Chapter 621 The Eliminated Contestants Have Arrived

Chapter 621 The Eliminated Contestants Have Arrived (1st Update)
Shinichi Kudo and Heiji Hattori exchanged a glance, their brows furrowed.

When they learned that Shiraishi E had been eliminated, they both saw disbelief in each other's eyes.

"Something's not right," Shinichi said in a low voice, unconsciously touching his chin. "With Shiraishi's abilities, how could he be eliminated so early?"

He had solved several cases with the other party before, and their efficiency was exceptionally fast!
How could a question of this level possibly stump the other party?
Heiji scratched his head, looking puzzled. "Yeah! That guy is clearly more perceptive than anyone else!"

Hearing their conversation, Sera said directly, "He answered wrong on purpose."

"What?" Shinichi and Heiji exclaimed in unison.

Miwako Sato nodded and added, "Shiraishi noticed the window problem before the quiz even started. But he chose the wrong answer, clearly choosing to be eliminated voluntarily."

This surprised Shinichi and Heiji, who realized that Shiraishi E must have noticed something.

Hakuba Saguru raised an eyebrow, a hint of disdain in his voice: "You guys care so much about an unknown detective?"

Sera Masumi had long disliked him, and immediately glared at Hakuba: "Just because he's unknown doesn't mean he's not capable! He discovered something none of you noticed!"

Hakuba Saguru was taken aback by this sudden rebuttal, then sneered, "Oh? What remarkable thing did he discover?"

"Those maids are suspicious!" Sera Masumi exclaimed, hands on her hips. "Shiraishi has wanted to investigate the maids' dormitory for a long time, but we stopped him!"

"And when he checked the room just now, he noticed the anomaly at the window in less than ten minutes—much faster than you 'famous detectives'!"

Sato Miwako also stepped forward: "That's right, I can testify. Shiraishi-kun's observational skills are indeed extraordinary."

Shinichi's brows furrowed even more.

He recalled the previous content to see if there were any details he had overlooked.

Heiji scratched his head in frustration: "That guy! He found something and didn't even tell us!"

“Indeed.” Sera Masumi pouted. “It’s not a good habit to keep clues to yourself.”

Sato Miwako sighed, "There's no point in saying all this now. Let's go check the room again and see if we can find anything Shiraishi noticed."

The group returned to the crime scene on the second floor and began a thorough search.

Shinichi carefully inspected the windows, Heiji searched under the bed, Hakuba examined the bedside table, and Sera Masumi even climbed to the top of the wardrobe to check.

However, half an hour passed and they still hadn't found anything.

“Strange,” Shinichi muttered to himself, “what exactly did I miss?”

Just then, Tokitsu Junya strolled over with an unpleasant smile on his face: "Still reviewing? Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try, I'm still number one."

Shinichi and the others were taken aback by this sudden mockery.

Just as Sera Masumi was about to explode, Sato Miwako pulled her back and shook her head.

Suddenly, a sharp gunshot pierced the night sky.

Everyone froze in place.

On this isolated island, the sound of gunfire seemed particularly jarring.

"What happened?" Heiji's voice was tense. "Why were there gunshots here?"

A scream suddenly came from downstairs: "Something's appeared!"

Everyone rushed downstairs and saw the dining table in the center of the restaurant slowly separating to reveal a transparent bulletproof display case underneath.

The display case was neatly arranged with various pistols, rifles, and even a few shotguns.

Next to the display case, a 30-minute countdown was ticking.

The other detectives were confused: "That's strange, what's the production team doing?"

"Yeah, they suddenly handed us guns. This is a mystery show!"

"Could there be some clues hidden in these guns?"

"…………" The other detectives were confused, but Shinichi and the others had already figured it out.

Hakuba Saguru immediately realized: "The display case won't open for another thirty minutes."

Miwako Sato's face turned pale: "The gunshot just now..."

"Could it be one of those eliminated contestants?" Shinichi had to bring up this possibility.

"They have guns!" Sera Masumi exclaimed. "They're here to kill us!"

Just then, a detective with blood on his shoulder stumbled into the villa: "Run! Those eliminated contestants... They've gone mad! They're killing anyone they see!"

Chaos erupted inside the villa; everyone panicked.

Shinichi made a decisive decision immediately, saying, "We must open the display case and get the weapon right now!!"

Everyone took action immediately.

Miwako Sato grabbed a chair and slammed it hard against the display case. With a muffled thud, the chair shattered, but the display case remained completely intact.

Sera Masumi found a baseball bat and slammed it down with all her might, only to receive a crisp "clang" in return.

Other detectives joined in, trying to break the display case with various tools, but the bulletproof glass was unbreakable.

“It’s no use,” White Horse Scout examined the edge of the display case. “This is military-grade bulletproof glass; it can’t be opened by ordinary methods.”

Sera Masumi suddenly lay down on the floor and carefully examined the bottom of the display case: "I found it! There's a keypad here!"

Everyone immediately gathered around. Heiji pushed his way to the front: "Where's the password hint? How are we supposed to guess without a hint?"

Hakuba Saguru calmly analyzed: "The code is definitely related to this Koshien detective event."

Shinichi's brain raced: "Think about the theme. Think about the clues from before."

However, they ran out of time.

From the window, Miwako Sato saw several figures wielding weapons approaching the villa.

She turned and shouted, "They're here, with guns, less than twenty meters away!"

Upon seeing this, the others exclaimed, "What? Guns? Damn it... We have no choice but to run!"

Another detective retorted, "Why run? Do you think we can outrun them? Guarding the villa and preventing them from getting in is our only way to survive!"

The other detectives retorted, "Defend my ass! This house is made of wood, how can it stop bullets?!"

"..."

Opinions differed, so they dispersed and began to act. Some hid inside the villa, some tried to escape and find somewhere to hide, while others hoped to use the villa's location to turn the tables on the eliminated contestants!

Shinichi wanted to figure out the password to the display case, but then gunshots rang out.

A bullet flew in from outside and hit the ground, instantly severing his train of thought.

He quickly reached out to pull Heiji away, shouting, "Go! There's no time left, if we don't run, we'll all die here!"

"Damn it!!" Heiji angrily entered a few random passwords, but when there was still no response, he had no choice but to give up. He then quickly followed Shinichi to find a place to hide.

Sera Masumi nimbly rolled out from under the display case and quickly joined Sato Miwako.

The other party was a police officer, very experienced in dealing with criminals, so she naturally chose to team up with him.

Sato Miwako understood Sera Masumi's meaning, and the two of them immediately chose a spot that served as a vantage point between each other to hide, making it easier to launch a sneak attack.

Before long, an eliminated contestant carrying a gun entered, shouting as he walked in, "Stop hiding, come out! I see you all!!"

He had barely finished speaking when he was punched by Sera Masumi, who rushed out, and then thrown to the ground by Sato Miwako with an over-the-shoulder throw, and quickly subdued.

Sera Masumi took the pistol, and Sato Miwako dragged the unfortunate man into the nearest room to begin interrogation.
