People in Conferred Gods: Rising from humble beginnings, I am the God of Wealth

Chapter 458 Compiling the Spring and Autumn Annals, Merit Descends!

In the primordial era, time stood still, and in the blink of an eye, another ten thousand years had passed.

With the assistance of Yang Xuan, Confucius completed the revision of the Book of Poetry, the Book of Documents, the Book of Rites, and the Book of Music, and compiled the Book of Changes and the Spring and Autumn Annals.

Zixia and a group of Confucius's students worked together to compile the Analects based on the sayings of Yang Xuan and Confucius.

Today, the Analects has 3,650 pages, and the day it was compiled is not far off.

However, the Analects of Confucius today no longer simply records the words spoken by Confucius.

There are also many original passages from the Analects spoken by Yang Xuan, as well as his insightful and enlightening remarks on the path of cultivation.

If you really think about it, the content of this Analects is roughly half spoken by Yang Xuan and half by Confucius, which is more than Yang Xuan expected.

In this way, when the Analects is completed in the future, as the most important book of Confucianism, it will likely receive merit. Yang Xuan estimated that he would receive about one-third of the merit, which is equivalent to that of Confucius.

In addition, as Confucius's knowledge deepened, he gradually broke free from the influence of Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian Jiaozhu, forging his own path, and the academy's righteous spirit grew stronger.

Over the years, Yang Xuan has stayed in the Confucius Academy, bathed in the aura of righteousness. The seeds of kindness in his heart have been completely condensed, becoming profound and extraordinary, and the life force within them has become increasingly powerful.

However, there is not a single crack in the seed of good intentions that has been formed so far.

However, Yang Xuan did not feel anxious because of this, and his mindset remained very calm.

Since the opportunity to condense the seed of goodness lies in the righteous energy, then the opportunity to break through the seed of goodness and sever the good corpse should also lie in the righteous energy.

According to Yang Xuan's speculation, it should be because Confucius had not yet established Confucianism as a religion.

When Confucius formally established his teachings, Confucian disciples were found throughout the land...

wrong!

The current flourishing of diverse schools of thought is not limited to the Nine Provinces, but extends throughout the entire eastern part of the prehistoric world.
Even in other parts of the prehistoric world, a large number of beings came to the eastern part of the prehistoric world, occupied a piece of land, opened a school of thought, and joined the various schools of thought.

So when Confucius officially established his teachings, Confucian disciples would certainly not only be spread throughout the Nine Provinces, but at least throughout the entire prehistoric East.

If the reason why the Righteous Qi was able to become the opportunity for Yang Xuan to sever his Good Corpse was because the Righteous Qi was special, not because Yang Xuan's Good Corpse Seed had anything special about it.
Therefore, the influence of Confucianism in the prehistoric world can only be described as terrifying.

At that time, perhaps the righteous energy will spread throughout the prehistoric world like the calamity energy of the past, or even... during the heyday of Confucianism, it is not impossible for the righteous energy to cover the entire prehistoric world.

Leaving aside such distant matters, by the time Confucius established his teachings, even if the seeds of good intentions couldn't immediately sprout, the process would be much faster.

Over the course of more than ten thousand years, the ancient East became increasingly vibrant, with various schools of thought emerging like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.

Many ancient sages of humanity emerged from the Fire Cloud Cave and, based on their own understanding of the Great Dao, founded various distinctive sects, such as:

The agricultural school, represented by Shennong, and the medical school, represented by Zhang Zhongjing...

However, the sects founded by the human race only constitute a small part of the Hundred Schools of Thought.

After all, this gathering of the Hundred Schools of Thought was not primarily focused on the human race, but rather was a massive philosophical conference encompassing the entire eastern part of the prehistoric world, with the human race being just one of the participants.

Many races, such as the Dragon Clan, Phoenix Clan, Demon Clan, and Five Elements Spirit Clan, have also participated in the Hundred Schools of Thought, or founded their own sects, or are in the process of integrating their own knowledge and establishing their own teachings.

While it's called the Hundred Schools of Thought, the actual number is far more than 'hundred'!
For example, among the dragons, some dragons are skilled in the innate Dao of water, and based on this, they established the Heavenly Dragon Water Sect in a certain river or lake.

