Warhammer: Emperor's Ravenbringer

Chapter 9: The First Legion's First Battle

Chapter 9: The First Legion's First Battle

"Luna will be our last battle, and the Thunder Warriors will never break their oath."

Wu Xiaotan gripped the broadsword tightly.

He looked up at the battlefield in the distance.

Muttering to myself in my heart.

He had already anticipated such an outcome.

He had heard some news before.

The Emperor creates new warriors in his secret laboratories in the Himalayas.

They will replace the unstable Thunder Warriors and become the main force of the Great Crusade.

He once had fantasy, but now this pitiful fantasy has been shattered by the ruthless reality.

"For unity."

"For unity."

The roars of other Thunder Warriors echoed over the communication.

Ushotan shook the thought from his head.

He led his guards and quickly advanced under the cover of smoke and violent explosions, killing their way to the enemy's next line of defense.

The roar of artillery fire hit the ground, creating a scorched earth all over the sky.

The huge battlefield was filled with gunfire and bullets, and the torrent of bullets formed into iron snakes and rolled into the air.

The straight energy beams flashed by in an instant, and the dense bombs were like a hailstorm that covered the sky.

Fighter planes flew through the air, stirring up the slowly rising clouds of smoke.

Numerous war machines and infantry clusters formed an unstoppable wave and swept forward.

And the Thunder Warriors are the crest of this destructive wave.

Thousands of warriors in bronze armor rushed to the front, tearing apart the monsters released by the Genetic Cult and destroying the artillery and shield generators along the way.

The Thunder Warriors let go of the rationality that restrained their tyrannical nature.

They embraced eternal rage and unleashed their fury in this war.

One melee after another broke out, bloody and brutal.

The Thunder Warriors launched an attack on the Gene Cult with the most violent attitude, destroying one line of defense after another.

When they reached the last line of defense, the Gene Cult released even more terrifying monsters.

It was a horrific killing weapon that could only be conceived by a mad artist.

It is huge in size, a mixture of machinery and flesh, and looks ferocious and terrifying.

Vizuela fell in the fight.

The horrible monsters cut through his armor with their sharp claws.

When Ushotan killed the enemies who blocked his way and found Vizula, he was leaning against the ruined wall.

One hand was tightly covering the abdomen to prevent the contents from leaking out.

“Brother.” Ushotan knelt beside Vizula and called him.

Vizula opened her eyes and smiled.

"Sorry, I have to go first."

"You know, I've always wondered one thing, did he ever care about us? Or did he just treat us as tools from the beginning to the end?"

Wu Xiaotan fell silent. He couldn't answer this question.

The Emperor had fought alongside them and had described to them the glorious future that would come after unification.

And now, it is He who chooses to give up on them.

"Never mind. It doesn't matter."

Vizula grinned in relief.

He exhaled his last trembling breath.

Then, it was all over.

He closed his eyes forever.

Vizula once questioned the Emperor and accused him of betraying the Thunder Warriors.

However, he ultimately died for the Emperor.

Roar!
A terrifying sound sounded.

The monsters released by the Genetic Cult surrounded the Thunder Warriors.

The surviving guards formed a battle circle with Ushotan as the center.

Wu Xiaotan stood up, tightly gripping the broadsword in his hand, and the leaping arc of electricity wrapped around the heavy sword body.

He felt very heavy.

As the leader of the legion, he was well aware of the harm that the loss of control of the Thunder Warriors would cause to the empire.

From the perspective of the rulers, giving up on them is a wise decision.

But Ushotan's emotions still could not accept that the Emperor would abandon them.

"For unity."

Wu Xiaotan roared, venting his anger at those monsters.

He rushed into the enemy like a mad beast.

The guards followed him in the charge.

The genetic monster made of flesh, blood and machinery also pounced on them.

It attacks using its claws and its spiked tail.

A brutal melee broke out.

Monsters were constantly being hunted, and the guards around Wu Xiaotan kept falling.

In the end, he was the only one left.

Blood stained his robe and armor, and the sword in his hand was dripping with blood.

Only a few of the strongest monsters were left.

They have eight spider-like mechanical legs covered with thick steel carapace.

Its densely packed eyes glow red, and it possesses sharp limbs that are comparable to power weapons.

"Come on, beasts."

Ushotan yelled.

The monsters made rustling sounds as they moved.

As they pounced upon him, Ushotan let go of the last of his sanity.

Consumed by rage, he fell into memories.

He saw the battle on the Antarctic plains.

Atomic weapons rained down from the sky.

Led by the Emperor, they launched an attack on the enemy. Then, he arrived at Mount Yarara and saw his fallen comrades raising the lightning flag and roaring.

"Unite."

"Unite."

Wu Xiaotan was lost in his illusory memories.

Can't tell which one is real and which one is fake.

