Chapter 498 Shennong's Wrath

Chapter 498 Shennong's Wrath

Shennong's virtue is like the warm sunshine, selflessly illuminating every inch of the earth.

He never relied on force or coercion to govern the country, but rather adopted gentle and persuasive methods.

This benevolent sovereign, dressed in linen, placed great importance on cultivating the talents and examining the character of the leaders of all human races.

After careful consideration, he established a special assessment system—monthly evaluations and year-end tributes.

Every month, Chen Du would dispatch professional priests and officials to various tribes, divine kingdoms, and worlds to conduct detailed and impartial assessments of their governance.

At the end of each year, the leaders of each tribe would personally go to Chendu to present the most abundant produce and tribute of the year to the sovereign, and report their achievements and mistakes in person.

The establishment of this system undoubtedly represents a solid step forward for all nations in their path of unity and development.

However, as the wheels of history roll ever onward, there are always some untimely and stubborn rocks that try to stop the chariot with their bare hands.

While most people are striving to keep up with the times, some are thinking of turning back the clock of history.

For example—the Su Sha clan.

The leader of this small, remote tribe seems to have a thought process that is different from that of ordinary people.

Perhaps he was afraid of being severely punished by the God of Agriculture when he offered tribute at the end of the year because he had repeatedly failed the monthly assessments.

Or perhaps he is simply hopelessly stupid.

In short, he did something so significant that it shocked the entire human race and even the human realm.

He rebelled!
Su Sha killed the examiner sent by Chen Du and then openly launched a rebellion!
When this news reached Chendu.

Shennong, who was carefully tending to a newly discovered herb in his medicinal garden, was completely dumbfounded.

He was in disbelief.

He was about to achieve his goal and retire from public life to hold the Fengshan ceremony at Mount Tai.

At this critical juncture, a rebellion broke out in the human realm?
"Was it my promotion of the five grains that made those Su Sha clan members so full that they had nothing better to do?"

Shennong frowned deeply, sinking into profound self-doubt.

He thought about it for a long time, but still couldn't figure out why Su Sha Shi wanted to rebel.

"Co-owner!"

A series of hurried footsteps interrupted his thoughts.

A young Taoist priest, dressed in a crimson robe, with a robust build, square face, and a calm, mountain-like aura, strode over.

"Co-owner."

Daoist Duobao bowed respectfully to Shennong, his stern face now bearing an undisguised solemnity.

"You know about what happened at Su Sha, right?"

His hand unconsciously tightened around the hilt of the sword at his waist, a sharp, cold glint flashing in his eyes.

"Should we immediately dispatch the royal army from Chendu to quell the rebellion?"

Daoist Duobao seemed unusually concerned about this matter.

Because recently, thanks to his efforts, the Jie Sect has finally managed to establish a good foundation in human society.

The missionary work of the Jiejiao sect was about to succeed.

A minor rebellion in Susa was nothing to worry about for him.

But what he's really worried about is whether there are other unseen forces behind this that are causing trouble in the dark!

Shennong shook his head upon hearing this.

He bent down again and gently loosened the soil around the herb with his small hoe.

"No need to worry."

His voice remained as calm as ever.

"A mere sandbar is unlikely to amount to anything."

He casually gave instructions while tending to the medicinal herbs.

"Pass down my order: have the four surrounding tribes of Su Sha take him down."

Shennong was somewhat angered by this sudden rebellion.

But more than anything, I found it somewhat amusing.

Just like in a vast forest, there will always be a few trees that grow crooked.

Every race inevitably produces some beings that are difficult to understand.

With trillions of people, the human race is so large that the emergence of a fool like Su Sha is not a big deal.

After he finished speaking, he waved his hand, indicating that Duobao didn't need to worry about it.

The supreme ruler of the human race has already spoken.

Even though Duobao still had doubts, he could only bow and accept the order.

"Yes, Lord."

He responded respectfully, then turned and left.

He instructed his disciples to keep a close eye on the movements of the Su Sha clan, while he went on to attend to other matters.

