People in Conferred Gods: Rising from humble beginnings, I am the God of Wealth

Chapter 463 Re-practicing the Rules with the Ruler, Shakyamuni Comes to the Door!

Chapter 463 Re-practicing the Rules with the Ruler, Shakyamuni Comes to the Door!
The Nine Provinces, Confucius's Courtyard.

Yang Xuan held a measuring ruler in one hand and a rule ruler in the other, his face showing anticipation.

Back when Yang Xuan was still a Xuanxian, he thought that if he could obtain the Measuring Ruler in the future, he might be able to integrate it into the Ruler of Rules to increase the upper limit of this natal spiritual treasure.

Unfortunately, at that time, Yang Xuan's Taoist cultivation and weapon-refining skills were quite limited, making it impossible for him to refine a satisfactory natal spirit treasure in one go.

Therefore, the natal spiritual treasure that Yang Xuan refined was just a blank, with many unfinished parts.

Thinking that after his cultivation and weapon-refining skills improve in the future, he will fill in these blank spaces and perfect his natal spirit treasure.

The two largest blank spaces on the rule ruler are on the measuring ruler and the sea-stabilizing pearl.

Now that Yang Xuan and Zhao Gongming have a good relationship, it would be inappropriate to use the Sea-Stabilizing Pearl to integrate into the Ruler of Rules. He plans to use other spiritual objects instead.

Even disregarding the Heaven-Opening effect, there are many spiritual objects that can replace the Sea-Stabilizing Pearl, so it won't have any impact.

With Yang Xuan's wealth and power, he possessed the Heavenly Court and the Underworld, and had access to the treasures of the Dragon Clan, Phoenix Clan, Demon Clan, and Witch Clan. He had already collected twenty-four innate spiritual pearls containing the Great Dao of Space.

As for the Measuring Ruler, there are fewer concerns. Since this innate spiritual treasure is already in Yang Xuan's hands, he can simply give it a try.

Moreover, Yang Xuan spent many years developing the method to integrate the measuring ruler into the rule-breaking ruler.

More than three thousand years after obtaining the Measuring Ruler, Yang Xuan made further fine adjustments to the original refining method based on the characteristics of the Measuring Ruler.

I wouldn't say it's 100% guaranteed, but I'm 98% confident, which is enough.

Even if things go wrong, the Ruler of Rules won't be damaged, and as for the Measuring Ruler of Heaven, it's a top-grade innate spiritual treasure, so it's even less likely to be damaged.

Yang Xuan had already made up his mind, so he did not hesitate at all.

He immediately activated the Nine Heavens Divine Fire to form the Nine Heavens Divine Fire Furnace, placed the Measuring Ruler and the Ruler of Rules into it, and continuously poured in Heavenly Merit to increase the success rate of refining the Ruler of Rules.

The Book of Life and Death and the Judge's Pen were able to merge into the Book of Fate in an instant, becoming part of this natal spiritual treasure, thanks to the blessing of the earth's power and the sufficient earth's merit as energy.

Without the support of the power of the earth, even if Yang Xuan can provide a large amount of merit, this process is destined to be quite lengthy.

This continued for over 50,000 years. During this time, the ancient East became increasingly lively, and the debates among the various schools of thought became more frequent and intense.

During a debate, many either withdrew from the stage of diverse schools of thought or merged into other more established sects.

However, some sects have become increasingly powerful through continuous debate and refinement of their doctrines, gradually standing out from the crowd.

Among them, three sects are the most famous.

These are Taoism, which originated from the Xuanmen (Taoist sect), with Li Er as its leader and many Xuanmen disciples joining it.

Buddhism, which came from the West, and... a sect founded by Confucius, a human who only had the cultivation of a Golden Immortal and had never even established a sect name.

Among them, Taoism has the most solid foundation and the strongest hard power.

Even after the Investiture of the Gods and the Westernization of Buddhism, the Xuanmen sect still possesses a strong foundation. The Taoism built upon the foundation of the Xuanmen sect is incomparable to ordinary forces.

The most infuriating religious sect is undoubtedly Buddhism.

The West is already showing signs of great prosperity, and Buddhism can be said to have arrived with the might of Heaven. They are only focused on the great prosperity of Buddhism and do not care at all about the rules and regulations of the Hundred Schools of Thought.

If anyone tries to obstruct their preaching, they will go directly to them and discuss the doctrine.

No matter how confident an ordinary force is in its own doctrines, how can it compare to Buddhism? Moreover, the second batch of Buddhist reinforcements included many Great Luo Golden Immortals.

Even if Buddhist disciples cannot convince others of their faith through conventional discussions based on Buddhist doctrines, can't they at least use some underhanded tactics?
Over time, the Buddhist way of doing things naturally spread throughout the ancient East.

Later on, sects without the presence of a Great Immortal dared not obstruct the spread of Buddhism. Only sects with a Great Immortal in charge dared to accept Buddhist discussions.

Even so, over the years, Buddhism has gained a large number of believers in the ancient East.

One can imagine how fast Buddhism could have spread, and what the prehistoric East would have been like, without the Hundred Schools of Thought and the early construction of temples in Heaven and the Underworld.

