Chapter 311 Yin and Yang
Ding Lin easily retrieved these records about the earthquake from his memory.

Inside the inner grotto, the sea is calm and tranquil.

The golden elixir hung high in the sky, resembling the great sun.

Within this unfathomable depth, as understanding became clearer, the land beneath the sea naturally cracked open.

With a thought, Ding Lin caused the two connected plates to collide and compress, and then, from the core of the collision, a burst of energy was released.

First came the longitudinal wave.

Among the few mountain peaks that rise above the water in the water world, the one planted with lotus flowers suddenly began to shake violently. Huge waves surged up thousands of feet high, almost touching the mountain peak, and rocks tumbled down, silently merging into the waves.

This area has changed.

Ding Lin's consciousness hovered beside the Golden Core; he deliberately chose this location.

Amidst the raging waves of the tsunami, the patch of green lotus swayed with the undulations of the mountains, seemingly precarious and on the verge of collapse at any moment. Yet, upon closer inspection, one could see its ease and composure. Regardless of the rain and wind, even when the entire lotus plant was submerged in water, that touch of emerald green remained stable, neither increasing nor decreasing.

"Boom!"

After the longitudinal wave comes the transverse wave.

This is a more intense longitudinal wave.

At the mountaintop, a boulder several meters in diameter suddenly could no longer hold back, shook, and then rolled heavily down.

Ding Lin observed coldly. At this point, the evolution of the earthquake was already complete, but he had no intention of stopping it.

The chains creaked in the void, and a gray chain stretched out, hanging in the upper middle position. The law of earth tremors was considered powerful even among the mid-level laws.

The boulder continued its relentless downward crushing, relentlessly pushing and shoving until it was almost completely crushing the patch of green lotus leaves.
hum!
A silent rhythm.

Suddenly, a fine emerald light rose from the lotus leaf. In an instant, the earthquake subsided. When the rocks rolled over the lotus leaf, they suddenly hit a protrusion, flew off, and flew over the lotus leaf without hesitation, plunging into the sea.

The next moment, the wind and waves subsided, and the sea and rivers were calm.

Everything is back to normal.

Ding Lin had anticipated this, and remained calm, unaffected by anything. This attempt was merely a matter of convenience.

The Eighth Law.

This is also the fifth move I've mastered through practice.

As one masters this law, the earth-shaking divine power of the Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang can also be used.

This retreat has already yielded results.

Ding Lin, however, had no intention of ending the project; he continued according to the plan.

After shaking mountains and moving the earth, the next step is to turn the earth into steel.

While both are laws of the earth, "Turning the Earth into Steel" represents a new direction compared to "Earth-Shattering Strike."

Ding Lin searched his mind thoroughly, and those relevant memories from the corners of his mind surfaced one after another. First was the standard of geological hardness. He had read a popular science book when he was very young in his previous life, which recorded that it was divided into ten levels from low to high.

The softest is talc, then gypsum, calcite, fluorite, then apatite, feldspar, quartz, topaz, corundum, and finally diamond.

In Ding Lin's understanding, the so-called "turning soil into steel" literally means turning soil into stone, but in reality it involves a fundamental change in the properties of rock and soil. And since it is to "turn into steel", the harder it is, the better.

Those medium-soft stones are the first to be eliminated from consideration.

As far as I can remember, diamond has an absolute hardness four times that of corundum and eight times that of quartz.

The first choice is naturally diamond, which is the hardest naturally occurring substance in nature. Thanks to the famous name of diamond in our memory, diamond is simply a polished and cut diamond.

Ding Lin also knows a little about diamonds.

It is a mineral composed of carbon.

Colorless octahedral crystals.

As for the formation of diamonds, Ding Lin only vaguely remembered that it should be related to temperature and pressure.

Within the Earth's crust, the deeper you go, the greater the temperature and pressure become.

These memories are enough.

Now we can leave it to time.

With concepts and directions in mind, and the Inner Landscape Cave as a natural place for practice, Ding Lin tried it again and again without getting tired.

Finally, at a certain moment, the depth and temperature/pressure conditions in the underwater world reached the right level, and a dazzling crystal precipitated out from the geology.

With a thought, Ding Lin caused the diamond to appear on the mountains in the sea. A golden immortal-level attack flew out from the sun and struck the diamond, causing a magnificent and dazzling burst of light to erupt.

When the dust settled, what should have been a blow that could shatter mountains and block the sea had left only a crater several tens of feet deep in the diamond.

"Crack!"

In the void, another chain stretched out, standing alongside the Earthquake Law from before. This newly formed law also ranks among the top in the middle tier.

