Chapter 210 Pure Land of Bliss
Chapter 210 Pure Land of Bliss
Dali is a continuous mountain range north of Shanju County and south of Tubo.
Mu Wanqing packed her things at home, even putting some of her childhood toys into her bag, then thought for a moment and walked out of the yard.
Qin Hongmian shouted from behind: "Wan'er, where are you going?"
Mu Wanqing turned around and said, "Mother, I'm going to Kufan Temple. I may have trouble returning after leaving the mountains. I'll burn another stick of incense for the Bodhisattva."
Qin Hongmian said, "Come back early, we have to rush back to Dali City tomorrow."
Mu Wanqing responded, "I understand."
She walked briskly, like a skylark, along the winding mountain road towards the Kufan Temple.
This part of the mountain is sparsely populated, and the houses are very close to the temple. Mu Wanqing admired the scenery along the way, feeling happy, and arrived in front of the temple after a while.
Because there was no sutra meeting, no one gathered in front of the Kufan Temple. Instead, there were two mountain villagers burning incense in the small hall inside. One of them held the incense in both hands and muttered something in a low voice, while the other put the incense into the burner, closed his eyes and clasped his hands, as if making a wish in his heart.
The young monk Tongqin had nothing to do at the moment, so he was leaning on his broom and daydreaming. When he saw Mu Wanqing, he hurriedly greeted her, "Miss Mu, it's been a long time since we last met. Have you returned from the mountain?"
Mu Wanqing nodded: "How are the masters?"
The little monk said, "Everything is fine. Miss Mu said before that she was going to her friend's place to get the black rose. Did she bring it back this time?"
Mu Wanqing smiled and said, "The horse doesn't want to come back, and I can't lead it. I'll pack up my things and go outside the mountain to live with the horse."
The little monk asked curiously, "Black Rose doesn't want to go back to the mountain? Can she tolerate the restrictions outside?"
Mu Wanqing nodded: "It's not restricted at all. It eats well and sleeps well. It likes to be comfortable and pampered. It doesn't miss the mountains at all. It has long forgotten about home. It is a heartless horse."
The little monk smiled and said, "As long as it lives a good life, it's fine. We are just worried that it will not like the life outside. After all, we have watched it grow up since it was young, and most people in the temple are worried about it."
Mu Wanqing said, "I am going with it this time. I am afraid I will rarely come back to the mountain in the future. I am here to burn incense to the Bodhisattva today and will leave tomorrow."
The little monk clasped his hands and said, "As long as there is Buddha in your heart, Buddha is everywhere. No matter where you are, there is Kufan Temple everywhere."
Mu Wanqing smiled and said, "Is Master Juefa here?"
The young monk said, "The abbot went to another temple to exchange Buddhist teachings, but he left something behind and asked me to give it to the girl."
Mu Wanqing wondered, "I've never heard of Master Juefa leaving. Where did he go?"
The young monk said, "Master went to the south of Dali, walking ascetically, saying that all the temples along the way could be used for discussing the sutras and preaching."
Mu Wanqing nodded: "I wonder what the master gave me?"
The young monk said, "The abbot didn't tell me, I'll get it for the girl now."
Mu Wanqing said: "Then I will burn incense, and this time all eight gods will pay their respects."
The young monk said, "Miss Mu, please do as you please. I'll go get the things." After saying that, he put down the broom in his hand and went to the back door of the small hall.
Mu Wanqing took out the sandalwood and first bowed to the Bodhisattva Nagarjuna in front of her. She silently recited scriptures for a while and then turned to the Eight God Kings on both sides.
She burned incense to each god king one by one, and took a careful look at each statue of a god king when she came to it. When she was done, the little monk came back from the back door.
He held a gray cloth bag in his hand and said, "Miss Mu, this is what the abbot left for you."
Mu Wanqing took it and opened it. She saw that it was an old wooden box and asked, "What is this?"
The young monk said, "The abbot didn't say anything, so you can see for yourself."
Mu Wanqing opened the box and found an old book with the words "Dazhidu Sutra" written on it. She couldn't help but say, "So the master gave me this sutra."
She then pushed the wooden box closed, tied up the cloth bag, and sighed, "It's a pity that I can't say goodbye to the master. If the master comes back, Master Tongqin will say goodbye on my behalf."
The young monk nodded: "Don't worry, young lady. I will definitely convey your message."
Mu Wanqing smiled slightly, and when all the incense sticks she had offered were burned out, she left the temple.
At this time, the sun had just passed noon, and the mountain breeze was blowing gently. She was filled with joy and walked towards home. When she was halfway there, she suddenly saw a dark shadow flashing on the road leading into the mountains in the distance.
She couldn't help but stop and wonder, it seemed to be a horse, could there be other wild horses in this mountain?
Just as she was thinking, the black shadow flashed again. This time she could see it more clearly than before. She couldn't help but exclaim in surprise: "Black Rose?"
Mu Wanqing was stunned. The black shadow was a black horse. Although it only flashed by, it looked familiar and very similar to the Black Rose.
