Warhammer: Emperor's Ravenbringer

Chapter 147 Horus: Raven is the one who loves me the most

"No! You guys stand back."

The old man screamed and rushed over at a faster speed.

A roar sounded.

The old man's chest was sunken, filled with blood, and charred silk and broken flesh were splattered.

He staggered a few times, his tattered purple robe began to catch fire, and his remains fell to the shiny floor.

The bright red blood flowed, soon dyeing the ground red.

Loken showed a look of sorrow.

Things didn't have to develop to this point.

"Has the false emperor been killed?" Abaddon shouted.

"No! That's not the Emperor." Loken shook his head and walked quickly towards the throne.

The almost perfect blurred outline on the throne retreated hastily, and the seemingly perfect disguise was exposed by the slightly abnormal shadows around it.

The "Emperor" hid in the dimensional space, intending to use himself as bait to create a trap and deceive the Primarch.

The throne trembled and erupted with a shock wave, strong and rapid.

It exploded like a violent storm, blowing away all the Astartes warriors in the throne room and then smashing them to the ground.

boom!
A shocking explosion sounded.

Loabathon raised his gun and shot at the throne.

The antimatter bomb landed in the center of the storm, causing an explosion that wiped out everything.

The terrifying energy storm slowly dissipated, and debris poured onto the ground.

The noble throne was reduced to smoking wreckage, and the mysterious mechanism hidden within it was completely ineffective.

A charred corpse sat amidst the pile of twisted metal and broken parts.

Only the bony arms remained, still grasping the armrests of the throne.

"You killed the false emperor." Loken, who was suppressed by the storm, stood up and looked at Abaddon.

"Yes." Abaddon nodded, "For the sake of humanity, I killed the Emperor with my own hands."

"What a dark joke." Locke shrugged.

The campaign to destroy the empire was going very smoothly.

When the recorders set foot on the surface of the planet, the resistance forces had been basically wiped out.

They record the exploits of the Astartes.

And witnessed the entire process of the fake empire being divided and dismembered.

Many local dignitaries were purged.

The wealth accumulated over thousands of years benefited the empire.

A huge amount of property and materials were looted by the Imperial Law Enforcement Team.

Part of it was distributed to the local people, and part of it was taken by the expeditionary force.

This profit distribution model has been verified in many battles of the Great Crusade. It can effectively win over the hearts of the people and replenish the consumption of the expeditionary force.

Most of the people did not care about the overthrown rulers.

Just throw a portion of the property that originally belonged to the powerful to them.

They will then recognize the empire's rule and begin to maintain it spontaneously.

As the official chronicler, Mesati Oriton had the opportunity to interview the hero of this battle - Gavial Loken.

At the training ground of the Spirit of Vengeance, Mesati, who came for an interview, learned the ins and outs of the entire battle from Locke.

"So Abaddon killed the Emperor?" Mesati repeated the rebellious metaphor.

"Yes." Locke nodded.

Mesati was about to continue.

The space suddenly became distorted.

A raven appeared out of nowhere and landed in front of Loken.

"That's a very unpopular metaphor, you two."

The appearance of the raven made Mesati and Locke show a hint of panic.

The raven is of extremely noble status.

He is one of the supreme rulers of the empire.

If the other party gets angry because of the words "Abaddon killed the Emperor," a group of people will suffer the consequences.

"If we say that Horus killed the Emperor, it might attract more attention." Raven added dimly.

"Mr. Raven."

Mesati and Locke saluted, not daring to respond to such words.

"Don't be so nervous, I'm just joking." Raven said, "This kind of harmless metaphor will not bring any trouble."

The raven looked at Mesadi and Lorcan.

These two guys have a predetermined destiny and are tragic characters throughout the entire Horus Heresy.

Mesati was good friends with Hindman, the creator of the future Inquisition, and Qile, the living saint.

They witnessed the rise of Horus, his fall at Davin, and Horus's purge of the loyalists at the Battle of Isstvan.

Eventually, they were saved by Cruze, Captain of the Luna Wolves' 3rd Company, and escaped from Isstvan.

Later, Mesati was imprisoned on Titan, during which time he met Loken several times.

Loken wanted to take her away from the Titan prison.

But Mesati knew that it was the intention of the Magic Pattern Regent, Malcador, to imprison her, so she refused Locke.

