Chapter 268 My Wife is a Fairy
When Liu Jing returned, the fight was over.

The two sisters sat on the ground by the door, completely disregarding their appearance.

Sisi's ponytail was loose, her hair was disheveled, and her white sweater was covered with dark handprints.

Shu Chang's shirt was unbuttoned, and he was clutching his chest. He was covered in mud, had lost one shoe, and his face was filthy.

One looked like a madwoman, the other like a little beggar.

One was all smiles, like a gentle spring breeze; the other was utterly miserable and pitiful.

The two continued their casual conversation, one seemingly interested, the other reluctant.

This is the scene that Liu Jing saw when he came up the stairs.

He was only stunned for a moment before quickly taking out his phone and snapping a few photos of the two of them.

The sound of the camera shutter startled the two of them, who turned around and stood up.

"You shameless idiot, how dare you come here?" Sisi complained. "Sister, I came home today and you weren't here."

She had few complaints left; the anger that had been building up recently was largely cleared away by beating up Shu Chang just now.

"Wood, you're back." Shu Chang stood behind Qianqian, not making a fuss at all.

Liu Jing was surprised and couldn't help but glance at Shu Chang a few more times; she had been beaten up. However, her mental state had improved considerably, and her symptoms had lessened and were showing signs of improvement.

Shu Chang glared at Liu Jing, "What are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen someone get beaten before? You're so pathetic! The first wife is bullying the second wife, and you don't even try to help."

Liu Jing breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed the injection hadn't worked; his nerves were still so unreliable.

"This is what you are doing?"

Neither of them was wearing a coat, and although there was no cold wind at the door, it wasn't very warm either.

When Liu Jinggang arrived, the two huddled together to keep warm.

"I didn't bring my keys." Sisi looked dejected.

She originally intended to take Shu Chang downstairs, under the guise of practicing martial arts, to secretly teach the silly girl a lesson and vent her anger.

Little did they know that they would be ignited by Shu Chang's words as soon as they stepped out the door.

You all scramble to play with my toys and then show them off in front of me.

This is intolerable, so I could no longer tolerate it.

As they were fighting, a gust of wind blew by and the door slammed shut.

The two girls looked at each other, wondering why they were still fighting. They quickly called a truce, got up, and tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge.

"Call Sister Li." Liu Jing was speechless. If I don't come back, are you two going to freeze to death at the door?

"My phone is inside." Sisi was quite embarrassed, wondering what kind of mess she had made.

Liu Jing gave a thumbs up, "Amazing, you two are truly sisters in misfortune."

"Stop talking nonsense and open the door. I'm freezing to death." Sisi said impatiently. You two are the ones who are suffering. I'm not suffering at all.

"I didn't take the keys either," Liu Jing said, spreading his hands.

"Ah! Then you should call your godmother right away." Shu Chang was dumbfounded.

Sisi wasn't flustered at all. She stepped forward, took off Liu Jing's coat, and put it on herself. "I don't care, just open the door quickly, I'm freezing to death. Shu Chang is a lunatic, aren't you going to do anything about her?"

Liu Jing didn't have the key, but he knew how to unlock things, as Qianqian knew.

After going out for a walk, I found the right tools and quickly opened the door.

"Holy crap, that's impressive! You even know this trick. In the future..." Shu Chang's eyes lit up, as if she had just thought of something.

Sisi slapped her on the bottom and scolded, "Go inside right now."

"Oh." Shu Chang became obedient, lowering her head and following behind Qianqian meekly.

Although I don't live in the old house often, I still come back a few times every year.

Sisi's wardrobe wasn't empty; she found a set of clothes from two or three years ago and gave them to Shuchang to change into.

There's no way around it; the clothes I've worn in the last two years have just been way too big for Shu Chang.

Sisi is 1.7 meters tall, while Shuchang is only a little over 1.6 meters tall. They are both 20 years old this year, and their heights have already reached their final size.

