Honghuang: Eat a Hunyuan Daluo

Chapter 364 The Stone Monkey Finally Graduates, and the Bond Between Master and Disciple Ends

The four plots of land, A, B, C, and D, actually represent the four realms of Earth Immortal, Celestial Immortal, True Immortal, and Mysterious Immortal, respectively.

Every time Sun Wukong finishes cultivating a field, his physique is tempered, laying an unbreakable foundation at that level!

As for those above the Xuanxian level, Patriarch Bodhi could certainly continue to build upon them. If Patriarch Bodhi wished, he could create not only Xuanxian, but also Daluo and Quasi-Saint levels with a wave of his hand.

However, that would prevent him from achieving the nine grades of blossoming flowers that Bai Jing mentioned. Sun Wukong is a chosen one, born with extraordinary talent. As long as he lays a solid foundation, blossoming flowers into nine grades when he breaks through to the Great Luo realm will be a natural progression for him.

In addition, there is another reason: according to the cultivation system of the prehistoric world, cultivators can actually be divided into four stages: mortals, immortals, golden immortals, and great Luo immortals.

Even saints and those at the Heavenly Dao Realm are essentially still Great Luo Immortals; they've simply progressed further within the Great Luo Realm.

These four realms—mortal, immortal, and golden immortal—are the foundation. The golden immortal begins to build upon this foundation. Once one reaches this stage, regardless of the nature of the building, one can at least live as long as heaven and earth.

In other words, only cultivators at the Golden Immortal level or above could be considered to have a little bit of status in the prehistoric world.

As for "Da Luo," it means the house has been completed.

The quality of a building's construction can be judged by the number of flowers it displays.

Therefore, all the realms before achieving the Golden Immortal realm are laying the foundation. The purpose of Patriarch Bodhi was naturally to forge the most perfect foundation for Sun Wukong's Dao.

In the blink of an eye, another two years passed. Sun Wukong finished cultivating the Class C field, and his cultivation level naturally reached that of a Celestial Immortal.

Three years later, the B-grade field was also cultivated, and Sun Wukong's cultivation level soared to the level of a True Immortal.

On this day, after Sun Wukong finished tilling the land and eating, he was about to return to his bamboo house to rest when he was suddenly stopped by the Bodhi Patriarch from behind.

Sun Wukong quickly turned around, his face showing respect, "Is there anything else you need, Master?"

The Bodhi Patriarch asked, "How many years have you been on my Three Star Island?"

After a moment's thought, Sun Wukong replied, "This disciple remembers it has been more than six years."

Bodhi Patriarch then said, “Starting the day after tomorrow, you can cultivate the fields marked A. Every morning when you finish cultivating, come here to listen to my lectures. I will begin to teach you supernatural powers and techniques.”

Sun Wukong was overjoyed upon hearing this, for his purpose in going to sea was to learn supernatural powers and magic.
The day after tomorrow, Sun Wukong finished his morning of farming and, dragging his tired body, came to the wooden house of Patriarch Bodhi.

Bodhi Patriarch sat cross-legged on the wooden bed, with a futon placed below him. Sun Wukong immediately sat cross-legged on the futon.

Seeing that Sun Wukong was seated, Patriarch Bodhi asked, "Wukong, what supernatural powers and techniques do you wish to learn?"

"This disciple does not know what supernatural powers or techniques are involved. Please tell me, Master."

"How about I teach you a method within the 'art' school? The art involves invoking spirits, consulting oracles, and divining with yarrow stalks to understand how to seek good fortune and avoid misfortune."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong was puzzled. Should he reply, "Can one achieve immortality in this way?"

Then the patriarch told him, "No! No!"

He then said, "I won't learn! I won't learn!"

But Sun Wukong didn't say that. Instead, he answered very firmly, "If I learn this method, I will be able to predict the future and avoid misfortune. I want to learn it. Please teach me, teacher."

