This is so dishonest!

Chapter 385 Emperor Jun's Cabinet, Gods Ascend Zixiao Palace Again [6k]

Chapter 385 Emperor Jun's Cabinet, Gods Ascend Zixiao Palace Again [6k]

Will the Sun Venerable become the next Heavenly Emperor?
In terms of seniority, the Supreme Lord of the Sun is one of the elders of the Taiwei Enclosure.
In terms of strength, he is a great supernatural being in the third realm of the Great Luo.

Furthermore, this was a decision made by Xuanqing, the Taiwei Elders, and the Permanent Council of the Heavenly Dao.

From these perspectives, it seems logical that the Sun Venerable would succeed as the Heavenly Emperor.

However, other thoughts inevitably arose in the minds of the gods—could the Supreme Sun God do it?

The primordial world, under the rule of the current Heavenly Emperor, has long been accustomed to a gentle, inclusive, and subtle style of governance.

If a Heavenly Emperor with a completely different style were appointed, could the prehistoric world still maintain its current harmony and prosperity?

The gods couldn't help but wonder what was going on.

Some more profound deities pondered even deeper questions.

Xuanqing, as the Heavenly Emperor, possesses absolute power to suppress all forces and provides support and balance to various factions, resulting in a flourishing and diverse landscape in the prehistoric world.

While the Sun Supreme is considered top-tier, he is not particularly outstanding.

Can he withstand the pressure?
The atmosphere inside the Heavenly Emperor's Palace suddenly became even more subtle.

Some supporters believe that the Sun God, with his great talent and strategic vision, will surely lead the prehistoric world to new glory.

Some are worried that the other side is not strong enough to control the gods, which could lead to new conflicts.

There are also neutral parties who remain silent, observing the situation and waiting for further developments.

As the central figure in the incident, Emperor Jun, the Supreme Lord of the Sun, remained calm.

He wasn't as overjoyed as one might expect, nor was he worried about whether he could handle the job.

The succession to the next Heavenly Emperor was something that had been agreed upon long ago.

The Holy Emperor is still in power.

Xuanqing's term of office has another ten thousand years.

All he needs to do in the coming days is to smoothly hand over power.

"Fellow Daoist's composure is quite remarkable." On the imperial throne, Xuan Qing smiled and transmitted his voice.

Di Jun replied calmly: "It's not like it's my first time being the Heavenly Emperor; I'm used to it."

[It's simply that before, the Heavenly Emperor could only govern the gods of Taiwei Yuan, but now he can govern the Three Realms of the Primordial World and all the myriad realms.]

His "The Heavenly Emperor's Reincarnation Scripture" is nearing the completion of its version iteration and will soon undergo another round of revisions.

What are you panicking about?
Besides, in order to smoothly succeed to the throne, he has united a group of fellow Daoists and prepared a lot of things over the past Yuanhui.

When the coalition government is established, he won't believe he's really incapable!
Seeing that Di Jun was so calm, Xuan Qing nodded slightly.

He then looked across the entire Heavenly Emperor's Palace, taking in the reactions of all the gods, and understood the situation.

He spoke slowly, giving his final endorsement of Di Jun's ascension to the throne.

"The talents of the Supreme Sun God are witnessed by all the gods of the primordial world."

"As for his character and future governing strategy, I believe he knows what he's doing."

"Moreover, the position of the Heavenly Emperor is not immutable."

"The system of the Taiwei Heavenly Court has long been clearly defined, and the Heavenly Emperor is also subject to the supervision of the Heavenly Dao and all living beings."

"If it goes against the way of Heaven and fails the lives of all living beings, there will be a mechanism to correct it."

These words were both an affirmation of the Supreme Sun and a reassurance to the gods.

At the same time, it also subtly points out the dynamic balance between the Taiwei Heavenly Emperor and the wise men of the primordial world.

"We understand!" The gods bowed in unison and then congratulated Di Jun.

Xuanqing continued, "My abdication after ten thousand years is not a spur-of-the-moment decision. It is the will of all the elders of Taiwei and the decision of the Heavenly Dao Council."

"After abdicating, I will continue to explore the true meaning of the Great Dao and cultivate the path of the Great Luo."

"Perhaps I will go into seclusion for a long time, but don't worry, I will not leave the prehistoric world directly."