At the end of the Horus Heresy, on the eve of the Traitors' arrival in the Sol System.

Mesati was frequently pulled into Qile's dreams and was repeatedly instructed by her to deliver a message to Rog Dorn of Terra.

The rebels invaded the solar system and the purge protocol was activated. All prisoners were to be executed to prevent them from falling into the hands of the traitors. Mesati was also among those to be purged.

But Loken received her urgent distress message, arrived in time to rescue her, and took her to the Phalanx to meet Dorn.

However, all this is Chaos' conspiracy.

The Qile that entered Lamesati's dream was fake.

Samus used her as an anchor to wreak havoc on the Phalanx.

Ultimately, in order to stop Samus, Mesadi chose to jump into the Phalanx's reactor.

"I know you have a story name, and I want to remember it for posterity."

"Which story?"

"Horus slew the Emperor."

This was the conversation Mesati had when she met Locke, and it was also the last memory that emerged when she jumped into the reactor.

It begins, ends, and ultimately forms a tragic closed loop.

There is another thing that is even more humorous in this story.

Samus is a demon born from Loken's death.

The final battle of the Siege of Terra.

The Emperor versus Horus.

Loken witnessed the Emperor slaying Horus, and chose to stand guard over the dead Horus.

As Abaddon returned to the Vengeful Spirit, Loken and the First Captain had one final argument.

Loken hoped that Abaddon would surrender with the remaining members of the XVI Legion.

Eventually, he was ambushed by Erebus, who killed him from behind with a cursed dagger.

Thus, Samus, the demon throughout the history of the Horus Heresy, was born.

The raven was being friendly.

But the huge gap in status still made Mesati and Locke feel very nervous.

They informed the entire legion of the raven's arrival.

After a while, Horus arrived with the Council of Four Kings and many high-ranking members of the expeditionary force.

"Little bald head." The raven landed on Horus' shoulder and rubbed the Primarch's face affectionately.

"Mr. Raven."

"Mr. Raven." The members of the Council of Four Kings, Abaddon, Torgaddon, Cyjanus, and Aximander all smiled happily and saluted Raven.

"Mr. Raven." Horus turned to look at Abaddon, "Please bring me the gift I prepared for Mr. Raven."

"Okay." Abaddon nodded and turned to leave.

"I heard that you eliminated the false emperor?"

Raven's words made everyone present look at each other in confusion.

Some things might be fine if they were said in private, but if the raven heard them, the meaning would be different.

"Mr. Raven, this is just a joke." Horus said, "I don't mean any disrespect."

"No, I'm not blaming you. I'm just curious. It sounds like a good story." Raven said, "You don't have to be so nervous. Big Guy and I don't take our authority seriously."

"According to the current rate of development of the empire, the territory will expand to other galaxies and universes in the next few hundred years."

"The larger the territory you rule, the lower your efficiency will be. In the end, you will inevitably move towards an alliance model. By then, you will all have to rule the universe you have conquered."

Raven's words made many high-ranking members of the expeditionary force open their eyes wide.

This news is extremely explosive.

This is equivalent to acknowledging that the original body will become independent in the future.

Mesati quietly activated the perfect memory device in his skull.

This is precious first-hand information.

Even if it cannot be published now, it can still serve as important historical material in the future.

"Mr. Raven, be careful with your words. You can't spread these things around." Horus advised Raven and then turned to look at the others. "You are not allowed to reveal a single word of today's conversation, otherwise you will be subject to military law."

"I didn't tell anyone about it. I'm just telling you now."

Raven's words made Horus' mouth curl up, and he couldn't hide his joy in his heart.

See, I am still the most favored one.

Raven told him such confidential information.

Ryan, what do you have to argue with me?

Abaddon and his men brought over the French fries and ketchup that the 16th Legion had collected during this period.

There are all kinds of flavors.

The raven smiled with satisfaction when he saw it.

It seems that Horus still has a strong desire to improve.

The child is teachable. The child is teachable.

Raven came to the 16th Legion just to visit and did not have any specific mission.

After Horus ordered someone to deliver the fries, he took Raven to the strategy room and asked him to participate in the discussion of the next military action.

With the fall of the false emperor and the collapse of this ancient centralized government, the resistance forces lost their scale and became a group of roving rioters.

They hid in the Whispering Mountains and used the complex terrain to resist the rule of the Empire.