Even two or three years ago, Xixi was much better than Shuchang is now.

However, Shu Chang's breasts are much larger than Xi Xi's, so they can fill them out without covering her buttocks.

While Shu Chang was changing clothes in the bedroom, Qianqian clenched her fists and said fiercely, "Let me beat you up, and we'll call it even."

"Why don't you beat me up a couple of times?" Liu Jing said shamelessly, actually bringing his face closer.

“I…” Sisi was stunned. There are still such despicable people.

Her expression changed, her eyes turning sinister. "Besides Shu Chang, who else have you been getting your hands on behind my back lately?"

"What nonsense are you talking about? I'm just depositing money for a meal in advance." Liu Jing's eyes were burning. He couldn't dodge at this moment, or he would definitely be exposed.

Through this incident involving Shu Chang, he has already reflected on his own actions.

Even if you're not a rabbit, you can't just eat the grass near your burrow. If you're going to steal food in the future, you'll definitely have to look outside, and you'll have to keep it outside, not in spring or autumn.

Chunqiu Film and Television is well-connected; if there's even the slightest disturbance, Qianqian will know about it faster than he does.

"Answer me honestly, who have you been sleeping with? Your answer will determine my attitude towards you from now on." Sisi sat on the sofa with a gloomy expression.

Liu Jing's heart tightened; this guy was serious.

He answered cautiously, "Gao Yuanyuan, Yang Mi, Fan Bingbing, Tang Yan, Shu Chang, Chen Dong, and the one you know."

Inside the bedroom, Shu Chang didn't change her clothes properly. The door was left ajar, and she pressed her ear to it, revealing that someone was listening in.

Liu Jing's words reached her ears clearly. She muttered to herself, "He actually got involved with Tang Yan. By the way, who is that?"
She was brainstorming, and one character after another appeared in her mind, her eyes filled with a forbidden light.

Her guesses became increasingly outrageous, so outrageous that they were banned from airing. She shuddered and quickly cut off the drama series.

Sisi was silent for a moment, then said, "You're quite honest; you haven't even formed a reinforced company yet."

Liu Jing muttered to himself, "How could I not be honest? You either know these people, or you're very familiar with them. It's easy for you to find out."

"Aren't you angry?"

"The dragon has nine sons, each different from the last, and they weren't all born from the same species. I want to be angry, but I just can't get over it." Sisi stretched, somewhat surprised and somewhat satisfied.

It wasn't that Liu Jing answered honestly, but rather that the amount was less than she had imagined.

In her view, with his abnormally strong physique, he would definitely run wild like a runaway horse.

She had previously guessed that the minimum would be double digits.

"The dragon has nine sons?" Liu Jing's expression was strange. This was something he hadn't expected. So, in Qianqian's heart, he wasn't even human.

"From now on, don't bring anyone home except Shu Chang. I don't want to see them hanging around in front of me." Qianqian sneered. Bullshit dragon. If I don't comfort myself like this, how am I supposed to live the rest of my life?

"Where's Tang Yan?" Liu Jing asked, forcing himself to speak, not daring to mention Yang Mi.

Because of Yang Mi's some questionable actions, the friendship between these two is now merely nominal.

Gao Yuanyuan and Liu Jing were having an affair on the set of "The Warlords". After Yang Mi found out, she stirred things up in front of Qianqian.

Besides this, Yang Mi knew that Jing Tian and Liu Jing had been engaged, and she often spoke on Jing Tian's behalf.

Sisi was indeed unhappy about this, but she was even more unhappy about those who sowed discord, and from then on, she never had another social gathering.

"From now on, I won't have any best friends anymore," Sisi said with a self-deprecating laugh.

What best friend? Bullshit best friend, her best friend became Liu Jing's hunting ground for women.

The saying "Beware of fire, theft, and your best friend" is absolutely true.

This is one of the important reasons why she was so annoyed.