Only the desire for victory and honor prompted him to continue swinging his weapon and killing all living things around him.

This is the biggest drawback of the Thunder Warriors. They are deeply trapped in the memories of war and cannot distinguish between reality and dreams.

Many innocent people died as a result.

But now, Wu Xiaotan was the only one on the battlefield, and he could vent his anger to his heart's content.

He was deeply trapped in a dream, fighting madly with those terrible monsters.

When the last monster's head was chopped off and it fell to the ground, Wu Xiaotan was already at the end of his strength and knelt down powerlessly.

At this time, his armor was broken and his robe was stained with blood.

The battle left him seriously injured.

Even the best doctors can't save the patient.

The roar of the engine sounded.

Transport boats rained down upon the ground.

With the hiss of high-pressure gas, the hatch slowly opened.

Soldiers in grey armor marched out in unison. They stood in the snow, silent and like sculptures.

Their breastplates have the letter "I" on them, and the right shoulder armor has the image of a winged sword printed on it.

These guys are the embodiment of destruction, shaped into human form and given terrible and powerful weapons.

Wu Xiaotan raised his head and looked at the gray-armored warriors.

He knew that this should be the new warrior created by the Emperor to replace the Thunder Warrior.

They are as big as Thunder Warriors, and far more deadly.

A golden shuttle landed next to Ushotan.

A golden figure walked out of the shuttle cabin.

The one coming was the Emperor.

He walked up to Wu Xiaotan, put his hand on his shoulder, and looked at him meaningfully.

"Do you care about us?" Wu Xiaotan raised his head and looked at the person he was loyal to. His life force was fading quickly. "Or are we just tools from the beginning to the end?"

"No," said the Emperor. "You are heroes of the Imperium of Man, not tools."

"It's just that you are not suitable for the Great Crusade, and you can't retire and return to civilian life. You were born for war, and ending up in war may be the best ending."

"The Empire will always remember the sacrifices you made, and every citizen of the Empire will know the achievements and glory of the Thunder Warriors in the past."

Hearing the Emperor's promise, Ushotan smiled and shouted out his oath for the last time.

"For unity."

As he finished speaking, he took his last breath.

"Gather their bodies and build a monument in Luna after the war. We want the people of the empire to always remember that the Thunder Warriors are the heroes of the empire."

The emperor gave instructions to his entourage.

"This can be considered a good ending. At least they did not die at the hands of the Imperial Guards and the First Legion."

The raven standing on the emperor's shoulder looked at the dead Ushotan and sighed.

The power of origin also continued to flow into his body.

His talent is to change the predetermined fate of the universe and devour the overflowing original power.

Changing the Super God Universe can gain the original power.

With the changes in the Warhammer universe, one can naturally gain the power of origin.

After dealing with the matter of Ushotan, the Emperor turned to look at the last line of defense controlled by the Gene Cult.

Numerous turrets, endless bunkers, cross-deployed heavy firepower, indestructible shields, and many hideous monsters made of machines and flesh and blood formed an indestructible line of defense.

The Thunder Warriors who unified Terra were also unable to break through it, and instead crashed headfirst into the defense line, bringing an end to their honorable life.

"Leave Luna, tyrant, and stop causing unnecessary casualties."

A female voice came.

The projection of the Gene Witch appeared before the Emperor.

"Your resistance is foolish," said the Emperor. "The rise of Mankind is unstoppable. Join us or perish."

"You are too arrogant, tyrant. If you insist on having your own way, then this new empire is doomed to shed its last drop of blood in Luna, activate the celestial weapon, and let the ice and snow fall."

The moon was the first extraterrestrial world visited by humans.

To change the cold environment, the former residents built atmospheric controllers.

These cutting-edge creations are meant to improve human life.

But now it is used as a weapon by the genetic witches to fight against the new empire created by the Emperor.

Accompanied by beams of light shooting into the sky where the air is thin.

The temperature around dropped suddenly and snowflakes were flying all over the sky.

"If you continue to fight, you will only destroy yourself. We still have enough cards to fight against you."

The Gene-Witch looked at the Emperor and threatened.

"You should feel honored by this." The Emperor stretched out his hand, and a snowflake fell on his hand and melted in an instant.

"You will witness their first actual combat."

"Attack, and kill all who resist."

The moment the Emperor's order was issued, the helmet visors of the gray-armored warriors lit up.

They marched forward in neat steps, launching a new round of killing.

"Astartes?? The First Legion?"

Raven identified the gray-armored warriors.

They are the Emperor's Angels of Death.

The human empire's trump card to conquer the galaxy.

Luna's fall is inevitable.

I hope everyone can move their little fingers and turn to the last page every day to increase their reading.

Reading is the most important thing, my dears.

Without follow-up reading, there is no recommendation, and without recommendation, it means it is a failure.

  I beg you brothers.
