Chapter 867 77 There are no more ninja groups
Chapter 867, Section 77: The Ninja Hundred-Man Group is Gone.
"What happened? Hurry! Where are the maintenance personnel? Get moving!"
"The device won't start, permissions have been tampered with, someone has hacked it!"
"Activate the emergency protocol, quick!"
From the darkness came the guards' hoarse, panicked shouts, but more orders were drowned out by the sudden chaos.
Oliver did not hesitate for a moment after Carl turned off the power.
His prosthetic eye quickly switched to mode, and the world before him was immediately redrawn by blocks of color of different temperatures—orange-red figures representing humanity moved frantically against a cold blue-gray background, like conspicuous torches in the night.
He moved.
As he merged into the darkness, the first guard to notice something was wrong had just raised his weapon when a barely audible whooshing sound swept past his neck. He didn't even feel pain, only a slight tingling sensation, followed by a surge of intense suffocation and a feeling of being pulled out of consciousness.
The weapon in his hand clattered to the ground, and he collapsed—the neurotoxin had destroyed his nervous system in an instant.
Not only did Carl have a neurotoxin knife, but Oliver did too.
“Three on the left, approaching.” Jack’s voice rang out in the encrypted channel, unusually calm. In his arms, the necks of the people who had come over after seeing the chaos were snapped.
"receive."
Karl's figure glided into the water like a fish, silently approaching the three guards who were back to back, nervously looking around. Although Karl's eyes had not been modified, he could still easily detect the location of those people in the darkness.
Sounds, breaths, and every subtle change in light in the darkness—all these became extensions of Karl's perception, allowing him to traverse the chaos and darkness as if walking on flat ground.
He was used to using night vision goggles in the dark, but now he discovered that he could actually see, or rather, sense people and objects without them.
Information was constantly being collected and summarized in Carl's mind, presenting him with a 'vision' that was even brighter and clearer than before, allowing him to 'see' everything clearly.
The same neurotoxin dagger drew an invisible, deadly arc in the darkness, accompanied by a very slight cutting sound and a muffled groan. In Oliver's prosthetic eyes, three heat source signals flashed violently almost simultaneously, then quickly dimmed and cooled.
"Ugh!" A scream came from behind. It was the wounded "Ghost Hound" member. He took advantage of the chaos created by Karl and used his dagger to take down one of the smear agents. He had the upper hand and caught the enemy off guard. In an environment where no one was wearing special night vision equipment, he only needed to find the last person he could see before it got dark and make his move.
In the darkness, Carl moved swiftly.
He had already memorized the location of the 100-ninja group and marked it, so now he had to go and take them down one by one according to the markings.
He had always heard that ninjas were skilled at operating in the dark, so he didn't mind practicing with them in their area of expertise.
Carl walked toward the training field. His senses were amplified infinitely in the darkness. Every heartbeat, every heavy breath caused by fear, and even the slightest sound of his fingertips brushing against his clothes, seemed to ring clearly in his ears.
A technician was hunched over a control panel, his hands trembling as he tried to connect to a separate physical terminal. Carl didn't even change his pace; the neurotoxin knife in his hand flicked like a viper's tongue, and with a gentle touch, the technician's body stiffened abruptly, then collapsed, lifeless.
The other guard sensed something was wrong. Feeling the instinctive crisis and fear for his life, he blindly raised his gun and opened fire. The bullets hit nothing, and the sparks briefly illuminated his terrified face.
This fleeting light became his final death message. Karl's figure swept past him from the side and behind, the blade precisely slicing through his carotid artery, warm blood splattering onto the cold alloy wall.
A knife requires extreme precision to kill someone because of its size; it doesn't offer much room for error. But for Karl, that precision wasn't difficult to achieve.
If V were here, that would be great.
The thought flashed through Karl's mind: If V, who wields a katana, were here, things would likely be more efficient.
I wonder if V has finished his work and taken the time to clean up the trash.
As he was thinking this, Karl sensed a figure approaching him.
The remaining members of the 100-man ninja group lived up to their reputation as the last elite who managed to escape even when all information was under the enemy's control. Their skills were all excellent. The moment darkness fell, they adapted to it and, using their prosthetic eyes, locked onto the people who were about to start the killing, surrounding them immediately.
There are eight people in total.
Eight against one, with the masked man in the suit being the first to rush over.
He had already torn open his suit jacket, activated his optical camouflage, and charged forward wielding a dark mantis knife that was inconspicuous in the darkness.
Beside him were two companions who had activated S.A.W.S.
Was it three against one in the first instant?
Karl was holding a knife.
That's really simple.
Instead of retreating, Karl advanced in the face of the attack. Just before the blade touched him, he slid to the side and the knife precisely pierced the armpit of the ninja in front of him who had activated optical camouflage.
'The first one.' He counted in his mind as the ninja, who hadn't expected to activate his optical camouflage in the darkness and be seen through, fell.
Carl then easily dodged the blade, which was so slow even when the Sianweistein was activated.
'The second one.' He stabbed the attacker in the throat with a backhand.
'The third one.' Cut the enemy's throat while Sianwistan was overheating.
The battle continued in an eerie and rapid silence. Just as the last ninja realized something was wrong and tried to adjust his stance to retreat temporarily and regroup, Karl threw a dagger with a backhand.
'The eighth one.'
The dagger pierced precisely between the eyebrows, ending the battle.
The eight remaining members of the 100-ninja group were undoubtedly the most elite members of the group.
Despite numerous disadvantages, they still managed to escape from Arakasaka Seigen's clutches, but they were all wiped out by Karl.
"I feel... not as good as Oda."
This is Carl's assessment.
He wasn't saying that these 100 ninjas were inferior to Oda Santayu in a one-on-one fight, but rather that the eight of them combined were no match for Oda Santayu alone.
Thinking about it carefully, it makes sense. The best ones were chosen as bodyguards. The 100-man ninja group is powerful, but in the end, they are just a group of people who were left over. Compared to Oda Sandayu, who was a bodyguard for Arasaka Hanako, they are indeed far inferior.
Karl wiped the knife on the last person's clothes and then put it away.
"The 100-man ninja group will never exist again."
