Chapter 502 The Two Golden Immortals Trapped in a Killing Calamity

Chapter 502 The Twelve Golden Immortals Trapped in a Killing Calamity
Zhen Yuanzi's successful breakthrough to the fifth level of the Great Luo realm is of extraordinary significance to both the Xuanmen sect and the Taiwei Heavenly Court.

For the entire Xuanmen sect, this means that another bright path leading directly to "Taiyi" among the eight immortal paths has been completely opened.

From this day forward, the Earth Immortal lineage will surely experience unprecedented development and growth, and the overall strength and foundation of the Xuanmen will also rise accordingly, becoming increasingly powerful.

For the Taiwei Heavenly Court, Zhen Yuanzi's attainment of enlightenment was like adding another dazzling gem to an already radiant crown.

To this day, eleven of the Thirteen Gods of Taiwei have successfully attained enlightenment and stand at the pinnacle of the primordial world.

One day, the two brothers, Emperor Jun and Taiyi, will return from the void.

At that time, the brilliance of Taiwei Enclosure will surely illuminate all the heavens throughout eternity.

Of course, there is currently a special existence among the Taiwei Gods who "explodes through a bug," and that is Yuanhuang.

Her and Yuanfeng's Dao attainments had already reached a state of perfection and flawlessness.

However, due to certain special plans, the final integration has not yet taken place.

Yuan Huang is waiting for the next opportunity to achieve the Great Dao.

She wanted to use this as a springboard to achieve "multiple proofs of the Great Way" in one fell swoop.

In this situation, Yuanhuang, although its final form is not yet finalized, appears somewhat special.

But she definitely possesses the strength of the fifth level of the Great Luo realm.

"Fellow Daoist Zhen Yuanzi, your choice to attain enlightenment at this time is truly perfect."

In the Purple Cloud Palace, which had long been submerged by endless chaotic purple energy, Xuan Qing, dressed in a black Taoist robe, wore a smile.

He raised his head and glanced into the deep, dark void.

There, a Heavenly Chain is currently radiating an unprecedentedly dazzling brilliance.

That is precisely the [Earth Virtue Heavenly Way] that belongs exclusively to Zhen Yuanzi.

This Heavenly Dao Divine Chain, which holds the power of "bearing" and "suppressing," almost instinctively launched an extremely forceful suppression against Hongjun Daoist the moment it received the epic enhancement brought about by Zhen Yuanzi's attainment of Dao.

Hongjun, who was already in a daze from the combined attack of the Three Pure Ones and was about to fall back into slumber, was suddenly struck hard by an extremely powerful "Earth Virtue Fist".

The last vestige of resistance that had just begun to rise vanished instantly, and it ceased struggling altogether.

The primordial order of the heavens returned to its timeless peace and harmony.

The Supreme Lord nodded slightly:
"Old Taoist Hongjun is still up to no good. He was suppressed this time, but who knows when he will try to cause trouble again next time."

"Hard to say."

Having just returned from presiding over the Fengshan ceremony in the mortal realm, Yu Chen Daojun, upon returning to Zixiao Palace, re-integrated his embodiment of "evil," the Tongtian Jiaozhu, back into his body.

This is a brand new Dao Fruit that he has condensed again, making it more perfect and flawless, based on Xuanqing's theory of "reversing the primordial chaos".

He stroked his smooth chin and said thoughtfully:

"Back then, the three of us brothers joined forces with the gods to help Hongjun achieve Dao. Although our fundamental purpose was to suppress him, it also helped him to some extent, giving Hongjun the possibility of advancing further."

"The appearance of the Heavenly Dao Essence is a good example. If it was able to escape, then Hongjun could naturally do the same."

Yu Chen Daojun's gaze deepened, and he continued his analysis:

“Furthermore, Fellow Daoist Zhen Yuanzi’s breakthrough to the Earth Immortal path is a good thing for our Xuanmen, but conversely, it is also a good thing for Hongjun.”

"This means that as long as he, the nominal 'ancestor of the immortal path,' is able to break free one day, there will be another mature and proven transcendental Dao fruit that he can plunder."

“I even seriously suspect that when the final three paths of becoming a deity, a true immortal, and a mysterious immortal are all successfully traversed, and our Xuanmen (mysterious sect) usheres in a historic moment of glory, that may be the best time for Hongjun to escape his predicament.”

Upon hearing this, Xuan Qing nodded in agreement and added:

"What my third brother said is correct."

