Chapter 10 Production Completed
In the evening, the crew had a dinner party, which was considered a wrap-up party. All the staff were there, and most of the actors who were still in Beijing came. Cao Yang was also very happy and drank some wine.

After dinner, the crew had not yet checked out of the hotel room they rented, and Cao Yang didn’t want to go back to school, so he stayed in the hotel.

Not long after I finished washing up, I heard a knock on the door.

Cao Yang opened the door and Li Xiaoran was outside.

Before he could say anything, Li Xiaoran squeezed in naturally.

Seeing Cao Yang still standing at the door stupidly, Li Xiaoran said nervously: "Close the door quickly, this is the capital, don't let her find out."

"Ok?"

Cao Yang's mind was full of question marks. Is this still in the play, or has the movie been brought into reality?

"Xiao Ran, listen to me..."

"Don't say anything. I can tell clearly that you are Cao Yang from Beijing Film Academy...but you are also the Cao Yang that I think about day and night."

Li Xiaoran hugged Cao Yang and looked at him tenderly.

"Cao Yang, I miss you every day and every night when I am abroad. Why don't you come to see me? Are you a coward? So what if you are banned? We can live well in that small town, watch the sea together, walk on the beach together, and grow old together..."

After saying that, she opened her mouth and bit Cao Yang's shoulder hard, not letting go for more than twenty seconds.

"I love you so much and miss you so much, why don't you come to see me? Do you know how difficult it was for me when I was abroad?"

Cao Yang screamed when he was bitten and gasped. He was probably bleeding.

But he didn't move. He just sighed, stretched out his hands, paused for a moment, slowly hugged Li Xiaoran, and said softly: "It's all my fault. I'm too cowardly. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I just don't have the courage to face reality. I'm sorry."

After hearing what Cao Yang said, Li Xiaoran's suppressed emotions seemed to find a breakthrough and she burst into tears.

"You bastard, you bastard, you are just an irresponsible coward, wuwuwu..."

Cao Yang patted Li Xiaoran's back gently, "Yes, I'm a bastard, I'm a coward, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

"Woooooooo..."

Li Xiaoran hugged Cao Yang and cried for a long time, until her voice gradually weakened and there was no more crying, only occasional sobbing.

Cao Yang hugged her and patted her back until he found that she had fallen asleep.

He sighed softly. This damn immersive experience was really fucking harmful to him. He would never use it when he was mentally vulnerable.

Cao Yang hesitated for a moment, but still gently picked up Li Xiaoran, put her on the bed and covered her with a quilt.

Just as she was about to leave, Li Xiaoran frowned in her dream and murmured softly, "Cao Yang, don't go, don't leave me..."

Damn Dogecoin system!
Cao Yang squatted at the head of the bed and said very softly, "I won't leave. Go to sleep. Sleep well. I won't leave."

When it was dawn, Li Xiaoran opened her eyes and saw Cao Yang sleeping on the head of the bed.

There was a moment of confusion on her face, followed by a look of surprise, and then she frowned again.

After hesitating for a moment, she gently pushed Cao Yang. When Cao Yang opened his eyes, Li Xiaoran whispered, "Thank you, Director Cao."

Without waiting for Cao Yang to answer, she continued: "I know I can't come out of it. I've been feeling depressed and I need to vent... Thank you for last night." "It's all my fault. I didn't mean to..." Cao Yang thought for a moment and said, "I remember there is a teacher in the school who specializes in emotional counseling for actors. I'll take you to her later."

"No need, please contact me and I'll go by myself. I can't see you during this period of time. I'm afraid I can't control myself..."

Cao Yang nodded and said, "I'll let Lao Tian take you there. He has a much bigger reputation than me, so it would be better if he came forward."

……

After returning to school, Cao Yang went to Teacher Situ's office and told him about the completion of the filming. Teacher Situ was knowledgeable and asked him about the problem of getting into the role.

Teacher Situ said that it is normal for actors to get into the role, especially those actors who have never learned acting and have not learned any methods, who are more likely to be trapped in the role and unable to get out.

Emotions are difficult to control, and there is no particularly good or quick way to get out of it. You can only relax, walk more, try not to be emotionally moved by the past, do happy things, and you will slowly recover.

After bidding farewell to Teacher Situ, Cao Yang went to Qingying Studio. The school had promised to provide all the help except the film, and the post-production editing and music composition were left to Qingying Studio.

This movie was shot mostly in sequence, has few scenes, and has a lot of long shots, so editing is very simple.

Especially with the help of Li Xiaoran "Li Yitiao", there were very few re-shoots and the film loss ratio was as low as 3:1, which can be said to be quite economical.

Just make a comparison and you will know. The big names in the industry generally have a split of around 4:1, most directors have a split of around 6:1, Jiang Wen can basically get a split of 25:1 for every movie, and Wang Jiawei can even make the investors go bankrupt.

In terms of music, Cao Yang decided to choose Schubert's String Quintet in C major, Opus 956, second movement Adagio.

This version of the performance is more soothing. This treatment makes this string five adagio very warm, the picture is very comfortable to watch, and it can also slightly alleviate the depression brought by the heroine in the play.

After making an appointment in the editing room, Cao Yang went there early in the morning, wanting to quickly cut the film and see the effect.

He did not look for an editor from Qingying Studio. Instead, the school forced several students from the editing major of the directing department to help, mainly to complete teaching practice.

But this made Cao Yang's work a lot easier.

Some directors like to cut a rough film of four or five hours first, then talk to the editor about their ideas and what they want to express, and then let the editor make the fine cut.

The main reason is that after the rough cut, the director couldn't bear to make any changes. He wanted to keep this shot, and that shot was very meaningful and he also wanted to keep it...

The director treats every shot as a child. He feels that every shot has a special meaning, and they are all good, and he doesn't want to cut them out.

This is when a trustworthy editor comes into play, snap, snap, snap, and save a finished film of about 100 minutes.

Then find professionals to do the dubbing, music and color matching, and the movie is ready.

Of course, the process is not always smooth, and many editors will end up arguing with the director.

The most important part of this is submitting it for review. If it fails the review, you have to consider what the problem is, then find out the problem, cut it out, and perhaps even find some of the waste footage and cut it into the film to make the plot coherent.

Cao Yang does not have these worries for the time being, mainly because the plot of "Alone on the Beach at Night" is too simple, with few characters, few scenes, and even fewer shots. When shooting, he knew what kind of shots he wanted, so the editing was extremely clean and efficient.

I didn't follow other directors and make two versions, one for review and one for film festivals.

As for the movie shot by Cao Yang, if we have to find the most explicit shot, it is the scene where the heroine smokes. The other shots have no impact on the review at all.

"Done. Now let's give the school teachers a little shock."