Liu Jing chuckled twice, ignoring Zhang Liangying, otherwise Qianqian would have been even more frantic.

Zhang Liangying is also an oddball; she's the one with the most amazing acting skills. Apart from Yang Mi witnessing it herself, no one else noticed.

Every time I run into Liu Jing, I greet him confidently and openly. I try to convey to everyone, including Liu Jing, that we know each other, but we're not very close.

Sisi understands the principle of knowing when to stop. Correcting someone's views is not something that can be done overnight, nor is it something that can be done by her alone.

Her hair was obscuring her vision, so she tucked it behind her ear and paused there.

Liu Jing subconsciously picked up the hair tie on the table and tied her hair up. His movements were skillful, showing that he hadn't mastered it overnight.

Sisi sighed inwardly, realizing how powerful human habits were, so powerful that even she had to succumb to them.

"What should we do about Shuchang? Should we find a doctor?" Xixi suddenly asked.

The man next door, Liu Er, looked tense, panicked, and helpless, unaware that he had bitten his lip until it bled.

Doctor? Are you going to perform surgery on me? What kind of surgery? How can you be so cruel?
She was about to open the door and rush out when she heard Liu Jing reply, "Mental illness requires mental medicine. Ordinary doctors are useless. Find a psychologist to help you."

"Don't you consider yourself a teacher? She trusts you a lot, why don't you help her with that?" Sisi asked, puzzled.

"Sigh! It's my fault too. I'm so oblivious, I didn't notice it in time. It was only a few days ago when Yuanyuan reminded me that I realized something was wrong. I've been trying to comfort her these past two days, but I don't know where to start," Liu Jing sighed.

“I just found out myself. I’ve been in the US lately, so we haven’t been communicating much. The day she told me she was pregnant, I felt her mental state was very off, like she had schizophrenia, paranoia, or delusions of persecution. She used to have some epilepsy, but not insane. I went back to China the day before yesterday and didn’t come here immediately because I wanted to get more information. I did a lot of research and consulted doctors, and considering her condition, it seems like she really has a problem.” Xixi rubbed her temples. Shuchang was her first friend and also her god-sister, so she cared about her a lot.

Of all her close friends now, only Shu Chang isn't after her fame or her family background.

When they met, Shu Chang didn't know about her family background, even though she was more famous than Shu Chang.

"What's the status?" Liu Jing asked, puzzled.

“Gao Yuanyuan also contacted me. She’s been secretly observing Shu Chang. When Shu Chang is alone, she often spaces out. It’s not that her mind is completely blank, but rather she’s lost in thought. Sometimes, she’ll suddenly stand up and mutter to herself. She’ll walk around, then slump down on the ground and continue spacing out. Even when Changchang is helping in the kitchen, she can space out while holding soy sauce in her hand. When she goes out to buy things, she’s forgetful and forgets things easily. When she sleeps, she talks in her sleep and has nightmares…” Qianqian, lying on Liu Jing’s lap, was also somewhat lost in thought.

Liu Jing was puzzled. He hadn't slept that night, and Shu Chang had slept soundly until dawn without turning over. It seemed she must have caught up on sleep during the day, as he was filming on set at the time.

“This state is caused by a variety of reasons. She has a sensitive personality and is emotionally fragile. The three drops of blood incident was a blow to her. On top of that, there were all sorts of messy problems at home, and there were also issues related to you and me. She had a lot on her mind, and she took on a lot of roles to numb herself recently,” Liu Jing analyzed, rubbing Qianqian’s head. “Being busy can sometimes help you shift your focus, but acting doesn’t work. Every role is a life story, and the characters she plays only exacerbate the problem. If I hadn’t taken her that day, she might have been able to adjust after a period of rest.”

Sisi snorted and continued, "She feels even more pressured now that you two have gotten together, and she always feels sorry for me. Of course, that's true. She still has a conscience. Yang Mi and Tang Yan are also my best friends. They cheated on me, but they didn't feel any remorse. Especially Yang Mi, she actually thinks I'm superfluous."