Besides the dragon race, other races also have beings who are skilled in the innate Dao of Water, such as the Five Elements Spirit Race, whose members also founded a Water Cult.

In this way, even without mentioning the acquired Dao, the number of sects established based on the three thousand innate Daos alone exceeds ten thousand.

With so many different sects, the mutual exchange, guidance, and improvement brought about by these sects far surpasses what can be achieved by working in isolation.

Over the course of more than ten thousand years, through discussions and exchanges of doctrines, a distinction has emerged between sects with similar teachings, indicating their relative superiority.

Some sects were absorbed, while others grew stronger and became increasingly dazzling.

However, over the course of more than 40,000 years, the sheer scale of the intellectual ferment that had emerged far exceeded Yang Xuan's expectations.

"Under these circumstances, does Confucianism still have a chance to become one of the three great schools of thought...?"

Yang Xuan sat at his desk, reflecting on the changes in the ancient East over the years, a look of worry appearing on his face.

According to the original timeline, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism were the three strongest schools of thought in the future, but in that timeline, they were all doctrines among ordinary people.

But now, to be qualified to open a sect in the prehistoric East, one must at least have the cultivation level of a Golden Immortal, and there are quite a few Great Luo Golden Immortals.

Buddhism is an ancient and great religion, and it is showing signs of great prosperity. It would be easy for it to stand out among the many schools of thought.

Taoism, in essence, is the Xuanmen (mysterious sect), founded by Laozi (Li Er). Its prominent role during the Hundred Schools of Thought period is a foregone conclusion.

Although Confucius's cultivation had improved over the years, he was only at the level of a Xuanxian (a high-level immortal). Under such circumstances, it was extremely difficult for him to stand out.

"Teacher Yang, the teacher wants you to come over."

Just then, Zixia's voice came from outside the door.

Over the course of more than 40,000 years, Zixia has grown from a child into a handsome and dignified young man.

But the liveliness in his eyes remained unchanged, just as it had when he was young. He was still full of curiosity about Yang Xuan's generous teacher, and he was tilting his head slightly as he looked at Yang Xuan inside the door.

"coming."

Yang Xuan smiled and put aside his worries.

While it is true that Buddhism and Taoism have extraordinary origins, Confucianism is not without backing either. Yang Xuan, the emperor of both Heaven and the Underworld, is now a substitute teacher of Confucianism.

Moreover, Confucius was chosen by both Tongtian Jiaozhu and Yuanshi Tianzun. Even without mentioning the two sages, he also had the Jiejiao and Chanjiao sects to rely on.

In this sense, if Confucius wanted to establish Confucianism, he would have had the support of four forces: the Heavenly Court, the Underworld, the Chan Sect, and the Jie Sect.

Most importantly, Confucius was born at the right time and was blessed by the heavens. He possessed extraordinary wisdom and was enlightened by the Tongtian Sect Master and the Primordial Heavenly Venerable. In recent years, Yang Xuan has also assisted him.

Although his cultivation level is not very high, his understanding of the Great Dao is not necessarily inferior to that of a Grand Luo Golden Immortal.

Ultimately, the contention among a hundred schools of thought is a contest of doctrines and insights into the Great Way, not a contest of cultivation.

Given Yang Xuan's understanding of Confucius and the spirit of righteousness, it's not a problem for Confucianism to stand out, let alone take the lead!

In other words, if Confucianism cannot stand out, it means there is something wrong with the world, and someone is interfering with Chongzhong.

Yang Xuan didn't think much of it; these were things that a sage needed to worry about, and he just needed to let nature take its course.

Afterwards, Yang Xuan followed Zixia to Confucius's study and naturally sat down opposite Confucius.

Seeing Yang Xuan sit down, Confucius smiled, handed him the bamboo slips in his hand, and said with a smile:

"The thirty-five volumes of the Spring and Autumn Annals are now all contained in this book. I would appreciate it if Mr. Yang could take a look and see if there are any omissions."

Yang Xuan did not accept the bamboo slips. Unlike the Spring and Autumn Annals of later generations, the thirty-five volumes of the Spring and Autumn Annals compiled by Confucius were not purely literary works. In the context of the prehistoric era, how could it be possible to establish a school of thought based solely on literary works?