“Referring to the example of the Heavenly Dao Essence, the more powerful beings who attain the Dao in my Xuanmen Immortal Path, the more perfect Dao Fruits will be born. Then, once Hongjun is freed, he will be able to extract more power from them.”

"but……"

Xuan Qing suddenly changed the subject, a calm smile appearing on his face: "We can't throw the baby out with the bathwater."

"We can't stop other fellow cultivators from attaining enlightenment and cut off everyone's path of cultivation just because we're afraid that Hongjun might break free in the future, can we?"

"Moreover, Hongjun's two main backup plans for reviving the world, namely the Heavenly Dao Essence and Haotian, are already under our control."

"This means that the initiative in this game has always been in our hands, not his."

"Whenever he tries to cause trouble, we'll put him back in the right place. That's all."

Although Xuan Qing's words were calm, they carried an undeniable and strong confidence stemming from his absolute strength.

After hearing this, Taishang and Yuchen exchanged a glance and both stroked their beards and laughed.

“What you say, elder brother, is exactly right.”

Back then, before Hongjun achieved Dao, he was completely dealt with by the three brothers.

Now that Hongjun has achieved Dao, how much trouble can he possibly cause, no matter how much trouble he stirs up?
The entire Xuanmen sect now shares the surname Xuanqing.

Even if this nominal "ancestor of the immortal path" could actually crawl out of the tomb of the Heavenly Dao, it wouldn't matter much.

When the time comes, I can just feed him some of the "Hun Yuan Pills" that I made myself.

world.

After the Fengshan ceremony at Mount Tai concluded, Shennong, having achieved his goal, retired to Huoyun Cave.

The eyes of the entire human realm, and even the entire prehistoric world, were focused on those two equally outstanding young leaders.

The final showdown between Xuanyuan and Chiyou, the two chosen ones recognized as the most qualified to inherit the throne of the Human Emperor, has officially begun.

Initially, this competition concerning the future of humanity maintained a relatively civilized and restrained state.

With his outstanding talent in internal governance, Xuanyuan continuously promoted new agricultural techniques and cultural etiquette, enabling the comprehensive strength and influence of the Youxiong Tribe Alliance to extend steadily and tenaciously in all directions, like vines in spring.

His prestige grew among the tribes that yearned for peace, order, and civilization.

This led to the name "Xuanyuan" gradually becoming synonymous with "benevolent and virtuous sage king".

Chi You, on the other hand, demonstrated his unparalleled military talent and personal charisma. He integrated the strength of the eighty-one tribes of Jiuli and built an invincible iron army.

He relentlessly waged war against those unruly and fierce tribes that frequently plundered others.

Chi You used war to end war, and with absolute power, he established a bloody order unique to the strong in the turbulent borderlands.

For the first few decades, the two were like two highly skilled chess players, engaging in a game of skill that ended with a single move.

They engaged in numerous competitions, vying for dominance by comparing the speed of their respective tribes' development, their cultural influence, and their appeal to neighboring tribes.

However, as time went on, the spheres of influence of the two sides inevitably came into contact and clashed.

Those tribes that had previously remained neutral must now make a final choice between these two future emperors.

When a fierce conflict broke out between a subordinate tribe under Xuanyuan's rule and a tribe under Chiyou's command, this conflict was like a spark thrown into a powder keg, instantly igniting the long-suppressed contradictions between the two sides.

Xuanyuan and Chiyou, these two friends and rivals who once admired each other, inevitably ended up fighting each other.

In the early stages of the war, both sides exercised considerable restraint.

Xuanyuan dispatched his general Li Mu to lead the Youxiong army, which was mainly composed of chariots. Their army was well-organized and advanced in a measured manner, like a mobile fortress.

Chi You personally led his eighty-one brothers and the fearless Jiuli warriors, who wielded sharp spears and giant axes. Their fighting style was brave and wild, like a devastating torrent.

Two vastly different armies engaged in several large-scale battles on the expansive plains.

In an instant, the sound of war drums shook the heavens and the shouts of battle echoed through the sky.

Both sides had their share of wins and losses, and neither could gain a decisive advantage in a short period of time.

However, as the war escalated, and the divine forces behind them, which had already quietly placed their bets, began to get more and more involved.

The balance of the war began to swing violently, and the situation became increasingly intense.

An invisible yet real "calamity aura" began to spread across the battlefield.

This calamity aura, formed from resentment, malevolence, and killing intent, initially appeared as a thin mist enveloping the battleground.

But as the war continued and escalated, it grew increasingly intense, eventually transforming into dark, ink-like clouds that began to slowly envelop the entire human world.