"Tang Yan is a special case, not what you think." Liu Jing stammered, but under Qianqian's cold gaze, he honestly confessed, "Because of some misunderstandings, I was somewhat forced into it."

Liu Jing thought he was definitely going to get a scolding, but instead, the man chuckled, "Being raised by that person, being cheated on by Gao Yuanyuan, being forced by Yang Mi, and being pushed around by Shu Chang. Haha, you've finally become a man. I thought you were the passive type."

Sisi thought of herself. If it were anyone else, they would have taken advantage of her long ago. But this guy, on the other hand, treated her with the utmost respect, living like an old married couple ahead of time.

She wasn't really angry, which was good. At least she wouldn't be like a stray dog, spreading her seed everywhere.

"We were just talking about Shu Chang, why are you criticizing me?" Liu Jing said angrily, grabbing one of the A cups and kneading it hard a few times.

Sisi found a comfortable position and gestured for her younger brother to massage her. "Shuchang, isn't it obvious? A person with a conscience who does something wrong will find it hardest to get over it. She's making excuses to fool herself while simultaneously condemning herself morally. How can she not develop a mental breakdown over time? Look at Yang Mi, how strong her mental fortitude is, and how she still has the energy to stir up trouble and sow discord. Someone like Shuchang, without someone protecting her, won't get anywhere in the entertainment industry. Of course, I'm the same way; without you and Mom protecting me, I wouldn't be able to get by either. Someone like Yang Mi is best suited for this circle. She's good at handling things, knows how to leverage influence, and is a master at building relationships. She can say whatever she wants to people and quickly integrate into a circle. If she had someone backing her up, her future..."

Sisi's expression suddenly changed as she said this. "I'm warning you, if she dares to turn against me because you're backing her up, I'll really turn on her. If you dare to help her then, I'll turn on you too."

"No, Mimi, uh, Yang Mi knows what she's doing, she wouldn't dare target you." Liu Jing chuckled dryly.

He stroked her back, like petting a cat. The somewhat agitated fairy gradually softened her attitude.

"That would be best." Sisi didn't believe it at all.

Through recent events, she has finally seen through Yang Hanju completely.

When filming "The Return of the Condor Heroes", he adopted a very humble attitude, catered to her preferences, and quickly became her close friend with whom she could talk about anything.

At the time, I thought Yang Mi wanted to build her network, but later I gradually realized that building connections was one thing, and her younger brother was another.

after that……

"What about Changchang? She still has two films on the way, let's turn them both down. If she keeps filming..."

"You don't need to worry about this. I know what to do. Mental illness does require mental medicine. The problem lies with me, and I know how to treat it."

"Thanks a lot."

“What’s so hard about it? Even without your involvement, I wouldn’t have stood idly by.”

"She's feeling much better today. It seems Sister Li was right. Going home to relax is definitely good for her health."

"Pshaw! That's bullshit. As long as you're here and I'm here, she'll never be any better. I just beat her up, and I feel good now, and she feels good too."

"..." Liu Jing was speechless. You really have some tricks up your sleeve. You must have learned them from me.

"Don't worry! It won't break. It's a girl's business, don't worry about it so much," Sisi said with a smile.

"Having a beautiful wife is like having a treasure," Liu Jing exclaimed.

"You just know."

"Sisi, knowing you is the greatest blessing of my life."

"I think so too."

Shu Chang slumped to the ground, tears streaming silently down her face. She wasn't some unwanted nobody. It turned out that everyone around her cared about her in their own way.

“Sisi, you’re my sister, my sister for life. If anyone dares to hurt you in the future, I’ll be the first to object. Don’t even mention Yang Mi, not even Liu Jing.”

Shu Chang wiped away her tears, her expression resolute, and began to change her clothes.

