Chapter 1099 Shurima

After leaving Piltover, Lan Hong and his companions arrived in Shurima.

The continent of Shurima once had a Shurima Empire, but now the entire empire is buried under the yellow sand.

Morgana knew a little about the history of the kingdom of Shurima.

However, after Azir ascended the throne, he did not abolish slavery. Instead, he made Xerath realize his status as a slave.

Xerath was naturally resentful, but he didn't show it and continued to help Azir silently, while secretly plotting to seize the power of Ascension.

He finally took action during Azir's ascension ceremony.

In the end, he succeeded and failed—he successfully seized the power of ascension, but he did not gain the approval of the Sun Disc, causing the Sun Disc to collapse and a massive explosion that destroyed the entire empire.

However, Xerath was still alive. He had somehow managed to survive and become a pure energy being, and having gained the power of ascension, he too had become incredibly powerful.

"Xerath was able to succeed because he transferred Nasus and Renekton, the two Ascended, away."

When Nasus and Renekton returned, they found that all of Shurima had been destroyed, so the two of them began fighting Xerath.

"So what was the final result?"

"My investigation revealed that Renekton and Xerath died together."

"You're investigating these things because you're also interested in the power of ascension, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am naturally very interested in the powerful force of ascension."

LeBlanc did not deny this.

Keisha then said, "Those powerful Ascended beings shouldn't have been destroyed, right?"

"If the Ascended of Shurima were to rise from beneath the sands, it would still be possible to rebuild the Shurima Empire."