"Good, good! They're here, they've finally arrived!"

"This familiar smell... it really is a catastrophe that will sweep across the world!"

The moment that immeasurable calamity aura rose, countless powerful beings in the primordial world sensed it.

Far from feeling any worry, they were even more excited!
Yes, just excitement.

For these ancient beings who have long since transcended life and death and are solely focused on pursuing the Great Dao, a great calamity often corresponds to an opportunity for the Great Dao.

The great calamity contains endless dangers, but it also hides endless opportunities.

Therefore, instead of showing any intention of stopping, more and more cultivators who had reached the third and fourth levels of the Great Luo realm began to get restless and personally joined the fray.

The Western Sect's Taoist master, Zhunti, subtly enlightened one of Chi You's fierce generals through the method of attaining enlightenment in a dream, enabling him to comprehend the supernatural power of the sixteen-foot golden body and shine brightly on the battlefield.

"Killing is for the sake of protecting life; cutting off karma is not the same as killing a person!"

"Master, I've understood!"

Ksitigarbha, having awakened his innate wisdom, wielded a precept knife and charged left and right across the battlefield with extraordinary bravery.

In the Demon Master's Palace in the North Sea, Kunpeng sent out a Great Sage of the Demon Clan.

This demon saint, carrying a wisp of the Demon-Summoning Banner, secretly assisted Xuanyuan, summoning countless birds and beasts to form a unique beast army to fight against Chiyou's beast army.

"Fellow Daoist Shangyang, why have you switched to cultivating the Dao of Laws?" A deity recognized the identity of the Demon Saint.

Upon hearing this, Shang Yang shouted, "What Shang Yang? I am Gongsun Yang of the Youxiong tribe." Holding the Divine Sword of Law, he summoned terrifying heavenly punishment, sealing off the surrounding void to prevent the other party from escaping.

While resisting the divine punishment, the deity taunted, "So, you're a member of Chief Xuanyuan's clan?"

"Indeed!" Shang Yang nodded calmly.

Ji Xuanyuan was also known as Gongsun Xuanyuan.

I, Gongsun Yang, am a member of Gongsun Xuanyuan's clan. Isn't that reasonable?

"Fellow Daoist, why waste words with him?"

"Whether he's Gongsun Yang or Shang Yang, just send him on his way!"

At that moment, a streak of fire descended from the sky, like a meteor falling to earth, terrifying beyond compare.

"Pegasus Meteor Fist!"

As the punch was about to land, the boundless malevolent aura made Shang Yang frown.

He hurriedly threw out a scroll of laws, and countless legal provisions, like a golden waterfall, blocked Shang Yang's path.

"Who are you, fellow Daoist?" Shang Yang felt that the other party looked somewhat familiar.

The young Taoist priest generously revealed:
"I am Tianlu Xingjun!"

"Fellow Daoist Shang Yang, we are both among the evil spirits of the stars, so we can be considered old friends."

Shang Yang corrected: "I already said I am Gongsun Yang!"

Tianlu Xingjun laughed heartily: "Alright, Gongsun Yang, take this—the Five Horses Dismemberment Technique!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a dazzling light shone in the void.

Five celestial horses galloped out, each carrying a divine general, who held a demon-binding rope in his hand.

The five divine generals shouted:
"middle!"

Five demon-binding ropes flew out.

Shang Yang felt his limbs tighten, and in an instant he was suspended horizontally in mid-air.

He knew things were going badly.

"Tianlu, why did you switch from growing radishes to raising horses?"

"I am now a human. Even if you take out the Demon-Binding Rope, I can still escape!"

Shang Yang directly brandished the Law Sword.

The Holy One watched in disbelief as Shang Yang severed his own limbs and head, leaving only his body to escape.

"kill!"

In the blink of an eye, the Shang Yang, now with five limbs, returned wielding the Law Sword and charging back into battle.

He fought against two old friends, risking his life without hesitation.

Throughout the entire battlefield, all the immortals and gods were in the same situation.

They did this for no other reason than for the sake of the word "Great Way".

Since the Zixiao Palace Assembly ended, all the gods have understood the direction of the Great Dao.

They summarized a path to enlightenment.

Not crazy, not live.

No one can achieve enlightenment without courting death!
Especially not long ago, after witnessing firsthand how Zhen Yuanzi, the ancestor of earth immortals, broke through to the fifth realm of the Great Luo and attained transcendence by seizing the opportunity of human merit.

The desire of everyone to attain enlightenment became increasingly fervent and intense.