As Shennong had predicted, things unfolded exactly as he had envisioned.

That foolish leader of Su Sha, along with his few loyal followers, clamored to rebel against Chen Du's orders.

However, as soon as Shennong issued the order, the tribes surrounding the Susha clan immediately sprang into action.

The leaders held a mobilization meeting.

"Brothers and sisters, we have been grateful for the kindness of Shennong, the supreme ruler, for generations."

"It was Shennong, the supreme ruler, who taught us how to cultivate the five grains, so that everyone could eat while cultivating immortality."

"It was Shennong, the supreme ruler, who taught us the way of medicine, so that we could cultivate immortality without fear of injury or illness."

"Now, the foolish leader of the Susha clan is actually going to betray such a great sovereign."

"He wants to destroy the achievements of human development, so that we can't eat or enjoy cultivating immortality."

"Do you think this is something we can tolerate?"

The allied forces of all tribes roared in unison: "No!"

The leaders cried out, "Then join us and kill the Susa clan!"

"Kill Susa!"

The allied forces launched a massive attack on the Susha clan.

This rebel, arguably the most idiotic in human history, was killed on the spot by the enraged coalition forces.

A rebellion that seemed to have great momentum came to an end so quickly.

Whether it was Shennong, Duobao Daoren, or other high-ranking members of other races in the human realm.

No one took this small matter too seriously.

Just consider it a harmless and comical interlude that occurred during the process of humanity's development and growth.

but.

When news of the rebellion came again.

Shennong finally realized that something seemed amiss.

The northern border of the human race.

A powerful tribe called "Fu Sui" inexplicably rebelled under the leadership of their chief.

Unlike the minor skirmishes of the Su Sha clan.

The Fu Sui clan was a powerful tribe among humans, renowned for its ability to conquer and fight.

They live in the cold north, constantly battling the harsh environment and ferocious beasts. They are known for their fierce nature and extraordinary fighting prowess.

This time, their rebellion was even more explicit, clearly expressing their opposition to the rule of Shennong!

This news was like a boulder crashing into the calm surface of humanity's destiny.

Above Chendu.

The golden dragon, formed from the boundless fortune of humanity, let out a roar.

"Pangu's axe!"

This time, Shennong was truly enraged.

"You all want to be planted in the ground, don't you?"

His eyes, which were always full of love and gentleness, were now burning with a raging fire.

A terrifying pressure suddenly erupted from his body.

The gentle, peaceful aura that had surrounded him, like the warmth of the earth and the grains, was instantly replaced by a scorching heat and fury capable of burning everything.

If a fool appears, Shennong can treat it as a coincidence and not hold it against him.

Now, a second idiot has appeared.

Do you really think that I, the sovereign who rules the human world with the virtue of fire, have no temper at all?

"Four Fire Priest!"

Shennong's roar, filled with boundless majesty, echoed throughout the entire capital of Chen like rolling thunder.

"Follow me on my northern expedition!"

He personally led the army to conquer Fu Sui.

At his command, the armies of all races assembled, and the war drums beat.

"He has to cause trouble when he has a good day. This Axe Sui is really crazy!" In the midst of the army, Zhao Gongming, the eldest disciple of the outer sect of the Jie Sect, held two whips and sat astride a black tiger, looking majestic.

Beside him was a magnificent dragon god.

The Dragon God stood on the clouds and said with a smile, "Fellow Daoist, you may not have experienced the Primordial Era and do not know what our prehistoric world was like before."

"In the ancient times, all paths vied for supremacy, and there were far too many gods like this who only engaged in destruction."

"The most famous of them is Shen Ni of the Beast Clan."

"Yes, Brother Ao Ling is right."

Representatives from all races around them echoed:
"If it weren't for the Holy Heavenly Emperor leading the Taiwei Gods to sweep away their enemies, unify the universe, spread his teachings throughout the world, and determine the development path of the primordial world."

"How could the primordial world be so harmonious? How could a golden age of human development have emerged?"

Everyone agreed: "It is because the world has been at peace for so long that the creatures born in the golden age have never seen real danger, which is why they do not cherish the peaceful times we have now."