Upon hearing this, Patriarch Bodhi nodded, raised his hand, and pointed, and an extremely profound method appeared in Sun Wukong's mind.

After digesting the information for a while, Sun Wukong said, "Thank you, teacher. I have gained some insights."

Bodhi Patriarch was somewhat surprised upon hearing this, clearly not expecting Sun Wukong to be able to grasp the basics so quickly.

Seeing his prey, Patriarch Bodhi was delighted and spoke again, saying, "How about I teach you the way of the 'Flow' school? The 'Flow' school includes Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, Yin-Yang School, Mohism, and medicine. Some people read scriptures, some chant Buddha's name, and some worship the true saints."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong shook his head: "Master, I am not interested in reading."

"Very well, how about I teach you the way of 'stillness'? This is to abstain from grain and guard the valley, to be quiet and inactive, to practice meditation, to observe silence and fasting."

"Teacher, I am a monkey, and I am afraid I cannot concentrate on meditating on the Tao."

"How about I teach you the way of the 'movement' method? This involves action and movement, gathering yin to replenish yang, climbing the bow and stepping on the crossbow, and massaging the navel to release qi."

"This disciple does not enjoy matters of passion and desire."

"You monkey, you're quite picky. I've said so much, and you've only learned one. Since that's the case, you can tell me what you want to learn. If you don't know the names of the supernatural powers and techniques, just say what type of supernatural powers and techniques you want to learn."

"Replying to Master, I have heard that there are thirty-six Heavenly Divine Powers and seventy-two Earthly Divine Powers in this primordial world. I wish to learn these divine powers."

Upon hearing this, Patriarch Bodhi shook his head and said, "I cannot teach you these supernatural powers. If you wish to learn them, I can only pass on the Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang and the Seventy-Two Transformations of the Earthly Fiends."

What's the difference between the two?

"These Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang and Seventy-Two Transformations of the Earthly Fiends were derived by your master from the Thirty-Six Great Divine Powers of the Heavenly Gang and the Seventy-Two Minor Divine Powers of the Earthly Fiends. The difference is that what your master taught you is easier to cultivate, and its power is no less than the original divine power. However, some special divine powers, such as the Seven Arrows of Nailhead, have been erased by your master."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong was thrilled and immediately expressed his desire to learn.

Patriarch Bodhi then taught Sun Wukong the Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang and the Seventy-Two Transformations of the Earthly Fiends.

From this day forward, in addition to farming, Sun Wukong will also devote his mind to cultivating his supernatural powers, and his days will become more and more fulfilling.

Before he knew it, another three years had passed, and Sun Wukong had already mastered the Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang and the Seventy-Two Transformations of the Earthly Fiends.

Patriarch Bodhi then taught Sun Wukong the Somersault Cloud Technique and the Hunyuan Staff Technique. In order to prevent Sun Wukong from becoming too obsessed with supernatural powers and magic and losing his Daoist mind, Patriarch Bodhi would also tell Sun Wukong about the history of the primordial world after dinner every day, so that Sun Wukong would know how vast this world is.

Ultimately, all of this is to teach the monkey the principle that there are always people more capable than you, and that there is always something beyond your understanding.

The Bodhi Patriarch's sermon was vivid and interesting, and he quickly finished recounting the story of Pangu creating the world.

After listening, Sun Wukong seemed to be deep in thought and asked, "May I ask, teacher, why did the three thousand Chaos Demons try to stop the Great God Pangu from creating the world?"

Patriarch Bodhi sighed, “Three thousand demon gods fought each other in the chaos, and fought for countless eons. In the end, they were willing to join forces against the enemy. There is only one thing that can make these darlings of the Great Dao put down their pride and unite. Wukong, why don’t you guess what it is?”