In the living room, the siblings were still cuddling, but they hadn't forgotten about Shu Chang.

The tacit understanding between the two is unmatched. How long does it take to change clothes? The fact that Shu Chang hasn't left the house for so long definitely suggests something's wrong; she's likely eavesdropping.

Since we're eavesdropping, let's take this opportunity to say a few things.

"I heard from Gao Yuanyuan that you're thinking of writing a script about Nanjing? Do you have any ideas?" Qianqian felt the time was right and changed the subject. It was a bit too deliberate to keep talking about the same thing.

"Yes! There are four ideas in total: one from the perspective of a Chinese doctor, one from the perspective of an ordinary family, one from the perspective of a survivor, and one from the perspective of Iris Chang. We'll use them as entry points to show that period of history. I haven't decided yet. Let's finish all four scripts first, and then we'll see. After all, we need to consider everything, and whether it can be filmed is still a question."

“Ask your dad; he used to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so he must know about these things,” Sisi suggested.

"Get the notebook ready first. You can't start talking until you have something to say," Liu Jing shook his head.

"Yes! Tell me about it, I want to hear it."

"I plan to divide the script into three acts. The first act is called Autumn Cicada, the impending storm. The second act is called Winter Snow, the darkest hour. The third act is called Spring Thunder, inheritance and judgment..." Liu Jing explained in detail, each act containing several scenes, all of which were in his mind.

"Autumn cicadas, winter snow, spring thunder, why is there no summer?" Sisi wondered.

"Leave blank spaces for the future."

"Oh my god! Half an hour has passed, sing a song..." Sisi glanced at the time and looked shocked. She had been listening to the script for half an hour.

Liu Jing was also surprised. The two of them rushed to the bedroom, opened the door, and saw that Shu Chang was asleep on the bed.

"This is my bed..." Xixi was furious and stepped forward to wake Shuchang. How could she allow someone else to sleep soundly in her bed?

Liu Jing covered her mouth, pulled her out of the room, and gently closed the door. "It's good that she's asleep. If she's asleep and quiet, it means our methods worked. No one will bother us, so let's do something meaningful." "Did you kiss Shu Chang today?" Qianqian asked.

"No."

"It's a liar."

"Sigh! Silly girl said that when I go back to my parents' home, we can't sleep in the same room. She won't even let me touch her."

"Hahahahahaha..." Sisi laughed loudly, realizing that this wasn't just directed at me.

Liu Jing saw that Big White Teeth was stealing the spotlight, so he immediately blocked it, and the laughter stopped abruptly.

Lovers never hold grudges overnight; a quick fling can erase all enmity.

The power of Liu Jing's kiss was stronger than anything else; all communication was contained within it, and all tacit understanding surpassed a thousand words.

"Oh right! You said the day before yesterday that Ziyin can level up, does that mean I can become more powerful?" In her daze, Qianqian suddenly woke up.

She went back to her parents' home, so they couldn't sleep in the same room.

If Mom and Dad come back right now, wouldn't that be incredibly awkward?

[Host: Liu Jing]

[Level: Three (Upgrade requires 10 million points)]

[Bond: 9/9]

[Entertainment Atmosphere: 108.6 million]

【Number of draws: 0】

Liu Jing looked at the panel with a smug expression; his achievements this year were remarkable.

I spent one million to upgrade at the beginning of the year, and another one million came back at the end of the year.

Before the new year, he reclaimed the entertainment energy from several of his allies, breaking through one million points again.

Aside from Fan Xiaopang and Zeng Li, the other members of the group are just starting out. As their businesses flourish, Liu Jing's earning potential will increase even faster.

As soon as they had raised one million, Liu Jing told Qianqian that Ziyin could be upgraded.

During those years of filming, Sisi's health wasn't very good, so Liu Jing was waiting for Ziyin to be promoted.

"Watch me cast a spell..." Liu Jing put on airs, making mysterious and flashy hand gestures while silently issuing commands to the system.