"Furthermore, if the human race wants to become the leader of the great human world, it will definitely have to go through a painful period before it can truly secure its position in the world."

"The current chaos of Su Sha and the disaster of Fu Sui are just minor disturbances; the real calamity is still far away."

Many innate races have survived to this day and have seen countless trials and tribulations.

The current turmoil among humans is really no big deal to them.

In the past, when the ferocious beast race wanted to conquer the world, they faced attacks from all other races.

The three primordial races, though aiming to unify the prehistoric world, were also hindered by each other.

Even when the second Heavenly Emperor sought to unify all races, it triggered the Great Calamity of the Lich King.

The human race has produced two generations of overlords, showing a strong tendency to become the leader of the great human world.

Only now are things starting to go wrong.

For many saints, this is perfectly normal. "If you want to eat more, you always have to pay a price."

"How can we steer the great ship of humanity forward without experiencing storms?"

"When the immeasurable calamity engulfs the Three Realms, that will be the true catastrophe!"

The representatives of all ethnic groups are perfectly clear-headed.

Upon hearing this, Zhao Gongming seemed to be deep in thought.

No wonder the senior brother told him to have more contact with the innate races before the expedition.

These old guys are really wise.

~~~
The mighty army of all races set off, heading north with unstoppable momentum.
Finally, on a vast plain in the north, they encountered the rebellious army of the Axe-Sui.
Shennong gave the other party no chance to make any excuses.
He swung the ochre whip in his hand forward with a sudden motion.
"kill!"
In an instant, the army surged forward, their battle cries shaking the heavens.
In a single encounter, the army of the Fu Sui clan was completely crushed.
They were routed, their army collapsing like a house of cards.
Right in the middle of this desolate battlefield.
A massive, mountain-like figure slowly struggled to his feet from the mountain of corpses.
He was covered in blood, and the armor he wore, made from the hide of a giant beast, was riddled with holes.
He gripped a massive black battle axe tightly in his hand, its blade riddled with jagged slits.
This person was none other than Sui, the leader of the Fu Sui clan.
His eyes were bloodshot, like a demon crawling out of hell, staring intently at the chariot that was suspended in mid-air.
"Shennong!"
He let out a hoarse roar like a wild beast, his voice filled with endless resentment and madness.
"I, Fu Sui, refuse to submit!"
On the chariot, Shennong, clad in a crimson-gold imperial robe, had a somber expression.
His once gentle eyes were now burning with a fury powerful enough to incinerate the heavens.
He didn't waste any unnecessary words with the leader of the rebellion.
He stepped out of the chariot.
That step felt as if it were on the very pulse of the entire world.
In an instant, the wind stopped and the clouds settled.
An indescribable, overwhelming pressure, like countless ancient divine mountains, descended with a deafening roar.
The entire northern plains sank sharply as a result.
All the rebels kneeling on the ground were pressed firmly to the ground by this terrifying aura, unable to move even a finger.
Shennong looked at the Axe Sui leader, who was still stubbornly resisting, with no pity in his eyes, only a cold indifference.
"I, Shennong, in the name of the sovereign of humankind, hereby grant you death!"
His voice was calm yet majestic, like the grand pronouncements of the Dao, resonating deep within the souls of everyone present.
"The farmer's three punches."
The moment the words fell.
Shennong's figure has disappeared.
[Suddenly] he felt a blur before his eyes, and an unprecedented sense of terrifying crisis, enough to shake his soul, exploded wildly from the bottom of his heart.
Without a second thought, he poured all his strength into the giant axe in his hand, let out a deafening roar, and swung it forward with all his might!
"open!"
At that very moment, an ordinary-looking fist, even bearing some calluses, lightly imprinted itself on the surface of his axe, a weapon powerful enough to split mountains and shatter rocks.
The first punch.
Open up wasteland!
In an instant, a terrifying power of extreme brutality erupted from Shennongding's fist.
That power was not simply magical power, but the purest and most fundamental power of the earth, and the supreme will of humanity to pass on the torch and build their homeland!