But Black Rose should be in the Prince of Yan's Mansion in Tokyo at this moment. Zhao Ti did not bring it with him when he went on the diplomatic mission to Western Xia, and he did not ride it back. How could it be possible for it to run back to Dali Mountains on its own?
Mu Wanqing rubbed her eyes. Was she seeing things, or was it a horse that looked similar to Black Rose?
She hesitated slightly and then chased after him, wondering if they were Black Rose's parents, or its brothers and sisters?
The black shadow in front was running very fast, heading straight into the mountains. The more Mu Wanqing chased it, the more confused she became. The more she looked, the more it looked like Black Rose, or even a horse. But how did it get out of Tokyo City, and why was it running away at this moment?
She couldn't help but use her Qinggong skills, chasing while shouting Black Rose's name. At this time, the horse in front went straight to the side of the mountain.
Although the mountains stretched for who knows how far and how long, the black shadow did not move to the sides, but actually flew towards the other side of the mountain.
I don’t know how much time passed, but I gradually crossed the mountain and came to the other side of the mountain. I saw a black shadow running down the mountain quickly.
Mu Wanqing continued to use her Qinggong skills and went down the mountain faster than she went up. It didn't take long for her to reach the foot of the mountain on this side.
This side is the border between Dali and Tubo. On the other side of the road and fields at the foot of the mountain is the Tubo Kingdom. Not far away, you can see the majestic snow-capped mountains. Even in summer, the tops of the mountains are still white.
The black shadow in front crossed the middle road and the uneven field and ran straight towards the snow-capped mountains in the distance.
Mu Wanqing felt a little anxious when she saw this. She glanced at the sky and saw that it was already past mid-afternoon. She thought for a few breaths and couldn't help but clasp her hands together, calling out Black Rose's name.
The dark shadow in the distance heard the sound and stopped, looked back at her, and then continued to run into the snow mountain.
Mu Wanqing gritted her teeth, frowned and chased after him. After a while, they entered the snowy mountains.
There are actually Tibetan residents at the foot of this huge snow-capped mountain. Most of the Tibetans who go to the Kufan Temple on the other side of the huge mountains to listen to the sutras are residents living under this huge snow-capped mountain, but it is rare to find people inside the mountain.
Mu Wanqing chased in the mountains for a while and gradually felt that she had lost her direction. At this time, she felt the cool air in the snow-capped mountains and her mind became clearer.
She wondered how could it be Black Rose? If it was Black Rose's parents or brothers and sisters, they were just wild horses in the mountains. Why would she chase them here?
At this moment, she looked around and didn't know where she was in the mountains. She had never been to the Great Snow Mountain before. The peaks were all white, and some lush green was visible below due to the season, but she didn't know where in the mountains she was.
Mu Wanqing thought to herself that she had martial arts skills and knew that her home was in the mountains east of the Snow Mountain, so she could always get out, so she was not too worried.
She looked into the distance and saw that there seemed to be a valley or something like that. The black shadow was still running and plunged into the valley.
Mu Wanqing glanced at the sun in the sky and couldn't help wondering, the valley seemed to be in the east, did it go around and around and come back? If she wanted to go down the mountain and head east, it seemed that she had to pass by that valley.
She jumped up and walked towards the valley. After a moment she stopped and looked inside. It seemed to be just a valley and the black shadow was no longer there.
Mu Wanqing thought for a moment and realized that since it was a valley, there might be no other exit. The black shadow had entered here, so it must be the wild horse's home in the snowy mountains. She didn't want to chase it anymore, but she might as well go in and take a look if she passed by here.
She stepped into the col and saw beautiful scenery on both sides, without any ice or snow, and the climate was as warm as spring.
Until she reached the wide area inside, she couldn't help but show a look of surprise on her face. In front of her was a place as beautiful as a fairyland.
Just look at the clouds above, and the sun seems to shine with a sacred light, illuminating everything in front of you. The meadow is like a green carpet, the blue lake is like an eye, the flowers are spread out wantonly, and the breeze brings a faint floral fragrance.
There are many beautiful buildings of all sizes, as well as many magnificent palaces, stretching from near to far. The sound of long bells can be heard in the ears, and the golden roofs of the distant temples are shining, like a dream paradise, peaceful and intoxicating.
The breeze was blowing gently at this time, without any idle sounds, and all of them were like heavenly music, making the heart feel cleansed, peaceful, comfortable and pleasant.
It seems to be a paradise. At first glance, one would imagine that the people living here should be kind-hearted, helping and loving each other. There should be no disputes or sufferings, and it should be full of warmth and gentleness everywhere.
It seems like an ideal country, where there are no worries, smiles are always on the horizon, fairness and hope are always there, life is full of peace, and everything is perfect.
There must be order here, truth and goodness flow, people respect each other equally, all good things are cherished, dreams bloom, and it is a place full of happiness.
Mu Wanqing stared blankly ahead, and a few words popped up in her mind: Shambhala.
She often heard the abbot of Kufan Temple mention Shambhala. Every time the old monk preached to the mountain people, he would mention this place, saying that this is the pure land of Amitabha Buddha, an ideal bliss, with the best life, and a country full of happiness and peace.
Is this Shambhala? Mu Wanqing murmured to herself, and walked forward unconsciously...