"In the future, I will also be a member of the Taiwei Heavenly Court, paying attention to the development of the prehistoric world and protecting this land that we all love."

Xuanqing looked at the gods and said earnestly:

"A period of ten thousand years is neither long nor short."

"I hope that during this period, everyone will remain in their positions and make a smooth transition, so as not to cause unnecessary turmoil due to my impending abdication."

"After the new Heavenly Emperor ascends the throne, it is hoped that all of you will be of one mind and one heart to assist him in creating a new situation."

These words were both a reassurance and an instruction.

Upon hearing this, the gods felt somewhat relieved.

Although His Majesty the Heavenly Emperor has abdicated, he will not leave, which is undoubtedly good news.

They all bowed respectfully, saying, "We will humbly obey Your Majesty's teachings!"

Di Jun stood there quietly, his posture as upright as a pine tree.

He did not immediately make any statements or promises.

At this moment, any words seem inadequate.

Only future actions can prove everything.

He will spend ten thousand years making the most thorough preparations for succeeding to the throne of the Heavenly Emperor.

This also gave the gods of the primordial world enough time to adapt to the new ruler who was about to take over.

This is also the reason why Xuanqing declared Dijun as the "Crown Prince" of the Three Realms at this time.

~~~~
The aftermath of the grand assembly gradually subsided, and the saints returned to their respective divine realms and dojos to continue their daily lives.
The sound of students reciting their lessons at the Heavenly Dao Academy remains the most beautiful melody in the primordial Three Realms, with countless beings immersed in the radiance of the Great Dao.
After the grand court assembly, the Great Luo Supremes intensified their seclusion schedules, striving for breakthroughs in the Great Dao.
They sensed that the future would not be peaceful.
The younger generation of gods and immortals are working diligently in their respective positions, contributing their strength to the prosperity of the primordial world.
Of course, the clever gods had already set their sights on the newly crown prince—the Sun God, Emperor Jun.
They tried to establish contact with this future Heavenly Emperor through various channels, whether openly or covertly.
A deity carrying lavish gifts personally visited the Sun Palace, expressing his earnest hopes for the future Heavenly Court and his support for Emperor Jun.
Some deities also conveyed goodwill through former colleagues and acquaintances, hoping to leave a good impression on Di Jun.
Some astute tribal leaders or chieftains of smaller tribes began to tirelessly promote the achievements and prestige of the Sun God within their own spheres of influence.
In response to these various attempts to curry favor, Di Jun displayed composure and wisdom befitting his status.
He was neither arrogant because of his status as crown prince nor conceited because of the adulation of the gods; he always maintained a gentle and measured demeanor.
Emperor Jun lavished praise on those gods who sincerely came to him for refuge, and who were outstanding in ability and virtuous in character. He promised them future cooperation and expectations, and considered including them in his future team.
For those who are merely seeking personal gain or have ulterior motives, Di Jun keeps his distance discreetly, treating them with courtesy but avoiding close relationships, thus preventing unnecessary trouble.
He knew that as the future Heavenly Emperor, the key to governing the world was to recruit talented people and unite all forces that could be united.
Ten thousand years is but a fleeting moment for these immortal gods, yet it is enough for Di Jun to weave a network of relationships that covers the entire primordial world.
Like a patient chess player, he steadily placed his pieces one step at a time on the vast chessboard of the primordial world.
Through repeated meetings and discussions, Di Jun gradually gained the recognition and respect of more and more deities.
His words and actions possessed both the majesty and decisiveness of the Sun God and the humility and politeness of a crown prince, making people feel as if they were bathed in a spring breeze.
Gradually, in the vast wilderness, praises of the sun's supreme virtue and wisdom began to quietly spread.
With his outstanding personal charm and political skills, Di Jun has accumulated a wealth of reputation and connections for himself without even realizing it.