This is the ninth one.

This was also the sixth move that Ding Lin had mastered through practice.

It refers to the ground turning into steel.

Of the four transformations listed earlier, apart from the temporarily shelved Yin-Yang reversal, only the flying sand and stones remain. To be honest, this kind of supernatural transformation was purely chosen by Ding Lin to fill the nine laws as quickly as possible.

For sand and stones to fly, there must first be wind.

Ding Lin had already mastered the supernatural power of summoning wind and rain, and the Law of Wind was already suspended in his inner vision, leaving only sand and stone.

In Ding Lin's understanding, stone is a general term for all the hard substances that make up the earth's crust, which are composed of minerals.

Sand, on the other hand, crushes the stones as much as possible.

These two are the same object, but in different forms; the larger one is a stone, and the smaller one is sand.

I racked my brains and surprisingly found a few words that could corroborate this.

“Cangwu and the South China Sea are plagued by miasma every year. The wind breaks trees and flies sand and stones, while the miasma is so thick that birds cannot fly through.”

“Sand is water that disperses stones.”

Such an understanding is extremely superficial.

But it also aligns with common sense.

With a thought, Ding Lin caused two iron chains to grow out of the inner cave, which was positioned close to the sea surface and even lower than the position of the life force law.

No, perhaps it should be called a chain; they are not even as thick as a finger, they are extremely delicate.

Ding Lin even suspected that without the blessing of the Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang, even the Law Chains could not have materialized. But now they have indeed materialized, and they look as if they could be broken by hand.

It is also the lowest of the low in the lower-level laws.

But regardless, sand and stone are two laws.

This was also the eighth law that Ding Lin had mastered on his own.

If we also consider the water-elemental law inherited from the True Dragon bloodline, as well as the space and life-giving laws refined from the "Spirit Treasure Technique," Ding Lin now possesses eleven laws, while the Taiyi realm only requires a minimum of ten laws to attempt an ascent.

Inside the inner world, the sea had long since calmed down. The cluster of green lotus leaves, having stopped the falling boulder, had also settled down.

A gentle breeze ripples.

It was the lingering effect of Ding Lin's earlier attempt to create a sandstorm.

On the mountainside, green lotus leaves sway gently.

A sudden longing welled up in Ding Lin's heart, and a thought suddenly popped into his mind: since there are already enough laws, and there just happens to be a superior law like Space, all the conditions are in place, why not break through?

Beside the Golden Elixir, his thoughts lingered for a moment.

why?
Ding Lin vaguely remembered that there seemed to be a conclusion before, but he couldn't recall it at all.

If you can't remember, then break through.

Regardless of the downsides, improving one's cultivation level can't be considered wrong, right?

Ding Lin almost couldn't resist starting to break through.

But just then, the lightning-struck tree on the other side of the mountain trembled slightly, and tiny golden lightning crackled on a green branch.

My sluggish thoughts became even more chaotic.

The next moment, Ding Lin suddenly woke up. His thoughts were ethereal beside the golden core, and his gaze was almost solid as he looked at the green lotus growing by the water on the other side of the mountain.

The green lotus leaves swayed gently, seemingly utterly innocent.

Ding Lin suddenly woke up, his eyes snapping open as his consciousness escaped from his inner world and returned to his physical body, his back drenched in sweat.

Having reached the current level of cultivation, Ding Lin could almost be said to have reached the limit of advancement below the Taiyi realm, yet he was still drenched in sweat.

Ding Lin steadied himself, still incredibly frightened. If it hadn't been for the lightning-struck wood's warning at the last moment, he probably would have truly fallen into the trap. Although the Queen Mother hadn't explicitly stated it that day, Ding Lin could imagine the situation even without her saying it. If he advanced to the Taiyi realm using space as the core, then unless he was willing to permanently control his cultivation at the Taiyi level and never again aspire to higher ranks, otherwise…

What a risk.

Immediately, a fierce glint flashed in Ding Lin's eyes. After the crisis and the lingering fear, he felt his mind suddenly become incredibly clear. The fact that Qing He had made a move at this moment meant that relying solely on the law of space, he had no confidence in seizing control of his body when he achieved his goal. And the more confident he was, the less likely he would be to succeed.

Ding Lin closed his eyes again. He was unwilling to wait any longer. The tranquility after the crisis, though leaving him mentally and physically exhausted, was undoubtedly the best opportunity for advancement.

He then pondered the idea of reversing yin and yang.