In the East Sea, Yinglong, one of the four progenitors of the dragon race, looked down upon the human realm.

She also considered taking over the game.

"I have a premonition that my opportunity to attain enlightenment lies in this great calamity!"

Upon hearing this, the First Emperor laughed loudly and said, "Then go ahead and give it your all!"

Qinglong also expressed his support: "Third Sister, the Dragon Gate Project is about to succeed. Leave a mark in the Dragon Gate."

"In that case, our entire dragon race will become your strongest guiding light in your fight against the void and your successful return!"

"it is good!"

Yinglong handed a jade tablet of origin to Qinglong, and then went to the battlefield to join the Xuanyuan camp.

Kunlun Mountain, Yuxu Palace.

After Xuanyuan sent a request for help to his master Guangchengzi.

The Twelve Golden Immortals gathered together.

They gazed upon the earthly land, now shrouded in endless calamity and filled with earth-shattering battle cries.

Chi Jingzi stroked the Yin-Yang Mirror in his hand and laughed loudly:

"The great calamity has begun, and it is the perfect time for us cultivators to respond to the calamity and hone our Dao fruits!"

Huanglong Zhenren even directly transformed into his true dragon form, letting out a deafening dragon roar:
"Ancestor Styx said, 'Without undergoing the Tribulation of Slaughter, one cannot attain the Path of Slaughter!'"

"Although we do not follow the path of killing, the principles of Taiyi and the way of ghosts and gods are connected to this, both of which are about living towards death."

"Now, we can also take advantage of this calamity to align ourselves with the destiny of the Dao!"

Finally, the twelve Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect left Kunlun Mountain in a grand procession.

Meanwhile, in the Jiuli camp, Chi You also received his most powerful reinforcements.

The Wind God and the Rain Master, two great shamans who had been famous since the ancient era of witches and demons, officially announced their joining the Nine Li tribe with a group of elite witch warriors.

Thus, this war, which was originally just a struggle for the throne of the human emperor, has completely spiraled out of control.

It evolved into a cataclysmic event that swept across the world, involving top-tier forces such as humans, gods, demons, and witches.

The final battleground for this great calamity was set in the wilderness of Zhuolu.

An ultimate battle that would determine the future of humanity and even the entire primordial world erupted in the wilderness of Zhuolu.

On that day, the entire sky was dyed dark red.

Endless clouds of calamity pressed down on the earth as heavy as lead, accompanied by lightning and thunder, and howling winds.

Xuanyuan was clad in golden armor and held a sacred sword forged from the copper of Shou Mountain, engraved with the sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, grasses, and trees.

The twelve Golden Immortals, led by Guang Chengzi, stood beside Xuanyuan.

Behind him stood the Youxiong army, its banners fluttering and its military might impressive.

Chi You rode a beast that ate iron, and wielded a demonic blade called "Tiger Soul".

On the blade, vengeful spirits linger, and malevolent energy soars to the heavens.

His eighty-one brothers stood guard by his side, with the Jiuli army, full of fighting spirit, behind them.

"Chi You, you have acted against the natural order and used force to disrupt the world. Today, I will punish you on behalf of Heaven and restore a bright and peaceful world for humanity!"

Xuanyuan's voice, like the majestic power of heaven, echoed across the battlefield.

"Xuanyuan, you are hypocritical and cowardly, using etiquette and law to bind the blood of your people. Today I will shatter your ridiculous shackles and lead humanity into the next glorious era!"

Chi You's response was full of domineering arrogance, his demonic voice booming and shaking the soul.

On the surface, that's what the two of them call each other.

Privately, Xuanyuan transmitted his voice: "Da Niu, I've invited many masters from my sect to help me this time. Don't rush too far ahead, or you might get captured."

Chi You was overjoyed.

He transmitted his voice, "Little Yuan, you're quite confident, aren't you?"

"Unless you bring down the Primordial Celestial Venerable, who in the Chan Sect can capture me?"

Xuanyuan said, "Don't be careless. Our sect is actually a bit mysterious, and it's a little different from what's said outside."

He stopped short of making a point.

"Okay, I see."

Chi You also offered a reminder.

"You be careful too, the Heavenly God and Demon Formation here is real."

As the weapons in their hands fell simultaneously, two torrents powerful enough to destroy the heavens and the earth collided violently.

In an instant, the wilderness of Zhuolu transformed into the most brutal battlefield.

Immortal magic and sorcery fly together, divine light and demonic energy dance together.

This is a war without right or wrong.

All the participants are fighting for the great path they believe in.
