Chapter 57: Senior Watanabe

Yuan Yuzi was so frightened that she couldn't hold the gun firmly and almost dropped it from her hand.

The gunshot came from outside. She pushed the door open in panic and met Fushimi Kaka's eyes. Fushimi Kakaka asked, "Did you shoot?"

"How is it possible! Senior Fengjian didn't even fire a bullet!" She said anxiously, "Something must have happened. There was a shooting on the street!"

"Oh."

Fushimi Shika shrank back and was about to close the door when Gen Tamaki flew over and stuck her foot in to block the door: "Don't run away! As a patrol officer, how can you just ignore a shooting?!"

"It's not time to go to work yet..."

"Patrol police are on call 24 hours a day! Once a case occurs, they have to respond even if they are not on duty!" said Gen Yuzi, reaching out to grab Fushimi Shika.

The latter had already changed into pajamas with sheep patterns all over them and was about to take a nice nap when he was interrupted by the gunshot. He was in a particularly bad mood: "Senior Kazama didn't even say we were going to send police, why are you in such a hurry? Besides, there are no bullets in our guns, so wouldn't it be suicide if we went out? It's only 150,000 yen a month, and you want me to go out on the street and fight with criminals with bare hands?"

Gen Yuzi calmed down and felt that what Fushimi Shika said made sense, but at the same time she felt that she couldn't just ignore the shooting on the street. After a struggle, she ran downstairs, woke up Kazama-senpai, and asked him what to do in such a situation.

"You stand at the front desk. If someone reports a crime, you will handle it accordingly. You should have learned the specific procedures in the police academy. If no one reports a crime, you will go upstairs and rest. Every night patrol requires an all-nighter, so I suggest you get more sleep during the day."

After saying this, Takusai Kazama put on his eye mask again and lay back on the recliner.

Huh? No police? Is it so reckless?

Yuan Yuzi always felt that something was wrong. The patrol job seemed different from what she had imagined.

She stood at the front desk, looking at the closed door, wondering how anyone could come to report the crime if the door was closed. What if the victim climbed up the steps dying and found that the door was closed? How desperate would that be?
Thinking of this, Yuan Yuzi took the key hanging on the wall and pushed open the locked door.

Snap, a hand grabbed her ankle.

Yuan Yuzi was startled and got goose bumps all over her body. She looked down and saw a man lying on the ground, with a net covering his head and a wrinkled windbreaker on his body.

"Sir, please, please, do you need any help?" Her teeth were chattering as she spoke, for fear that the first person who reported the case would die in front of her.

"Huh?" The man raised his head and looked up at Yuan Yuzi. He thought he saw an angel after death. Then he noticed that Yuan Yuzi was wearing a police uniform. Then he realized: "Ah! You are the new junior?!"

Yuan Yuzi also recognized the other person, the one lying on the ground was Watanabe Shun. The two introduced themselves to each other, and Yuan Yuzi saluted like a soldier: "I am very sorry to leave you at the airport! I am the new patrol officer Yuan Yuzi, please give me your guidance!"

Watanabe Shun's vanity as a senior was aroused, and suddenly his waist and legs no longer felt sore. He flipped over from the ground, casually tore off the hairnet on his head, took out hair gel from his pocket, and quickly tied up his messy hair into a crew cut.

"Yo! It's just a minor injury, it's nothing serious! Don't look at me like this, I'm quite tough! I heard that you solved the murder case at the airport? You did a great job! When I came back, I heard the detectives at the police station talking about the new patrolman!"

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard Takusai Kazama's scolding voice from the office: "Shut up! You're so noisy! I asked you to pick up the new people, but they came back before you, and you still have the nerve to yell here? Go back to the dormitory and write a three-page self-criticism!"

"Uh, Boss, please give me some face in front of the newcomers..."

"roll!"

"Okay." Watanabe Shun went upstairs happily, and when he passed by the second floor, he did not forget to knock on Fushimi Kakashi's door, intending to say hello to another junior. However, after knocking for a long time, there was no response, probably because he was asleep, so he had to go back to his dormitory in disappointment.

There was a reason why Fushimi Shika didn't respond. He was leaning against the window, looking out, intending to watch the fun. It would be great if there were shootings on the street every day, so that he could watch gang shootouts without leaving his house - this was his original intention of becoming a patrolman!

He only does three things when he comes to the job: slacking off, eating melons, and stealing salary!
Unfortunately, he looked around for a long time and there was no one on the road. He estimated that the gunshots came from the residential building. A few crows landed on the telephone poles, and it seemed that they were used to the occasional gunshots.

"Tsk, boring."

Fushimi Ka closed the window, wondering whether he should take the time to collect some shells and reload a few bullets for self-defense. After all, it is very troublesome for a patrolman to fire a gun. He must apply for bullets in advance, file a report and complete the formalities afterwards to explain the necessity of firing the gun... It is better to roll a few bullets by himself and then decide whether to use public bullets according to the situation.

Well, being a patrolman is just like doing business, so how can there be no secrets?
There was no time to lose, so he did what he said. He changed out of his pajamas and went to the fireworks store and hardware store under the pretext of going out to buy daily necessities. He didn't buy anything, but just took a quick look. It wouldn't be too late to buy materials when he picked up a usable shell on duty one day.

By the time he returned to Jiaoban with a bunch of toiletries, dusk had passed and the streets were dim and blue.

Lights began to light up in the windows of the residential buildings. Some were cold white, some were warm yellow, with a few purple and red lights in between. You could tell what was going on inside without having to think.

The daily duty starts at 6pm, and in the summer it will be later, starting at 7pm or 8pm, and lasts until 6am the next morning. In other words, you have to work 12 hours a day, and any time beyond 8 hours is considered overtime, with additional overtime pay and night allowance.

It is also because of this that the actual salary of the Sugamo patrolman is about three times that of other patrolmen. The basic salary is 150,000, and after adding up all the other miscellaneous items, after deducting the insurance premiums, there is an additional 400,000, not to mention other welfare subsidies.

550,000 yen a month is equivalent to the income of a small middle-class family.

But there is a reason why it is expensive. Just look at Takuya Kazama's appearance and you will know that he is making money by risking his life.

Before they were demoted, the director had already given up and planned to slack off and steal her salary. But Takuya Kazama was too responsible and was forced to back down because of her leadership.

After the four of them finished their lunch boxes bought from the convenience store, they prepared to start their work.

"Today is the first day. You should act together and familiarize yourself with the area. Don't rush into any emergencies. Protect yourself first. If you can't handle it, call for reinforcements. Don't try to be tough just to save face..."

After Fengjian Takusai gave some instructions, Ton Ton Ton drank a bottle of energy potion, and his face flushed: "Do you understand everything?"

"Yes!"

Gen Tamako and Fushimi Kaka responded at the same time, the former full of energy and the latter listless.

There was no special ceremony or inspiring speech, and the patrolmen on duty in front of Sugamo Station just began their daily patrol.

Kazama Takusai looked at the backs of the two juniors leaving, was silent for a moment, and suddenly said: "Watanabe, you follow them, if anything happens, don't let them die."

Watanabe Shun was surprised and asked, "Eh? Boss, can you handle that?"

"Stop blabbering and go quickly!"

"okay."
