Chapter 370 Can Asians Sing?
Chapter 370 Can Asians Sing?
A university gate in Los Angeles.
Walker trotted up to a stunning blonde woman with blue eyes and said shyly:
“Mary, let’s go see Kanye West this weekend. I got two tickets from a friend.”
Mary glanced at Walker, her eyes full of impatience. "I don't like Kanye. I like Bruno Mars."
Kanye West is commonly known as "Kanye" in China, while Bruno Mars is known as "Brother Mars".
In 2008, both singers had already achieved considerable fame, especially Kanye West, who had become a household name in the rap scene and was the most popular rapper in the past two years besides Eminem.
Bruno Mars is slightly less famous, but he is already quite well-known, and his unique style is very popular with girls.
“But Bruno Mars doesn’t have any shows lately, so we can go see Kanye’s show first, and then we can go see him again when he comes to Los Angeles next time…”
Walker wasn't keen on giving up, so he shamelessly continued speaking.
Before he could finish speaking, Mary's eyes suddenly lit up, and she excitedly ran towards a short distance away, shouting as she ran:
Rick, I'm here.
“Hi Mary, Evan and I were just talking about you. We’re going to see Kanye West on Sunday. Do you want to come along?”
"Ah, sure, I love Kanye West the most, his rap is really great."
Walker watched as his dream girl walked away arm in arm with someone else, chatting and laughing, and he suddenly felt like crying.
"Brother, she's not right for you. I think you should forget about her."
His good friend Demi had arrived at his side without him noticing, patting him on the shoulder with a comforting expression.
"Fuck you, what's wrong with me?"
Walker clenched his fists in anger.
"You're just as good as anyone else, you just chose the wrong target."
Demi continued to comfort him, pulling out two tickets to the show. "I think you should try your luck at this show."
Walker glanced down at the performance tickets Demi handed him.
"Abel? New singer?"
"No, your information is too outdated. This guy is very popular in Europe and America this year. He is very popular with girls. Last time he held a performance in Los Angeles, someone counted that the entire audience was full of girls."
Do you know Draymond Green from the basketball team? That guy is the least popular with girls in school.
He's already found a girlfriend; I heard they met at an Abel concert.
Demi looked on with anticipation, "There will be a lot of girls at Abel's shows. If we just pretend to be Abel's fans, we're sure to make some money."
"But I don't even know who Abel is, and I really don't want to go to a boring show."
Walker wasn't really keen on going.
He didn't even know who Abel was, and he thought he'd be bored to death going to see an unknown singer perform.
"You may not know him, but you've heard his songs. The song you heard before, 'Insomnia,' was sung by him."
Also, that song you said was really nice yesterday, "Baby," is his new song.
Demi had clearly done his research and was very clear about Wu Zhuo's situation.
"baby?"
Walker subconsciously thought of this song.
It was yesterday morning when he and Demi were taking a taxi and happened to hear the radio playing this song.
Because I thought the song was very nice, I asked the taxi driver for the song's name.
The two chatted as they walked home.
Just as the two were passing by a music and video store, a beautiful sound suddenly came from inside.
"Baby, life has always been good to me, but you just made it better."
I love the way you stand by me through any kind of weather.
I don't want to run away.
"Just want to make your day"
"I just want you to be happy..." Walker suddenly stopped upon hearing this song.
The image of myself kneeling and licking Mary's boots kept flashing through my mind.
For a moment, his eyes welled up with tears.
He was clearly the one who wanted to make Mary happy, but why did she never give herself a chance...?
"Hey bro, you're in luck, Abel's album's been released."
Demi didn't notice Walker's mood; instead, she was excitedly looking at the music store not far away.
He pointed to the huge banner at the entrance of the music store, "Look, I told you Abel was hot. His poster is even bigger than Bruno Mars's. That's proof of his popularity."
"Um, what's wrong with you?"
It was only then that Demi noticed Walker was crying, and she was completely dumbfounded.
“It’s okay.” Walker wiped away his tears. “Abel, whom you mentioned, may be really amazing, but I don’t think he’s my type. I’m more interested in the singer of the song that’s playing right now.”
With that, Walker walked straight toward the music store.
Because they were far apart, Walker hadn't really noticed the Abel poster that Demy mentioned.
Upon closer inspection, it became clear that, just as Demi had said, the Abel posters at the entrance of the record store were indeed the most numerous.
It was only at this point that Demi realized that Abel was actually Asian.
But it was this discovery that immediately extinguished his remaining interest in Abel.
Can Asians sing?
They're more believable when they say they know kung fu than when they sing.
"Hey boss, whose song is playing right now? It's really good. Do you have any CDs? I'd like one."
The bearded boss is busy.
There were quite a few people in the store, all browsing records.
Some people even took the records to the owner to pay their bill.
After settling the bill for a young girl, the bearded shopkeeper finally looked up.
"You mean 'Until You'? It's a song from Abel's new album."
You're in luck. I just got a lot of Abel records; you can go in and choose for yourself.
The third row from the left is filled with Abel's records, including this new album, *I Abel*.
"Abel, you mean, this song is sung by that Asian guy?"
Walker looked incredulous.
"What's wrong with Asians? Did Asians eat your rice?"
Before the bearded boss could speak, a voice of dissatisfaction suddenly rang out.
Walker looked at the person speaking and realized it was an Asian-looking boy.
The boy was strong and powerful; he clearly knew martial arts.
"I'm sorry, my friend wasn't being discriminatory. He just didn't expect Abel to be so amazing."
Demi had been following Walker closely, and when he realized that Walker's words had offended someone, he quickly came up to apologize.
“Watch your mouth. What do you mean by ‘Asian’? It’s the Asian you’re talking about. His songs are Billboard regulars. His new album didn’t even get officially released before it hit the Billboard Top 30.”
This is the Asian man you mentioned; he has over two million fans in the United States and is the most popular singer this year.
The muscular Asian man seemed very dissatisfied with Walker's words and retorted with a cold expression.
"I'm sorry, he didn't mean it."
Demi was genuinely afraid that this Chinese man would use kung fu to beat them up, so he kept apologizing.