"clang--!!!"
A piercing, mournful cry, powerful enough to tear metal apart, echoed through the heavens.
[Sui] The giant axe in his hand shattered like fragile glass from the point of contact with his fist!
Immediately afterwards, that irresistible and terrifying force slammed into his chest without any hindrance.
"puff--!"
[Sui]'s body flew backward like a kite with a broken string.
Large mouthfuls of blood, mixed with shattered internal organs, gushed from his mouth.
However, this is just the beginning.
Just as his body was still flying backwards in mid-air.
Shennong had already appeared silently behind him.
The second punch.
sowing!
This punch was not as fierce and domineering as the first one.
It looks gentle and slow, as if an old farmer is in the field, gently pressing a seed into the soil.
However, when this fist, burning with the emerald green flame of life and the dark yellow light of merit, gently pressed against Suihou's heart.
Then, his face, contorted with pain, was instantly filled with endless fear and horror.
He felt a strange power, full of supreme vitality yet carrying an irresistible suppressive law, frantically burrowing into his body like a maggot clinging to his bone.
That power quickly took root and sprouted throughout his body.
It was frantically draining all the power from his body, sealing off all his meridians, and imprisoning his soul!
He felt as if he were turning into a tree, a blade of grass.
His feet were uncontrollably sending countless roots extending into the earth below.
“No… No—!!!”
He let out the most piercing and desperate scream of his life.
But what awaited him was Shennong's cold and merciless third punch.
Shennong looked down from his high position with an indifferent expression.
The third punch.
Root!
This punch gathered the immense power of the entire northern land.
It's like the final, firm stomp of a farmer after planting a sapling.
Simple and direct, yet it contains the supreme wisdom of "the dust has settled"!
"boom--!!!"
The fist slammed heavily onto Sui's crown.
The entire earth trembled violently as a result.
The ground did not crack as a result.
Instead, it seemed to become incredibly soft and docile.
Under the horrified gazes of all the rebels.
Their incomparably powerful and invincible leader was thus planted in the ground by Shennong, the sovereign of the land, punch after punch!
[Sui]'s body sank into the solid frozen soil without any hindrance.
First the feet, then the waist and abdomen, then the chest...
In the end, only a head filled with terror and confusion remained, standing alone on the ground.
Immediately afterwards, the soil around him solidified and hardened rapidly at a speed visible to the naked eye, becoming more unbreakable than the hardest rock.
He was completely integrated with this northern land.
Shennong slowly withdrew his fist, which hovered quietly above the head.
He lowered his head, looking down at the rebel with an extremely cold gaze.
"They eat the grains of the earth and enjoy the benefits of human kindness."
His voice was devoid of any emotion.
"Yet they have committed acts of betrayal, shaking the very foundation of humanity."
"Today, I will make sure that you and this land you have betrayed will never be separated."
"Repent for the sins you have committed in every lifetime."
Having said that, Shennong never looked at the head that had completely lost its luster again.
He slowly turned around, his crimson-gold imperial robe billowing in the cold wind with a chilling arc.
Shennong's gaze was deep and solemn as he looked toward a more distant direction.
The entire battlefield was completely silent.
He stood quietly on the battlefield, which was still filled with the smell of burnt blood.
The cold wind of the north blew his crimson-gold imperial robes, making them flutter loudly.
The joy of victory was long gone from his face, replaced by an unprecedented solemnity and contemplation.
"My lord, shall we return to our camp now?" Zhao Gongming stepped forward and asked.
"No!"
Shennong shook his head.
"I want to see the whole world for myself and tour this land!"
"Anyone who dares to cause trouble will be killed on the spot!"
Having said that, Shennong returned to his chariot.
The army of all races sets off once again.
They followed Shennong, surveyed the primordial world, monitored all realms, and traversed all the spheres of influence of humanity.
Wherever Shennong went, all tribes were at peace, all living beings were happy, and there was no strife.
It was precisely because of Shennong's decisiveness.
The turmoil that had been brewing within humanity and even within the human race finally subsided.