The reason why Confucius was able to shine brightly in the contention of a hundred schools of thought is that his doctrines were solid enough and his understanding of the great Dao was extraordinary.

Even with only the cultivation level of a Golden Immortal, one can still discuss the Dao with a Great Luo Golden Immortal, learn from each other's strengths and make up for one's weaknesses, and continuously improve one's own doctrines.

On the other hand, Confucius was brave enough to make his stance clear from the beginning. Every time he went to a place, he told the creatures there that Buddhist teachings were flawed and detrimental to the lives of the ancient people.

He's completely going against Buddhism, which is admirable.

It is precisely for this reason that many religious sects have taken good care of Confucius. In addition, Confucius himself has good fortune, so that over the years, Confucius has never been encountered by Buddhist missionary teams.

As for how long this situation will last, and how the Buddhist missionaries will react after encountering Confucius, no one can be sure.

Yang Xuan had always had some understanding of what had happened in the primordial East over the years, as he viewed the primordial world from above the sun.

He even saw a Buddhist missionary group approaching in the direction Confucius was traveling, and if nothing unexpected happened, the two groups would meet in about ten years.

However, his current attention is not on the topic of the Hundred Schools of Thought.

After more than 50,000 years of refinement, the reforging of the Ruler of Rules has reached its final stage.

Ten thousand years ago, the Ruler of Rules was refined by Yang Xuan and split into two parts, revealing the hollow part in the middle, into which the Measuring Ruler was inserted.

Now, more than 50,000 years later, this hollow part fits perfectly with the measuring rod of heaven, and is connected to it by a large number of mysterious array patterns.

At the same time, twenty-four precious beads, like stars, are inlaid on the surface of the ruler.

At the beginning, the Ruler of Rules, the Measuring Ruler of Heaven, and these twenty-four spatial treasures were simply glued together; in essence, they were still three different spiritual treasures.

However, Yang Xuan disregarded costs, consuming a massive amount of Heavenly Dao merit, a portion of Great Dao merit, and a large quantity of Sacred Virtue and Pure Qi.

After more than 50,000 years of refinement, and with the connection of countless array patterns, the auras of the three gradually began to merge.

Ten years passed in this way. The rules, the measuring ruler, and the aura of the twenty-four spatial pearls completely merged, bursting forth with boundless divine light. They flew out from the Nine Heavens Divine Fire Furnace and hovered in front of Yang Xuan.

After this ritual, the appearance of the Ruler underwent a tremendous change.

The ruler was still entirely purple, but now it had a dreamlike, ethereal quality, as if it had melted into the void, giving it an unreal appearance. There were also twenty-four golden orbs, seemingly randomly distributed across its surface.

Between these precious beads, fine purple-gold threads connect to form a mysterious array pattern that covers the entire surface of the Ruler of Rules…

Do not!
To be precise, these fine lines are not only distributed on the surface of the ruler,
Instead, these purple-gold fine lines exist throughout the entire inside and outside of the Ruler, forming a three-dimensional array that integrates the Measuring Ruler and the twenty-four spatial orbs into the Ruler!

Now, the foundation of this rule ruler has become like the ledger of fate, a special spiritual treasure that simultaneously possesses both the highest-grade acquired holy virtue spiritual treasure and the highest-grade innate holy virtue spiritual treasure.

As for its power, it is naturally stronger than a simple measuring rod!

Yang Xuan reached out and grasped the Ruler of Rules. At that moment, it was as if he held the entire world in his hands, able to mobilize the power of the surrounding universe with a casual strike.
The scope of this rule is far greater than that of the original rule ruler. Yang Xuan felt that if he wanted to, he could easily mobilize the power of heaven and earth in the entire Qingzhou and formulate the rules of Qingzhou!
In order to relearn the rules of discipline, Yang Xuan had consumed most of the sacred virtue and pure energy he had accumulated over the years, so it was only natural that it possessed such power.

In addition to its original ability to mobilize the power of heaven and earth and rewrite the rules, the Ruler can now also mobilize the power of space, making it a spatial treasure.

Yang Xuan simply waved the rule ruler lightly, and it was as if twenty-four worlds in the middle of the universe were crashing down, shattering the space in front of him.

This seemingly casual strike was enough to kill a Great Luo Golden Immortal like Daoist Ran Deng ten or eight times over.

Yang Xuan swung the Ruler of Rules once more, and the shattered space in front of him was restored to its original state, with a small world even faintly forming.

But creation is inherently more difficult than destruction. Even a great being who is proficient in the Dao of Space cannot create a small world at will.

Ultimately, this small world, which had just begun to take shape, was destroyed in the spatial turbulence.

Strictly speaking, this was originally part of the effect of the Measuring Ruler itself, but Daoist Ran Deng's cultivation was not good enough, and his understanding of the Great Dao of Space was not as profound as Yang Xuan's, so he could not unleash the power that the Measuring Ruler should have.

Even though Yang Xuan did not integrate the Measuring Ruler into the Ruler of Rules, in his hands, a casual strike could indeed carry the immense pressure of a thousand worlds.