Then... his joyful expression gradually froze.

The system told him that his bond with Anfeng did not meet the upgrade requirements.

He was also told that three conditions needed to be met for the first upgrade.

First, the favorability rating exceeds 90 points.

Second, the entertainment and cultural atmosphere is worth one million points.

Third, both parties are in a combined state.

"Damn system, are you really making me build a harem?" Liu Jing cursed inwardly.

When he builds a bond, he prioritizes the other person's potential, not necessarily getting them into bed.

Now, to make matters worse, a third point has emerged.

The system did respond; with each upgrade of the bond, the range of the bubble doubled, and the bond skill was also strengthened.

"What's wrong?" Sisi asked, puzzled.

"My wonderful method requires the right time, the right place, and the right people. Now the right time has arrived, but the right place is not quite right, and the right people have not yet arrived."

"What do you mean?"

"When you go back to your parents' home, you can't sleep in the same room as them."

"Pah! This is demonic magic, isn't it?"
-
No one asks the poor in the downtown area, and the rich has distant relatives in the mountains.

If you don't believe it, just look at the wine at the banquet; every cup is first offered to the rich and powerful.

Sister Li hasn't been back to her hometown for Chinese New Year for several years, and Liu Jing comes back even less often.

Ten years ago, the old An family was considered quite good in Jiangcheng, though not top-tier.

Ten years later, this name is not only found in Wuhan, but also across the entire country.

Sister Li owns two listed companies, Qianqian has become a shining star, and Liu Jing earns tens of millions for every movie he makes.

Of the family members, Teacher An is the most low-key, but he is also the one who is most fawned over.

We receive visitors every day, and not just in one group.

There are acquaintances and distant relatives who are not even remotely related to us.

There were old friends, as well as people from various local departments.

There are neighbors, as well as visitors from all over the country.

This was true before the New Year, and it's even more true after the New Year.

Sisi is very patient. She enjoys lively gatherings and visited many relatives during the Chinese New Year.

Liu Jing had long lost patience and retreated to his study to focus solely on writing the script.

The New Year has absolutely no meaning for him.

Because Sister Li settled her mobile phone factory in Jiangcheng, the local government, to express its gratitude, prepared a batch of tickets for the Hubei Provincial Spring Festival Gala.

He originally planned to go to the Hubei Provincial Spring Festival Gala as an audience member because Xixi had a song to sing, and he had to go and support her.

I got so engrossed in writing the script that I forgot about this.

His family didn't urge him; they left him alone at home and went off to be the audience.

Liu Jing was completely unaware of what was going on until these people returned.

Sister Li has her guests, Teacher An has her colleagues, and Qianqian has her friends. Liu Jing also has his own friends; even before New Year's Eve, he's already receiving all sorts of New Year's greetings via phone calls and text messages.

Unable to bear the disturbance any longer, Liu Jing simply turned off his phone and focused on his writing.

clap clap clap...

"Go in," Liu Jing responded instinctively.

Sisi pushed open the door and entered, holding a cup of hot tea, which she placed on the table. "You didn't sleep all night again?"

She frowned, feeling both heartache and resentment.

The coffee she brought over last night was still on the table, half a cup left. Liu Jing was sitting in the same position as before.

Books and documents were scattered everywhere, on the floor and the table. Sisi didn't dare tidy them up, afraid of disrupting the order and making it difficult for Liu Jing to find what he needed.

"Almost done, what time is it?" Liu Jing asked without looking up.

"Around seven o'clock, Mom asked me to call you for breakfast." Sisi put the coffee away.

"Oh, what about Shu Chang? How is she?" Liu Jing asked.

"Big brother, Shu Chang has been back in Beijing for three days." Xixi was speechless.

"Why did you go back? Weren't you supposed to spend the New Year here?" Liu Jing looked up blankly, somewhat puzzled.