Leaving aside the entire prehistoric world, just considering the nine provinces of the human race, that was an era where everyone cultivated. If you wanted to open a sect without cultivation techniques, you were just dreaming.

The thirty-five volumes of the Spring and Autumn Annals compiled by Confucius contain the fundamental methods of Confucian self-cultivation and the methods for cultivating a righteous spirit.

Yang Xuan was not good at writing articles, but he was an absolute expert when it came to creating laws.

Yang Xuan's Five Virtues Profound Skill, Yi Bao Divine Technique, and the Incense Golden Body Condensation Method practiced by Heavenly Immortals and Underworld Ghosts were all basically created by Yang Xuan.

Therefore, Yang Xuan provided considerable assistance with the section on cultivation methods in the thirty-five volumes of this Spring and Autumn Annals.

Yang Xuan already knew the contents of the document by heart and didn't need to look at it again. He could confidently say that there was no problem.

As for why Confucius did this, Yang Xuan had known Confucius for so many years, how could he not see it?
Confucius, as a man born in response to the times, was even more sensitive to the present and future of Confucianism than Yang Xuan.

He had clearly sensed that when the Spring and Autumn Annals were completed, merit would surely descend. The reason he wanted Yang Xuan to take another look at the Spring and Autumn Annals was to allow Yang Xuan to receive more of the merit.

Little did they know, Yang Xuan truly had no shortage of merit.

Rather than allowing him to gain more merit, it would be better to give it all to Confucius, so that Confucius could go further in the contention of a hundred schools of thought.

Now that Confucius's teachings have a relatively complete framework, it is time for him to go out and end the stage of working in isolation.

"Confucius, there's no need for this. We both know what the Spring and Autumn Annals are like. Besides, I've already received the benefits I wanted, and I won't be left out of the merit. There's no need for this."

Yang Xuan smiled and shook his head, then pushed the bamboo slip back.

Confucius had known Yang Xuan for many years and understood his character. When Yang Xuan said this, Confucius smiled and stopped insisting.

Confucius unfolded the bamboo slips again, picked up his brush, and wrote his signature at the end, thus concluding this work that was destined to be famous throughout the ages.

Rumble——!
Just as the Spring and Autumn Annals was completed, a thunderclap suddenly sounded in the sky above Qingzhou, and a large number of auspicious clouds gathered above Confucius's academy, attracting the attention of the surrounding human races.

Followed by.

Then, a great deal of golden merit appeared, and the waters of the Milky Way poured down, flowing towards the Confucius Academy below.

About half of them flowed into the bamboo slips of the Spring and Autumn Annals written by Confucius and Yang Xuan, as well as the brushes used to write them.

The other half, divided into two parts, one large and one small, disappeared into the bodies of Confucius and Yang Xuan.

With the help of human virtue and merit, the thirty-five scrolls of Spring and Autumn bamboo slips placed on the desk shone with golden light and eventually merged into a single scroll of jade-yellow bamboo slips, which was named the Spring and Autumn Bamboo Slips.

The writing brush used to write the Spring and Autumn Annals also shone with golden light, transforming into a magical brush with a crystal-clear jade handle and jet-black bristles, named the Spring and Autumn Annals Brush.

The original bamboo slips from the Spring and Autumn Period and the writing brush were ordinary objects, not even considered spiritual objects. However, nourished by merit, they were transformed into superior acquired merit spiritual treasures, which are rare spiritual objects in the human world.

Looking at Confucius, having accumulated so much human virtue, a golden wheel of merit gradually formed behind his head.

Although it cannot compare to Yang Xuan's, it is still a complete Golden Wheel of Merit. With this Golden Wheel of Merit protecting him, even a Great Luo Golden Immortal would not dare to kill him unless there is a heavy karmic connection.

Confucius himself, after receiving these acts of kindness and merit, immediately gained enlightenment, his spiritual practice advanced by leaps and bounds, and his cultivation level soared dramatically.

He eventually broke through to the late stage of the Profound Immortal realm, triggering the Golden Immortal Tribulation, and everything fell into place naturally.