Perhaps after Randeng becomes a quasi-saint, he will be able to unleash some of the true power of the Measuring Ruler, but for now, the Measuring Ruler is truly somewhat obsolete in Randeng's hands.
With Yang Xuan integrating the Measuring Ruler into the Ruler of Rules, the blessing of twenty-four spatial orbs, and the power of heaven and earth mobilized by the Ruler of Rules, Yang Xuan...
This led to the scene where a casual strike could unleash a thousand worlds from the twenty-four directions.

Without a doubt, the power of the rule-breaking ruler has been greatly enhanced in all aspects.

In terms of killing power alone, the Ruler of Rules ranks among the top of Yang Xuan's many magical treasures, and could even be considered the number one.

Even the Book of Fate and the Flying Knife of Immortal Slaying cannot compare to the Ruler of Rules in terms of pure killing.

After all, Yang Xuan wields the Ruler of Rules, and with a casual strike, he can unleash the power of twenty-four worlds.

If Yang Xuan were to unleash his full power, and receive the support of the power of heaven and earth from one or even several provinces, this strike would truly carry the might of heaven, with at least the immense force of twenty-four great worlds crashing down upon him!

In the past, when Yang Xuan fought with others, he mainly relied on the unreasonable Yi Bao Divine Technique, combined with the Treasure Dropping Coin and the Cause and Effect Balance Instrument, to forcibly borrow the opponent's spiritual treasures and magical power.

Now that the Ruler of Rules has been reforged, it has made up for one of Yang Xuan's shortcomings. From now on, he also has a powerful, or rather, equally unreasonable, killing ability!
In addition, as a spatial treasure, the Ruler of Rules can also enhance one's understanding of the Great Dao of Space.

Especially in terms of comprehending and opening up space, the Ruler of Rules has a unique advantage, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is the number one spatial treasure in this regard.

Yang Xuan believed that even if he couldn't witness the Three Pure Ones opening the heavens, as long as he studied the rules and regulations of the ruler for many years and had enough time, he was confident that he could open the twenty-four heavens.

But before Yang Xuan could comprehend the great Dao within, he sensed something, looked up into the distance, and frowned slightly.

the other side.

The Nine Provinces of today are vast, far smaller than the legends of later generations. Over tens of thousands of years, Confucius had only just left the Nine Provinces and arrived at their borders.

Over the years, Confucius promoted benevolence, propriety, and virtue, and expounded on the true meaning of the Great Way. He also explained to the people of the Nine Provinces the drawbacks of Buddhist doctrines and the harm they caused to the people of the Nine Provinces.

Since the ley lines of the Nine Provinces have not been damaged, the human race has been developing in a positive direction. The human race is not ignorant.

Although many people are misled by Buddhist teachings and want to try their luck to be reborn in the Pure Land, for these people there is no hope in this life anyway.

However, after hearing Confucius's explanation and learning about the harm that Buddhist teachings posed to humanity, many people still chose to repent and burn Buddhist scriptures and demolish Buddhist temples.

This is because whenever Confucius traveled to a place, he would explain the drawbacks of Buddhist teachings to the local people.

As a result, the spread of Buddhism in Kyushu faced even more obstacles. The Buddhists hated Confucius to the core and had long wanted to have a discussion with him to make him realize his own limitations and withdraw on his own initiative.

However, Buddhism's style is too domineering and it doesn't reason with anyone, so many sects in the prehistoric East dislike Buddhism.

They would naturally be happy to see something happen that would cause the Buddhist community to suffer a setback.

Moreover, although Confucius's cultivation was not great, his understanding of the Great Dao far surpassed that of ordinary people. He used his true abilities to defeat one different sect after another, thus perfecting his own Great Dao.

Therefore, many religious sects were willing to offer assistance, so much so that Buddhism, over tens of thousands of years, has never encountered Confucius.

However, as Confucius's influence grew, even with the help of many religious sects, his whereabouts inevitably fell into the hands of Buddhism.

this day.

Confucius was leading his disciples to the border of the Nine Provinces, preparing to continue his travels in the prehistoric east, to refine his teachings and clarify the issues of Buddhist doctrines for all beings.

But at that moment, a grand Buddhist chant suddenly emanated from ahead, accompanied by waves of Sanskrit sounds.

"Homage to the Tathagata of the West!"

Confucius and his companions stopped in their tracks, only to see a golden Buddhist gate approaching from afar in the mountains and forests before them.

In the blink of an eye, golden Buddha light appeared before them.

Confucius narrowed his eyes slightly and looked ahead.

Inside this golden Buddhist gate were over a hundred monks dressed in golden robes, their hands clasped together in prayer.

At the very front, ten monks carried a golden lotus throne on a wooden frame.

The lotus throne is ten feet high, with eighty-one petals, layer upon layer.

At the center of this lotus throne sits a monk with a black ushnisha (topknot), a broad face, and large ears.

The monk, with a kind and benevolent face, looked down at Confucius standing on the ground, clasped his hands together in front of his chest, and uttered a Buddhist chant:
"I pay homage to the Tathagata of the West. This humble monk, Shakyamuni, greets Benefactor Kong."