"Today is the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, and the holiday has already passed for a few days. She went back to Beijing to visit relatives, all sorts of uncles and aunts. Don't worry, her spirits have improved a lot. In a few days, I'll take her to the hospital to get checked out. She's also regaining consciousness now and is planning to cancel all her acting roles, which is also a good time for her to focus on graduation matters." Qianqian was both amused and annoyed. Before leaving, Shu Chang made a point of saying goodbye to Liu Jing.

The two exchanged responses, seemingly Liu Jing's actions were purely instinctive. You said yours, I replied with mine, and I had no idea what you said or what I replied.

When Shu Chang's illness was mentioned, Liu Jing was completely pulled out of his script, rubbing his temples, "Qianqian, thank you for your hard work."

"As the saying goes, even a dog won't care if you say something nice three times. You've already said it..." Sisi pursed her lips, unable to continue.

Liu Jing looked up, and only then did she see his face clearly.

With an unshaven beard, a sallow complexion, and bloodshot eyes, fatigue is an understatement; he's clearly experiencing mental health issues.

She stared at the discarded scripts and scattered pictures on the floor. Her heart clenched; she couldn't bear it after just a glance. How could Liu Jing endure facing these things every day?

However, she was thinking too seriously. Liu Jing had witnessed even more cruel scenes firsthand during his experience as a spoiled brat.

Liu Jing rubbed his cheeks, picked up the tea, and drank it all in one gulp.

The tea was still hot, and just as Sisi was about to remind him, he had already finished drinking it.

Liu Jing's spirits lifted. "I'm almost done. Give me one more day."

This was only the second time she had ever seen Liu Jing so serious since she was a child.

The first time was when I was writing "Those Things About the Qin Dynasty". I was so engrossed in it that I forgot to eat and sleep, completely absorbed in my work.

"Come with me on a business trip." Sisi closed the script and pulled Liu Jing to her feet.

"A business trip on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year? Is it really necessary to go to such lengths?" Liu Jing was speechless.

"I need to go...go...where is Zeng Li's hometown again?" Qianqian wasn't actually going on a business trip; she was worried that Liu Jing would run into trouble if things continued like this, so she wanted to take him out to relax.

Liu Jing would definitely not want to go to his relatives' house.

She suddenly remembered something her aunt had mentioned yesterday: filming for "Red Cliff" would begin in April, which was less than two months away.

The production team sent Sun Shangxiang's script to Zeng Li's email address before the Lunar New Year, but there has been no response yet.

The staff made several calls, but Zeng Li either refused to answer or no one answered.

The production team was worried that there might be unexpected situations with Sun Shangxiang, such as her refusing to perform, taking the opportunity to raise her salary, or adjusting her schedule, so they quickly contacted Chunqiu.

When her aunt called, Zeng Li answered quickly. It turned out that Da Qingyi had entered "New Year's mode" and was refusing to answer any calls from unknown numbers.

As for email, there aren't even computers in her hometown, so what email would she need?

My aunt told Sister Li about this, considering it a bizarre incident.

Sisi used this incident as an excuse to trick Liu Jing into leaving the house.

"Jingzhou, what happened to her?" Liu Jing asked, looking somewhat anxious.

"Don't worry, she's not sick, she's doing just fine." Sisi said sourly, "That bastard really has a special relationship with Da Qingyi."

She claims to like listening to opera, but she clearly likes beautiful women who sing opera.

That bastard likes to listen to Peking Opera, but he never bothered to get to know Yu Kuizhi.

I enjoy listening to Henan Opera, but I've never seen anyone like Hai Lianchi.

"So what are you doing in Jingzhou on your business trip? What activities are you doing? Oh, it's the fifth day of the Lunar New Year." Liu Jing had already figured out the answer.

"Neither my assistant nor the driver is at work. I'll drive to Jingzhou by myself. Are you worried about that?" Qianqian didn't want to waste any more words. The more she talked, the less this guy wanted to go out.