His base of support also became increasingly solid and expanded during this process, laying a solid foundation for his smooth ascension to the throne later.
Besides these necessary external social engagements and relationship building, Dijun also devoted more energy to the actual operation of the Heavenly Court.
He began to share the responsibilities of Emperor Ziwei Fuxi in the Heavenly Court, gradually taking over various government affairs.
From patrolling and dispatching star regions to reviewing documents in various departments, from resource allocation and planning to foreign exchanges with other Dao regions, Di Jun began to get involved in everything.
His figure began to appear frequently in the Heavenly Emperor's Palace, seeking instructions and reporting to Xuan Qing, and learning from his experience and wisdom in handling various complex matters.
Di Jun demonstrated an amazing learning ability and talent for handling government affairs, and quickly became able to manage various matters in an orderly manner.
Emperor Fuxi was naturally delighted with this, and his face beamed with joy.
"Fellow Daoist, you must do your best!"
Without hesitation, he generously handed over many of his powers to this diligent crown prince.
Fuxi happily began his leisurely life of "fishing for three days and drying nets for two," completely letting himself go.
Aside from occasionally being dragged by Xuan Qing to attend secret internal gatherings of the Taiwei Heavenly Court elders, he rarely even made a public appearance in the Heavenly Court.
Most of the time, Fuxi was either busy in the Mountain and Sea Realm or going to the Spirit Realm to call on friends and experience all sorts of novel games.
This extremely lazy and hands-off management style made Emperor Xuanqing's forehead veins throb, and he was quite dissatisfied.
The reason is simple: ever since Di Jun skillfully took over Fu Xi's work, Xuan Qing has found that his time to slack off has actually decreased significantly!
When Fuxi was around, he would often come and keep me occupied, trying to get me to work overtime.
But he wasn't as crazy as Di Jun.
This guy comes every day!
"Fellow Daoist,"
One day, in the Heavenly Emperor's Palace, Xuan Qing looked at Di Jun, who was engrossed in a pile of jade slips and documents, and said with a hint of helplessness and resentment.
“These trivial administrative matters can actually be completely handed over to the lower-level administrative offices for handling.”
"Or you can submit it directly to the Heavenly Way Committee for collective discussion, so you don't have to do everything yourself."
Xuanqing subtly reminded the overly diligent crown prince.
The Heavenly Emperor's duty is to govern all things and grasp the overall situation, not to drown himself in endless meetings and paperwork.
Di Jun looked up from the mountain of memorials, glanced calmly at Xuan Qing, and said indifferently, "I know, Your Majesty."
"Knowing that, why do you still come to my Heavenly Emperor Palace every day? Anyone who didn't know better would think you're the Heavenly Emperor!" Xuan Qing glared at him, annoyed.
Upon hearing this, Di Jun's lips curled into a meaningful smile: "Your Majesty, isn't my diligence precisely to demonstrate to the gods of the primordial world how close and harmonious my relationship with Your Majesty is?"
He put down the jade slip in his hand and said calmly, "Among the gods of the primordial world, there are still many who have doubts about my succession to the position of Heavenly Emperor."
"They worry that I will not be able to inherit His Majesty's great cause, and that I will not be able to continue His Majesty's wise policies and divine will in the next era."
“I now come to the Heavenly Emperor’s Palace every day to listen to His Majesty’s teachings, and I make sure to ask for instructions in the morning and report in the evening. I discuss all matters, big and small, with His Majesty.”
"This is to let all the gods in the Three Realms clearly see how I have been valued and carefully nurtured by His Majesty the Heavenly Emperor, and how I have inherited his will and strategies step by step."
"In this way, they will feel more at ease about my future rule, and it will also reduce a lot of unnecessary obstacles and burdens for me to formally inherit the throne of the Heavenly Emperor. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"
After listening to Di Jun's clear and logical explanation, Xuan Qing couldn't help but laugh and scold, "Well done, you're really clever!"