After pondering for a long time, Sun Wukong tentatively asked, "Teacher, it must be that the Great God Pangu created the primordial world, threatening the lives of the three thousand Chaos Demons, right?" Patriarch Bodhi slowly nodded and said in a deep voice, "That's right. The three thousand Chaos Demons represent the three thousand Great Daos. The Great Daos have no inherent strength or weakness. Every Great Dao, when taken to its extreme, is invincible."

However, the Chaos Gods themselves vary in strength, which makes the Three Thousand Great Daos appear to have differences in strength.

Even so, this difference in strength is still within an acceptable range, while the Great God Pangu has entered a completely different realm compared to the Chaos Gods.

If they successfully create the primordial world, the Great God Pangu will ascend once more. At that time, the gap between the Great God Pangu and the three thousand Chaos Demons will become immense, enough to easily annihilate them. The Chaos Demons, feeling their lives threatened, would surely be eager to act!

Sun Wukong gasped, his eyes wide with shock: "The Great God Pangu is so powerful!"

Through Bodhi Patriarch's explanation, Sun Wukong could barely imagine how powerful the Chaos Demon God was, but Pangu was far stronger than the Chaos Demon God. With Sun Wukong's limited knowledge, he could no longer imagine what kind of being Pangu was.

Seeing Sun Wukong's frightened expression, Patriarch Bodhi chuckled, picked up a cup of tea, took a sip, and said, "Don't bite off more than you can chew. Let's stop here for today. Come back tomorrow."

Sun Wukong nodded obediently: "Yes, teacher."

The next day, Sun Wukong huffed and puffed as he finished tilling a plot of land, then went back to the wooden house to listen to the Bodhi Patriarch preach.

"After the creation of the world, there will be a great calamity of ferocious beasts! What is the great calamity of ferocious beasts? The so-called ferocious beasts are actually the evil energy, resentment and hatred that were transformed after the three thousand demon gods fell."

They were killed by Pangu in their lifetime, carrying with them a strong obsession with destruction, intending to destroy the primordial world. "The Bodhi Patriarch slowly recounted the story of the Great Calamity of Ferocious Beasts.

"The strongest chosen one in this calamity is a ferocious beast named Shen Ni, also known as the Beast King."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong asked with great curiosity, "How powerful is this Beast King? How does it compare to your master?"

Bodhi Patriarch's face stiffened. During the great calamity of the ferocious beasts in the past, he had just taken human form. How could he compare with Shen Ni?
At that time, among the native creatures of the primordial world, only the Ancestral Dragon, the Primordial Phoenix, and the Primordial Qilin were qualified to challenge Shenni.

Therefore, when faced with the stone monkey's question, Bodhi Patriarch smiled awkwardly and said, "Hehe, that Shenni has existed for too long, and I have never seen Shenni. We're evenly matched."

As darkness fell, bright stars dotted the inky night sky. Sun Wukong, filled with excitement, stepped out of the wooden hut.

Although I worked hard during the day, I didn't feel tired at all; on the contrary, I was filled with excitement.

The great calamity of ferocious beasts, the rebellion of the Beast King, and the three races of Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin—all these events were constantly refreshing Sun Wukong's worldview.

In the days that followed, Patriarch Bodhi told Sun Wukong about the history of the primordial world every night, from the creation of heaven and earth all the way to the great calamity of the witches and demons.

The Patriarch Bodhi explained in detail, captivating Sun Wukong: "Master, the Demon Clan's Heavenly Court is so powerful, and the Witch Clan also has the Twelve Heavenly Gods and Demons Formation as their trump card, so who will win in the end?"

Upon hearing this, Patriarch Bodhi's face showed a hint of reminiscence. "Under the great calamity, who can become the true winner? Do you still remember the fate of the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin clans?"

Sun Wukong's expression changed drastically: "Master, could it be that the Lich and Demon races have also perished together?"

"Total destruction, you could say that, but you couldn't say that either. After this great calamity, most of the members of the Lich and Demon races did indeed disappear from the primordial world, especially the Demon race, whose high-end combat power was almost completely lost. But now they are living very well in their own world."

