Chapter 900 110 Happy Resignation, Li De

Chapter 900, Section 110: Happy Resignation, Li De

"The people of the new America have begun to evacuate!"

Amid the cheers of the hounds, or rather, the former hounds, they saw the new America, which had been surrounding the stadium and closing in step by step, break free and begin to disperse and retreat.

In a state of exhilaration akin to surviving a catastrophe, the former Ghost Hounds were somewhat incredulous.

They actually retreated.

Just because of one sentence from KK—who should now be called Boss KK—the people from New America withdrew. They didn't even dare to take another step forward and just slunk away!
The war is over!

Although Kurt Hansen is dead, they have a new leader, and they have successfully defended Dogtown!
"we won!"

An indescribable excitement exploded in the crowd, turning into deafening cheers. The surviving former Netherhounds waved their arms and shouted that name at the top of their lungs:

"Long live Boss KK!"

"We win! We win!"

For most former Ghosthounds, this victory was tantamount to protecting their families; they had defended Dogtown and their homes.

Not many of Kurt Hansen's hounds were truly loyal to him, but many were loyal to Dogtown.

Even those who weren't native to Dogtown, but came from all over the world and signed contracts with Hansen to become Ghosthounds, were no exception.

For those hounds who couldn't make a living around the world for various reasons, or who just wanted to make a better living, Dogtown was like a second home that took them in. If they hadn't held this belief, they wouldn't have been so easily swayed by Hansen to actually embark on a battlefield in direct conflict with New America.

Now that they have won the battle to protect their homeland, they too, swept up in the wave of victory, raised their weapons and joined the deafening cheers.

The cheers spread far and wide, soon echoing throughout the entire dogtown.

Carl's declaration and video were broadcast simultaneously throughout Dogtown using the setup Kurt Hansen usually used for his speeches, so all the residents of Dogtown knew what had happened.

Kurt Hansen wanted to detonate a nuclear bomb to destroy both Dogtown and New America, but KK saved them. Not only that, this new leader promised to become the new king of Dogtown and, with just a few words, forced back the arrogant New America army that had invaded Dogtown.

"Lord KK is here! Dogtown is at peace!"

"The new king, KK!"

Amidst the boisterous cheers, they had already entered Dog Town. Andy, the action team leader who was busy directing the troops, stopped what he was doing.

He listened to the cheers of the Dogtown residents rescued by the NCPD, and saw their eager gazes toward him and the NCPD members around him. A smile appeared on his usually calm face.

"It really is like the sun."

After saying something that seemed to be a reflection, Andy smiled and continued with what he was doing.

Carl is now the new king of Dogtown, so it's time for them to officially take over Dogtown.

We mustn't cause trouble for this new king.

Outside the stadium in Dogtown, the KK squad members, who were originally there to help Karl escape in case of a nuclear explosion, also heard the sound. At the same time, they also received a communication from their teammate T-BUG.

"I've arrived in Dogtown, but it seems there's nothing more for me to do. You guys acted really fast, taking over Dogtown already. I was thinking of going in to meet you in case of a nuclear explosion."

"It's not that we acted quickly."

V responded in the communicator, listening to the cheers from the entire Dogtown and watching the New American personnel retreating rapidly in the distance, as if fleeing, and said:

"Karl acted too quickly."

“Stop the nuclear bomb, deal with Hansen, and then figure out how to take over Dogtown.” Jack muttered to himself about the plan they had initially agreed upon: “I thought we were going to do it step by step, but it seems this guy is really lazy to the extreme.”

"Yes, he finished all three things at once, which really suits his lazy nature."

Oliver chuckled, looking at Dogtown before him, "So, shouldn't we go in and meet the new king?"

"At this point, it should be called an audience, after all, he is the king."

Johnny's eyes flickered, as if he was recalling something, but the projected face already showed a strange smile behind his sunglasses.

“But we still need to go early, otherwise if this ‘Prince’ finds it troublesome, then there will be no one to run errands for him.”

"I didn't realize, Johnny." Oliver glanced at him sideways. "You've actually learned to be considerate of others and proactively offer help?"

“Heh,” Johnny scoffed, “I’ll just say I’m in a good mood today and lend a hand.”

"Just lending a hand while I'm at it."

V was listening to Johnny and Oliver's conversation with his arms crossed, and was about to say something when he noticed two figures walking out of the stadium out of the corner of his eye.

This was the escape route they had prepared for Karl. Logically, only Karl should have left via this route, but the two people appearing before them were not Karl.

But they were all acquaintances.

"Li De. Song Zhaomei".

When V noticed the two acquaintances, everyone else also noticed them.

As they slowly approached, Oliver, who already knew what had happened from Carl's communications, stepped closer to them.

"You guys are pretty lucky."

Oliver gestured with his thumb to the vehicle parked not far from them as he spoke: "That vehicle was originally intended for Hansen to escape after the nuclear explosion. We drove it from outside the planned nuclear blast zone, and we originally planned to use it ourselves, but we don't need it now. In Karl's words, we're giving it to you."

Listening to Oliver's words, Li De glanced at the vehicles in the distance and nodded heavily to Oliver.

"Thank you."

Li De whispered his thanks.

“No need to thank me.” Oliver waved his hand. “But don’t forget you still owe Carl a debt—the one you owed old Vie from when you were seriously injured last time. Carl just remembered and asked me to pass on a message.”

"Debt." The seriousness on Li De's face froze, then turned into a helpless nod. "I won't forget."

"No rush. You have to work anyway, right? And knowing your personality, even if you don't work for that president, you'll probably still be secretly trying to do something good for the country. So there's no need to run away in such a hurry. Dogtown might be a place to stay, but it's up to you."

Oliver, who practically grew up under the Stars and Stripes, could more or less understand Reed's current predicament.

He handed Li De a chip: "This is a small token of my appreciation. It's not much, but enough to pay off my debts. Use it to settle down before you start working. After all, being a 'Patriot' is never an easy job, is it?"

As soon as he finished speaking, his gaze briefly swept over Song Zhaomei before shifting away.

Compared to Li De, he had nothing to say to this person.

“Happy resignation, Reed,” Oliver concluded.