In order to consolidate the rule of the empire, Horus decided to send Loken to annihilate it.

Locke, who had been implanted with a third-generation gene engine, also urgently needed merit to prove that he was qualified to command such a powerful force.

He gladly accepted the task.

Take the soldiers of the 10th Company on a transport boat to the Whispering Mountains.

When they reached the top of the mountain, they jumped off the transport craft and crashed to the ground like meteorites.

There is a huge gap between the rich and the poor on this planet.

The Supreme City where the "Emperor" is located retains most of the technology from the Golden Age, including all kinds of flying objects and hovercrafts.

In remote areas, people still maintain a simple lifestyle.

In those remote villages and towns, many ignorant civilians have been immersed in a cultural environment full of legends and superstitions since birth.

So when they saw Astartes descending from the sky, they regarded it as the arrival of a god.

Locke landed on the ground and checked the battlefield situation map.

The geological structure of the entire Whispering Mountains was clearly displayed before him.

Those hidden secret passages and dark rooms are all clearly visible.

"Action, wipe out all the rebels." Loken ordered, "Give them the enlightenment of the Empire."

The order was given, and the members of the Tenth Company divided into small teams and entered the Whispering Mountains.

The battle quickly broke out at various passes and important roads.

The rebel group's firepower was extremely fierce.

But the fighting power of the 10th Company was amazing, and it easily broke through the fire blockade.

He used the explosives and chainswords in his hands to easily slaughter the rebels, leaving rivers of blood and corpses everywhere.

"Company commander."

The leader of the Poison Rose Squad, Zafeye Zhuber, spoke in the communication.

"What's wrong? Juber?" Locke replied.

"There's a weird sound." Zhu Bo sent a data packet over.

Loken clicked it open.

The voice was very hoarse, like a dry and hot desert wind.

"Samus, this is the only name you will hear, Samus, it represents the end and death. Samus, I am Samus. Samus is everywhere, Samus is the one next to you. Samus will chew your bones. Watch out! Samus is coming."

The sound gradually faded away and returned to dead silence.

"This sound has been echoing in our communication channels, and it's interfering with us," Zhu Bo explained. "It's causing some panic, and some people think there's something strange in this mountain range."

"It's nothing special." Loken said, "It's nothing more than the wizard's tricks. The Empire has the same countermeasures. Activate your mental barrier program to prevent possible mental attacks."

"Keep moving forward. As long as they are still living beings in the real universe, their flesh and blood will not be able to withstand a single explosive bomb."

"Understood." Zhu Bo responded.

Locke switched the tactical map, determined the enemy's position, then opened a space channel and took his tactical team to the designated location.

The space twisted and light burst out.

Locke and others rushed out along the space channel, holding grenade launchers.

Before the enemy could react, they were completely wiped out.

This battle was a massacre without any suspense.

The technological gap between the rebels and the Imperial Army is too great.

The Empire used space teleportation and cutting-edge individual force to completely crush the rebels.

Not to mention resisting, even escaping is impossible.

The battle lasted for more than twenty minutes.

The numerous fortresses and tunnels in the mountains were reduced to ruins emitting black smoke.

The cold remains of buildings lie in the desolate mountains.

The captain of the Poison Rose Squad, Zhu Bo, blocked the rebel leader, but the rebel was stubborn and unwilling to surrender. He even raised his gun to shoot Astartes, and was eventually wiped out.

"I curse you. One day, you will pay the price for your atrocities today."

The rebel leader died after cursing.

"You won't give up even if you die." Zhu Bo took off his helmet and spat at the other party.

Suddenly, a voice came, calling Zhu Bo.

Zhu Bo raised his head, looked around, and saw an ancient stone corridor.

It leads to the depths of the mountain, dark and deep.

The voice coming from inside was full of temptation, which made Zhu Bo subconsciously step over.

It was a cold, damp stone hall, with light streaming in from above.

There was a pool of clear water in the hall, and the walls on both sides of the pool were covered with strange symbols.

There are all kinds of unburned candles, copper coins, and even skulls by the pool, both human and animal.

Zhu Bo walked to the pool as if possessed by a ghost.

The clear pool water reflected his face, which looked like it was carved from marble.

After looking at himself in the pool for a while, Zhu Bo was about to turn around and leave when the "Zhu Bo" in the pool suddenly grinned.
