pig, stirred up a burst of snow as it landed heavily.

Link remembered that this Pokémon was an Ice/Ground type physical attacker with the abilities "Hardness," "Snow Cloak," and "Thick Fat," and it was also quite fast.

At the start of the battle, Mamoswine, under the trainer's instructions, launched a "100,000 horsepower" charge at MetalGreymon.

Seeing this, he blinked. Ground-type moves don't just work on the ground. With Mamoswine's huge size, even MetalGreymon floating in the air can be attacked by these Ground-type moves.

But the metal monster didn't care. While letting its opponent charge at it, it clasped its claws together to gather energy.

Just as the Ivory Boar's charge was about to hit, the Metal Monster fired a "Cannon Beam," using the recoil to propel itself higher into the air, completely escaping the Ivory Boar's "100,000 horsepower" attack range.

The battle-hardened latter, even after taking a direct hit from a "cannon beam," did not stop. He decisively leaped high into the air and used the momentum from his weight to hurtle towards the metal monster in mid-air!
"Metta?"

It wouldn't be able to withstand being bumped by this pig!
But that doesn't matter, it aims to surpass the non-Psychic-type Fox in the field of psychic abilities and become the strongest Psychic-type Pokémon for trainers!
The metal monster quickly unleashed "Psychic Power" to attack and hinder the Ivory Boar's movements.

However, the latter's momentum was too great, and it could not be stopped by its "strong will" alone!
"Fu~"

The fox sighed, "How stupid! What are your two brains for?"

Link pondered for a moment. This metal monster really didn't know how to use "psychic powers" very well, actually trying to push the already surging meatball chicken horizontally.

In fact, a vertical force should be chosen in this situation, since the ivory pig cannot use its strength in mid-air; it simply jumps.

In the end, the Metal Monster failed to stop the Mamoswine and slammed it down with a "Bullet Punch" at the last moment.

Despite being attacked by a type that was weak to it, Mamoswine seemed to have taken little damage. As it landed, it unleashed a "blizzard" that swept away any opponents that came near it.

The metal monster strengthened its magnetic field to minimize the impact of the ice and snow.

The snow and wind blown out by the ivory pig had barely left its body when it was scattered into a mess by the opponent's magnetic field.

However, this allowed the Mamoswine to turn its "blizzard" into "snowfall," thus creating the weather effect in the battlefield.
