Chapter 115 Going to Pingnan Village
Lu Weifeng looked over in shock. He never expected the Hao family to be so shameless. His anger surged, but he couldn't vent his anger because of their past kindness.

Lu Yan'an was also stunned by the actions of this group, her face full of speechlessness.

Finally, Lu Weifeng sighed helplessly and compromised: "Fine, but this is the last thing. From now on, I, Lu Weifeng, will have no further connection with your Hao family."

Hao Dazhuang bit his lip. Although he was unwilling, he had no other choice but to find a place to stay.

"Okay!" he replied, forcing a smile.

After seeing the Hao family off, Lu Weifeng sat wearily on a bench nearby, as if all his strength had been drained away.

He looked at Lu Yan'an, who was standing to the side, her eyes red with anger, wanting to cry but holding back, and sighed helplessly.

"Yan An, go to the army and find your brother."

Lu Weifeng's voice carried a hint of expectation; he hoped his daughter could persuade his son to come back.

Upon hearing this, Lu Yan'an's eyes lit up instantly, and a glimmer of hope rekindled in her previously dim gaze.

She quickly wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, turned around, and ran towards the direction of the troops.

When Lu Yan'an arrived at the military base, Xia Zhi and Lu Beiting had just left the base to return home.

Lu Yan'an spotted the two people not far away at a glance, and her eyes instantly reddened again.

Lu Beiting looked at his younger sister, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes, but he finally called out, "Yan An, what brings you here?"

Upon hearing Lu Beiting's voice, Lu Yan'an could no longer hold back and burst into tears.

"Waaah, brother, please don't be angry anymore, okay? We know we were wrong." She cried with tears streaming down her face, her shoulders heaving, looking utterly pitiful.

Seeing that the two siblings had something to say, Xia Zhi decided to go back first.

She had only taken a few steps when Lu Beiting grabbed her hand. His hand was broad and warm, and he held Xia Zhi's hand tightly, as if afraid that she would leave.

"Let's go back together." Lu Beiting looked at Xia Zhi with tenderness in his eyes.

Lu Yan'an could only sob as she followed behind the two. Looking at her older brother, who had been in a wheelchair but was now completely healed, she felt both joy and sadness. Her expression was very complicated, alternating between laughter and tears.

"Brother, is your leg alright?" Lu Yan'an asked, her voice trembling with tears, her eyes filled with concern.

"Mm," Lu Beiting replied briefly, then remained silent, gazing tenderly at Xia Zhi beside him.

Lu Yan'an pursed her lips, looked at Xia Zhi beside her, and felt a surge of emotions.

She had heard before that she could cure her older brother, and it seems it's true.

She lowered her head, a hint of guilt on her face. In this respect alone, Xia Zhi was far better than Hao Liping, yet they had always looked down on her…

After returning home, Lu Beiting looked at Lu Yan'an, who was standing silently behind him, and said softly, "Speak, what is it?"

"Big brother, those people from the Hao family went to our house." After Lu Yan'an finished speaking, she quietly observed her older brother.

I noticed he didn't seem to have any particular emotion.

Lu Yan'an pursed her lips; it seemed her brother was still angry with them.

Lu Beiting frowned upon hearing this, but quickly relaxed and said, "Oh."

Hearing Lu Yan'an's words, Xia Zhi raised an eyebrow. She had guessed that these shameless people would go to the Lu family.

After all, they can still use moral blackmail.

"But brother, Dad said this is the last time we'll help them. From now on, the Hao family and our family will have nothing to do with each other."

Lu Yan'an tugged at his sleeve as she spoke, "Brother, don't be angry. We've realized our mistakes after we got back, and we definitely won't bother you and your wife anymore."

Lu Yan'an stole a glance at Xia Zhi.

"Hmm, is this all you came here to say?" A hint of helplessness flashed in Lu Beiting's eyes.

Xia Zhi propped her head up and looked at Lu Yan'an, who looked about fifteen or sixteen years old. The Lu family seemed to be in Pingnan Village, which was about a two-hour drive from here.

Xia Zhi looked at Lu Yan'an and asked, "So the Hao family and the Gu family have settled in Pingnan Village?"

Lu Yan'an looked at her and nodded, "Yes, it's over at the old house."

After speaking, Lu Yan'an looked at her silent older brother and asked, "Brother, I'm on vacation. Can I stay here with you guys?"

"No, there's no room for you." Lu Beiting refused without even thinking.

When she arrives, he has to go back to his dorm. He's just started to develop feelings for his girlfriend, and he doesn't want to be separated from her.

Lu Yan'an lowered her head with a wronged look, her voice muffled, "But I don't want to go back either. My parents scold me every day, whether I'm right or wrong."

Things were fine before; her older brother would come back to support her. But after they fell out recently, they took all their anger out on her.

Even drinking water gets you scolded for not finishing it.

Xia Zhi looked at Lu Yan'an, whose eyes were red and swollen, and said, "If you want to stay, then stay. You can even help me with my work."

Lu Yan'an looked up at her with delight, "Thank you, sister-in-law!"

He then put his arm around hers and glanced at his older brother.

Xia Zhi was caught off guard by her sudden enthusiasm; she had only said that because she was thinking about the suffocating Chinese education system.

Lu Beiting looked at her and said, "The dorms at the military base will be ready soon. Let me see if there are any vacancies. If there are, I'll apply for a few days."

He then looked at her with a serious expression and said, "The army doesn't support idlers. You have to work here too."

Lu Yan'an nodded quickly, "Yes, yes, I'll help my sister-in-law, I'll definitely be a good girl."

Lu Yan'an glanced at Xia Zhi gratefully.

Lu Beiting got up irritably. "I'm going to my dorm."

After Lu Beiting left, the room fell into a brief silence. Lu Yan'an released Xia Zhi's hand and sincerely apologized.

"Sister-in-law, I'm sorry. Please don't take what happened before to heart. From now on, you're my sister-in-law. I'll do whatever you ask me to do."

Xia Zhi looked at her sincere little face and said, "Alright, I forgive you then. Go wash up and go to bed early."

……

The next day
Lu Yan'an stared at her longingly.

Xia Zhi felt quite uncomfortable being stared at. "What's wrong?"

Lu Yan'an clasped his hands together and pleaded with her, "Sister-in-law, please come home with me and tell her, okay?"

Xia Zhi paused in her hand, her eyes lighting up.

This is great! This is absolutely fantastic!

"Alright, alright, let's go, let's go now."

Lu Yan'an was surprised that she agreed so readily, and quickly got up and followed behind her.

Xia Zhi pushed out her bicycle. "Get on."

Lu Yan'an looked at the thick sticks in the basket in front of her with some confusion, but still obediently sat down in the back.

Lu Yan'an could feel Xia Zhi's joy throughout the journey.
"What! You want to join the army? No way! If you go to the army, who will do the housework?"

Lu Weifeng was furious. He had asked her to go to the army and call Lu Beiting back, but she had the audacity to go and stay there herself.

They came back, and they even brought Xia Zhi back with them.
