Chapter 28: The Exile

In the pickup truck, one of the two men in the bed shot Huo Ying, while the other half-knelt, pressing the wound on the wolfhound with his hand.

"That bastard, the arrow has barbs on it and can't be pulled out. Erhei, Erhei, hold on, I'll find a doctor in town to save you right away."

The wolfdog named Erhei seemed to want to respond, but the severe pain caused its muscles to twitch twice, and as a result, the wolf fangs on the arrow pierced deeper, seeming to involve an organ. Erhei soon spit out blood foam, and was only breathing out, not much breathing in.

"Fuck him, I'm going to kill him!"

Seeing that the dog he raised had died, the man wanted to jump off the pickup truck like a madman, but was held down by his companions.

"Zhang Long, don't be impulsive. Wait until we catch a guide. We are not familiar with this place. If we rush in rashly, it will be difficult for you to avenge Erhei."

Zhang Long panted heavily and stared at the direction where Huo Ying left with red eyes for a long time before he sat down dejectedly beside the dead wolfdog.

The driver of the pickup truck took a look at the path that Huo Ying had entered and couldn't help but say, "Boss, this town is a bit tricky. That woman hacked four of our brothers to death before, and just as she chased us, another dog died."

The man called the Boss was a burly black man. The back seat of the pickup truck was very spacious, but it looked like the black man could break the car body if he just raised his head. He was only wearing a thin vest, and his arms were exposed to the air. His huge muscles were like black iron lumps squeezed together.

Before the black man could respond, the driver interrupted and said, "If the boss hadn't told us not to do anything, would that woman have gotten away alive?"

The black man glanced at the town outside the car window. Although it was dilapidated, it still looked well-organized compared to the suburbs. The black man's voice was very heavy: "That woman must live and must work for us. She is the only infected person I have seen who can travel through the wilderness without dispelling runes. If we capture her in the suburbs, I'm afraid she will choose to die. Only by letting her come back and grabbing her weakness can we make her work for us honestly."

"As long as we have her, we can go anywhere and won't be restricted by resources. We can even control all the villages and towns around XN City and get more resources than we can use up in several lifetimes."

The co-pilot asked curiously, "Boss, how can you be sure that this woman has a soft spot in this town?"

The black man looked calmly at the three younger brothers in the car. These three people were infected people who were extremely good at fighting. Even when they were ordinary people, they had a record of killing infected people.

But although these three men are strong in fighting, none of them has any brains, and they have to rely on this black man to figure out how to do anything.

"Have you forgotten what that woman was trying so hard to protect?"

"It's a suppressant."

"Inhibitors can only be used on non-infected people, and that woman is already infected. If there is no one she cares about in the town, why would she work so hard?"

"Fuck, that makes sense!" The person in the co-pilot seat slapped his forehead.

The driver kept nodding his head, praising the black man's ingenuity.

The black man did not respond, but looked at the thin man sitting next to him.

"Hungry ghost, go to the cart and protect the last hound. It can still be used."

"Yes."

The hungry ghost held an arm-long hunting knife in his hand. He leaned out of the car window lightly, then swung it and landed silently in the bed of the car, not affected by the speed of the car at all.

No matter where that woman is hiding, as long as there is a hound alive, it can search for everyone in the town.

Woof, woof woof woof!
The hound suddenly barked at a low house, and the pickup truck slammed on the brakes and stopped to the side.

The six people in the car were obviously infected and were not affected by inertia at all.

"Open the door."

The driver was about to rush into the house, but was stopped by the black boss with a look.

The black man slowly got out of the car. When he stood up, he was a head taller than the pickup truck. He easily took off the horn on the top of the pickup truck. The black man looked at the house coldly: "Come out and surrender, or we will burn this house down."

As the black man spoke, the co-pilot took out a bucket of gasoline from the car. "Three."

"two."

Squeak.

The door opened.

Wang Kai walked out of the room with his hands raised high and a look of horror on his face.

He looked around quietly, and saw the black people who looked like a small mountain. He also saw that the others were still holding rifles. He quickly begged for mercy: "I surrender, I surrender, don't shoot, don't kill me, I will give you everything in my house!"

The dog trainer next to Zhang Long touched the hound's head, and the hound bared its teeth and snorted at Wang Kai a few times.

The driver smiled, flashed away, and rushed into the house, missing Wang Kai.

Wang Kai's face changed, and just as he was about to say something, the co-pilot pointed a rifle at his forehead.

There was no sound of fighting in the room. The door opened and the driver came out with a grin, dragging Wang Kai's son Wang Tianhua.

"Boss, this old guy hid his son."

The driver was very strong, and Wang Tianhua, a young man, was carried out by the driver like a chicken.

The driver's hands were pinching Wang Tianhua's neck. Wang Tianhua's face turned red and he couldn't make a sound.

"Let him go, I will give you everything. I won't resist, and we didn't resist either!" Wang Kai was a little excited, but he didn't dare to resist, so he could only kneel on the ground with a plop.

The driver snorted and let go of his hand. Wang Tianhua immediately fell to the ground, gasping for breath.

The tall black man paced up to Wang Kai, his iron tower-like body blocking the sunlight, and the black man's shadow covered Wang Kai like a devil.

"Well, he's a good father for protecting his son. I like that."

"Let me introduce myself. I'm an exile. On the wanted posters in XN City, I'm called Chen."

"I hope you can make the right choice for your children."

"It's my choice. I can do anything. Just let him go. Please." Wang Kai agreed hurriedly.

The black man nodded in satisfaction: "Let's find another woman to lead the way. Find all the women you know for me."

Lead the way?

Wang Kai's pupils shrank, he lowered his head, and kowtowed to the black man: "I, all the resources in my family, I will give you, I can also be your slave, do any hard work for you, but I can't lead you, I really don't know where others live."

Ok?
The black man raised an eyebrow.

"Captain, I leave it to you."

The black man turned around and went back into the car. The driver laughed, took out a dagger and pressed Wang Tianhua's little finger.

"Old man, if you tell a lie again, your son will lose a finger."

Wang Tianhua was pinned down so hard that he couldn't move at all. He could only scream in fear: "Dad, save me, Dad, save me."

Wang Kai's eyes flickered for a moment, and then he gritted his teeth and said, "Isn't it enough to give you all my things? I really don't know where others live..."