After a moment's thought, he understood the key point: "This idea was given to you by that guy Suixing (Fuxi), right? Only he could come up with such an idea that allows you to be lazy while also gaining favor!"
This was absolutely Fuxi's way of getting himself to slack off legitimately, so he tricked Dijun into becoming a laborer!
As expected, Di Jun nodded frankly and admitted, "Your Majesty's guess is absolutely correct. This plan was indeed proposed by Fellow Daoist Suixing."
He paused, then added, "Moreover, I think what Fellow Daoist Suixing said is indeed very reasonable, and it is beneficial to both me and the Heavenly Court."
"He has no reason to believe you. He just wants to trick you into coming here to work for him so he can go off and enjoy himself!" Xuanqing ruthlessly exposed Fuxi's little scheme.
However, Xuan Qing changed the subject, saying with a hint of mockery, "Alright, alright, if you really want to continue handling these government affairs, then keep doing it. I'm happy to have some peace and quiet."
"But now, I have worked hard to complete a full cycle of the Heavenly Emperor's work, and it's time to enjoy the happy time of 'getting off work'."
Before he could finish speaking, Xuan Qing, fearing that Di Jun would find some other reason to keep him here, swayed and decisively left a Dao body on the imperial throne.
Its true form transformed into an imperceptible stream of light and vanished without a trace in an instant.
Di Jun silently watched the entire process of the Heavenly Emperor Xuan Qing's decisive "skipping work," and then carefully examined the Dao body sitting on the imperial throne.
That figure possessed a profound aura and a majestic demeanor, identical to Xuan Qing himself, revealing absolutely no flaws.
He nodded thoughtfully, thinking to himself, "Hmm, this skill of skipping work and running away without leaving a trace seems to be one of the essential lessons for a Heavenly Emperor. I've learned another essential trick today!"
Afterwards, Di Jun calmed his mind and diligently handled the affairs of the Heavenly Court for a period of time, arranging all matters properly.
Then, following Xuan Qing's example, he quietly created an avatar identical to himself, allowing it to remain in the Heavenly Emperor's Palace to handle daily affairs, while his true self silently left the majestic Heavenly Emperor's Palace.
After leaving the Heavenly Emperor Palace, Di Jun did not linger in the Heavenly Court. Instead, he tore through the void and headed to the mysterious and unpredictable Spirit Realm.
He entered a special game world called "Tianji Pavilion" with ease, which was their secret hideout where their small circle often gathered.
Upon entering, they were greeted by a group of radiant figures who had been waiting there. "Fellow Daoist Di Jun, you've finally arrived! We've been waiting for you for a long time!" Celestial Master Kunpeng was the first to greet them, his face showing a hint of eagerness.
Beside him were Bai Ze, Ying Zhao, Shang Yang, and other Zhou Tian Star Gods who were on good terms with Di Jun.
Even more noteworthy is that several heavyweight goddesses, including Nuwa (the Grand Minister of Taiwei), Wangshu (the Supreme Lord of Taiyin), and Changxi (the Little Moon Goddess), are also prominently featured on the list.
Of course, there's also the "Welfare Immortal" Taiyi.
In addition, there are many masked deities, including immortals, beings from various heavens, dragons, and phoenixes.
They were all invited here by the secret arrangement of the "Ziwei Emperor" Fuxi.
As for why the dragons arrived, it was because Taiyi arranged it through his own celestial concubine, Yinglong.
The Phoenix Clan appeared because Di Jun invited them through his alternate account, the Black Bird Elder.
Di Jun's gaze swept over every deity present, a confident smile appearing on his face. He announced in a loud voice, "Fellow Daoists, now that everyone is here, let's officially begin our 'Cabinet' gathering!"
Indeed, after careful preparation, Di Jun's inner circle, centered around himself, has gradually been perfected.
Because they often hold talks within the game world of "Tianjige".
Therefore, this small circle is jokingly referred to as the "cabinet"!
He knew all too well that it would not be easy for one person to perfectly govern the vast Heavenly Court in the future.
Only by uniting a group of like-minded core members and forming a powerful ruling alliance can we be assured of victory and create a more brilliant future!
~~~~
In another room in the game world of "Tianji Pavilion".

