(Thanks to the boy who loves reading historical novels for his support!)
The container door opened.
A mountain of cardboard boxes appeared before the two of them.
The pastor picked up the Polaroid camera and continued taking pictures, capturing all the labels on the cardboard boxes.
These photos are very useful because they will be sent to the Kwai Chung Industrial Complex, and the factories there will handle the packaging as quickly as possible.
The factory is protected by the number gang. The pastor helped the factory owner resolve some troubles. Because of their relationship, the factory owner will definitely prioritize starting production.
After taking the photos, the pastor took out some adhesive tape from his pocket and started sticking it on from the bottom up, covering the first side of the box. Then he put on some sticky notes.
The entire box was covered with sticky notes, and he marked them from top to bottom with a marker.
The priest marked not only one side, but also the other two sides. After marking them, he began to move the boxes.
Three cardboard boxes were stacked in order and placed on a pre-prepared plastic sheet.
After dealing with the first three boxes, the priest and Xiaoxin put on rubber gloves, protective suits, and goggles, and began to open the boxes and pry open the chili sauce.
Jars of chili sauce were opened, and the two of them reached in, scooped out the blue blood from the jars, and put it into an empty plastic bucket next to them.
The two worked quickly, filling a bucket in half an hour. After filling the bucket, they put the lid on and set it aside.
The warehouse reeked of chili sauce, and even with industrial masks on, the priest and Shin-chan couldn't stop coughing.
Warehouse No. 57 was busy, and the neighboring warehouse No. 58 was not idle either.
The containers that had just arrived at the site were covered in the marks of years of hard work.
The outer wall is covered with rust spots of varying depths. In some places, the rust has bulged into brownish-red protrusions, and fine rust fragments can be easily removed by scratching with your hand.
The previous user's blurry mark is still left on the corner, washed away by the rain, leaving only half of the blue imprint.
The metal frame at the bottom was covered in mud and sand, and some welds even showed traces of water seepage.
To bring such a dilapidated item, an old tin box, back to life, every step of the renovation and painting process requires patience and meticulous attention to detail.
The idiot dragon frowned as he looked at the abandoned refrigerated container he had bought at a high price. He knew he had been ripped off as soon as he saw the condition of the container.
But there's no turning back now; he has to get things done today, and he doesn't have time to buy a new container.
However, there are advantages to being old; very new shipping containers are easier to detect.
But such self-hypnosis had no effect whatsoever, and the idiot dragon could only pin his hopes on the helper he had hired to quickly deal with the container that was about to end up in the junkyard.
The first step in the renovation was a thorough cleaning. The workers first wore thick gloves and used stiff brushes to sweep along the grain of the container.
Foreman Lao Zhou frowned as he looked at the rotten shipping container, but for the sake of the money, he could only endure it, standing with his hands on his hips watching his men get to work.
Workers swept the surface dust, mud, and loose rust onto a dustproof cloth on the ground to prevent dust from spreading everywhere.
When encountering stubborn rust, switch to an angle grinder equipped with a wire wheel, which emits a low "humming" sound when turned on.
Sparks from the metal friction flew along the edge of the wheel, and the rust layer was gradually ground into fine iron filings, revealing the dark metal underneath.
For the rust and dirt in the crevices, you have to wrap a piece of gauze with a thin wire and rub it in little by little until you can no longer feel any rough particles in the crevices.
After cleaning the rust, the outer wall is then rinsed with a high-pressure water gun. The powerful water jet effectively washes away any remaining iron filings and oil stains. Finally, it is wiped dry with a clean cloth to keep the container's exterior dry—this step is crucial, as any moisture entering the subsequent processes can easily cause it to rust again.
After cleaning the surface, Lao Zhou put on a safety helmet and went inside the container to begin inspecting the structure.
He walked around inside before coming out, feeling somewhat relieved. The inside was much better than the outside, but there was a lot of rust inside.
If I'm not mistaken, this container must have been pulled out of the sea by the ship crew.
The ocean is mysterious and unpredictable; it can stir up winds and waves at any time. Even giant ships of tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of tons are just small shrimps on the sea.
When the wind blows and the waves rise, the containers on the deck will fall into the sea.
A cargo ship in motion will not stop even if a container falls into the sea, because time and speed are fixed.
As for containers that fall into the sea, the insurance company will handle them; it's a common occurrence anyway.
Hearing is believing, seeing is believing, but seeing can only determine the general situation. We still need to check it little by little. Old Zhou waved his hand and told the workers to continue their work.
Workers went inside the container, took small hammers, and gently tapped the inner walls and frame of the container to listen to the sound and determine if there were any hollow spots or loose parts.
If the sound changes from crisp to dull when you tap a certain part, it indicates that there may be rust-induced inclusions inside, which need to be marked for further processing.
When encountering cracks in the weld, first use an angle grinder to grind down the metal around the crack to expose fresh metal surface, and then use a welding machine to repair the weld.
The flame from the welding torch is bright blue, and the welding wire melts into silvery-gray slag.
After cooling, knock it off with a hammer, then sand it smooth to ensure that the weld is flush with the original metal surface and that no protruding weld beads are left.
The repair process was very time-consuming; it took a whole day to simply renovate both the inside and outside.
After the renovation is completed, the painting process begins. The surface preparation before painting is more thorough than the initial cleaning during the renovation.
First, wipe the entire exterior wall with an oil remover to remove fingerprints or oil stains from the air; otherwise, pinholes may appear after painting.
Next, use fine sandpaper to gently sand the outer wall, making the previously welded and reinforced areas as smooth as the surrounding area, while creating fine textures on the metal surface to facilitate paint adhesion.
After sanding, wipe the surface with a clean cotton cloth dampened with dust remover to ensure there is no dust on the surface.
When spraying paint, you should first apply a primer. The primer you choose is an epoxy anti-rust primer, which has strong adhesion and anti-rust capabilities.
Seeing that the painting process had progressed, Idiot Dragon quickly went to the adjacent warehouse number 57, retrieved the photos, and handed them over to Lao Zhou.
There are no uniform regulations for the color of shipping containers; each company has its own. When Lao Zhou took the photo, he immediately knew what to expect.
These are the colors and standards used by Oak International Shipping Company. He gave a few instructions to the workers in charge of painting, telling them to follow the photos.
The paints were all pre-mixed, and once a reference object was available, the workers began spraying the paint.
Since it's only used once, there's no need to repeatedly apply waterproof paint or let it sit for 48 hours.
After the primer was sprayed, we waited half an hour for it to dry slightly, but the workers did not rest during this time and continued working.
They started by arranging the cardboard signs with numbers and English text on the container doors and spraying them with the same colors as the photos.
