Chapter 14 Entering Hogwarts

Chapter 14 Entering Hogwarts
There are four major houses in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff.

The four colleges represent the four ideas of the four founders of the school.

The formation of a person's ideas is closely related to his background, growth environment, and ability range.

Up to now, the division of the four colleges is basically equivalent to four social groups.

Although there are always some exceptions, most people will go to a certain college and work in that group after graduation.

Of course, the reason is not only the atmosphere of the college. The personal connections they make on campus make it easier for them to develop in related fields, just like there are few people who have studied film for a few years and then suddenly go into scientific research.

The colleges at Hogwarts are not some low-end majors with no employment prospects. As long as you can graduate and follow the pace, you will be able to make a living.

Roger had only one idea about his house sorting: it didn't matter if it wasn't Slytherin.

With my status, it would be a lot of fun if I went to Slytherin!
I'm afraid it will be difficult to concentrate on studying for quite a long time.

Judging from his memories of past lives, the Sorting Hat not only takes the young wizard's spiritual qualities into consideration when allocating places, but also takes the wizard's own wishes into consideration.

But...it's better to ask just in case.

Roger did not completely believe the information in his memory because of two problems.

First, Harry Potter has novels, movies, radio plays, stage plays... Who knows which world line this is, and what the differences are between different world lines? Roger has only seen part of the movie.

Second, from the magic books given to him by Professor McGonagall and the two history books in his bag, he could tell that the wizarding world was far more complicated than what was shown in the movies.

Just like a state or province in a big country cannot represent the complex situation of the entire country or even the world.

Therefore, when encountering critical issues, even with memories of his past life, Roger would analyze each case specifically.

"Hufflepuff, I'd like to go there if I could," Hannah replied seriously.

After the incident just now, Hannah suddenly realized that Roger might be different from what she had thought before.

...Could it be that part of the legend told by the drunkard is true?
In daily life, she didn't see any extraordinary aura of a leader of any faction in Roger, so she was a little confused by some outrageous rumors and thought that Roger was just an ordinary nerd.

"I, I haven't thought about it yet." Neville looked a little nervous.

But Roger could see that although he said he hadn't thought it through, he already had a preference in his heart, but he just didn't dare to face that choice.

It is human nature to check grades, to call parents when something goes wrong, to confess one's feelings, and to hesitate on major issues.

After thinking about the backgrounds of these two people and some other information he knew, Roger nodded. He had a rough idea about this matter.

When the train arrived at the station, the little wizards who had changed into their school uniforms in the changing room poured out of the carriage like a stream of water.

Roger and his companions boarded the bus during the day, and by the time they arrived at Hogwarts, it was already dark.

Although the school uniform has a constant temperature magic that keeps it warm in winter and cool in summer, the cold wind at night is still uncomfortable on the skin.

After getting off the bus, the students divided into two groups.

Some senior students went directly to the main gate of Hogwarts, while the first-year students had other arrangements.

"First years! First years come over here! Harry, come over here, how are you?"

Above the crowd of people, a tall figure said with a smile.

A little boy wearing glasses approached him.

Although it was the first time they met, Roger recognized him, Dumbledore's confidant, the half-giant Hagrid.

"Come on, follow me. Are there any first-year students? Watch your step. Okay! First-year students, follow me!"

According to tradition, all first-year students who want to enter Hogwarts must retrace the path that the four founders of the school had taken.

Following a long, steep and narrow path through the dark forest, at the end of the road you can see a huge and majestic castle built on the hillside, and in front of the castle is a bottomless lake.

There are small boats floating on the lake. The four founders crossed the lake by boat and built Hogwarts on the mountain.

"No more than four people in each boat!" Hagrid shouted, pointing to a fleet of small boats moored to the shore.

Walk through the forest and across the lake, climb up the rock tunnel, reach the wet grass, and then climb up a flight of stone steps.

The first years were safe and sound, gathered in front of a large oak door.

After making sure everyone was present, Hagrid knocked on the door three times.

After opening the door, a familiar face appeared in front of Roger, a tall witch in emerald green robes, Professor McGonagall.

After Hagrid finished the handover with her, McGonagall glanced at the group of students, paused on Roger for a second before retracting her gaze and leading the freshmen into Hogwarts. As they walked, they began to talk about the Sorting.

"Huh?!" Roger was surprised.

Although some memories are already fuzzy.

But I will never forget the famous scenes in the movie.

Normally, shouldn't the next scene be the first meeting between Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter?

Has fate changed?
But when he saw the Sorting Hat, Roger instantly suppressed his surprise.

He knew that his next test was coming.

The Sorting Hat at Hogwarts has the ability to read thoughts and see directly into one's heart. This is something that I must pay attention to. If an accident occurs at this stage, I am afraid that my situation will be even worse than being sent to Azkaban!
For Roger, it didn't matter if future intelligence was exposed, because it was well known that he was a prophet.

Even if his resurrection was exposed, it wouldn't matter. Magic always had some magical phenomena. Physical death was not considered complete death for wizards.

But I must never reveal that I am from another world, otherwise who knows what kind of trouble will happen!
As for how to deal with it, Roger has his own way.

Occlumency? That was one way, but it would be too deliberate, and Roger didn't have the means to learn that kind of spell right now.

Roger's method is very simple. It is impossible for the Sorting Hat to search all memories. There are many people in the wizarding world who have secrets that they are unwilling to reveal. If it were really that magical, the hat would have been destroyed long ago.

It should only be able to retrieve a person's thoughts at the 'moment', and roughly judge a person's character based on the disturbance of magic and thinking.

This is much easier to do...

When Roger was ready, the sorting ceremony began under the attention of all Hogwarts students and professors!

Come forward one by one according to your name, from A to Z!