Xuanqing is also playing games.

In the scene, a celestial strategist dressed in purple robes leads three thousand mechs in a barrage of artillery fire at a Taoist temple.

"You're cheating! How did a level six celestial strategist manage to find my base?" a slightly angry voice rang out.

"Aren't astrologers just professional cheaters?"

Xuan Qing spoke slowly and deliberately, his hands never stopping.

"That's how games are played. If you can't beat someone, you can surrender."

"Surrender? Impossible!"

Yang Mei hid inside the dojo, with nowhere to hide.

He said, "I, Yang Mei, have roamed freely through the chaos and the primordial wilderness. When have I ever surrendered?"

"Is that so?" Xuan Qing flung out the Heavenly Secrets Runes in his hand, which transformed into cannons that bombarded the dojo in a frenzy.

"The secrets of the ten directions, reveal them!"

With a single command, another three thousand mechs landed.

"That's insane!" Yang Mei exclaimed, dumbfounded.

"Isn't there something wrong between your secrets and mine?"

"Shouldn't we be competing to see who is better at predicting the future, the hidden, and the unknown?"

"Also, how did you accumulate these resources?"

Xuan Qing said, "Fortune telling, although it is also a form of cheating, can only be considered a minor form of cheating."

"I'll just sweep everything aside. What do I care about the future, secrets, or the unknown? Does it matter to me?"

"This is the true secret of heaven!"

Yang Mei was completely convinced: "I surrender!"

"Haotian will be your page, alright?"

Yang Mei gave up struggling.

"You made a bet, that's what you promised, I didn't force you," Xuan Qing said with a smile.

"Yes, yes, I'll accept the consequences of my bet."

Yang Mei sighed and walked out from among the broken walls and ruins.

"This game is garbage! Who developed it? It's so unbalanced!"

Xuanqing laughed and said, "The game developers are right next door to us."

Yang Mei's expression shifted, and she extended her divine sense.

Then it was slashed back by a sharp blade.

"Ahem~~" Yang Mei coughed, meeting Xuan Qing's teasing gaze.

“Eavesdropping is not a good habit, fellow Daoist.” Xuan Qing stared at Yang Mei, a smile curving his lips.

"There are quite a lot of people." Yang Mei looked away.

Xuan Qing nodded: "Those are the next generation of successors of our Heavenly Court, wouldn't it be better to have more?"

Yang Mei shook her head: "The more people there are, the more trouble there will be."

"When there are more people united, there is greater strength."

Xuan Qing restarted the game and was immediately matched with an opponent.

"For example, the gods helped Fellow Daoist Hongjun achieve Dao."

Yang Mei rolled her eyes: "How can that be the same?"

He watched Xuan Qing's game activity for a while and saw that the other party was stomping noobs again, which made Yang Mei feel instantly better.

"So the game just can't balance the Heavenly Emperor, then that makes sense."

"Do you think Hongjun can succeed in merging with the Dao?" Xuanqing asked, turning his head.

Yang Mei raised an eyebrow: "You're in charge of this, and you're asking me?"

"Aren't you his good comrade-in-arms?"

Xuanqing smiled and said, "You definitely know more than I do."

Yang Mei remained silent.

Xuanqing said, "The idea of achieving the Primordial Chaos is ultimately just a speculation. Since Hongjun intends to take this path, I will lend him a hand."

Whether it will ultimately succeed depends on Hongjun himself.

"You call that 'helping'?" Yang Mei couldn't help but question.

"Just tell me if he's currently in the Dao Integration stage," Xuan Qing said, silencing Yang Meigan once again.

Xuanqing then asked, "Fellow Daoist, to be honest, does Hongjun have any other tricks up his sleeve?"

"I don't know." Yang Mei shook her head.

"He didn't tell you?"

Xuan Qing stared at Yang Mei for a moment, "It seems your relationship isn't as close as I thought!"

Yang Mei's hand, hidden in her sleeve, suddenly clenched. "What has the Heavenly Emperor found out now?"

"I don't know, I'm just guessing." Xuan Qing looked at the game screen again, summoned three thousand mechs again, and began to bombard the enemy's base with artillery fire.

“From beginning to end, I never saw through Hongjun, and neither did you.”

"Therefore, I suspect he won't just fade into obscurity; there may be other exciting projects waiting for us in the future."

"Fellow Daoist, aren't you looking forward to it?"

Yang Mei gradually loosened his grip. He pondered for a moment, then shook his head and said, "Actually, it's quite good that he's in harmony with the Heavenly Dao. Let's not cause any more trouble."

Yang Mei was very happy to see her old friend return.

However, ever since Yang Mei saw that the sealed Hongjun could still create the Dao Reversal Body of the Gods, her thoughts have changed.

Just as Xuanqing said, he didn't actually see through Hongjun either.

At least his old friend's Balanced Path made him a little scared.

"Sigh, it's over again."

Xuanqing quickly breached the enemy's main camp, completely crushing the newbie.

Why haven't so many people grasped the true essence of this game?

"A small opening doesn't count; only a big opening can lead to a great victory!"

Yang Mei, listening from the side, could only scoff.

