Chapter 313 The End of the Diary
Although such thinking may be somewhat selfish.

It was her one-sided idea, but Pei Zhiyi still wouldn't change it.

Even though Lu Yanxu and the others are now her family, she doesn't have any family members in the true sense, any family members by blood.

She wasn't in a hurry to get it, but there was no need to hide it from Gu Enling and the others.

After all, unless they cut all ties with them, who could the child's father be?

He's just one of them.

They are all still young, so Pei Zhiyi didn't put too much thought into it.

Little did she know that her words had caused a huge uproar in Gu Enling's heart.

Gu Enling stopped in her tracks, stunned.

Pei Zhiyi took a few steps, then stopped when she realized Gu Enling wasn't following. She looked at him strangely and asked, "What's wrong?"

Gu Enling followed, her voice much lower: "You said you like children and want a child of your own."

Pei Zhiyi had just said that, so she couldn't have forgotten it in less than a minute.

She nodded.

Gu Enling looked up and stared intently at her: "Pei Zhiyi, I want a child too."

"A child who belongs to me, someone I can be close to and spend time with freely. I will learn to be a good father."

Pei Zhiyi felt that her expression should be one of astonishment.

The main problem is that Gu Enling was taking it too seriously.

She truly knew what his family was like, and naturally understood that deep down he might be pursuing similar things as she was.

Their families were not very happy, and all they could do was make their own families happy.

Just when Gu Enling thought Pei Zhiyi would say something else...

Suddenly, Pei Zhiyi reached out and grabbed his cheek: "Pei Zhiyi, what are you doing?"

Pei Zhiyi said, "You're dreaming now."

He spoke as if he could have a child with her right now, and the way he conveyed that feeling made the air seem thinner.

Gu Enling's face was easily pinched until it turned bright red, with the two thumbprints being particularly noticeable.

As soon as she loosened her grip, the marks on her left and right cheeks became particularly noticeable; Pei Zhiyi had used force, naturally leaving traces.

Gu Enling rubbed her face: "I was just speaking from the heart."

Pei Zhiyi looked at him and said, "These are my honest thoughts."

They all knew that now was not the time, at least Pei Zhiyi was not yet old enough to be a mother.

There's also a Beta terrorist organization eyeing her, and she has a bright future ahead of her; she's already a colonel, and her future will only be brighter.

Such a person should not be held back by children.

They also don't yet have the resources to give this child the best care.

Gu Enling sighed. Fine, rationally speaking, Pei Zhiyi is right.

In reality, the idea had already been planted in my mind, just waiting for the time to come for it to take root and sprout.

Pei Zhiyi stopped wasting words with Gu Enling and walked towards the starship first, stepping on the soft soil.

This time, she didn't wait for Gu Enling either.

Gu Enling followed while pinching her cheek.

Gu Enling escorted Pei Zhiyi back to her room, only to find three Alphas standing in front of the starship.

They might be standing upright, leaning against a handrail, or with their backs against a wall.

They remained silent until they spotted her, at which point they turned their gazes in.

“I understand,” Xiao Chi called out first.

Pei Zhiyi looked at the people standing at the door, then at the calm AI that no one was contacting: "Why didn't you say anything on the AI?"

If she had known they were waiting at the door, she would have come back much faster.

Shi Min looked at her: "Did you go to see Yu Xuan and the others?"

Pei Zhiyi nodded: "Tell them that if they need any help in the future, they can contact me directly."

The door opened, and the five people rushed into the somewhat cramped room.

Once the door closed, the room felt cramped again.

Pei Zhiyi looked at them and asked, "What happened? Why are they all coming to find her?"

Lu Yanxu projected something in the air that looked like a diary, containing handwriting.

Pei Zhiyi looked up.

The handwriting here was too familiar; she had seen something similar just a few days ago.

The owner of that lab notebook.

Pei Zhiyi immediately looked at Lu Yanxu.

"This was just sent to me by Colonel Han. He said it was found on planet B36."

That follow-up
Lu Yanxu only briefly mentioned the diary to Zuo Xuetong, but he had obviously told Colonel Han about it.

This wasn't a difficult thing for Colonel Han; it was just a coincidence that he made such a discovery.

A story that can be considered a tragedy.

Pei Zhiyi paused, then looked intently at the new entries in the notebook.

There was no time this time.

It begins with the regret of a Beta researcher.

-

I lost my laptop, and I remembered that I had abandoned it in the past.

Will someone discover my secret in this sealed-off location?
I do not know.

I miss Alec terribly.

-

Pei Zhiyi noticed the length of the page; there were only three or four dots on the projection.

This proves that there are only a few photos.

If her handwriting on this piece of paper is still clear and distinct, then the handwriting on the next piece can be described as penetrating the paper.

The handwriting was so messy it looked like it was going to puncture the whole paper.

-

Alec is dead.

He lied to me.

He had no interest in studying alien beasts from beginning to end; his research had always focused on how Betas could possess mental power.

He volunteered to serve as a valuable human subject for reference experiments.

How could he lie to me?
How could everyone know all this except me?
It turns out that not everyone was unaware; everyone knew that I was with him.

It turns out that everyone silently watched how he fell in love with me in his final days, pretending not to know anything about it.

If it succeeds, they say, Alec will become the first Beta with psychic powers, confess his love to me again, and be with me again.

If he fails, he doesn't want anyone to tell him the truth.

But how could that be? How could I not be curious about an experiment that suddenly excludes me?

I saw his short, golden hair, and I saw him lying peacefully on the bed, as if he were asleep.

Alec.

I hate you.

I would rather you just disappear from my sight and shine brightly on other planets, dedicating your strength.

You have told me more than once that you are a selfish and cowardly person.

But I never took it seriously.

Now, I must say that you are an extremely selfish person.

I hate you.

I hate you.
These three words almost filled the entire subsequent page, with some of the writing smudged and blurred.

The marks are left by tears.

There were no more diary entries after that.

No one knows what state the protagonist of this story is in now, whether he died in B36, or whether he also participated in the experiment on mental power.

A somewhat melodramatic story.