Originally, Ding Lin intended to cultivate the Yin and Yang principles separately, but after pondering the rotation of the sun and moon and the Yin and Yang of the weather, he suddenly had a new idea: could he view Yin and Yang as a whole? The Tao Te Ching says, "All things embrace Yang and carry Yin," and the Tai Chi diagram also has Yin and Yang eyes. Whether it was the rotation of the sun and moon or the changes in the weather, they were all within this framework.

Yin and Yang can be considered a phenomenon, but they can also be regarded as a philosophy.

In this world, it might be considered the ultimate truth of heaven and earth.

Using his past life's way of thinking, Ding Lin, with his current level of understanding, could deduce countless possibilities from a single thought. With a general framework and outline, the vague concepts quickly became clear.

He still viewed Yin and Yang as one, and derived the characteristics of Yin-Yang philosophy, which consist of three parts: unity, opposition, and mutual transformation.

In terms of thinking, it is an inseparable and profound point in counting rods and divination.

It is a description of the fundamental factors that lie behind the laws of nature and drive their development and change; it is a core element of logical thinking.

According to Ding Lin's understanding based on the principles of the I Ching, in summary...

Yin and Yang describe the most fundamental elements of the universe and their functions, and are one of the basic concepts of the Fuxi Yi.

The interaction of Yin and Yang gives rise to all things. Everything in the world follows the principles of Yin and Yang, and one can glean a trace of this principle from all things and events. Everyone will have different insights after understanding this, because all things exist within the framework of Yin and Yang.

Ding Lin recalled many books he had read in his previous life. He had only a superficial understanding of them then, but now he could glimpse the shadow of Yin and Yang in them.

The term Yin and Yang truly represents a great deal of meaning and principle.

Ding Lin further summarized his ideas, categorizing them simply into: Yin and Yang in opposition, Yin and Yang in conflict, and Yin and Yang in transformation.

Thinking stops here; the ultimate state is sublimated.

Ding Lin didn't know if such a general approach could generate laws, but he had already pushed his own deductions and understanding to the limit, and this was his understanding of Yin and Yang.

next moment……

"Boom!"

Thunder rumbled within the inner grotto.

This was the first time Ding Lin had relied on himself, or rather, not entirely on himself; he had merely built upon the shoulders of countless great figures from his past to make a summary.

But it seems that Heaven and Earth have given their approval.

A chain emerged from the void, hanging beside the Golden Core, only slightly lower than the Law of Space. The Law of Space has three sections of chain, while this newly formed Yin-Yang Law has only three and a half sections.

This means that Yin and Yang, in the laws, are only below the four supreme laws, which is enough to point directly to the Great Dao. They can be used as the core of the Great Dao principle for cultivating to the Great Luo.

This time, Ding Lin's greatest gain was not the comprehension of the Yin-Yang Law, but rather the vague understanding he gained of a certain pattern among the laws. The so-called Three Thousand Laws are actually just different perspectives on various aspects of things.

The more perfect the law, the higher its level.

Things like vitality and size are things that even the wisest among the mortals of this era can understand; they are the laws of the lower order.

Above that, the gentleness of water, the intensity of storms, the melting of water into ice, the falling of clouds and rain—these are the natural changes that are beyond the comprehension of mortals in this era, and thus constitute the intermediate laws.

Another characteristic of the median rule is its one-sidedness; it can only describe one aspect of a matter.

When the intermediate principle enriches its own partiality, it becomes the superior principle.

Concepts like Yin and Yang, or space, time, and cause and effect, are undoubtedly extremely complete.

Alternatively, multiple aspects can form a complete closed loop, which can also be considered a higher level.

Such as the circulation of the five elements and the alternation of the four symbols.

However, these can only be ranked last in the higher-level rules.

These insights, one by one, surfaced in my mind; they are an invisible treasure.

Spiritual practice is the process of gradually pursuing the truth.

The so-called Three Thousand Rules actually lead to the same goal. It is more like a top-down system, where the elements are not absolutely independent but rather interdependent.

Ding Lin finally understood why the Dao Ancestor could explain all three thousand laws with just the Thirty-Six Transformations of the Heavenly Gang.

But at this moment, what's more important is to break through to Taiyi first.

Not only are there external threats, but there are also crises within the body.

Ding Lin collected his thoughts and realized so much. He felt fulfilled, and with this foundation, he could undoubtedly increase his chances of breaking through to the Taiyi realm.

Space, vitality, and the law representing the soft side of water—these three laws were set aside.

It is only used to maintain the Golden Immortal realm during a breakthrough.

Ding Lin's thoughts lingered beside the Great Sun Golden Elixir.

When a breakthrough was about to be achieved, my emotions were calmer than ever before.

With a single thought, the nine laws coalesced.