Of course I'm worried; that's the most reliable statement I can make.

When I came out of the study, there were quite a few people sitting in the living room; it didn't look like early morning at all.

Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle An, Sister Li, and Auntie were all there.

Liu Jing did not live in the old house, but in the villa.

Sisi went back to reminisce for two days and then moved here. Then Lao An and Sister Li, and then Grandpa and Grandma, all came here for a family reunion.

"Liu Jing, I heard you're going to make a movie..." Grandpa stood up from the sofa, leaning on his cane.

"Dad, let's eat first, and we'll talk after we finish eating," Sister Li quickly said.

Grandpa tapped his cane. "Say it first, then I'll have an appetite to eat."

"Grandpa, please speak." Liu Jing helped the old man sit down, and then sat obediently beside him.

"Tell me first, how do you want to film this?" The old man sat very upright, his eyes bright and piercing as he stared at Liu Jing.

“I have four ideas…” Liu Jing explained his thoughts.

"Your line of thinking, Dr. Huaxia, can be discarded; you're making some assumptions," the old man said after a long silence.

"You should remove Zhang Chunru's entry too," Teacher An sighed.

"Why?" Liu Jing asked.

“This subject matter is too sensitive, and the authorities are taking a cautious approach, so it won’t be easy for it to pass the review. Some parts are historical interpretations from a Western perspective, which could spark international controversy. The other three scripts have a 30% chance of being approved, but this one has no chance at all,” Professor An explained.

"Why?" This is what Sisi asked.

“Some of us are also indignant. The time is not right. Many things are more complicated than you imagine.” Teacher An shook her head.

"Why didn't anyone protect her when she was threatened?" Sisi continued to ask.

“She is an American citizen of Chinese descent and has always lived in the United States; we have no jurisdiction over her,” Teacher An said indignantly.

"Xiaoli, the child wants to act in this kind of film, which is better than anything else. I think we should support it. You're a professional, can you do it?" the old man asked Sister Li.

“It’s difficult! Many directors want to make films on this subject, but there’s been no response yet.” Sister Li shook her head and then added, “There’s also Iris Chang’s family. They don’t want their child to be commercialized, as that would distort her image.”

My aunt also chimed in, "It's best not to film from her perspective. She's a history revealer and a tragic individual, which could easily spark ethical controversy and be seen as exploiting suffering."

“I have several old comrades-in-arms and former leaders whom I haven’t seen in a long time. It’s almost Chinese New Year, and every year that passes is one less year to go. I want to go see them; perhaps this will be the last time I see them. There are people who know that period of history better than I do; they were the ones who experienced it firsthand.” The old man’s eyes were filled with tears, and his voice choked with emotion. “Shaokang, Liu Jing, on the sixth day of the first lunar month, we will go to Beijing, and I will take you to pay your respects to the emperor.”

"I'll go too," the old lady said, holding the old man's hand.

"Your health isn't good, so don't do anything reckless," the old man said, forbidding it.

“There are some things I can say more easily than you can. You men are supposed to be reasonable, but I can be unreasonable with them.” The old lady laughed.

"Having lived to this age, I can still be unreasonable." The old man tapped his cane.

"Dad, when have you ever been reasonable?" Sister Li joked.

"Haha, let's eat!" the old man laughed.

"Grandpa, should I go?" Sisi helped the old man up, eager to try and broaden her horizons.

"Where are you going? This is a man's business, what are you, a girl, getting involved in?" the old man refused.

"You favor boys over girls, give me back my gift! People say grandparents love their grandchildren more, but you're just being a 'grandparent-disruptive' parent!" Sisi stretched out her little hand, wanting to get her gift back.

“You’re a granddaughter-in-law, not a granddaughter. We can’t really be close across generations. When you have a baby, then we’ll be the ones separated by generations.”

Goodbye! You can't help me up, go to the dining table yourself.