"My own world?"

"This is related to the Six Realms of the Primordial World, and when talking about the Six Realms, one cannot avoid mentioning a powerful being whose name I cannot casually reveal."

Upon hearing this, Sun Wukong couldn't help but recall what the system had said: there were three beings in the primordial world whose names he could not mention, and it seemed that one of them was related to the creation of the Six Realms.

Spring came and autumn went, and Sun Wukong continued to cultivate the land every day without ceasing.

Soon, eight years passed, and the Class A field was also cultivated!
The history lesson taught by Patriarch Bodhi also covered the end of the Investiture of the Gods, where Sun Wukong gained a completely new understanding of the Three Realms and the countless immortals and Buddhas.

Sun Wukong's cultivation has also advanced by leaps and bounds, reaching the peak of the Xuanxian realm. He only needs one more opportunity to break through to the Jinxian realm!
He had mastered all thirty-six transformations of the Heavenly Gang and the seventy-two transformations of the Earthly Fiends, and had even mastered the Somersault Cloud and Hunyuan Staff Technique.

One day, after finishing plowing the field, Sun Wukong carried his hoe and came to the wooden house, ready to continue listening to his teacher tell stories, only to find the door of the wooden house tightly closed.

Sun Wukong didn't take it seriously, and with a smile, he put down his hoe and knocked on the wooden door. But this time, there was no response from inside the door for a long time, and the smile on Sun Wukong's face suddenly froze.

He raised his hand, tapped it twice, and said loudly, "Teacher, I am Sun Wukong!"

The wooden door remained completely still.

Sun Wukong panicked and transformed into a streak of light, searching all over Three Star Island, but still could not find the figure of Patriarch Bodhi.

Sun Wukong returned to the front of the wooden house, his magical power surging forth, and prepared to push open the door.

No matter how powerful Sun Wukong was, when he struck the wooden door, it was like a mud ox sinking into the sea, unable to stir up the slightest ripple.

"Teacher, open the door!" Sun Wukong's eyes were red as he pounded on the wooden door, his voice hoarse.

There was no response from the quaint wooden house. One day, two days, countless days passed.

Sun Wukong stood guard in front of the wooden door, waiting for Patriarch Bodhi to open it.

However, the wooden doors were tightly closed and covered with a thick layer of dust. The four spiritual fields, A, B, C, and D, which were once shrouded in spiritual energy and glow, had become dim and lifeless.

It seems that the Bodhi Patriarch truly departed silently overnight.

After an unknown amount of time, Sun Wukong got up and kowtowed three times in the direction of the wooden door.

After Sun Wukong finished kowtowing, the voice of Patriarch Bodhi appeared in the sky: "Wukong, all good things must come to an end. I have already taught you everything I needed to teach you. There is nothing more for you to learn if you continue on Three Star Island. You may leave now!"

Remember that you are my disciple Bodhi. When you travel through the primordial world, you must not bully others or cause harm to the region. Otherwise, your master will personally capture you and send your soul to the Netherworld.

But you must never let anyone bully you. If you encounter someone you cannot defeat, you can ask your master for help. Your master will be waiting for your return on Three Star Island.

Sun Wukong's eyes reddened after hearing this, but he persevered and did not shed a tear. He looked at the Three Star Island, his mind filled with countless thoughts.

The initial ignorance upon arriving on the island, the hard work and toil while tilling the fields, the joy and excitement upon becoming a disciple, and the curiosity and shock while listening to lectures—all these emotions surged into Sun Wukong's heart, shaping his Daoist heart.

Sun Wukong exhaled a breath of stale air, his expression hardening. He took one last deep look at Three Star Island, then turned and left without looking back.

The instant Sun Wukong turned around, he finally broke through the bottleneck of the peak of the Xuanxian realm and advanced to the Golden Immortal realm. (End of Chapter)
