Chapter 815, Mission 25 Completed, Divination

Chapter 815, Section 25: Mission Completed, Divination

"The personnel mobilized for biotechnology, the equipment and characteristics carried by biotechnology personnel, core experimental materials, and routes of travel."

Carl hacked into the main control system of the secret laboratory in Pacific State with practiced ease. Data flowed into his storage device like a docile flock of sheep. The whole process was so smooth it was tedious—no alarms were triggered, no patrolling guards were encountered, and not even the most basic biometric lock appeared.

When he sent the complete package of information to Mr. Blue Eyes, his communicator lit up with an incoming call notification almost instantly.

“Mr. KK!” The employer’s voice was calm, but there was a slight increase in speed, as if he was expressing excitement. “I thought it would be enough for you to have the personnel list. Although there were requirements, these equipment parameters were obviously a pleasant surprise. But you even got their core experimental data, test records, and laboratory coordinates. You are truly outstanding.”

Carl listened to the praise on the other end of the communication, then looked down at the full remittance notification he had just received. He had originally planned to go to another warehouse of documents to take a look—in his mind, this might not be enough, and the documents there might be enough to get by. But to his surprise, Mr. Blue Eyes was clearly too satisfied.

"As expected of an industry legend." The employer finally regained his usual restrained tone, and the urgency in his voice disappeared. "The completeness and detail of this information far exceeds what we agreed upon."

It certainly far exceeded Mr. Blue Eyes' expectations.

What was the initial mission assignment again?

Although there were many requirements, they could be summarized as simply having Carl investigate the movements of the biotechnology department's agents. He only needed to figure out their activity patterns; the additional requirements regarding equipment and personnel were merely minor, casually mentioned information.

Essentially, employers just want to know what the biotechnology division is doing.

It was just a simple reconnaissance mission, but what did Karl deliver?
He not only ascertained the other party's actions, but also had complete information on the transportation routes, the list of experimental personnel, experimental data, and even experimental images and the precise coordinates of the laboratory.

It feels like—you just ask KK to go to the supermarket to see if they sell apples, and while you're at it, find out about the local orchards and think about whether you should open one yourself.

But this guy went even further, not only digging up all the planting reports, farmer files, logistics routes, and quarterly reports for orchards throughout the city, but also providing profit and loss analysis and acquisition assessments of competitors. When that stack of documents landed in your arms, you suddenly realized that you had jumped directly from the dilemma of whether or not to open an orchard to the trouble of 'which orchard to acquire'.

The most fatal flaw is that you do indeed have the means and the intention, and ironically...
You only paid the change to "check the price at the supermarket," but KK brought you a whole business intelligence report—core data that should have required a professional spy team to spend months and huge sums of money to obtain.

Even within the company, that kind of intelligence would take an entire intelligence department a whole month to obtain, and by the time it was acquired, it was often already expired. In comparison, KK's efficiency was simply outrageous.

Is the money he wants a lot? Of course it is. It could hire several professional mercenary teams. But compared to the operation of an entire intelligence department in a company, the casualties and other costs, is this amount of money a lot?
It's just a drizzle.

After Mr. Blue Eyes offered plenty of praise since it was free, Carl ended the call.

He had actually figured things out.

I worked so hard that the results exceeded expectations, and my employer gave me rave reviews.

Carl suddenly realized something.

Although he always felt that V was destined to be a hard worker, doing those tasks worth thousands or tens of thousands of euros every day, working so hard and always doing them so well, he thought about it carefully and wondered if he was the same way.

Just now, I was actually thinking that it wasn't enough and I couldn't finish the job, but in reality, I've almost turned this biotechnology experiment upside down.

The experiment was proposed by [names of person/organization], the experimental objective was [names of objective/objective], the experimental conditions were [names of circumstances/location], and the experimental data were [names of data/information].
With these, Mr. Blue Eyes was practically able to observe and participate in the entire experiment from the sidelines.

I really did try too hard.

Carl put his phone away without much thought. After all, he wasn't entirely unpaid for his efforts.

At least he got all the answers he was interested in during the experiment, and he even saw dinosaurs fighting gorillas, which is something you don't see just anywhere. Karl was completely satisfied.

Furthermore, Carl also learned that the matter of Dogtown was not over.

Hansen, what are you planning to do? I reckon Dogtown will soon be plunged into real chaos.

At this juncture, Hansen's expansion of his forces clearly indicates his unwillingness to submit to Rosalind Miles. And what Rosalind Miles will do after Hansen holds her fatal weakness is almost a given.

A battle is about to begin.

While I don't particularly like this kind of thing, one thing is true.

Mercenaries are a profession that involves pursuing and participating in combat.

Soon, I will get new work.

After leaving the biotechnology lab, Carl walked back to the Pacific region, hailed a Delaman taxi, and rode back to Watson District.

His job was done, and he wanted to find Old Wei to maintain his prosthetic body.

As Carl passed by Misty's shop, he nodded to her in greeting and was about to walk straight past when she called him back.

"Wait a minute, Carl."

Misty took a few steps closer and smiled mysteriously: "When I was doing the divination for Jack earlier, I also did it for you guys. Want to see your result?"

"Divination?"

Carl raised an eyebrow. In his memory, Misty's divinations were always surprisingly accurate. After a moment's hesitation, he couldn't help but ask, "How about mine?"

Misty didn't answer directly, but simply stuffed the paper with the divination results written on it into his hand.

"See for yourself."

"See for yourself."

Carl looked down at the note in his hand, which read—

In 2077, KK, Virgo
You've been in the city for a long time, you've figured out all the tricks of the trade, you've completed the most difficult part, you have an excellent team backing you up, and the jobs you take on now are no longer a challenge for you. Under your influence, the world is slowly getting better, but you know that this level of change is not what you're pursuing.
