Chapter 54: The Memory of the Queen of Jingjue

In the blink of an eye, the snakes had almost completely submerged the platform outside the ghost cave, and even the path Su Mo came from was covered with snakes.

Su Mo was carrying Shirley Yang on his back at the moment and didn't want to create any more trouble, so he turned around and ran towards a small cave not far away.

He carried Shirley Yang on his back and made a few leaps into the cave.

This was a crack formed between the mountains, only about one person high. Su Mo knew that it led to the ground, so he continued walking along the crack.

There was a constant rustling sound coming from behind, and the group of snakes followed Su Mo and chased him out, as dark as a tide.

Seeing that the snakes were chasing at a very fast speed, Su Mo gathered his strength and roared towards the cave entrance.

"retreat!"

The roar of the Buddhist lion, filled with the might of the holy blood of the Qilin, shook the entire cave and made it buzz. Even though Shirley Yang had covered her ears tightly, her eardrums were still ringing from the vibration.

The snakes were frightened by the roar and retreated one after another, retreating to the cave entrance like the tide.

Seeing that the snakes were no longer chasing him, Su Mo continued to walk forward carrying Shirley Yang on his back.

Just after walking a few steps, Shirley Yang suddenly said behind him:

"Put me down, I... can walk by myself!"

It turned out that Shirley Yang had just lost consciousness and fainted when she was hung upside down by the Queen of Jingjue, but her body was not damaged. She felt that her energy had been restored a little, and immediately asked Su Mo to put her down.

Su Mo then untied the ropes that tied Shirley Yang to himself and put her on the ground.

"What happened when the Queen of Jingjue hung you upside down in the air just now?"

Shirley Yang was silent for a moment, then said:

"I gained some of her memories..."

Su Mo couldn't help but be shocked when he heard this.

Shirley Yang glanced at Su Mo and said:
"You know, before I came here, I dreamed of this ghost cave. I even dreamed of the queen's coffin and the chains on it. I even dreamed that there was something lying on the coffin, but I couldn't see it clearly in the dream. Now I think that the huge thing lying on the coffin in the dream is probably the corpse-scented arum!"

"In my dream, there was a voice calling me to enter the ghost cave in Zagrama Mountain. But when I really met the queen and gained some of her memories, I seem to understand many things now..."

Having said that, Shirley Yang couldn't help but sigh, her eyes full of sadness and pain.

Su Mo listened silently beside him without saying anything.

Somehow, he seemed to have guessed some connection between the Queen of Jingjue and Shirley Yang.

As they were talking, a square stone house suddenly appeared in front of them.

The stone house is not very big, only about a few square meters. There is a huge ancient stone box on the ground, which looks dusty and very quaint.

There were two people sitting cross-legged on both sides of the stone box. Their bodies had long been shriveled, and their skin had turned gray-brown. They looked like they had been dead for at least a thousand years. Shirley Yang looked at the pattern painted on the stone box and suddenly said:
"The Great Tang Records on the Western Regions records that two saints are buried in the Zaglama Mountain. Could these two be the people mentioned in the book?"

Su Mo glanced at the two mummies and shook his head.
"This tomb is so simple, it doesn't quite fit the identity of a saint. Moreover, this kind of tomb in a stone mountain doesn't conform to Feng Shui at all. It says that since he is a saint, no matter what family he came from, he must be buried in a place with excellent Feng Shui. But there is a dangerous cave under the mountain here, it is impossible to bury a saint!"

Shirley Yang nodded and looked down at the pattern on the stone box carefully.

However, there were several pictures carved on the stone box. The first picture showed a child pointing to the sky, and many people were hiding below. The second and third pictures respectively depicted tornadoes causing disasters, which killed and injured countless houses, people, cattle, horses and livestock. However, the people around the child were obviously guided by him and avoided the disaster.

However, the pattern depicted in the fourth painting is very strange.

There are four people in the painting, one of whom is opening a stone box.

Shirley Yang frowned and said:

"This seems to be a prophecy painting. It shows that four people will come in here and open this stone box. And one of these four people is an evil ghost... But this prophecy doesn't seem to be accurate!"

Su Mo couldn't help but sneer after hearing this:
"Prophecies may not always be accurate. There are only you and me here, there are no evil spirits!"

Different from the original novel, due to the appearance of Su Mo, only Su Mo and Shirley Yang entered the cave, while Huba and others took Professor Chen and others to leave the underground palace of the Queen of Jingjue along the original route.

Hao Aiguo and Satipeng, who were supposed to die in the original novel, are safe and sound, and Ye Yixin should not die now because he received help.

And because of the appearance of Su Mo, the fragrance of the corpse konjac did not reach the point of bewitching people and causing death.

Therefore, the appearance of Su Mo is equivalent to changing the development of the entire story!
After saying that, Su Mo directly opened the second layer of the stone box.

In the stone box, there is an ancient book made of sheepskin, but the book is full of ghost cave characters.

Su Mo then handed the book to Shirley Yang. After flipping through it, Shirley Yang said:

"What is recorded here is the founding history of the ancient Jingjue Kingdom and the origin of the Ghost Cave. It is very similar to the memories of the Queen of Jingjue that I have received!"

After saying that, she told Su Mo the queen's memory that she had received.

In ancient times, there was a sacred mountain in the Western Regions, which was Mount Zaglama. Originally, four tribes lived here.

Later, people discovered a cave in this mountain. The cave was bottomless and no one could go down to explore. Everyone wanted to find out what was inside this ghost cave, so a high priest ordered people to make a jade eyeball, hoping to find out the secrets of the ghost cave through the power of the true God.

The high priest held a grand sacrifice, and by sacrificing the jade eyeball, he used the power of the true god to see the real situation under the ghost cave through the eyeball.

But the jade eyeball brought disaster. First, the high priest suddenly became blind and then died soon after.

Then, many strange snakes appeared from the ghost cave. These snakes had strange eyes on their heads. There was also a monster with a human-headed snake god and limbs. It would hatch snake eggs that looked like huge eyeballs and produce hundreds of strange snakes at a time.

If these strange snakes were allowed to reproduce, the four tribes in Mount Zagrama would all be destroyed. So two saints came out from the four tribes, they killed the mother snake and led the tribesmen to clean up all the snakes.

Then, in order to avoid the disaster, this tribe migrated to the far east, and a new tribe came to Zaglama Mountain, which was the Jingjue people!
The Queen of Jingjue was born with a pair of ghost eyes that could see into the underworld. She could summon black monster snakes through her jade eyeballs, and used these means to conquer more than a dozen nearby countries, including the country of Prince Gumo that we have visited.
