Chapter 9 All Stolen

Yan Chaonian did not answer Jiang Wencheng's words, and did not even glance at him. He turned and left.

Jiang Wencheng watched her walk into the door of Chaojinfang. The gatekeeper was quite polite to her, which made Jiang Wencheng have other thoughts.

Since there is no news about the abbot, Yan family may be the breakthrough point.

Several guards not far away saw everything that had just happened. They waited until Jiang Wencheng turned around and left before they began to whisper to each other:
"I've seen this man before. He must be someone Madam knows, but he doesn't look familiar to me."

"I think he's an enemy. He looks like a human but he's not. Could he have any intentions towards my wife?"

"That's useless. Madam is not blind. Our master is much better looking than this guy. This guy looks like he has been squeezed dry. He is not a good person."

Several people gathered together and whispered like street thugs, pointing and talking at Jiang Wencheng's back. Jiang Wencheng, who was completely unaware, was instructing his followers to find out the relationship between Yan Chaonian and Chao Jinfang.

The attendant turned around and trotted back to greet the clerk guarding the Jinfang, but the clerk was tight-lipped and refused to reveal a single word. He grabbed the attendant's sleeve and turned around to call the Jinfang guards, "It's him."

"It must be someone from another Jinfang who is trying to steal my girlfriend. It seems like he is determined not to give up."

Master Yan is a brocade weaving expert whom Chaojinfang had hired at great expense. There are many people who want to poach him, and none of them are good people.

The guard beat the follower without saying a word, and threatened to break his legs if he dared to ask again, "Don't you see who is behind our Jinfang? Get lost!"

The follower rolled and crawled, thinking that the people in the southwest were indeed fierce and uncivilized. He just asked about it, "If you don't want to tell me, then don't tell me. Why are you hitting me?"

But the master would not let him go if he failed to complete the task, so he could only limp to other places to inquire. Fortunately, after working hard for half a day and spending a lot of money, he finally got a result.

"She is a master who was hired by Chaojinfang to teach the weavers. I heard that she has superb weaving skills. Other weaving workshops also wanted to hire her, but she refused. I don't know where she lives."

"The owner of Chaojinfang didn't go to Jinfang today. People in Jinfang said that she rarely goes there. All matters in Jinfang are handled by two managers. Almost every month, someone goes to inquire about the owner's identity. Other Jinfangs have tried, but they all failed. It is said that the backstage is unfathomable."

"Unfathomable?"

Jiang Wencheng seemed to be thinking about something. Since it was difficult to get information about the abbot, there must be someone hiding it for her. As for Yan, he was really surprised.

I think the weaver lady at Chaojinfang knows a lot about the place, so I could put some effort into her.

Thinking again about Yan's attitude today, a hint of sarcasm appeared on the corners of his lips. No wonder she dared to talk to him like that. It turned out that she had a skill and could earn money to eat. However, no matter how skilled a weaver was, she was still just a weaver, whose status was lower than that of a merchant. It was even more unbearable to look at Yan without a glamorous status.

"Go and investigate Yan thoroughly. It would be best if you could find out everything about her in the past three years, especially where she lives."

The follower was bitter and could only accept his fate and go to investigate.

Jiang Wencheng started thinking about Yan Chaonian again. He didn't expect that after not seeing her for three years, she had grown sharp teeth. He had to grind them off before going back.

The sky gradually darkened, and the birds returned to their nests. Yan Chaonian was bathing her baby son. The mother and son were laughing happily. Yan's mother came to see her and turned to go to the gate. Li Xia was waiting stealthily in the corner. Seeing Yan's mother coming, she hurried forward and said, "Sister, is this okay?" "What's wrong with that? Niannian is busy enough. Don't let her know about this little thing. I will try my best to keep her at home these days. You can handle the things outside, but you must be cautious."

"Don't worry, sister. I have experience and this isn't the first time."

Today, the guards of Jinfang came to him to report after beating up the person who was asking for information. After asking around, he guessed that it was that bastard from the Jiang family. He hadn't even gone to the door yet, but that bastard had been keeping an eye on Nian Nian. If he continued to investigate like this, he might find out something. He should teach him a lesson.

"Just keep in mind what you are doing and don't get yourself into trouble. Go ahead, don't hold back."

Mother Yan was burning with anger. She had already said that she would make that bastard suffer the consequences.

As soon as Li Xia left, she turned around and smiled again. Her grandson was the cutest after taking a bath, and she also wanted to help him take a bath.

It was a dark and windy night. At midnight, a masked thief took advantage of the cover of darkness to sneak up to the second floor of Dingxing Inn. After a burst of smoke, the person in the room fell unconscious within half an incense stick. The thief sneaked into the room, lit a candle and started to rummage through the drawers. After a while, he found a lot. Before extinguishing the candle, he saw the person on the bed sleeping like a dead pig. He walked up to him and lifted the quilt, searched him, and finally left a sentence "I'll freeze you to death" and left in a cool manner.

Then he repeated the same thing, climbing over the wall with bags and packages, and quickly disappeared into the night.

The next morning, Jiang Wencheng was woken up by the cold and had a splitting headache. He was a little suspicious when he found that the quilt was not covering him. He wondered when he had become a person who slept in an irregular manner. He pulled the quilt over himself and lay down again, but he felt colder and colder. His attendant came upstairs to bring him hot water, and he felt better after the warm water entered his throat.

The attendant prepared the clothes he was going to wear today. He was startled when he opened the cabinet, rubbed his eyes and confirmed again, "The clothes are gone?"

The cupboard was spotless, not a piece of cloth was left behind.

The attendant secretly cried out that something was wrong and hurriedly searched the house. Jiang Wencheng also found something wrong. The jade ring he had always worn on his thumb was gone, and the jade pendant he had placed next to his pillow before going to bed was also missing. The attendant cried, "Master, we've been robbed."

“Father, father.”

Jiang Chongyuan rushed in wearing only his inner clothes, "Father, my clothes are gone, and there is nothing left in the room."

He was only left with books, writing brushes, ink, paper and inkstone. What kind of thief was this? Why didn't he steal all these as well?

"Young Master, my place has been robbed, and I have nothing left."

The followers are about to cry. The emperor is far away and everything has been stolen. What should they do next?
Jiang Wencheng was furious. "Go to the government office and ask the officials there to come see me. Go quickly."

"oh oh."

The attendant hurriedly ran out to call for help. Jiang Wencheng endured the discomfort all over his body and asked someone to call the innkeeper. The inn should take full responsibility for the theft.

The innkeeper came very quickly. Being experienced, he chose to report to the police immediately, comforted Jiang Wencheng, helped him to find a doctor, and brought some porridge and side dishes. He said that as the innkeeper he was very sorry for their theft, but there were only a few small things he could do. As for the rest, he would cooperate with the government and try to find the thief as soon as possible. There was nothing else he could do.

You wish to ask him to compensate you.