For the ninety-nine percent of the Xuanxian in the primordial world, the Golden Immortal Tribulation is a matter of life and death, and no one dares to invite it without absolute certainty.

As a result, there were many Xuanxian in the primordial world, but the number of Jinxian dropped precipitously. Even though Jinxian had no worries about lifespan and could live a long life, their numbers were only a fraction of those of Xuanxian.

Basically, all Xuanxian (mystical immortals) waste their lives in the later stages of their Xuanxian career, either exhausting their lifespan or dying unexpectedly, without ever having the courage to trigger the Golden Immortal Tribulation.

But Confucius is clearly not in this category.

When Confucius was young, he had two sages, Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian Jiaozhu, who personally laid the foundation for him.

After Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian Jiaozhu left, Yang Xuan stayed at Confucius's small courtyard and guided his cultivation. His foundation was so solid that it was no less than that of a sage personally instructing him.

Furthermore, Confucius was born at the right time and was blessed by the fortune of heaven and earth. It was just a mere Golden Immortal Tribulation, so how could there be any accidents?
In the end, Confucius survived the Golden Immortal Tribulation without serious injury and became a powerful Golden Immortal, thus achieving immortality.

Even with Confucius's temperament, after passing the Golden Immortal Tribulation and no longer worrying about his lifespan, he was in high spirits and hurriedly flew back to his courtyard, thinking:
From now on, I am also a Golden Immortal, with the same cultivation level as Mr. Yang.

However, when he saw Yang Xuan, he was stunned. He realized that he could not see through Yang Xuan's cultivation level at all.

"As expected of Master Yang..."

But he quickly calmed down, realizing that Yang Xuan's knowledge over the years was indeed beyond what an ordinary Golden Immortal could possess.

For a fleeting moment, he even suspected that the name Yang Xuan was not just a coincidence, but rather that of a legendary great sage of the human race, the emperor of both the Heavenly Court and the Underworld.

But this thought only existed in his mind for a moment.

Just kidding! The great sages of humanity, the emperors of Heaven and Hell, are quasi-saints, incredibly powerful, and their daily tasks are all for the sake of perfecting the evolution of the primordial world.

How could someone possibly live in his house, instruct him on his spiritual practice, create teachings, or even act as his teacher? This is clearly impossible.

"Congratulations, Confucius, on passing the Golden Immortal Tribulation! From now on, you will enjoy longevity and no more worries about your lifespan!" Yang Xuan, unaware of Confucius's thoughts at that moment, offered his heartfelt congratulations.

"Without your guidance over the years, I would not have achieved what I have today."

Confucius smiled and shook his head, then picked up the orange-yellow bamboo slips on the table and handed them over along with the crystal-clear jade pen.

"I have no way to repay your guidance, so I offer this item to you. Please do not refuse!"

These orange-yellow bamboo slips and crystal-clear jade brushes were originally ordinary objects, but nourished by a great deal of human merit, they have been transformed into superior acquired merit treasures.

Even if Confucius had not yet established his teachings, and the Spring and Autumn Annals pen and bamboo slips had not yet fully transformed, they were still rare spiritual objects for a Great Luo Golden Immortal.

With Confucius's knowledge, he certainly knew this.
Even so, he still wanted to give these two spiritual items to Yang Xuan. Such a character is truly rare in the primordial world.

Even Yang Xuan was somewhat moved.

But Yang Xuan has no shortage of spiritual treasures and merits, so how could he possibly accept this item?
Compared to the two acquired merit treasures, Yang Xuan was more concerned about the future of Confucianism.

With the help of these two magical objects, Confucius's travels throughout the states and the establishment of Confucianism would not only be saved from many troubles, but would also allow Confucianism to have a higher starting point.

Oh, no, we shouldn't be talking about surrounding countries now, but about traveling all over the ancient East!

The current intellectual ferment of the Hundred Schools of Thought encompasses the entire prehistoric East. Without a spiritual treasure by his side, Yang Xuan was not at ease letting Confucius leave.

After all, it was Confucius's job to establish Confucianism, and Yang Xuan couldn't possibly have accompanied him all the way.

Moreover, there are some things Yang Xuan should do now. (End of Chapter)