Even the developers of "Tianji Pavilion" would have to call you "Big Brother"—is this how you play with the game "Tianji"?!

Another room.

"Jin Peng, what's wrong?" Kong Xuan looked at Jin Peng curiously.

Jin Peng's lips trembled slightly, and he was on the verge of a breakdown.

He turned to look at Kong Xuan, his voice trembling with tears: "Brother, you must avenge me!"

He gave Kong Xuan an account.

"Okay, little brother, don't worry!" Kong Xuan was overjoyed to hear Jin Peng call him "brother" for the first time.

But on the surface, his expression remained serious and unsmiling.

Games start.

Not long after, Kong Xuan stared blankly at the sky, his eyes vacant.

"Brother, what's wrong?" Jin Peng asked curiously.

"Brother, what do you think is the meaning of cultivation?" Kong Xuan asked leisurely.

Jin Peng was startled.

"Mother, come quick! My brother has gone mad!"

~~~~
Three thousand years is but a fleeting moment in the vast river of time, yet it is enough for many seeds to take root and sprout, and for many plans to begin to take shape.
Over the years, Di Jun has been diligent in his duties and cultivated many good relationships. His prestige as crown prince has grown increasingly strong in the hearts of the gods, and with his participation, the various affairs of the Heavenly Court have maintained efficient and stable operation.
On this day, a majestic and resounding bell rang out from the highest divine palace of the Taiwei Heavenly Court—the Heavenly Emperor Palace. The bell tolled nine times, announcing that the highest-level grand court assembly was about to convene.
The sound of the bell penetrated through layers of space, clearly reaching every corner of the Primordial True Realm, and even spreading to all the heavens and myriad realms. All the gods belonging to the Heavenly Dao Academy system, no matter where they were, felt it in their hearts.
Following this was the decree of the Holy Heavenly Emperor Xuanqing.
The imperial edict ordered all deans, outstanding teachers, and deities who had made outstanding contributions to the education of the Heavenly Dao, as well as the headquarters of the Primordial Heavenly Dao Academy and all its branch academies in various Dao domains and worlds, to immediately set off for the Purple Cloud Palace.
"Let's go. The upcoming Second Zixiao Palace Conference will also be the Second All-Academy Academic Exchange and Future Development Planning Conference of Tiandao Academy."
"This conference may be the last one before the Heavenly Emperor abdicates."
“Don’t miss it!”
Upon receiving the decree, the gods dared not neglect it and immediately put down their affairs.
In an instant, from the shores of the East Sea to Mount Sumeru in the west, from the abyss of the North Sea to the volcano of the South Heaven, beams of divine light shot into the sky, transforming into a dazzling meteor shower, converging towards the Zixiao Palace located in the depths of chaos, in the land of Wuji.
On Mount Sumeru, Jieyin and Zhunti exchanged a smile and led Ksitigarbha and other outstanding disciples and Buddhist teachers onto auspicious clouds bound for Zixiao Palace.
At the summit of Kunlun Mountain, the Three Pure Ones each gathered their elite disciples, preparing to further expound the profound Dao of Xuanmen at this conference and to exchange ideas and engage with other Daoist traditions.
In the underworld, Wuyou, Styx, Wangchuan, and the Ten Kings of Hell also received invitations.
His figure appeared in all the sacred mountains and great marshes, and blessed lands throughout the primordial world.
This time, among the gods, the proportion of Great Luo Supremes was significantly higher.
Last time it was less than one-tenth, this time it's close to one-fifth.
This is the result of the Heavenly Emperor's reign over the world.
"The Heavenly Emperor said that this meeting should further promote the development of the Great Dao in the primordial world."
"There will be more and more Great Luo Supremes in the future, and the Primordial World will become more and more lively!"
At this moment, they are all moving towards the same goal with enthusiasm for the Great Way and expectations for the future.
This is not only a grand gathering within the Heavenly Dao Academy, but also a grand review of the educational achievements of the past Yuanhui (primordial era), and a crucial meeting to build consensus and draw up a blueprint for the development direction of the next era.
"It's been hundreds of thousands of years since I last saw you. I wonder how Principal Hong is doing now?"
The gods never forgot Hongjun Daoren.
After not seeing him for hundreds of thousands of years, everyone really misses him.
